At first I was annoyed at how in the eyes of MC he was the only one allowed to feel remorse for what he had done. Every time someone wanted to try and move on, or start to amend things with Deaf-chan he'd say something to the effect of "but you where a jerk!, you're not allowed to" or "you're the one to speak, you used to be so mean". But then in the end, every person that was a jerk to Deaf-chan continued being a jerk. Same for me. The ending is actually less positive than it seems, and intentionally so. The illusion that, in the end, everyone's still a good friend is due to the fact that we see the story from the MC's point of view. Kawai in particular is an irredeemable bitch.
