I've been wondering, can I enjoy other Harlock anime without completing the original TV series? I like the cast, setting, etc but it's a long drag sometimes.

In theory you can, practically speaking most Harlock stuff beyond the first series is seriously meh, honestly I only stuck through all of it because Matsumoto's imagery gives me a boner.

Never saw the old stuff but the Netflix movie looked okay. Is the rest of it better?
