I think it's fine to leave it as a zip or rar, though I never thought people would actually read like that. I like being able to unzip things to delete credits etc before zipping them again, I just batch rename the filetype afterwards.

But if you're following an ongoing manga, you'll 90% of the time be reading the magazine scans. And those are released with ~10-30 pages per release, more if it's a monthly magazine.
And even scanlations of tanks are normally released in chapters (which again are around 20 pages, more if monthly magazine).
