It keeps happening
>Last month he said he "really don't want to die"
It's not fair, /a/. Why do people have to die?
>Realizing that the third Tri movie is going to have a IN LOVING MEMORY message at the start
and just when I started thinking "the world may not be so bad, maybe I shouldn't kill myself"
>Nasopharynx cancer is the most common cancer originating in the nasopharynx, the uppermost region of the pharynx ("throat"), behind the nose where the nasal passages and auditory tubes join the remainder of the upper respiratory tract.
>Symptoms related to the primary tumor include trismus, pain, otitis media, nasal regurgitation due to paresis (loss of or impaired movement) of the soft palate, hearing loss and cranial nerve palsy (paralysis)
Meh. Nothing extreme.
Anonymous, cancer is basically your body going haywire during cell reproduction and fucking your shit up by producing stuff you don't need that interferes with the stuff you DO need. To cure someone of cancer you'd basically have to make sure every single cell in their body wouldn't go haywire ever from misfires during natural reproduction and if that was possible people would never fucking die.

This is why I am inventing a potion that will grant mangaka and anime developers of all sorts immortality.
They will provide me entertainment... forever.
No, no, no. You gotta be fucking kidding with me. There's no god. Fuck it.
Butterfly is an amazing opening.
>After an endless dream, in this world of nothingness
>It seems as if our beloved dreams will lose
>Even with these unreliable wings, covered in images that tend to stay
>I'm sure we can fly, on my love
RIP, Wada Kouji. May you fly on to sweeter dreams.
Well if Rica dies the only positive thing that might happen is that they finally decide to retire ash and get a new protagonist.
Don't forget to give FIRE attention too.
This has been a pretty emotionally week for me
Cancer's a bitch. If treatment missed even a single cell it can come back.
Worse yet is that often a tumor, because the cells are all incredibly fucked up by nature because they're ignoring or misusing all the usual DNA/chromosomal control systems, have high odds of having at least one cell by (bad) luck evolve some way to resist chemo treatments thrown at it, and if the cancer returns from that resistant cell then chemo may become useless and you're fucked. If the returning cancer is vulnerable to some kind of chemo but popped up in some organ where that chemo literally can't reach to work on (such as the brain), again you're fucked.
This happens a lot actually, which is why it's so common for people to have cancer but not die for maybe 5-10 years, because for a while it was mostly gone but then it returned in an incurable way.
>digimon will never have a Wada Kouji opening again
Hey mods if you're browsing this thread/or about to sticky could you please do something abou this shit?
otherwise sage for not /a/ related
It's an umbrella term for thousands of diseases really, which can all have unique ways of manifesting and needing very different treatments (if any exist - for example we are I dare say somewhat capable of treating some kinds of leukemia, but very bad at treating most liver and lung cancers).
Stopping it is and likely will remain be a long torturous process, fought bit by bit, tissue type by tissue type, mutation type by mutation type. I always cringe at the "walk for the cure" drives and such, fucking >implying any one thing could miraculously cure all types of even a specific range of it (like breast cancer).
Throat cancer's a bitch. ;_;
Digimon just isn't Digimon without a Wada Kouji opening. RIP.
God damn it. Butter-fly's been my favorite OP for a long time, and I've had X4B the Guardian stuck in my head plenty... along with almost everything else he did.
Digimon won't be the same. ;_;
Shame it wasn't Yuki Kaji though I guess.
Daily reminder that there is no God.
Even if it exist, he does not like us.
we have nowhere to reach or no one to pray.
>just woke up
>Wada Kouji died on the front page
More like why do the good ones leave so soon and the bad ones stay around for so long?
guess i'm listening to butter fly all day tomorrow
Also bad news to fall asleep to. I was just about to go to bed when I saw this. Now I can't sleep because I'm listening to Wada Kouji music while softly crying.
>tfw was about to go to sleep happy
>my life is a total mess
>lost hope for anything
>4th day in bed
>been playing ps4/vita and not studying, helping family /gf
>literally losing will to live
>can't be a hero beacuse I'm coward
>just learned about kojis death
I DON'T WANT TO WAKE UP ANYMORE
How can you be so wrong? Granted, putting the Burgerfags aside, the rest of the international dubs might have dubbed the opening and ending songs. I know Germany, Spain, LatAm and the Hue dubs did it, but the songs remained japanese in the evo scenes and the rest.
Man, even growing up with the American dub, no one can deny that Wada brought the heart and soul to Digimon with his songs.
At least this is helping me get over it.
She's nothing with her songs. Wada is a heavy classic for Japan. You got obviously large following for him on their net, and even offline with something like his song always appearing on the top of karaoke lists alongside Zankoku and non anime.
>the public one had a thing that could be called an opening, but it is so bad that I want to forget it exists.
Oh, right. I forgot you had a Pseudo Xuxa opening or something like that
Fuck off you pathetic piece of shit. Go to your love trash idolshit threads and project your cancer there. This is a thread for mourning Kouji Wada so leave if you're going to do this.
Don't worry, /a/. I'm studying and researching hard to destroy cancer. ;_;
Even in other asian countries Butterfly is always there in Karaoke.
Whenever I was back Hong Kong I use to always go K with friends and sing Butterfly.
Song was just a god damn classic.
Not to sound like a fag, but-
It's just a really sincere song. Even through the language barrier, even through the test of time, it pierces the soul and heart.
Yeah. Xros Wars Manga had this thing where it took a lot of influences from a ton of different sources. So you had the Tailmon and Wizarmon from Adventure, Zero from V-Tamer, and even a Ranamon.
Haven't read it in a while, but I think it ended with some sort of dimension-time warping monster so everything's just sort of mixed around, but it sort of makes sense if you read it.
No, you really don't.
Reading Kouji's tweets and stories are pretty sad as well; Guy always looked unhealthy as fuck but always stayed positive, man he was also happy as fuck Digimon finally came back.
Not as bad as Miyu Matsuki's though. Shit was depressing.
I'm dreading the day he dies because /a/ is going to collapse in on itself in shitposting, and I really don't want to see bad things being said about one of my favorite childhood directors on the day he dies.
Good night, sweet prince.
If I recall correctly you are clean only if you go for like 5 years without a single trace of it.
Man, cancer is fucking bullshit, and even if new experimental therapies are being discovered everyday, it's still a bitch, I wouldn't wish it even upon my worst enemy
Fuck I tought the death of some stranger would not affect me this much
Funny you say that, people have been pouring billions into mind-uploading technology.
The problem of course is does this create the Star Trek transporter situation where Kirk actually dies every time he's transported and a new him is created with all his memories up to that point
>everyone thought he survived the cancer
>even came back for Tri to perform Butterfly again and celebrate with everyone
It always hits the best people.
It's never a shitty person who goes away.
Damn I didnt need to know this, fuck you guys ;_;.
I dont remember much of the series, but now I feel the need to rewatch everything to honour him, in which order should I do it?
I still have the toys saved with the container and all ;_;.
>not recognizing Yoshinoya-sensei
I know you're casual, but there's really a limit to how casual someone can be.
> Participants sound younger each time
I think you're just getting older, anon.
It's a couple dozen random weeaboos. Quality's always been hit-or-miss, and no one expects anything else.
>those nights were suddenly you think about the inevitable oblivion of death and then sleep is impossible
Hold me, I'm scared
A steady average of people who could pass as adults in recordings shouldn't suddenly change to fuckwit 14 yr olds. It's just a showing of an infestation, posts have reflected them as well. It's like you're willing to say Eva posters from the past will sound like current posters whose core knowledge is Naruto.
>Butter-Fly was the first japanese song I heard
fuck this , why its keep heppening ?
i dont have the reason to live now
>I want to become a cheerful butterfly
>And ride on the shimmering wind
>I'm coming to see you now
RIP, Wada Kouji. May you fly on to sweeter dreams.
Shit, I never really care for anyone in anime industry whether they have problems or illnesses or pass away
But this news, it HITS me like a train.
I never managed to hear him live, despite events with him assisting having been planned twice on my country. It was always the disease that made him cancel them.
And now only the memories remain.
>Normally because Japanese medicine is pure shit. But he had cancer
>the highest average live span in the world
It is just that many creative people don't take care of themselves and die.
>people have been pouring billions into mind-uploading technology
No they haven't, for the exact reason that you mentioned. Your consciousness lives and dies with your physical brain and "uploading" it would just be creating a copy, doing nothing to lengthen your own life. The only way to create immortality would be to make the brain immortal, which will probably take a lot longer to figure out than humanity has left.
yeah this is definitely Digimonfaggotry level of insanity
Only due to recent showing, a recent zeitgeist. Butter-fly wasn't even featured in the anime-fest that featured big names like Michiro Izuki, Sasaki, Kageyama, Matsumoto, etc. back in 2000's.
Or was it meant to be a joke?
Last time I went to Japan it seemed like Wada was a pretty big deal. But that might just be because the tri hype was starting then I guess.
What? How does that change your memories? I've rewatched Adventure tons of times and although there are definitely problems with it I didn't notice as a kid that doesn't suddenly make my memories watching it when I was younger disappear or change at all.
I'm not sure, pretty sure it is as the following pic appeared in an article pertaining Wada Kouji on withthewill forums.
I'm pretty sure his official website has a picture of him wearing a Beelzebumon jacket too in one of his journals.
it's tri-hype, the usual shit
and basically you know the stuff you enjoyed wouldn't be as fun when you rewatch them
well I'm not a nostalgiafag as I'm willing to call out shit on old products, I already acknowledge Adventure being like that
I just rather want to keep my memories of the show fun rather than taint them with frustration.
That's just not true. I enjoyed Digimon just as much rewatching it in Japanese for the first time and I'm still enjoying rewatching it watching the Blu-Rays now. Yeah there are issues but that doesn't make it frustrating to watch or any less fun.
I know none of you will care, but in the midst of all this sadness I'm reminded why I want to be an artist. I'm an actor/musician, and seeing so many people around the world be touched, affected and moved to tears for this one mans death. It reminds me of the beauty and power that music and art can have across the world. While I'm no where near the performer he is, I can only aspire to one day have the joy and optimism he did and more importantly bring those feelings of happiness to people one day.
So long Kouji, fly along now, on our love this time.
>well I'm not a nostalgiafag
>I just rather want to keep my memories of the show fun rather than taint them with frustration.
So you're a nostalgiafag. If you weren't watching the show now would have no bearing or "taint" your memories with the show. That's just fucking retarded.
I mean nothing wrong with not wanting to watch it again, but you're definitely a nostalgiafag.
And they are immensely popular and basically "legends" in Japan.
I really don't like the slog of the first half, the generic "evolve to fight" shit the early arcs had, and I feel like the stupid "card puzzle" they had was pointless
I think you miss my point. I recognize their faults and willing to shitpost, but at the same time I'd rather keep my fond memories of when I played a game.
Like I know the major flaws of Pokemon GSC and will be the first to critic it, but I wouldn't want to play it again. One is because as per pre-Gen V it's a chore to play and two is because I enjoyed my time playing it with my GBC that I'd rather not be let down replaying it again.
I guess my example was wrong.
What my point was that you usually get flavor of the month jrock and jpop being sung in karaoke too, so I don't see the point using it as an example.
Again, a bunch of people are suddenly equating him to Aniki and pals.
>awake for 24+ hours working on a project
It's awful news no matter how you put it
He's certainly better then a bunch of has beens that only show up occasionally to sing shitty old mecha songs. I'd wager more people recognize him now too, given he's pretty much what they are to grandpas to the current generation.
Your entire argument is wrong. If you honestly don't know how famous or what a symbol Wada is in Japan, then you don't know anythign on this subject. I'm sorry he's not as famous as your old Grandpa's and no one cares about them on your chinese imageboard, but stop talking like you know shit.
Fuck I haven't watched Digimon since I was a kid but even I know this.
If your example was that "L'arc n ciel and Wada Kouji are flavor the month" then yes, you are wrong. L'arc n ciel's ppularity is immense and even worldwide and Wada Kouji has almost constantly been at the top of Karaoke charts since his debut.
he received the wrong kinds of radiation therapy, he did not deserve this. rest in peace wada san
He tweets this before he died
because you can't even data
also being sung in karaokes != chart topper. Those other Butter-Fly songs are considered different from the original. This is like saying Witch Doctor from the 50's (60's?) and the one in the 2000's is the same
and again, you're besmirching his name even more as you're turning him into a one-hit wonder
>literally pulling that shit
if this isn't shitpost, I dunno what is
also I find it hilarious that "being sung in karaokes" makes someone an icon
no nigga, you don't see Michiro Izuki songs in a karaoke yet he's an icon because of what he provided, and it is considered an honor when he sings something in your show
same with Isao Sasaki and the like, when they perform, they attract an orchestral group
Why does it matter how legendary they are? No one is comparing them aside from you. The only one close to that was the very first guy that said Butter-Fly is usually at the top of Karaoke charts.
sometimes i wonder if people genuinely care about someone or if they feel remorse because they are reminded of their own mortality
if this guy was great where were the threads when he was alive or dying even
So? What does that have to do Michiro Izuki? You keep mentioning them but they have nothing to do with anything this guys saying.
As wrong as that guy is you seem just as bad honestly.
because of the misuse of "legend"
the way he posted made him look like the usual "frustrated digifaggot who wants to take potshots to anything pokemon related" because it had Rica Matsumoto, as much as shitty as the post he was replying to
people can like wada and not really give a shit about digimon
you'll come across him enough listening to japanese lists of anime songs
i've heard even girls sing his songs
i could shit on a specific series all day but i do like some songs it could have
someone should be assmad at japanese instead then, because they adding him and not whoever you want to root for
they'll have songs alongside him for /a/'s series as a board like bluray buyers, not for /vp/ elites
For old's time sake
What does it matter, poor Wada's songs have been there with stuff like 2hu at otaku get togethers that are like Comiket over the years. These would have something like vid edits of OP1 and females cosplaying as SoL characters singing, but due to shit taste they don't bother with Pokemon.
>this thread thinks Let's Go Rider Kick isn't an iconic, nay cultural song because it isn't sung at karaokes or conventions
>this thread thinks that something that cater towards niche otaku tastes is "mainstream popular"
>shitty day at work
>stuck in 1 hr 30min Traffic jam
>see this, who?
>that guy who sang butterfly
I'm kinda waiting for Nozawa to collapse, but she's too old for that. She's basically way pass the point that any form of cancer can get to her, so she's gonna hold out until she dies of old age in 20 years.
Also it would mean Goku family gets a fitting voice.
You're only complaining because you were ignorant of what Goku is supposed to sound like. You watched a shitty dub when you were a kid and it imprinted on you and you can't accept that Goku sounds exactly like his intended character, a pure-natured, grown-up, yet, naive manchild.
Masako Nozawa's voice, while a tad too high pitched at times, reflects the warmth, sincerity, and character of Goku in the nuances of her performance unlike Sean Schemmel who sounds like a stereotypical Marvel/DC character. Really, if there is anyone that sounds right in English as Goku and catches his character spot-on, it's MasakoX.
>Was just listening to Butter-Fly and Hirari yesterday
Rip Wada Kouji
when I used to live near Akihabara and go there often sometimes people would gather on the corners and just spontaneously burst out into singing Butterfly
This is the turning point. When you've reached the peak, the only way is down.
Digimon will never be the same, and I hope you're ready.
In Flipland many people grew up watching Digimon and know his songs. I kind of hoped that, after he got well enough to even go to Thailand for an anime event just a year or two ago, he would be able to come here at some point. Shame that it's not going to happen anymore.
I liked that digimon movie.
Which I guess most of it is actually Our War Game or something like that, which was really the main part I really liked.
Everything else Digimon, I could never care for.
