FUCK YOU GUYS SASAMEKI KOTO IS THE GREATEST YURI ANIME OF ALL TIME
PROVE ME WRONG
>>139787411
but that's not hibike.
>>139787411
it's actually pretty good
doesn't the manga end badly?
literally the only thing I remember about that is the trap
yuri is so boring and forgettable
>>139787411
No
So you never watched Candy Boy then.
Good ED

>>139787411
The manga is better.

They spent so much time angsting and dramaing that after they finally decide to kiss they have no time left to spend at school as a couple, because they're going to different universities. It doesn't matter though because they still see each other every day after classes and they live happily ever after.
>>139787411
>greatest yuri anime of all time
That's not really that impressive. Everyone knows that good yuri only exists in manga.
>>139790998
>"yuri" manga
>progressively focuses more and more on guys
>author gets upset when his manga gets cancelled
Well, at least the YH readership has some standards.
>>139791613
While I agree that Yuri Hime wasn't the best place for Yuri Danshi, it holds up surprisingly well as comedy. Although, why anyone would classify it as a yuri manga is beyond me.
>>139790219
>Oogami-Kun being being a beta every 2 seconds
Yeah okay
>>139790219
Yeah no. I couldn't even get past the first 5 episodes. It was that shitty.
>>139787411
Though it had no ending and the aesthetics looked boring
>>139791886
>why anyone would classify it as a yuri manga is beyond me
That's the point. It was published on a yuri magazine, people were expecting yuri and the author himself kept insisting that he was going to make it a work befitting of YH in the sequel, but he didn't deliver and instead left the readers with a hint of het romance.
I liked the comedy in the beginning, but when it became clear that it wasn't going to focus on yuri at all, it stopped being so funny.
The mango was better
>>139787411
The Aoi Hana anime is marginally better.
>>139795645
that's a problem on your side, not the anime's
>>139796852
This.

Not him, but my experience with the show was rather similar to be honest. I have to admit, I had to watch almost halfway through this series to realize it was pure unmitigated crap. During the first episode, the fight with the tentacle robot and Souma going WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY while Chikane and Himeko kissed made me think the whole thing was a parody at first.
>>139797617
Exactly.
My favorite is Blue Drop
>>139798357
This guy.
This guy right here.
THIS GUY GETS IT.
>>139787411
Get to my level
If you can't recall the OP and ED of the anime, it's not even in the yuri heavyweights.
Has no one really mentioned Sakura Trick?
Really?
Really guys?
>>139796852
And the manga is leagues ahead of that boring shitfest full of pointless plots arcs and flashbacks that go nowhere.
>>139802026
It's inoffensively good. It's benign. It's a fun little story about girls being in love and doing things, mostly each other.
It should be in contention, but best yuri anime needs a little more than that, whether it's giant robots or some kind of magic kiss-powered aircraft.
>>139802026
Sakura Trick is only good for the kisses, not for the plot.
>>139802229
> some kind of magic kiss-powered aircraft
underrated gimmick desu
>>139790219
This. KnM is basically the Code Geass of yuri.

Sasameki I loved the first time around, then I read the manga. The Manga is amazing, I just wish it didn't focus as much on side characters and more on the sweet sumiyuri.
Aoi Hana's anime is better than Sasameki's, but it's manga is a little worse. Especially that fucking rushed ending.
It's ok though because Octave is better than both.
>>139802688
>Octave
>not Girl Friends
>>139802688
Why do you like so much angst in your yuri? I dropped Aoi Hana because it was just so much fucking drama and there wasn't a single character in it that I actually liked. I only read it for as long as I did because at the time I thought I had to read everything yuri I could get my hands on.
Sasameki wasn't nearly as bad, but too much side character shit as you said. I dropped it when they were going on about the trap's modelling career, like I'm supposed to give a shit about that or something.
I actually finished Octave, don't even know why. The leads were retarded.
Literally anything by Akiko Morishima is leagues better than all of those three.
>>139803190
Yup I don't understand the praise Aoi Hana get, it''s just a bunch of indecisive idiots or assholes, Fumi is the only likeable character
>>139787411
Anime: Aoi Hana > Sasameki Koto
Manga: Sasameki Koto >>>>> Aoi Hana
>>139803190
Because I love angst, even if it is bad. It's shameful, but any angst gets me.
Aoi Hana was pretty weak on the characters, but it's what got me into yuri so I guess it holds a place in my heart.
I just loved the MC's in Sasameki a lot. And the trap. To me it just felt like it was getting weak when a shit ton of kouhais were being thrown in.
I loved Octave because it felt the most human to me, and Setsuko reminds me a lot of myself.
I'll check out Morishima, since I haven't been sure of what to read now.
I do love Candy Boy a lot though. shit's fukn cute
>>139787411
I can't. Fantastic manga and anime in every aspect and one of the overall best romance shows out there. Kazama and Murasame are both mircales of the universe.
>>139804581
>I'll check out Morishima, since I haven't been sure of what to read now.
You don't know yuri until you've read Morishima.
>>139802688
Sumi-chan > Fumi-chan
>>139807905
i gotchu. I'll have a look tonight then.
>>139808009
yesyes.
2009. What a year for yuri
>>139787411
Agreed. The anime mirrors the manga so closely though, with each chapter equaling one episode minus the penultimate one, that you could just read the manga and get all the delicious angst and comfiness that it provides.
However, you'd miss the nice music.
>>139807905
That's because she's an actual lesbian and open about it. They make the best yuri because they combine real life with the cuteness of 2D.
>>139809236
Most noteworthy 21st century female yuri mangaka are publicly lesbian/bisexual. At least the first big generation of them. Some of the newer ones, well, they ain't exactly the most public figures so the jury's still out.
>>139809638
Really? I only know of Akiko and Takemiya Jin. Who else is?
There is not enough rape.
Just watched the first episode of Blue Drops, what am I in for?
I certainly enjoyed it, first the animu, then the mango.
God, it's been two years already.
>>139810175
Bad end.
>>139809236
>>139809638
Do you have a source on this? Going to strip club with other mangakas doesn't count.
I bet you thought Yoshimura Kana was a lesbian as well.
>>139811091
Akiko drew another manga about going to a lesbian meetup. Not a mangaka or otaku one, just plain lesbians. Also read their afterwords, they talk about it sometimes.
>>139809983
I know about Akiko, but is Jin really a lesbian? I don't really remember her saying openly that she is gay, only that she doesn't has interest in relationships and that she married a girl in Fire Emblem.
>>139811091
I don't know about others, but Morinaga Milk self-inserts into yuri situations and gets enraged when her waifu gets dirtied by the touch of a man.
>>139811459
It's mentioned in one her afterwords somewhere.
>>139811498
That was 8 years ago, now she's only interested in cats.
Best girl in Sasameki was the only straight one.
Also, I remember watching this show with /a/ as it aired.
Posting actual best girls
>>139787411
If you cut out all the SoL shit with the psuedo-lesbians that's like what three anime.
In terms of manga its pretty good but Girl Friends is better.
Girl Friends
SUkoto
Fluttering Feelings
Lily Love
Virgins Empire
Their Story
Citrus
>>139811789
>>139812653
At least we can agree on worst girl, right?
>>139787411
It's second, after Aoi Hana.
>>139812970
I felt more sorry for her then hate.
>>139813266
This
She's even more pathetic than the trap
Hoshikawa Ginza Yonchoume is so freaking underrated.
>>139798357
>>139799516
I watched Blue Drop in 2008 and haven't rewatched it since, but I remember it made me incredibly sad throughout. I will never forget her ;_;7
>>139811789
>>139812653
But what about best boy?
I quite like Aoi Hana's op
