Do you watch anime for fun, or as a serious art form?
Many of the posts on /a/ lead me to believe nobody here actually enjoys anime.
I watch it seriously for fun

It used to be that people who genuinely enjoyed anime would come here to shitpost with other people who genuinely enjoyed anime. It's become backwards now, people who like shitposting come here to shitpost and will watch a few shows so they can have an excuse to stay, hence why you'd think that way.

epic /v/ meme
Fun.
Even people in Japan don't see their works as being "art"

Why are you here?
When I started using Taiga, I would care too much about completing series instead of putting it on hold or outright dropping it.
Nowadays if something doesn't catch me by episode 4 I'll drop it.
So fun.

What is the motivation to watch something as a "serious art form" as opposed to fun? What does that even mean?
What does one do with a "serious art form" anyway? And do you partake in serious art forms that aren't fun?

This is not /v/, fuck off with your epic jokes.

I pick up a 0-5 shows each season, based on PVs, screenshots, and /a/ threads. For fun. Mostly I read manga.
When you like something you tend to take it more seriously than something you don't care about as much.

Why are those different things? Samurai Flamenco was fun, but it's also serious art.
/a/ makes watching cartoons as joyless as humanly possible.
It's an artform in of itself.
I watch it for fun. Dumb funny anime, with good animation is what I'm mainly after.
If I see an anime I like is getting shat upon on /a/, I keep out of that thread. I don't want "reasons" to hate something I like.
The anime that are considered artsy or deep, are usually boring as fuck. Akira, Evangelion, and all that crap for example.
I'm here for stuff like gurren lagann, death note, code geass, kill la kill, konosuba, and (now) kabaneri.
And I also don't get when someone says that other anon has "shit taste".
There are tons of different anime to appeal the most diverse publics. The anime you don't like simply is directed for different people.
