Why do Japenese children use christian crosses to bury their dead?
How do we summon Hiroyuki to play Butter-Fly on /a/ as a background music for a day?
After a dream that never will end, in a world made up of nothingness
It almost seems as if, that all of our beloved dreams are about to lose and...
Even with unrealiable wings, covered in images that tend to stay
I am sure we can fly, on my love
Fuck, I'm actually crying right now.
I'm actually glad they didn't here.
The OP here was stupid, but the madmen actually kept butter-fly at the last scene of adventure, when they are on the bus with Mimi's hat flying.
It's such an iconic memory to me that I actually think it's better that way.
“I’ll become a happy butterfly, and ride on the glittering wind
I’ll come to see you soon"
“If we take our time, and we stick together, everything we do,
will go our way. And if we try, now and forever, no matter what comes next,
we’ll be okay.”
I DID NOT NEED THIS SHIT THIS MORNING!
wait what he was recovering from cancer HE WAS RECOVERING THEY FUCKING LIED
Here we go.
It's the same thing with Iwata. It doesn't have to be your fucking relative to care, it's the fact people care for what this man has done for their childhoods, including this guy here as well. I'm not as effected sadly because I didn't really even know him period until just now, but others care and I understand how they feel. Iwata, although I didn't know him much either, I known him just from the Nintendo Directs and know he was the one behind great things like Pokemon, Earthbound, and mostly, Smash Bros. So I can have a bit of feels when I heard of his passing, and why I get people here on how they feel as well.
>not edgy or anything
>why do you faggots give a fuck about this
Because caring is better than complaining about others doing so. That's more humane than what you're doing. You wouldn't like it if you had someone you cared for get shit on like your doing. Learn to be a better person.
>I want to become a cheerful butterfly
>and ride on the shimmering wind
>I'm coming to see you now
>It's better to forget those unecessary things
>There's no more time for us to be fooling around
>I wonder if we could reach the sky
>but I don't even know what my plans are for tomorrow
>Followed by an endless dream
>In this world without anything
>It seems like we will lose our beloved dream, but
>even with these unreliable wings, full images that tend to stay
>I'm sure we can fly
>On my love
It's like he's still talking to us. ;_;
I'm thinking he had complications afterward. My friend's mother recovered and then it came back twice as aggressively and took her. Might be what happened to him. Cancer is brutal.
Fuck, I loved Butterfly and Biggest Dreamer. Would watch Digimon on local cable just to listen to those songs. And to think this happened just as it seemed he had recovered from his cancer. I guess listening to those two songs wouldn't be the same ever again.
Also, this should be stickied. And did his death trend in Japan? I'm not seeing his name or anything Digimon related in the list of trends in Japan.
Butterfly is one of the most iconic anime theme songs of all time.
Not always. I remember when Miyu died her name was trending, with no hashtag.
>42 years old
fuck damn, that opening is still one of THE best ones of all time
Holy shit this is the last thing I wanted to happen. I am heavily back into Digimon with the reboot and I love every song he's done for the series. I am too steeped in nostalgia to handle these feels.
I'm about to cry bros. At least he managed to create amazing news versions for Tri.
Sleep well in the the Digital World, Wada-san. Thanks for my childhood.
>tfw persistent raspy cough and constantly clearing phlegm from throat
>probably lung cancer and i don't even smoke
I live on the same side of the world as him and pretty much everyone here is devastated.
He was a big part of everyone's childhood and of us weebs in general.
I know you're baiting but you're just a random dude on the other side of the world who won't inspire as many lives as mr. Wada did.
Keep up with your edge and probably your friends and relatives would think of you as just a random dude when you leave this world
I have a bad polyp on my vocal chords but its not cancerous. Does make my voice super fucked up though and I can't talk for more than an hour straight before it gives out completely. I also wake up a lot with coughing fits.
Doesn't help that I'm a girl so I always sound like I have a bad smoker voice. Since its not life threatening it would cost a lot of money to fix it.
I'm happy with how good the latin american spanish version is, main reason i gave the show a chance was thanks to hearing this and getting hooked right away.
Fuck, have Butterfly on my phone, it will never be the same listening it
I am absolutely down. I'm off work tomorrow so I can sing all day. It's the not crying part I'll have to worry about.
There's even an official Tri instrumental for Butterfly. ;_;
We should use something like this
[YouTube] Butter-Fly [Piano Version] (Original Karaoke) (embed)
Also, we should start a new thread if we're going to make it
Do you think he is free? To walk the greenish fields of that blue sky of a world of spring? Where they awaited him for so long? In the digital realm?
I feel sad.
>To walk the greenish fields of that blue sky of a world of spring?
>To walk the greenish fields of that blue sky of a world of spring?
What does your heart tell you?
>Oh cool, a Digimon thread
Fuck. I didn't need this today.
Childhood memories, finally over.
I can no longer have the ability to see what children see when playing across those empty fields, carrying nothing but sticks while laughing.
I. can. no. longer. see, it.
>To the future, in the sky
>The feeling remains
>Believe it! It's my soul
>Anywhere we go
>Lead the way! In the sky
>Bring everyone along
>Believe it! It's my soul
>Lightly, soar high
I'm gonna post some of Wada Kouji's songs that comes to mind (besides Butterfly)
Rest in peace. I'm going to pay tribute by listening to Butter-Fly on repeat for the rest of the day.
If you don't die in the Digital World, you don't come back
this is so unfair!
;_; goddamn, digimon wouldn't be the same without him i hate the current year
>kouji was my age the first time he sang butterfly
>Kouji was my age when he passed away
Am I next on the chopping block?
>stick Naruto and BELIEVE IT for a whole day
>too retarded to stick this and buttefly
Wait a minute... in the thumbnail for that video.... who the hell is that between Mimi and Hikari?
Thanks Kouji Wada for a wonderful chilhood, RIP you great man.
Fuck, hold me /a/, I'm sad and crying.
Thanks god they didn't butcher it for us, it wouldn't have been the same.
I have to give thanks to based Mexico and Cesar Franco for this.
Best part was they used the original version of Kouji Wada's theme for the last scene of the last episode.
ALSO THIS, HIROYUKI and MODS, STICK THIS SHIT.
>Fuck, hold me /a/, I'm sad and crying.
>search for his twitter
>he posted a single good morning tweet every day up until April 2nd
here's his last ;_;
>おはシティーハンターのアニメを観て初めて歌を聴いた時、シビレましたね。自分が主人公になったつもりでいた（笑）『Get Wild』Get chance and luck ひとりでも 傷ついた夢をとりもどすよ主人公のクールな一面にも、あの小さな車にも憧れたな（笑）素敵な週末を
>Mornin'! The first time I watched the City Hunter anime and heard the song, I got shivers. Because I wanted to become the hero (haha). "Get Wild", "Get chance and luck, even if you're alone, you can take back your wounded dream o/~" The hero's cool image, and that tiny car, I wanted it so much.. (haha). Have a lovely weekend!
The one before that is sad as fuck.
It's always Digimon that manages to make me cry.
Better get inside the house, started to rain...
>please don't go
Digimon is unimportant and the American dub OP is superior.
>all these tweets starting with おはよ
Everything is going to be alright.....
He just woke up, that's all.
He had a long dream...
WHY ALWAYS THE OLD AN IRRELEVANT
RIP IN PIECE, YOU FABULOUS PIECE OF SHIT
Origa got her sticky and so will he.
I tried to ask in the Feedback, we will have to wait and hope now.
>moot leaving got a sticky here on /a/ despite it not related to anime and manga.
You are right faggot. He JUST was only related to full 4chan right? There was no reason to get a sticky, right?
He loved /a/ the most and created it in the beginning to talk about anime and manga when /a/ and /b/ where one so shut your fucking mouth you newfag.
But you are right in the part that Kouji Wada must get a sticky.
>Thanks god they didn't butcher it for us, it wouldn't have been the same.
>I have to give thanks to based Mexico and Cesar Franco for this.
>Best part was they used the original version of Kouji Wada's theme for the last scene of the last episode.
Just for the record, the original latino singer was Marc Winslow, i think
>Wada and his humor sense.
Might be wrong but cancer can hit anyone because it's basically just your DNA getting messed up.
That's why radioactivity causes cancer, it fucks up your genes.
Radioactivity aside, can't cancer hit anyone?
Your body is bound to makes mistakes when creating and assembling new DNA form time to time. It's just a matter of how that affects the body.
It can but 100 years ago it wasn´t like that because one died before it happened Now because of grow hormone on chickens and cows it accelerates and literally everyone could get it.
If you are worried about cancer I suggest eating brocoli, col, spinachs, shit like that makes that your cells split slowly. I would suggest stop eating meat but a life like that isn´t worth living
Every day I lose more hope.
>I would suggest stop eating meat but a life like that isn´t worth living
Yeah, just kill me.
Different genres is not making SAC better, you know?
Digimon Adventure did a great job with exploring characters issues and giving solutions to them. I watched it only recently since it wasn't airing in my country and enjoyed it, also the target audience of Digimon Tri is not kids anymore.
Watched Tamers as a kid. Shit is not for kids.
There is a sticky on horrible subs, but not here.
What's the beat sequence of Digimon songs for the mourning process?
I'm thinking it'd start off with Butterfly, middling with WE ARE XROS HEART X7 to bring you up then ending with Butterfly/Seven from Tri, for appropriateness and hope.
>SAC, a good show that not everyone is familiar with
>Digimon, a household name and a franchise that accompanied our childhood
Are you seriously trying to compare the two in terms of influence?
He isn't singing it, but this version is getting so much today.
It's like the chosen children really are singing for him in memorial.
I've never felt this sad from someone's death ;_; damn and he was still so young
>tfw grew up with the superior english opening
Paul Gordon just died too, faggot.
I rememnber that anon asking for submissions every 5 digimon threads (Did he ever finish it? Sent a submission but ever seen it done fully ;_;) or the small section in the k/a/mikyoku.
The fact /a/ never covered Butter-Fly would be a shame, considering how good and popular the song is actually.
It's so strange for me. My country didn't have a cover based on the original melody for the opening, but when tri. was announced, a band that usually composes music for cartoons arranged it.
here's both version for whoever cares
>your face when you never got to lisen to Butter Fly as a kid.
He wasn't able to attend the event because of therapy.
He wrote a letter about how the franchise came a long way, and his memories of recording Butterfly for the first time or something, and everyone started tearing up.
>there are kids who were poisoned and raped by "Hey Digimon" growing up
I was one of them
Too big to post.
I'm a burger, so Butterfly doesn't have any nostalga for me, but this one made me tear up at the end.
Is quite curious how is not Akiyoshi Hongo who passed away but Kouji Wada, the person who sang an opening of an anime which happens to be quite memorable and easy to identify by many even after 16 years, you think digimon would have the same impact if it wasn't for this song? Is practically THAT digimon song we think about when we think about digimon. Here in mexico we had localize version of it which is also good but nothing beats the original. What's also great is that he sang most digimon openings and some other songs for the show, so is hard to separate Kouji with Digimon because he was there in all the seasons we saw. And even if he had other songs and some for other series, is thanks to digimon he became big. Rest in Peace Kouji Wada, your songs will always be heard for years ahead
The end of the second season is literally Oikawa dying and becoming butterflies to restore the Digital world
Rest in Peace my good friend, we will never forget you.
>shit like that makes that your cells split slowly
Don't talk about shit you don't understand.
Cancer isn't caused by hormones in chicken, vegetables don't make your cells split slowly (whatever the hell that means) and chemtrails is just steam.
Back to /x/ with you.
Seeing his early live version to the later ones is heart wrenching! It really shows how he started and slowly got harder and harder to sing and its... like MAN! And the audience and other singers adding themselves in to support him...! Damn!
It also makes me wornder how many times he had to take takes for each song, how hard it was to get those perfect ones we heard as the openings and inserts.
>name starts with Dai/Tai like the other Goggle Boys
>has star shirt just like Taichi in season 1
>knows about Digimon
>got with his childhood friend like all anime protagonists
He's one of the original chosen, isn't he?
>Last past week i have been listening to digimon songs, just because i felt a urge to do so
>Most i have handpicked are Wada's ones
>Today suddenly i know he's gone
¡Si tu lo deseas puedes volar!
No hate allowed on this tread, not today.
The last two times I cried was today (not due to his death however) and the ending of the pre adventure ova thing over a year ago.
Despite not growing up with butterfly and this being one of my first real listens to it, I cried pretty hard at both the emotion in the song varient used and Taichi and gaymon. Wada left a hell of an emotional mark on the work he did, he had an amazing charm to his voice and it conveyed a lot of feelings.
I'm going to Odaiba today to pay my respect while blasting his songs.
It'd be nice to see some connection to those kids. All we got was an incredibly vague idea of their existence and their silhouettes were just Tai's crew minus two.
Full on Digimon Adventure Zero season when?
They didn't seal Apocalymon, they sealed some other evil.
That was literally all that was said about them in the show. The novelization hinted that their partners would become the Holy Beasts.
See you in the Drift, you glorious Digital Dreamer.
Do you live in Japan? They have a fucking concert every year to celebrate Digimon, there's a slew of anniversary merchandise and everything. Digimon never died in Japan. And Adventure is considered a classic anime, along with Butter-Fly.
Tbh, having an annual concert about some forgotten show isn't really an indicator of how widespread or liked a franchise is, and neither is something being considered a classic.
I tried my hand at singing the piano version of Butter-Fly, to use in an /a/ sings or not. I also did an English one because it's just easier for me.
Pls no bully. :(
>about some forgotten show
Can't help but cringe every time I hear that, ever since I was a fucking kid.
But as I said here >>139802626, it made the end all the sweeter.
Pena que foi só na exibição original da Foxkids, resprises posteriores colocaram a porra da Angélica no fim também.
>oh, it must bebe filled with waifumon shitposts
I fucking wish they had made a direct adaptation of butter-fly here in BR instead of that digi-rap nonsense.
And to add salt to injury, we had an amazing track record of adapting op songs for our dubs at the time, I actually think Tamers and Frontier's BR versions were better than the originals.
It could be partially due to nostalgia, but the point is that they were really good.
>Gokigen na cho ninatte, kirameku kaze ninotte, itsuka….Minnna ni ainiikou."
>he didn't get to see tri to the end.
Why must the world be so unfair?
>see a digimon thread with lots of replies
>"oh, maybe they've released good news"
there are news.
they aren't good at all.
>cancer in his upper pharynx
I like all his songs, but I'd say "Evolution and Digixros ver. TAIKI" and "Hirari ~unplugged~ are my favorites.
But "Butter-fly" is by far the best, especially the last episode version.
