Seriously though, I think he's missing the mark ever since 5cm/s. This guy thing was DRAMA with "haha look at this faggot" endings like the stuff he did with Beyond the clouds/Hoshi no koe.

This is what I thought as well. Less quiet introspection, more of a sense of youth. I can totally see it being one of those movies where a character screams at nothing to relieve stress (which I usually hate, but maybe I won't this time?). Not to mention the fact that the plot seems interesting.
