When I saw those 2 in Durarara!! I nearly lost it.

After baccano ended I wanted more and I got it. Then I got the feels knowing it was a final farewell From Them and I'd likely never see the idiot duo again in anything new.

Goddamn now I'm sad again

I reckon we need more shows where the OTP is already going out and works together to overcome the enemy/event.

Then again, the otaku scum don't want to see happy couples. They're like /r9k/.
>FUCKING RIAJUU REEEEEEEEEEEE
They don't buy the show, show flops, S2 never, etc.
>>
>>139848038
Because Bakemonogatari is selling so badly, right?
Or Sword Art Online?
>>
>>139848060
They're both harems and MC can pick and choose, he's rarely seen for long with the official waifu.
>>
>>139848116
Those both have fixed and happy couples, just like what >>139847717 asked for.

They were just kinda hanging out in one of the Episodes (I think it was an OVA?) as a member of the Dollars.
>>
>>139849069
That was the final episode of season 1 right? I just want more Baccano animated, or at least Isaac and Miria to come back in Durrrr.
>>

>or at least Isaac and Miria to come back in Durrrr
I'm sure they had a cameo in S2 as well, on a poster or something

>otaku scum
This has literally become a worse boogieman than /v/ at this point. Whatever you don't like, it's always because of otaku.

>>
>>139849671
Do you have any idea what a boogieman is? Otaku fund the industry and make it what it is, they exist and are legitimately to blame a lot of the time. Whether they're worth complaining about or not is another thing, considering it's their money and they have the right to spend it on what they like while we torrent everything for free.
>>
>>139848038
>They don't buy the show, show flops, S2 never, etc.
Good.

Nobody needs riajuu bullshit in anime.
>>
>>139848138
The whole "couple" thing barely plays a role. The canon "love interests" are as relevant as the other girls. Don't kid yourself, these are harem anime.
>>
>>139850764
You're moving the goalposts.
>>
>>139850795
No, I'm not, and I'm not even the guy you're talking to. He was obviously talking about believable relationships between couples in anime, not about harem anime where one of the competitors is declared winner with no visible consequence.
>>
>>139850827
>with no visible consequence.
Having sex with one girl exclusively is no visible consequence?
>>
>>139850978
>Having sex with one girl exclusively is no visible consequence?
You see them having sex on screen? That would be news to me.
>>
>>139851036
Bakemonogatari is a fanservice show, not hentai.
>>
>>139851063
As I said: no visible consequences.

You don't even see "implied" sex, in the sense of them waking up in the same bed the next morning or something.
>>
>>139851103
>As I said: no visible consequences.
Next you're going to say that things the people talk about is irrelevant to the show.
Are you there only for the pictures? Does the story not matter to you at all?
>>
>>139851103
In fact the closest thing to implied sex was with Karen after the toothbrushing thing - who isn't even the main love interest.
>>
>>139851133
The point is that Bakemonogatari doesn't focus on the relationship of a couple. It's a harem anime that declared one of the girls winner without changing the pattern in the slightest. This is clearly not what the guy was talking about and it makes you silly for even mentioning it because Bakemonogatari is what he said in name only but not in actuality.
>>
>>139850795
I don't know about what that anon thinks but harems are basically the exact opposite of a pair like Isaac and Miria. They are strongly romance focused whether there is an official relationship or not, but it would be nice if functional, drama-free relationships were just a background to the plot.

I don't really watching romantic relationships develop in anime because it's too often full of awkwardness and drama (though I'll admit Crab's balls and straightforwardness saved her and Araragi from being annoying). An established couple with a comfortable, easy dynamic is a nice change.
>>
>>139851222
>functional, drama-free relationships
I wouldn't even describe their relationship as a real "relationship". They are buffoonish caricatures but no complete characters who have something like a real relationship.
>>
>>139851219
>Bakemonogatari doesn't focus on the relationship of a couple.
>>139851222
Did I miss something?
I can't remember the loving relationship of Isaac and Miria being very important next to all the stupid gigs they got up to.
>>
>>139851318
>Bakemonogatari doesn't focus on the relationship of a couple.
Yes, that's what I said.

And in case you wondered, >>139851222 isn't me. Otherwise he probably wouldn't have referred to me as "that anon".
>>
>>139851318
>I can't remember the loving relationship of Isaac and Miria being very important next to all the stupid gigs they got up to.
That's exactly what I'm saying I like, relationships which are not the focus and are just in the background unlike harems.
>>
>>139851404
Oh wait, I see why you misunderstood.
When I said
>They are strongly romance focused
I meant 'they' as in harem series, not 'they' as in Isaac and Miria, but it wasn't clear
>>
>>139851366
>>139851404
>>139851446
I see. So your problem is you want a romance-less couple. That has nothing to do with harem or no harem. The issue is with the setting. High school anime will always have romance tagged to all couples because high school couples are fresh and exciting.

What you're looking for is older people.
Stop blaming harems.
>>
>>139851533
We didn't bring up harems though, the guy who suggested Monogatari and SAO as being what we want did.
>>
>>139851594
You rejected the two on account of them being harems.
>>
>>139851635
Not the guy you're talking to, but I rejected them not because they were harems but because they did NOT focus on the relationship thing. They contain a relationship in NAME, one of the girls is declared winner, but practically there is absolutely no difference between regular harem anime.
>>
>>139851736
>They contain a relationship in NAME,
So just like Isaac and Miria.
>>
>>139851776
I wasn't the one who brought up the example. I merely said that for someone looking for relationships Monogatari and SAO isn't the place to look.
>>
>>139851822
They weren't even brought up as examples to look for. They were brought up as counter examples to the claim that no anime with a confirmed couple could sell in Japan.
>>
>>139847671
Original anime with non high-school cast set in not school locations?
