And to add something good about the Dark elves, I believe they can be easily the best elf race for a relationship in general, I mean, in many cases, most white elves are either ass, proud, not interested, or really hard to interact, dark elves on the other hand are like... I don't know how to explain it. It's like you can even start hating them, but since they are even lower that humans and orcs, they always have to move to other places and are not in only one place, making that sometimes somebody have to work with a dark elf, and sometimes even interacting with the person you don't get along well for a long time can make a big change. That's what I think.
It's weird though, dark elves tend to be the most hated of the races and they hate humans too, but when they start a friendship/love relationship with a human they stop giving 13 fucks about species

It is unfortunate, but I don't think the Japanese care about elves with Christian allegory. I doubt Tolkien's work is popular in Japan, most of the work about elves in Japan is simply that of a haughty and arrogant race. Honestly, I think this is because they based it off Europeans, and not the original concept of elves. So I doubt we will see anything as awesome as an elf facing a dark God in Japanese media.

Not really, I am just using real world examples that pretty much are facts in all fictional worlds. Children are a big force that can change the future depending of how they lived their childhood, and they can be pretty complex when they lived some serious shit even if they had a pretty good life and love or not. So usually Dark Elves are wandering due to some diaspora from the above issues.

There's literally no accepted norm with elves. I mean yeah, you have the general archetype of high and mighty white or high elves that are often cunts, dark elves which range from slutty to evil and slutty, and a bunch of other smaller subtypes, but it's really up the author how they want to play it. That's part of why elves (and other fantasy races like dwarves, orcs, gnomes, demihumans, etc.) are so great and versatile; you can do literally anything with them. You can go from Dragon Age where the elves are a bunch of fucking enslaved hippies, to The Elder Scrolls where they're racist, genocidal psuedo-nazis, and everything in between. It's great.
