>tfw people try to reason with with shitposter nitpicking
>yfw this disposable character has more shading than an entire season of anime
I have a simple question that someone has probably brought up.
When they bit that guys arm, what stopped them from simply amputating his arm before it spread? I mean, the spread is highly visible.
Probably them panicking. It looked like a pretty stresfull situation so they probably followed the regular protocol.
On the other hand it might have something to do with them thinking its a curse and not a virus.
>When they bit that guys arm, what stopped them from simply amputating his arm before it spread?
They think it is a curse. There is no point in chopping his arm if they are going to kill him anyway because of fear.
Also when you are busy running away from zombies, maybe dealing with cripples is not best thing, especially if they can't fight.
1. Edgelord garbage that pretends to be serious but uses retarded logic. Example: When someone gets bitten he is forced to kill himself with other people holding a gun at him practically forcing him to do it!, whilst yelling "Do it for honor man". How in the fuck is it honorable to kill yourself if you're being forced to do it? It's not noble if you're forced.
2. No one in the show decides to just cut the arm and stop the infection before it spreads; but instead stare at the guy and start going full panic mode.
3. The setting has been proven illogical right away when it shows people getting inspected by bite marks. Something that happens AFTER THE TRAIN ENTERS THE CITY! How are these people still alive?
4. To add on to the previous point. What would be the reason to inspect the people when it is prevalent in the finale scene of the show and the first scene of the show that it only takes like a minute for you to become a zombie? Any infected person would go crazy by the time it takes for you to get undressed and inspected.
5. To make it even more confusing, all side characters state how it takes 3 days to become a zombie when it clearly, nearly took over the protagonist in a minute and various other people. Oh my lord!
6. The excuse for the protagonist to hate the adults is also dumb. It is stated that "Those suspected of being a Kabane are to be locked up for three days and kept under watch." But still, yet again. It's shown that it takes only a minute for the infection to take over.
7. The evil adults lock him up for being a retard and keeps bitching about not losing his humanity to fear, but he lost his humanity to ANGER. Also it doesn't matter what you feel when you're bitten. You lose your humanity regardless of emotions so it's all fucked up logic for edgy teenagers to hate adults.
8. The survivors weren't allowed to leave the city because they all needed to take of their clothes and be inspected. YEAH GREAT IDEA! LET'S STAND AROUND FOR 1 HOUR INSPECTING EVERYONE FOR AN OBVIOUS VIRUS WHILE ZOMBIES ARE RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER! No.
9: Final point. Whilst everyone is getting eaten, the protagonist wants to test his zombie gun. So he plans to lure one of them with the smell of blood. Which makes no fucking sense once again. Why are they attacking people who AREN'T bleeding? Why would they follow a small trail of blood when they're thousands of people all around them when they're full of it. It's just an excuse for the edgelord protagonist to cut his wrists.
Bonus: Also he stops the infection by nailing his arms, chocking himself to stop blood going to his brain? Which for some reason didn't kill him and burning his arm that had the infection. This is so edgy I just might cut myself.
I mean I can forgive the train crew for not pioneering it, but you think someone else in a less vital situation would say "Fuck, why not try it? Worst case scenario we still need to kill him, but best case scenario it works and we get a huge understanding of how Kabane works."
Why did they let the bridge down early before checking if it was covered in zombies first? That whole shit storm could have been avoided if they had just waited to check if the train was messed up first before putting the bridge down. That's what they did with the first train.
I suppose. It's the first episode and I haven't read the manga (I know, what a pleb) but here's hoping someone actually does try amputation at some point. It seems like the kind of knowledge that could change a lot.
>The excuse for the protagonist to hate the adults is also dumb.
Sounds like somebody hasn't seen any Gundam.
>2. No one in the show decides to just cut the arm and stop the infection before it spreads; but instead stare at the guy and start going full panic mode.
If you paid attention then you would know that the average person views it as a curse you can't get rid of. That's why they suicide after getting bit. They don't know it's a virus.
The MC knows it's a virus because he's been studying them in secret instead of going day by day doing bare minimum survival. He wants to BEAT them, not just survive. That's why he was hording their body parts.
Thank god a kid knows better than all the adults in the world.
>inb4 the adults know it too and there will be some retarded twist where everybody in the higher ranks are EVIL and won't tell anybody the truth
The virus goes through the carotide, so he blocked it.
Jesus christ does people even watch the anime before complaining
Viruses don't just die because you prevent them from moving. Hell a virus isn't even alive in the first place.
Oh well, I don't even know why I'm nitpicking, the plot follows its own logic anyways. I suppose what mattered was showing the MC's determination.
But he's not a kid, he's clearly a teenager that's been studying his shit ever since the incident with his sister. The adults we see clearly haven't been studying them and don't care to since they just want to survive.
If you look at the time period, it's safe to say that there are few people willing to study or even touch a kabane. They clearly view it as a curse.
It's a stretch to say that ONLY the MC studied them, but it's clear that in this town, nobody gave a fuck to. We don't know a lot about the bushi except that they're the oppressing the populace to keep order. So maybe they prevented people from studying them due to the perceived curse.
If you noticed, every infected person was avoided like the plague.
He's calling it a virus, but I doubt he's actually taken a microscope to it. They probably won't really try to get into the science of it. It's magic, ain't gotta explain shit, etc.
Mangifera indica, commonly known as mango, is a species of flowering plant in the sumac and poison ivy family Anacardiaceae. It is found in the wild in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan where it is indigenous and cultivated varieties have been introduced to other warm regions of the world. It is a large fruit-tree, capable of a growing to a height and crown width of about 100 feet and trunk circumference of more than twelve feet.
The species appears to have been domesticated in India at around 2000 BC. The species was brought to East Asia around 400-500 BCE from India; next, in the 15th century to the Philippines; and then, in the 16th century to Africa and Brazil by the Portuguese. The species was described for science by Linnaeus in 1753.
Mango is the National fruit of India, Pakistan and the Philippines. The Mango tree is the national tree of Bangladesh.

MC is a fucking madman
instead of amputating his arm he goes the full length and sears it with glowing hot iron, nails some sort of iron brace to his torso and then proceeds to hang and stretch himself
how the FUCK did he know the virus would just recede and not wait until his carotid is opened again?
this shit is so attack on titan, I'll still watch it but the similarities are insane
In most zombie stories, medically it would be a death sentence to amputate since it's extremely dangerous to do so. Most people aren't doctors so they don't know where it's safe to make the cut and they don't want to be responsible if they died while the amputation is being done.(You can easily bleed out and there's usually no way to replace blood in these scenarios)
In the walking dead, they had a doctor character to guide them through the amputation process to do it properly so he wouldn't die as well as the fact they still had medical supplies.
So tl;dr: Amputation is extremely risky and dangerous.
Portholes of convenient size for grasping hands
Is this a battletrain or a fashion show?
He's trying everything he can to stop it
How easy do you think cutting your right arm with your left is? By the time he found something to do it with the virus would be past his arm
Honestly people you want to make this shows threads like this already. No wonder so many people said fuck it to these threads yesterday. Kiznaiver is going to have some tough shoes to fill on the most horrible threads of the season distinction
Not as dangerous as putting an explosive through your heart I imagine. People did just fine with a bonesaw and boiling pitch. Sue it's not up to modern standards but then again back then what was?
Yeah but again, these people view it as a curse. So when you think a magical curse is in you and there's no way no to be tainted by it then the only choice is suicide.
This is an asian society so it's pretty much "yeah I'm cursed so I'm killing myself for the good of the society" and there's also the lack of responsibility too.
You will probably feel responsible if you accidentally killed your friend while chopping his arm off but you kind of won't if he had to kill himself for the good of your civilization. That's the main reason they encourage suicide
Judging by the diction I'm guessing this is ThatAnimeSnob's reasons for hating this show. He likes to hate all anime that's popular and any anime made after 1980 that wasn't an OVA series released on VHS
Mayoiga looks like it will be a clusterfuck.
Well that's the thing
some shows are obviously not to be taken seriously
But this anime takes itself kind of seriously or maybe I'm just the retard
>AND a buswreck
I like this season
>Its written by Ichiro Okouchi, it will probably be fantastic by the end.
A curse is magic anon. And if you view the body language of the people who thought that one naked guy was a kabane, they refused to touch him
And in the beginning when they forced the guy to kill himself, nobody touched him
Superstition is often not logical
Just saying. If you saw a curse part slowly speading out, there's zero reason not to chop it off. What's, it going to do? Leap across the air gap? It's ignoring both logic and superstition.
>Bullshit infection what have you
>Cast already set except for the main female lead/heroine
>Main character uses YAMATO DAMASHII to fight back
Literally just enjoy the train ride into madness, chill out.
I wonder what the rest of the world looks like. Large parts of it that industrialized faster than Japan might be battling Kabane with much more success (unless the Kabane change tactics, which might be why so many are flooding the east)
Nigga, are you reading anything? Why amputate the dude when he should just do his duty and kill himself?
Why would you touch a clearly cursed man and potentially get yourself cursed too?
Why would you do any of that when the procedure is to kill yourself or kill them?
So yeah that is reason they're not going for amputation.
In the beginning? Before it got turned into an idea? there's zero reason for it to be an instantaneous curse when you can see it visibly spreading like that.
We will never see the rest of the world.
I (and others) assume that "magical virus" infections tries quickly get to brain, otherwise it weakens completely. Ikoma blocked Carotid artery and that's why it didn't get to his brain
>3 days to become a zombie
3 days is the quarantine period. I.e. a time period much longer than the normal progress of the infection after which they can be sure you aren't infected.
Superstition does not have logic. Again, people tend to not want to touch those who are cursed or even infected. It's normal human behavior.
People used to believe lepers were cursed. Hell even in modern times when someone says they have AIDs or HIV you can visibly see people making distance even though logically just by touching someone you don't magically get aids.
And if you paid attention supplies are probably an issue in this setting, you can probably infer why people would want you to kill yourself instead of amputating yourself, becoming useless in the process and then becoming another mouth to feed.
There's a buttload of perfectly normal reasons to not amputate in this setting.
>How does the suicide bag work?
Gunpowder and a fuse I imagine, small enough to destroy the heart when placed above chest, but not big enough to hurt the surrounding area? A shaped charge?
I summon /k/ for further technical details.
It was still in the tunnel when they started lowering the bridge. The fact that the train was on time, and thus exactly what they were expecting probably contributed to their carelessness.
The biggest factor was the whistle though. The show even bothered to have a shot showing you the kabane with his arm tangled in the whistle chain to make it blatantly obvious.
>Y'all are all a bunch of stupid goddamn superstitious pussies! YAMATO DAMASHII!
I can deal with this, but he could do with a bit more edge. At least he doesn't start out as some mopey fuck who shuts down at the sight of blood.
>ITT: snobs, pseudo intellectuals and other dunning-kruger effect victims trying to show their wikipedia knowledge
>MC looks much better than Eren.
>mfw everything looks awesome
This gonna be wild ride.
Aside from them thinking it's a curse, amputating an arm is not as easy as it seems. Specially without appropiate tools. And it spreads pretty quickly from what we saw when MC got bit.
KnK actually bothers to put a lot of hints and explanations in the show itself. Its fun to actually piece them together.
I'm glad they didn't feel the need to dump a bunch of dry exposition on our heads and chose to show, not tell.
>6. The excuse for the protagonist to hate the adults is also dumb. It is stated that "Those suspected of being a Kabane are to be locked up for three days and kept under watch." But still, yet again. It's shown that it takes only a minute for the infection to take ove
Maybe, they were a few exceptions, were the incubination time was longer...
I think it's heavily dependent on how you get wounded by a zombie in the setting.
the MC had a pretty deep bite on his arm so it looks like that's why it seemed to spread faster than the guy who just had a cut or a guy that got his thumb bit off.
I don't think the train workers typically have wounds like the MC did. So I think the whole "3 days" thing is how long it typically takes a small wound to completely zombify someone
>nice night sky
>in few rare scenes nice character animation - mostly MC and the girl
>CGI is shit
>washed out picture, Quake 2 8bit color pallete and brown lightning, unsharp dull and gray backgrounds
>shit looking zombies aka small titans
>tryhard ugly shading (for proper sharing see Gundam Thunderbolt), random - complete disregard of scene light sources and shadows. Sometimes so bad almost looks like Godeater
>QUALITY in non prime scenes, overall poor look of character except for fight scenes (pretty much same as SnK)
>poor special effects (smoke in particular, of which there is a lot)
>a LOT of still/minimum movement scenes and pans
ITT: WIT should watch Fractale to see how its done since it gets the old school look better, has better animation, better technical design and better direction . And for style and should have learned from Samurai 7
Also, Sunrise could have done it tons better as Gintama ask- in general it should decide what it wants to be: sometimes it looks like SnK, sometimes like poor quality Gintama, sometimes tries to emulate Robot Carnival style, but fails because lack of effort (and those scene dont fit the rest as stand out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oV0ZMBn9a6o)
Sure that would make sense. Still the main thing to understand is that the 3 days stated in the show was specifically for quarantine. I've seen a bunch of people get that wrong.
Seems clear enough. There's no reason to think it's an instantaneous curse when you can see it visibly spreading in such an obvious fashion. There's not even anything that even says it's an instantaneous curse. Them believing it's a curse that spreads is perfectly consistent with what this episode shows us. They're just too lazy to provide tools in case someone does get bitten.
They seemed to make a point that the society was cowardly in general and would rather be "better safe than sorry". That was the whole point of the scene with the MC confronting the bushi when the man should have been imprisoned rather than killed.
That metal plate thing and the patch of white hair are so damn hideous. Design = ruined
Also how did he drill the bolts in his back?
What shitty fucking writing, they could have at least made some excuse that "the bridge got stick in it's lowered position so they couldn't prevent the zombie train from entering"
The idea that they just let the trains enter the city without any kind of checks goes beyond stupid. BvS wasn't as dumb as this
Nah. Looks fine.
Is it just me or are the trains xbox huge or are the track just out of perspective with the village?
Does anyone have the .webm of this?
But what you don't understand is the clear body language of the people surrounding the cursed/infected person. They refuse to actually touch them.
Amputation would require someone else to touch them.
So logically in their point of view, it's just safer and better to kill them or have them kill themselves.
No, you just had to come from reddit.
It looked like broke protocol and lowered the bridge too early because they were relieved to have the train appear just as they expected. There was no need to have the bridge get stuck, by the time they tried to raise it it was too late and the partially raised bridged deflected the train though/over the wall. It looks like the wall wasn't made to withstand that because they expected any runaway to fall into the gorge. Shitty planning and fuckups on infrastructure happen all the damned time even when there isn't a zombie apocalypse.
That scene where they suspected the guy of being bitten was stupid, the bite marks leave big telltale purple rashes that spread across the body in a matter of seconds. It would have been pretty easy to actually tell whether he had been bitten or not.
when was it mentioned she was Kabane again?
Also I find it impressive that he was able to make so much progress considering not only the bushi were censoring research on Kabane and Destroying any specimens but germ theory wasn't particularly widespread during the industrial era.
The logical assumption in a zombie outbreak would have been making all the trains stop before the bridge. That way, if something unexpected happened, the bridge would not be lowered
>10 points for MC getting any boost in strength, speed, etc because virus host
>15 points for MC being immune to further bites now that he's a host
>20 points for MC being invisible to the zombies because he's already a carrier
Can you think of any other ones? The higher the points, the worse the wreck.
points for MC getting any boost in strength, speed, etc because virus host
This is pretty much a given. he wouldn't have undergone his le ebic white hair transformation if he didn't become some kind of superhuman.
>He somehow did not perforate his lung
Huh, so it looks like the steam rifles are lever action.
I don't get this magic virus. I mean if all it takes to kill the virus if is to keep it from reaching the brain within a certain period of time that would make some sense. But why was that one prisoner alive and not a zombie for so long even though he had been bitten? Why is there a rule set up to lock people up 3 days? If the virus can make it to MC's brain in 1 minute why does it take 3 days for some random fag?
points for MC being invisible to the zombies because he's already a carrier
PV already shows that's one's not true and the boost is basically guaranteed.. Those three scenarios are all reasonable though.
It's possible smaller marks or different vectors could make the infection work differently. The implication of that scene certainly was that they have familiarity with infected people who still looked outwardly normal at first. Mumei had the whole "how could you tell" line for example. The fast ones they showed us were all big juicy bites with a chunk of flesh gone.
>100 points for MC gets randomly attacked by the virus several times which causes him to become a zombie and attack his friends, but turns back to normal because of power of friendship/love.
Looks like zombies are not so stupid
Probably not because Mumei is fine
Given. 2nd episode preview shows him being stabbed in the heart.
Seems likely. Maybe he just has to avoid getting bit on the head
Nah. Previews had plenty of brawling with zombies.
After I lost interest wading through this sea of shitposts, dumb or outright false criticism let me just share with you my opinion: This is the best anime of the season and everybody will love it. Stop being a faggot about it: Reddit will love it, 9gag will love it, normies on facebook will love it.
Just accept it and enjoy the show which judging by the first episode is an original spin off of the old and tired zombies bullshit which was an epidemic itself. This will put an end to that and luckily it will be a glorious end, you won't need to watch zombie shit for a long time after this. Peace out faggots.
Please be a fucking troll. Watched this earlier and animation was the last of my complainants. Hell, it wasn't even a complaint
If animation was a problem for you this episode than every anime this season must look like complete ass.
Calm down with shippinglasses
As far as we can tell from trailers and such, Ikoma isn't going to be truly cured. He just didn't lose his mind in the process.
What prisoner are you talking about?
3 day rule must be a mix of paranoia, ignorance and government manipulation, since most regular people don't know anything about how this work and think it's a curse.
Care to elaborate? You do make some valid points but I don't quite understand this one.
Does he hate all adults?
He's talking about how others shouldn't lose sight of who the real enemy is. (them, not us mentality) Not sure how they translated that. But that's the gist of what he said.
It's a flaw of the 'officers' not applying the law relatively. It's deliberate but actually quite common. It's due to rational fear.
Good point. But you do know women bleed out of their vajayjay at a certain time every month right?
He should've died. Pretty much. Or he should've become a cyborg and cut of his arm. He went full No.6 (or Tokyo Ghoul for the newfags here)
As for anyone not actually replying to Xir's points. What's wrong with you?
Fuck yeah bro. We're bringing the real animes back
WHY IS /a/ SO FUCKING STUPID
ARE YOU SO USED TO THINGS SPELLING EVERY LITTLE DETAIL OUT FOR YOU THAT YOU CAN'T PAY ATTENTION AND SEE WHAT'S HAPPENING ON SCREEN? BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS PRETTY DAMN CLEAR.
WE JUST KEEP GOING OVER THE SAME TOPICS OF ''WHAT DID CHOKING DO'' OR ''WHY DID THEY LET THE TRAIN IN'' WHEN THEY'VE ALREADY BEEN ANSWERED NOT ONLY HERE BUT IN THE SHOW ITSELF
>Or was that supposed to be the kid's parent?
I think it's safe to say this. This implies we're going to have the whole
>are they dead/they deserve a right to live as they're intelligent beings-episode movement
I'm sorry but just because it shows something happening doesn't mean it's a logical conclusion.
The chocking was something never even researched before.
The 'lets signal' implies the zombies have intelligence. However it also implies they should've known this. And have different security. They also shouldn't have had several security gate tiers to prevent an outbreak
No wonder stations are getting fucked if that's all the security they have.
Seriously, how do they know if there are no zombies hiding under or between the cars?
Hell, when the second one comes they start to lower the bridge before even checking how the train looks.
They set up the choking in the earlier scene talking about the arteries in the kabane hearts and implying it supported some earlier suspicions. The clues were there if you're paying attention, they just didn't feel the need to spell out absolutely everything for the audience.
Ikoma's coat looks so comfy
Reminds me of Robin's tactician cloak
holy FUCK that was a good first episode
is there a webm of her wriggling her cute foot out yet.
Will this go the way of Aldnoah?
>hyped first episode and everything else is garbage
Motherfucker, are you doing it on purpose
Horrible security. Retarded procedures when trains arrive. Cages where they keep the kabane suspects are made from wood and are guarded by one guy. Just one layer of walls. Train tracks going straight into the city. Nobody thought about using their suicide shaped charges to kill kabane. MC cutting his writs to attract a zombie when hundreds of people were getting eaten all around him.
>thinks that the best form for a fortress is a big circle
Except japanese castles had multiple layers of defense.
They must be idiots in the show otherwise how would zombies get them?
>He might've only just restriced blood flow so well that the infection stopped
That would be pretty silly, anon. He would've caused permanent brain damage long before the infection magically stopped from not being able to reach his brain.
It was spreading through his bloodstream in every direction and stopped the moment it reached his hand where he was clutching the crystal. He just slowed down its progress towards his brain by constricting his bloodflow, so it reached his hand first instead.
They put way too much emphasis on the unexplained jewel in his hand during that scene. It's the macguffin, which means this story is going to take a "follow the magical macguffin to unravel the mystery behind the setting" approach.
plot point not a plot hole
>Retarded procedures when trains arrive
It makes sense that if the train whistles everything is clear, in fact that is probably their signal
>Cages where they keep the kabane suspects are made from wood and are guarded by one guy
They don't keep real Kabane there it's just for show and to put people like Ikoma away
>Just one layer of walls
Limited resources? (this one is just conjecture)
>Train tracks going straight into the city
This is dumb, but not really a plot hole
>Nobody thought about using their suicide shaped charges to kill kabane
I'll give you this, the people of this world seem pretty set in their ways
>MC cutting his writs to attract a zombie when hundreds of people were getting eaten all around him
I don't see a problem? He needed to attract one to test his piercer and that's the quickest way
The gem is just a talisman. Probably from his childhood friend or sister that got killed.
The important part is that his breathing stopped with the strangling himself part.
See: Mumei and her bandage. She is a Kabaneri and has super human power because she also survived a Kabane infection.
>Nobody thought about using their suicide shaped charges to kill kabane
>I'll give you this, the people of this world seem pretty set in their ways
They probably aren't powerful enough.
>I'll give you this, the people of this world seem pretty set in their ways
This is one of the few points the show answered in a logical in-universe way.
The hearts of the Kabane are too hard/armored to get pierced by most things.
>He needed to attract one to test his piercer and that's the quickest way
Not trying to nitpick here, but that's like saying
>Why did he nail a plank to his forehead? Well, he needed to forget about his girlfriend dumping him and that was the quickest way.
It's just something that's way over the top and ridiculous. I'm not gonna keep repeating 'But why do zombies follow the smell of blood!?!" because that makes perfect sense and the other anon is a retard, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a needlessly dangerous and boneheaded plan.
He heard specific kabane chasing specific people and started his trail there. As for the blood, that seems like a standard sort of action movie type exaggeration. He's just that much of a badass etc.
Why didn't he just cut his arm off instead? Or at least strangle the blood flow? I'm the time it took him to fix the straps, bolt himself, work the machinery and so on, he could have just cut off his arm or done to it what he did to his carotid arteries. It would have been quicker and would have posed a much, much smaller risk of him dying.
So? You're assuming these work just like those do. Their tech is obviously weird if they're using pneumatic steam guns and the suicide packs are designed for use on a human. The type of R&D you're talking about is essentially what the MC is doing and it seems to be set up as atypical and weird.
Thread looks sane. It still is shit but the last ones are shittier. Are the shitposters asleep or something?
He a stubborn fucker and he'd figured out the artery thing earlier in the episode. He seems like the kind of guy to bet his life on proving he's right and everyone else is wrong. Plus this way we have a MC with two arms.
>They set up the choking in the earlier scene talking about the arteries
Doesn't excuse jackshit. If choking would've been proven to work they'd have experimented more. This is just a fucking gamble they had no real reason of believing would work
>you're just stupid
fuck off, not an argument
They probably have stations built over mines for coal.
The first episode had a long shot of the station which showed rice fields within the wall, so they just farm within the confines of the walls.
Wood is anybody's guess, since I don't suppose they have stations big enough to encompass entire forests and they obviously can't safely harvest lumber in open areas.
The strict, totalitarian military dictatorship and stratified society make it pretty obvious that not having enough food and resources to go around and distribution being controlled by the conservative elite will be a major theme.
From the way that they talked about supplies and whatnot, they probably have stations dedicated to generating specific resources, like farming-based stations and the like. They seemed really dependent on whatever supplies were being transported, so individual stations are probably not self-sufficient.
Yes, this. It's been one episode; how many shows explained EVERY LITTLE DETAIL in the first Goddamn episode?
Also, if they did that, you autists would complain about it being an infodump.
they probably are, just not all bushis are skilled marksmen/swordsmen enough to do it at a consistent bases. most of time they probably just shoot and chop kabanoses till they stop being a threat, and not necessary completely killing it.
>Doesn't excuse jackshit. If choking would've been proven to work they'd have experimented more.
we're talking about a backward feudal society here. logical and scientific thinkings aren't their strong suite. just look at how they look down on the engineer caste.
America. Admiral Perry sold them to Japan before the steam zombies attacked, but they were too busy preforming seppuku to heed the warnings that it would be a robot zombie anime and stock up on steampunk power armor.
This should be obvious.
>just look at how they look down on the engineer caste
They should enjoy being on top while they can, because their days are numbered.
He's too hot blooded to care
The kanabes seemed like that were pretty strong. They were wanting the armored train just with their fists. Handing knives to your soldiers would probably be good, but don't expect them to get much done.
I hope for UNDEAD MASTER RACE plot twist then. Fuck humans
>logical and scientific thinkings aren't their strong suite
But war requires scientific progression. If you're saying logic and that ain't their strong points how did the weapons they currently use came to fruition? We know there exists at least a faction capable of makign these weapons, and lets ignore the trains that are clearly massive so that also implies they've got more than enough resources to have more layers of security. And carrying resources from one place to another would also be extremely easy with trains.
I didn't understand that part at all
They established earlier in the episode that the train comes to a complete stop on the other side BEFORE the bridge is lowered, yet they preemptively lowered the bridge there before even seeing the train coming.
The train also completely destroyed their checkpoint there when it crashed, so it'll now raise the question of how subsequent trains are going to pass through that station with the rail busted up.
No, being effective at it requires those things, unless you're fighting someone who isn't much better at them then you are.
Organized, driven science wasn't a huge, widespread thing until the Renaissance or Enlightenment.
so I just watched the first episode and I don't like it
visually it's great, the setting is interesting. but that's it.
none of the characters are likeable, the people in general are retarded, male protag has edgy past and special powers even though he's a dumb kid, female protag also has special powers and can magically decapitate stuff even though she's just a dumb girl
most of the episode has been cringy as fuck to watch. even though they are able to build all this ridiculous infrastructure they are too retarded to make a safe design for their cities that can't just be overrun like that
what a fucking waste
>They established earlier in the episode that the train comes to a complete stop on the other side BEFORE the bridge is lowered, yet they preemptively lowered the bridge there before even seeing the train coming.
The guards fucked up. The train was on time had need supplies and the whistle blew so the jumped the gun assuming things were fine.
>The train also completely destroyed their checkpoint there when it crashed, so it'll now raise the question of how subsequent trains are going to pass through that station with the rail busted up.
The train hit the end of the partially raised bridge and jumped up. Sanding onto/over the wall. If the bridge were up it probably would have crashed into the gorge and plowed into the embankment down there. Still damaging, but much less so.
I'm going to guess the kabane's skin is tougher than usual.
>Whilst everyone is getting eaten, the protagonist wants to test his zombie gun. So he plans to lure one of them with the smell of blood.
This is a fair point though. There are zombies literally fucking everywhere. Why not take the fucking gun with him and shoot one of the zombies instead of fucking cutting himself?
Not only that but, what the fuck he actually cut his fucking wrist. Are you serious?
It was strange when they were kinda just staring at everybody running around screaming, and didn't react until one of the soldiers opened fire on them and let out an enormous wail.
Fair enough, that makes sense.
Didn't pay attention to whether or not he had a portable compressor. Just figured since everyone else is using one that he must have one too.
Speaking of which, what's the difference between their guns and his? Both seem to be compressor guns of the same kind
Stating the obvious but she is the cutest!
That's a very shallow and therefore insulting statement. She didn't even have more than 2 minutes of screentime yet. Do you think she'd like you making such shallow and lustful statements before actually getting to know her?
She'd feel like you don't actually like her as a person.
Yeah, they start to attack after soldier shot kabane. And one of them start screaming. Pic related. Looks like this girl is pretty surprised
I think during the conversation they had near the beginning of the episode, one of the other engineers brought up using explosives instead of steam for the propellant and he tried to leave to try that. I assume that's what made his weapon finally work.
The Bushi are essentially using compressed gas BB guns with lead bullets. It should be noted that lead is used because it fragments easily on impact and the fragments are more likely to be lethal to humans. This is the same property that makes their guns insufficient for damaging the armored heart of the Kabane. The Bushi deliberately stick to weapons more effective against uninfected humans because their focus is not on killing or fighting Kabane, but on maintaining military power over their population.
MC's stake driver gun-thing uses something denser and apparently is explosively driven rather than simply pressurized.
>actual discussion on the setting of an original sci-fi series
It's always fun. We don't get to do this often enough anymore because most originals coming out for the past while have been low-effort shit and adaptations are always inundated with ESL primaries trying to be an authority on everything by parroting chinese summaries they read in broken english.
It's not just one person.
/a/'s pandemic of people who can't effectively communicate in written english is pretty obvious for anyone to see. It's gotten bad over the past year.
Case and point:
>Are you same guy who post
>in every ongoing threads
>Organized, driven science wasn't a huge
Huge enough to have weaponry. There must be a faction experimenting with the virus. The chocking is an asspull that hasn't been established before
She gives me La Blue Girl flashbacks.
she didn't seem to have much experience though, since her foot got stuck after all, and I refuse to believe that was just degenerate fanservice
So it goes away as long as it doesn't reach the head? The entire metamorphosis? in mere seconds?
Regarding the virus scene, there are major reasons why it is ridiculous.
For one thing, if you are going to kill the virus via a lack of oxygen then how is it the mc is still conscious? From loss of blood to the amount of pressure on his neck, he should have passed out.
We see the mc try to stop the virus via adding heat to it but that didn't stop the virus. The mc just got burned really badly on his arm and yet we don't see a whimper or even shouting expressing pain.
Then there's introducing high temperature steam to your chest. There should have been scalding burns on the entire inside of his thoracic cavity. If that doesn't kill you, the sudden over-pressure in the heat probably will.
On the thermal note, raising your core body temperature quite a bit, as well as filling the air with water vapour might cause you to die of heat stroke.
Care for anyone to explain this?
He doesn't kill it with lack of oxygen, he just stopped it from reaching his brain through his carotid arteries by pressing down on them really hard. I guess the virus somehow couldn't squeeze through. Yes, it's stupid.
>you will never get beheaded by Mumei's delicious feet.
True but if people are inputting logic to defend this than there should be logic to criticize it as well.
He should have passed out first then the virus slowly go back to being in remission.
Would be fun but no one would be driving the plot.
That is on the level of fairy tail's nakama will give me power crap.
Adrenaline doesn't stop you from passing out though.
>virus slowly go back to being in remission.
You're assuming you know how it "should" work, or that its analogous to a real world virus. For all we know it could be some kind of large scale parasite. It certainly doesn't look like it behaves like microscopic nucleic acid replicators.
