Read it, it's halfway done in good scans anyway and the other half is gonna take like another year because the team doing the typesetting are slow as fuck. Just realise that the second half will butcher character interactions and development and they get King Crimson's ability almost completely wrong. It's still enjoyable but just know it's not the full experience.

Remember that it was the very first Stand battle in the series and Araki wasn't sure if people would understand Stands at first, so it was likely there to aid readers in grasping the concept that they have different powers and that Hierophant Green's power is to control people like puppets (even if he never controls anyone like that again).

Read the redone scans. Then you decide if it's worth to power through the rest with horrible translation or to wait for more redone chapters (which tend to take a while).

Honestly if I had this option back when I first read part 5 I would just keep up with the redone chapters while reading Part 6 onwards. I know some people get mad at this opinion but I simply don't think it's worth reading knowing a new translation is being done. It's not like duwang where there was some humor at the ridiculously broken translation, part 5's is just plain bad.

He is the first character to appear as a villain, main character beats him, they become friend. (Speedweed, Okuyasu, Caesar, Bruno and Joshu is going to be like that, we just need them to be friends)
And the Zeppeli formula is a good way to define brojos (So much so that I'd say that Part 1's brojo is Will, but I prefer Speedweed so I'm conflicted), in which the character dies for the benefit of the MC like Will, Caesar, "Okuyasu's Fake Death", Bruno, Gyro and again, willing to bet that happens with Joshu

I experienced JoJo for the first time after reading this one comic, I forget the name. But it had Stands, cool fights and all that shit, and I was excited. So I showed my friend (who was a weeb at the time, he's since moved on to being a huge faggot who thinks protesting against zoos is a job) and he just started calling it a shitty ripoff. So he showed me JoJo, and I gotta admit, it didn't seem too good at first. Phantom Blood seemed nothing like that comic, and it was very dramatic. Good, but not what I expected. But when I got to Battle Tendency, I fucking fell in love with the manga. It was amazing. So I blitz'd through the entire thing, and I've been reading ever since. It's been great.

Also, turns out the comic was a complete ripoff of a Part 3 battle, so I guess my shit friend was right once.

In 2005, a friend of mine had a copy of that VA PS2 game. He showed me some of it and explained what JoJo was basically about.
Took me until about 2009 to actually get around to reading, though.
I remember when I got to VA, I could sorta remember all the stuff he told me about the stands, and I sorta felt a little underwhelmed by the fights due to that, but I think all in all, it was still worth it.

It was mostly because he really wanted to keep doing JoJo but felt that Hamon had run it's course and that if he kept using it then it'd just fall into the generic chi style power that so many other series use. While it could have been dropped more gracefully I'm glad that Araki resolved to keep on coming up with new powers and pushing himself to improve rather than just slip into a pattern and do the same thing over and over again comfortably.

Was kinda a mess for me.
7-8 years ago, I used to really enjoy messing around with MUGEN. I was importing a whole bunch of characters, and seeing how they played, and came across DIO from the Playstation port of JJBA.
At first, I thought he was a joke character, given the weird array of moves, and didn't think much of him beyond that. Later on, however, I came across a second version of DIO, this one from the HftF version of the game, which is of a notably higher quality.
Realising that he probably wasn't a joke character given the multiple versions, I looked into it a bit more, and found the OVA, which I got really hooked on.
After a while, I decided to read SDC, and loved the series all the more, realising that the OVA sucked the flamboyancy and fun out of a lot of scenes, and also realising that I'd been an idiot and started at part 3. I read 1 and 2 shortly thereafter, but I held off on 4 for fucking ages due to stories of bad translations. I eventually gave in an read through Duwang, part 5, and the rest though, and caught up to JoJolion at around the beginning of Shakedown Road.
Fuck, I just realised it took me 5 fucking years to get up to date.

He wasn't a member so he had no reason to believe he had a Stand. Clackers were I believe broken against Wired Beck, and weren't that great at all outside of catching Wamuu off guard and employing physics to his advantage.
