There's a million reasons why that could be right, but I can only say that fan translations suck balls. At least the ones I've read. Does anyone know if LNs' prose is better in Japanese than in fan translations or does it also suck?

I have 1 of yotsuba, 6 of pokemon special five of jojo and 5 of OPM
I've been thinking about buying some untranslated manga though in mitsudomoe/hajime no ippo, as I doubt those will ever get a western release

I've been considering buying all the Hidamari and Yotsuba but I probably never will because I'm lazy and I hate spending money on myself.

Nah. I can't be bothered. I already sold around 400 volumes of stuff I didn't really care about any longer. For some reason I also keep buying LNs despite them being so terrible. I've bought ~30 first volumes of English published light novel series. Only a few the second.Still have around 400 volumes of manga left though.

I bought the first volume of NGNL. It was amusing, but not enough for me to buy the second volume. I usually buy the LNs because reading the fan translation versions is simply something I can withstand. Though, there are a good number of them available to pirate now, of the English releases.

welcome funimation to /a/, in answer to your marketing thread I'll answer with a legit answer.

when i was poor i pirated the shit out of everything I could get my hands on. Now that I'm well off, I have faithfully bought perhaps 70% of the translated anime I once pirated in thanks to the creators for their wonderful product. Most manga i've enjoyed has not been officially released stateside so the % of Manga i've read that i've actually purchased is quite low.

My biggest complaint is both the quality and timing of releases. Most manga/novels are only officially sold stateside YEARS after they were fan translated. often only the first volume being translated at that; which prevents me from supporting the authors like i should.
