>Why are you all believe in such ignorant superstitions? Why don't you all believe in the power of SCIENCE like me?
>Attack on Titan BTFO
Sure, but don't worry. If it's good, as you say, before the season is done airing /a/ will hate it just as much as AoT and you can all pretend it was always shit from then onwards.
>suddenly the infection magically reversed
Wew lad all I've seen about that anime is that WebM and I already dropped it. Shit must suck hard if people say that that's the best scene.
i miss it so much its like a dream come true when an anime actually uses it.
At this point it's safe to assume that a "kabenari" is a person who is infected with the Kabane virus but retains their humanity. Mumei is probably one and didn't get examined so they could keep this fact about her under wraps. Kabaneri may also have the iron around their hearts. MC's trick for overcoming the bite infection probably turned him into a Kabaneri. I'm guessing that he gets roped into protecting the train until they can get to safety along with Mumei because of his new condition. Hell, he probably realizes that he's not totally human any more in that scene where he gets shot by a Bushi in the episode two preview. He probably developed the iron around his heart and was able to shrug off the bullet wound.
Bait all you want, but I find this angle refreshing. I've seen a ton stories where you have an ancient order of warriors fighting an evil, and then some dude comes along and tries to come up with a more innovative, less costly means of protecting people, and suddenly they're the bad guys. (Fans of Ushio and Tora know what I'm talking about.) I like the idea that the person who sees the old-fashioned warriors' obsolete ways and tries to find a better solution is the hero of the story.
>infected by a deadly virus
>magically disappears after keeping it from attacking the brain by strangling self for 10 seconds
>somehow turns his hair white even though he was supposed to have kept it from reaching his brain and it never did that for anyone else
Fucking stupid, and the fact they specifically went this route instead of just amputating his arm makes it extremely likely they want to go the hybrid superhuman route with him as well.
>the only way for humans to survive, is by lucking out by some cosmic coincidence that has nothing to do with regular human intelligence or strength
Getting kinda tired of this concept in anime
At least post a proper example.
>ED by EGOIST
His glasses fall to the left of the camera and are magically on his face for the last scene, after he falls to the right of the camera.
I can't believe the original Macross artist is working on this garbage instead of Macross Delta. Now we're stuck with a shitty moe idol Macross and a completely worthless attack on titan clone with that has good art.
No one wins.
We at least need SOME consistency in her depictions.
The Reloaded album has her with blue eyes.
Fair enough. It's still in the upper echelon of this season in terms of animation. If we base everything off episode 1. The shows that I saw that showed great artwork along with consistently nice animation was this, Stray Dogs, Hero Academia, Re Zero and Joker Game.
Am I the only one who really liked the clouds and the cloud animation?
Also I can smell a Kotaku article aaaaaaaany time now.
So do you have to watch the movie first before this?
Did anyone else pay attention to the bags?
Really interesting stuff.
Does anyone know what's actually going on with the universe?
There seems to be more to it than just trains and walls. That priest guy was pretty neat and I hope we get more of the various families and factions
Ikoma also gets some nice shots but the extra shading should be reserved for the beauties like Mumei and Ayame. Or you want extra shading for "muh bushi code" Kurusu or the fat friend?
/a/love for it feels fake as shit and like reverse trolling. Even MAL doesn't profess to have as much of a fanboying hard on for this show. I even thought the premiere was good and think these reactions are utterly fake
I want to know how it goes but the quality is killing me.
>written by the guy who gave us code gayass
Alpha and intelligent protag receives a gift that compliments his intelligence to fight back against an oppressive force. Through use of his gifts and display of his intelligence he amasses his own army to fight the oppressors but winds up getting cucked by the deuteragonist at every turn and is slowly driven to lower and lower depths until his ultimate demise by said deuteragonist but not before completely smashing the opposing force to shambles and chopping off its head.
So yeah, if you watch the asphyxiation scene again, you'll see the infection lines fade to purple along with the "core" area being pressent. Is this scarring alone or did he receive heart protection and increased strength/stamina?
At some point the church will probably be revealed as some kind of evil doomsday cult and the mc will get stabbed by the loli's brother. calling it now
>written by the guy who gave us code gayass
A OF THE FUCKING Y
He also got cool two-tone hair. Wonder how he's going to explain this to the church and Bushi
Not sure why would people think this will become top seller.
Recent year sales chart already told people Japan won't buy a show just become it have great animation quality, and so far the plot of this show is really generic.
And it seems to pretty much always be three tone and sometimes four on everything else.
>a studio whose recent anime got worldwide positive criticism decides to do exactly the same shit with 2 or 3 differences
Are you expecting us to gobble it up just because "heh lookz bretty"? If I wanted good animation with shit everything else, I'd go back to watching old Disney stuff.
>b-but they were selling it as a SnK 2.0 so it's okay to like it
No, it's not. This is the kind of behavior that gives rise to laziness from artists. If it sells good, more and more artists will capitalize on this kind of plot and stop trying. This kind of behavior is the VERY REASON why zombie movies invaded the movie industry some 20 years ago and destroyed the trope, or even the reason why capeshit has recently become completely uncontrollable.
You guys shat like hell on Black Bullet back in 2014 and now, it's "okay" to like this shitty show "becuz it lookz gud"? Fuck off.
If it is Aniplex publishing it they're really good at somehow convincing Nips to buy shit, but in terms of original anime they tend to top out around 8K for the first volume lately barely a discount or something.
I love Japanese steam punk. The last thing I remember with a similar aesthetic was Sakurai Taisen, minus the zombies.
That girl is a confirmed Kabaneri, right?
>girl has a ribbon
>takes off ribbon, eyes start glowing at the same time
>petite girl with frail body can suddenly slice a zombie's head clean with a shoeblade that's most likely not as sharp as a katana
Your guess, dude.
Chelly and EGOIST makes my heart go wild.
Is there going to be poster alongside their new single?
️Anime Original (so no sourceshitters to spoil everything)
️Great OP and ED.
Not just that, but compared and contrasted with AoT's world that suspiciously stopped advancing technologically and later
It turned out that the government was being controlled by titans who suppressed all technological advancements using the Military Police. This makes way more sense.
Making fun of science again? Didn't you get btfo hard enough last time
The album art is >>139843718
As usual, it's gonna be a square and text added.
It just occurred to me that of course since this is a Meiji-style steampunk; it's destined to shit all over the "old-style warrior's path".
IRL the Meiji restoration (violently) replaced the Shogun's Feudal Monarchy with a more modern Absolute Monarchy and a transition to Constitutional Monarchy. IRL, the last samurai were later defeated in the Satsuma Uprising by the Imperial Government.
Plus there was the whole industrialization & westernization thing.
I'll never understand this must summarily declare AOTS as early as humanly possible nonsense people are always on about. How does one even go about deciding this shit and why are there always like a dozen simultaneously. Just seems like a bunch of nonsensical baggage and shit people like to say and a dumb way to watch things. Like people can't just enjoy a show or not comment on it and then shut the fuck up ever anymore like they used to.
It's fucking retarded. I'm just going to come up with a whole bunch of arbitrary shit on the spot, say some more shit and then put AOTS at the end of my post. I'm a great fucking poster with tons to contribute and many interesting things to say about this season
>or why that magically erased the virus
Virus was burned off (or maybe it's actually bacterial, they just call them viruses out of convenience)?
>I still don't know why they didn't just cut off the guy's arm
Here's a relevant xkcd for your troubles.
I'm not even saying I thought the premiere was bad. I'd give a solid 7/10 and I was incredibly skeptical given the staffs track record. Just saying it's getting a little MAL in this thread. I'm expecting somebody to leap out at me with some terrible sentence structure and a litany on why shit is the hypest of the hype and they just can't handle it anymore cause it's making them vibrate in place. Also you just know that /a/ is going to flip flop on the show in the long run and pretend that none of this early reaction ever happened cause it's all part of the usual shitposting motions this board likes to go through.
This is like at least the third show I've seen people try to declare "AOTS". Shit has absolutely zero meaning, it's just stuff people like to say because they can't just say they enjoyed something anymore like 99% of the rest of the planet outside the Western anime community
If you say so. It's been missing in TV anime largely since the transition to computer assisted animation for sure. Still don't see how that relates to anything I just said though.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day,/a/ both gobbles up and shitpost about every single popular anime and then claims it liked/hated it all along depending on the general reception.
Pretty much accurate in all honesty. I don't think any fanbase bandwagons on shit more often and faster than the modern anime one that need their hype trains and AOTS or goddamnit what's the point. Shits fucking ridiculous, personally I just watch stuff and make up my own mind and it works well enough for me.
i'm 90% sure they'll finish this with an open ending, and maybe push 2 or 3 more seasons depending on how successful it is.
If anything is going to stop it being the next AoT however, is the lack of easily duplicatable symbolism for merchandising.
Hence why I always say anime fanbase is fake as shit, especially /a/. I really only tend to browse episode threads for things maybe once at the beginning of a season and once at the end just to see how much people flip flopped completely on a show or not otherwise I just stick to the post some hot chicks or discuss x topics ones cause it's all just a bunch of bullshit reactions anyway. /a/s at least still not as bad as youtube reactions where you can see the morons face and hear their voice and they're pulling their hair back and pretending to freak the fuck out over random shit. At least not yet.
I said outside the Western anime community, not other places besides 4chan that discuss anime. Besides I'm seeing mostly positive but also mixed reactions elsewhere anyway. A few troglodytes on MAL or wherever doing the usual BEST ANIME EVER thing is hardly unusual for this kind of show anyway.
Why cant the MC use a cool weapon instead of a blender with a drill?
Why not a steam powered katana?
I don't think they want to walk between towns, and keeping the train running all the time would wear it out, not to mention constant attacks, so having city stations makes more sense
Trade, transport (obviously), communication, resource acquisition
They're the most durable, safest, and most cost-effective way of doing this with hordes of Kabaneri out in no man's land
>muh animation quality vs story quality
>muh snk clone
Shut the fuck up. Yeah, the quality is good. Yeah, the story may have a few parallels with snk. Yeah this show will probably develop a cancerous fanbase.
So fucking what.
Complain all you want motherfuckers, we all know you're going to keep watching it because you can't fill that void inside of you with anything else other than cartoons from a small island thousands of miles away which is in a language you probably don't understand.
See you Thursday, faggots.
