It's great how little fucks Akeno gives about Shiro ranting about her new nickname.
Where do you think this ship will sail next?
>sail to Somalia with your Kagero pimped with XXI century tech
>dominate local pirates in their camel hide boats
>rest of the series is little girls terrorizing Chinese container ships
>What is your ideal captain?
>Something like the father of the ship.
>And, comrades on a ship are family!
Goddammit, it's like they took my doc and turned him into a little girl.
Are all navy doctors bored and burned out or something?
My niggas. She's the best type of genki
I think if the girls start dropping, the most likely to go first is sex hair. She's not one of the main girls, but they've established that she has some sort of relation with one of them, so her death would still effect them more than the girls we've seen them have no actual interaction with.
It's not really the premise. I can handle the premise just fine. But when live rounds are being fired on your ship and you're worried about your broken rice cooker or the fact that your captain wants to call you a nickname, it gets significantly tougher.
Judging from this we aren't going to see the other ships crew.
No way. See? There's a guy in it.
The girls weren't taking it seriously at that point so it's understandable. If they start doing it during a situation where they know their lives are genuinely on the line it would be dumb. Everyone got competent once they realized things were for real.
I don't think we'll get deaths either, but at the same time I'm really not sure where this show is going. Them still doing this whole bait and switch thing even after trying to push it as basically GuP 2.0 still makes me think there possibly will be more to it.
>You will never be this smug while sensually embracing your female childhood friend
If everything is automated does that mean they have 25mm guns turned into CIWS?
There's only one thing new here.
At least spoiler that shit man this is a blue board.
if the modern ship really wanted to kill them, it would have shot them with an anti-ship missile, not the gun
They also note repeatedly that the gun is firing less accurately than it would if they were trying to sink the Harekaze outright
They will die on that boat
Can we get another loli death squad or does KanColle own that?
What's your ideal Captain?
>mfw people are bracing for grimderp but it will just be boats GuP
>more serious GuP with ships
Picked the fuck up.
>those are lockers with the torpedo reloads for the launchers
Damn, that's true.
It means they can't really do shit to modern ships.
Yeah, it would be strange if didn't. I'm expecting the plot to be something like the underdog destroyer winning over all the other students battleship. So more characters appearing should be expected.
This is true, but Des. Squad 6 was great in all their scenes.
I'm pretty sure that we moved beyond an underdog sports story when they got framed for mutiny in the first episode, especially since the rest of the theoretical "rivals" haven't gotten any development or even screentime at all.
>resupplying on a tiny pacific island episode
This could be the show of the year if they do it right.
>desperately trying to get the turbines up and running again while the enemy fleet bears down on you episode
>constructing a fake bow episode
>changing pennant number and sneaking by the enemy episode
>And they will obviously be fighting other students.
I don't think so. The teacher asked for the maritime safety bureau to take care of them. These are the actual Blue Mermaids, not students.
fucking crunchyroll, do people seriously pay for this shit?
Yeah I didn't express myself right. I meant underdog destroyer not in a sport GUP like way, but more that they're going to overcome some heavy shit sent by who the hell they're going to be against, just being a destroyer.
So which girl is the resident slut for the Harekaze?
>All the other student ships are watching them get attacked
I have no idea whats going on any more.
>they take male sailors prisoner after sinking their ship
They're already past their best years though.
Someone from the engine room, no doubt.
Wait, shit, I didn't notice the other ships in that shot. I just assumed they were still far enough away that no one would notice.
Guess they're either all in on it
or sensei murdered everyone.
>LCS is attacking your destroyer with it's 57mm anti-somalis gun
What was that instructor even thinking?
>You are now aware that Moka is now forced to sink MIke and crew with the Musashi
There's a manga for this but it only started 6 months ago. So, this is an original anime?
I love Mei
and you. Do the MAJI? UTSU NO? scene now. It's cute.
Not really, not at all... quite the opposite really.
Strike witches the girls and weapons are seperate. but i agree with you, I'd rather see a person flying the plane that going around in plane thigh highs and using magic and machine guns.
Now i will just wait for a true plane porn anime.
So Shiro will take over as captain at some point, right? Akeno doesn't seem too bad so far but she's clearly not as well prepared or did as well as her in exams. Otherwise Shiro will be a bitter cunt forever
I like this, I like it a lot. More shows need twins
I'm just saying that if the teacher wanted to send the kids to kill each other, she wouldn't have contacted the Bureau. Now the Bureau is in charge, and I don't see any reason they would send kids after Mike's ship.
I don't think any school would just go ahead and sink a ship full of students; even after they "attacked" their teachers.
I really have no idea where this is supposed to go, this episode took such a 180 turn I don't think I can be surprised anymore.
The scene cuts at the end so it looks abit odd as a webm
She's there because crazy instructor or someone sees that she has the greatest potential of all of them, like in every show like this. Showing her having memorized everyone's names and her response to the "what is a captain" question are supposed to indicate that she's naturally inclined to the role, while Shiro is overly stiff and by-the-book.
From the same instructor who later framed them, I don't buy anything genuine there. She just wants to get her into the scenario she needs for whatever her agenda is.
"The captain is the ship's father" is a braindead answer she's likely laughing at internally.
Firing on a superior officer is pretty serious.
I do wonder what exactly requires so much naval power to keep the world safe. Just other countries and politics, or some not-Neuroi sea monster threat?
>You will never be this genki shooting at your own people
>there are people that didnt watch this
Yeah that is a plot point that if they are going against the military with modern tech air power would just absolutely destroy them. But we'll see if the bait and switch is even real with just one episode.
>my fellow countrymen will never be infatuated with our World War II-era Navy like the nips
Should have lost the war tbqh.
>Not so simple, Anon, the same was said in Vietnam
When will this meme end?
Missiles have advanced drastically since the 60's.
>you will never live in water world
Has anyone tried seeing if the morse code here actually means anything?
I guess she wasn't expecting them to fire back and get in the line with the other ships.
She's firing with 57mm bofors against a ship with 5 inch guns after all. Even the crews thought that it was a bluff.
>Sailors wearing sailor suits
I see no problem here.
Macross Delta and Bakuon are the two shows currently above this in preorder rankings. Not that this necessarily means anything this early in the season, especially with this many originals.
Holy shit this triggers me. Who the fuck says c when about to say cat? Just put the whole word already it's just on syllable goddammit.
I think I would prefer literally any other girl in this class as the MC. Tiny, non-committed, side twintails are the most autistic looking thing ever.
If the shows keep up the quality of the first episodes we've had so far, it'll definitely be the best season in at least a year. Although I actually thought Winter was quite good.
The teacher probably expected they would run away. The way I see it, she wanted to set the Safety Bureau after then, probably to distract them. To begin with, it was already suspicious that Mike was chosen as captain without top grades, and it's not like the teacher knew her personally (this is Mike's first year in this Academy). It was all a set-up.
So when will we get a series about cute girls piloting a B-52?
Yeah, there aren't any other genres that are on that far outnumber what you listed at all. I mean harem, fantasy/reincarnation, etc are hardly ever made anymore. I mean the military orientated ones make up at least 5 shows each season far more than those other genres I listed.
Screw that, Minuteman III silo operator crew made up entirely of cute girls.
Its a perfect set up for a SOL.
But what does she want from them?
>no fuel, ammo, food supplies
>will probably be hunted down by navies from Japan's allies everywhere they go
Is this the anime adaptation of the legendary SMS Emden?
I'm going to have so many Shiro images by time this show is over
>But what does she want from them?
We can only speculate at this point. My own guess is the she wants to distract the Safety Bureau (the Blue Mermaids) to buy time for something else. Could be an actual rebel attack, for instance.
In any case, the fact that she contacted the Safety Bureau right way is highly suspicious.
At least the water is clear.
FOUND MY SAILORFU
MAYU CHAN AT THE BINOCULARS
This show is less dumb than it seems.
The thing about modern surface ships is that they are not designed to fight ships. No really, submarines and airplanes are supposed to hunt ships.
Moderns DD's and even CA's have just 8 harpoon launchers. Many even removed their Harpoon launchers. Because they are supposed to protect carriers from missiles, planes and subs, not surface ships.
And since their Kagero is upgraded with modern equipment and weapons are 100% automatized it should be able to easily fend off Harpoon attacks.
6 dual purpose guns and probably 4+ CIWS should easily get a salvo of few Harpoons.
And then they have modernized 650mm torpedoes. They should have 70-80kn speed at 30nmi range.
So yeah, if you are a lone Burke you wouldn't want to face this shit. Especially since it's faster and you can't even run away when your 8 Harpoons are gone.
what the fuck am I watching, and why do I love it so?
holy shit make them stop. I can't stop cringing.
If they have Kagerou-class replicas or extended productions, I don't see why they wouldn't also have long lances for the purpose of use in training ships. Plus the extra space needed would need the design of the ship to be enlarged.
Soon the 3rd image will be something like this.
So outside of selling models and jumping on the IJN bandwagon. Is there any realistic reason this water world would replicate WW2 ships and not just using the typical Ticonderoga or Arleigh Burke models of today?
Remember when Iowa murdered her sailors?
>The thing about modern surface ships is that they are not designed to fight ships.
Huh? Russians probably don't get a memo.
okay, I just finished watching this, so maybe the answer is already in the thread
1. why the fuck did a training torpedo sink a ship?
2. why the fuck didn't the school answer the Harekaze's call?
I don't understand the direction where this show going, but the animation was great and love all the girls. The concept is kinda stupid, though.
Captain-chan is best HaiFuri.
Outdated or not, WW2 era ships would be a pain in the ass to replicate again. The US today isn't capable of rebuilding a ship made 70 years ago do to the lack of know how, and its industries having to be completely overhauled to build the thing.
Typical answer from what I get is, "it's the only game like it in the market."
Frankly, I'd rather just pop in Battlestations: Pacific on my PC than wasting one minute on that Slav piece of crap they call a naval game.
Why does this little girl have a man's name?
I would suppose it's some sort of alternative history where they just use the original ships.
Keeping them around doesn't seem to be outside of the realm of the possible, considering that the Iowa was brought back into running condition after being mothballed for almost 25 years.
But really, who am I kidding.
The only reason they have those ships in the anime is so that history fans can masturbate to them; there is no real reason to think about it too hard.
I will fight you in real life.
WoWs would be fun as a real game.
My problems with this anime so far:
This goes from comfy water world SOL to School Days to GuP but For Real.
The BGM sucks ass and is wonky
She goes from airhead to Admiral in the space of 30 seconds. Also her character design is the most boring of the whole cast.
It's like they tried to copy GuP with a smaller buget, but they didn't want to rip it off too much so they threw made it brighter and more light hearted, but then made it serious because they needed Conflict, but it comes off weird.
I would have enjoyed it more if they just made it GuP in boats, or if they at least stuck to single tone.
>i don't know what being a captain realy means
>starts giving orders as if she had 20 years of experience already
Everything is lost guys.
>GuP only got good after like 3 episodes.
GuP was great from the start. Nuts to you!
When she was talking with the other girl, in that same scene by the way, she clearly said she didn't have an idea what a Captain did, she said she studied yes but still it doesn't explain how out from nothing she became an expert.
To be honest I don't think this show can handle going all serious.
You are only counting launchers, not reloads. They made the same arguments about the old Spruence's when they came out how they were pathetically under gunned but had enough ammo stored to sink half the Russian Navy. Modern warships operate in quality, not mass. You launch just 1 or 2 harpoons at each enemy ship, not 6 or 8. And these days, ship vs ship combat is not exactly the norm. It's always air vs ship so the ships weapons are skewed to anti-air defenses.
Seriously, modern destroyers are cruisers in all but in name. Look at the size and tonnages. The Block II Arleigh displaces and is as long as the old Block I Tico and is much better armed since it has VLS. The new Zumwalt is the size of an WWII era BB and its only displaces less cause of modern materials in its hull and could be said its a modern BC.
You say that like such things cannot be riveting.
She's a big girl.
This show kinda remind me of pic related but with lesbians,.
Will those lolis refuel themselves by committing piracy against sensei?
>but with lesbians
Now I can finally post this!
They only have 1 deployed as a flagship obviously. The other is still being "upgraded" for at least another 2 years. They are just prestige ships to the Russians. Also, never been used to attack any surface ship so who knows how effective they will actually be...well they wont be cause if they ever get into a fight with the US (who else?), it will be instantly ganked by 2-3 squadrons of fighter-bombers off a carrier or a land based Orion/B-52 squadron and sunk by harpoons.
According to the speculah on moonrunes board, the Blue Mermaid program is propaganda for the real Navy. Basically having cute girls fight along side real men gives them morale. However there are some that feel like it's a mockery of the real Navy work.
>We could have had GuP-style fun with ships, but plotfags had to fuck everything up
