Why have some character's color portrayals stuck and some not?
>Blond and dressed like a banana Dio
Granted some of these are because of fighting games or the OVA, like Banana Dio I guess
I can't picture anything else really. Kakyoin with grey hair is kinda weird but not completely out of the question. Wish blonde Koichi stuck.
>I like unnecessary and explainable chromatic hair
>Implying he didn't
You've been rused by the great DIO, just like Jotaro.
I like blond bubble-chan, don't get me wrong, it's just kinda weird. Like you never see a colored redhead or medium brown Caesar.
Also, Gyro is always a dishwater blond/light brown, and Caesar is always a bright blonde. Kinda strikes me as weird, y'know? Maybe people just like being consistent.
Polnareff > Iggy > Joseph > Jotaro > Kakyoin = Avdol
>killed by gay priest
>lives forever inside a turtle
Tell me which one is better, anon.
Polnareff was practically the main character of Part 3, he may have been a douche in the sense that he was responsible for quite a few deaths, but pretty much all of the interesting and notable fights/plot points in Part 3 heavily involved him in a major way, especially in the first half.
>Annihilating Tower of Gray
>Figuring out how to find the real Lovers
>Helping Polnareff with The Hanged Man
>Having ice in his veins while playing video games with Telence
Kakyoin has as many memorable moments as any other character, ya dingus.
Turtles suck though.
How you feel if CC2 made a new Jojo game that played like pic related?
forgive me if this is more /v/ than /a/
The translations are being fixed, but it's not complete. Just go ahead for now I say. It's still a good part imho
Please tell me you're the vocal minority.
Read it, it's halfway done in good scans anyway and the other half is gonna take like another year because the team doing the typesetting are slow as fuck. Just realise that the second half will butcher character interactions and development and they get King Crimson's ability almost completely wrong. It's still enjoyable but just know it's not the full experience.
Using the marionette and the painting thing with Jotaro were just for dramatic effect, they weren't actually powers or something.
I can't believe so many people don't catch on to that and blame araki for "forgetting stuff." Like give me a break.
I usually don't associate the color blonde with dishwater is all anon. Dirty blonde is the most common in case English isn't your first language.
J. Geil pls go.
How does someone even type with two right hands?
Araki forgot literally everything about pre-fleshbud removal Kakyoin. Remember that time he cut Jotaro's leg by painting through it? Or how he used to possess people as his main power, which he never did again until Araki threw it in once during the Death 13 fight?
Dude had no clue what he was doing when he first introduced Stands, he was winging it
Kak was just trying to style on Jotaro.
He probably just did it to look cool, and as a visual metaphor to show how he controls people like puppets. Remember that it was the very first Stand battle in the series and Araki wasn't sure if people would understand Stands at first, so it was likely there to aid readers in grasping the concept that they have different powers and that Hierophant Green's power is to control people like puppets (even if he never controls anyone like that again).
>His hair was blue in ASB
>Grey in the anime
>I always thought he was obviously blonde
But thank fuck they didn't make it blue in the anime, I would have lost my shit
He looks so goddamn stupid in the games
don't take it from me but I thought the cast was excellent and the new translations make it a lot more palatable (the go about 2/3 through the story
it's worth reading for sure
(within Part 5, not counting PHF)
Avdol's only character trait is being the wise African man. He is one of the least memorable sidekicks in the series, and his only cool fight was with Polnareff at the beginning. Avdol was also meant to be killed off early on but came back after fan backlash for some reason. Since then he's been more bland then ever, and nobody cared when he died the second time. tl;dr no characteristics or real dynamics after j. geil
Iggy is below Kakyoin and above Avdol.
Mista > Bruno > Giorno > Abbachio > Fugo > Narancia
Best JoJo: Joseph > Josuke > Johnny > Jonathan > Jolyne > Giorno > Jo2ke > Jotaro
Best BroJo: Gyro > Okuyasu > Speedwagon > Bruno > Shiza > Kakyoin > Ermes > Joshu
Best Villain: Kira > Valentine > Dio > Pucci
_after.jpg> Diavolo > Kars
Best Part: 7 > 4 > 5 > 8 > 3 > 1 > 2 > 6
Anyone else think that Polnareff was added and given so much focus because Araki wanted to have fun with a goofy but noble main character again after Joseph? He clearly could not have done a total 180 with Jotaro's personality, and regressing back to Joseph himself would not have been a good idea. He's also the only one to have motivation that isn't grounded in "DAMN YOU... D!" or Iggy being dragged along against his will.
Best JoJo: Jo2uke > Johnny > Josuke > Jotaro > Jolyne > Jonathon > Giorno > Joseph
Best BroJo: Gyro >
yasuho> Okuyasu > Bruno > Kakyoin > Caesar > Ermes
Best Villain: Kira > Valentine > Dio > Diavolo > Pucci > Kars
Best Part: 7 > 8 > 4 > 5 > 6 > 3 > 2 > 1
So is this a ranking thread now?
Gappy > Jolyne > Joseph > Johnny > Josuke > Giorno > Jotaro > Jonathan
Kira > Valentine > Pucci > Dio Brando > DIO > Diavolo > Kars
7 > 6 > 5 > 4 > 3 > 2 > 1 (I'm serious about this)
I like this format
Jojo: Gio > Josuke > Joseph > Johnny > Gappy > Jonathan > Jolyne > Jotaro
BroJo: Speedweed > Kak > Okuyasu > Gyro > Bruno > Caesar > Joshu > Hermes (I actually think I like all the brojos equally. The jojo are actually pretty far apart in my "likeness" scale)
Villain: Valentine > Kira > Dio > Diavolo(Doppio, actually) >Kars > Gay Priest
Parts: 5 > 7 > 4 > 8 > 2 > 3 > 6 > 1
>Kakyoin as the Part 3 Brojo
Is this the usual consensus when picking only one Brojo per part?
Read the redone scans. Then you decide if it's worth to power through the rest with horrible translation or to wait for more redone chapters (which tend to take a while).
Honestly if I had this option back when I first read part 5 I would just keep up with the redone chapters while reading Part 6 onwards. I know some people get mad at this opinion but I simply don't think it's worth reading knowing a new translation is being done. It's not like duwang where there was some humor at the ridiculously broken translation, part 5's is just plain bad.
It's mostly because Kak follows the "Zeppeli" formula and the "BroJo" formula.
He is the first character to appear as a villain, main character beats him, they become friend. (Speedweed, Okuyasu, Caesar, Bruno and Joshu is going to be like that, we just need them to be friends)
And the Zeppeli formula is a good way to define brojos (So much so that I'd say that Part 1's brojo is Will, but I prefer Speedweed so I'm conflicted), in which the character dies for the benefit of the MC
like Will, Caesar, "Okuyasu's Fake Death", Bruno, Gyro and again, willing to bet that happens with Joshu
I like Yasuho as the BroJo
But I'm still hoping Joshu is going to stop being a cunt
Just you wait. I love the "Joshu gets out of Damo's range and beats the crap out of him with Josuke" idea. They are going to be friends. They have to be. I love Joshuu's personality and his stand. Yeah I know he is a cuck, faggot, whiny bitch but he is just so /r9k/ that you can't help but laugh and end up liking him
I beg to differ. If you ask me, Yasuho is just the love interest, not the "friend" character. So much so that we have 'silly' scenes with Yasuho that develop to some kind of romantic tension, while with other BroJos they were just stupid silly scenes (Gyro's gags, most of the chapters beginnings with Josuke and Okuyasu, the discussions between Caesar and Joseph, Speedweed just being silly with Zeppeli like that one time Zeppeli pokes Speedweed in the wrong place and he gets hurt, Hermes and Jolyne being bullies and Giorno and Bruno...they didn't have much time to be silly, but you get the point)
Eh, the way I see it you're just making up your own arbitrary rules while Araki just does whatever he feels like. Who's saying the main friend character can't also be the love interest?
but Johnny showed interest in HP and married a woman
Look at it this way then, Araki went out of his way to make sure Joshuu got screentime, and even gave him a stand with an A in development potential. if that doesn't confirm he's gonna have a big story presence I don't know what will
maybe not, I didn't check
it's a Japanese group
Is my taste good?
only things I'd say's shit is having jotaro as the worst jojo, in part 3 he certainly was but he's a much more interesting character in part 4 and 6 combined over Jonathan.
still good shit though anon, 9/10
These are just the old videos from SBR's official site except the Soul Beat Replica themes they were synced with are replaced with random SOUL'd OUT clips. Why even make this?
>gain the trust of a gay vampire
>get to live in his dope mansion
>have a comfy room with sunlight and a nice view
>spend your days playing videogames and collecting figures
T D'arby lived the fucking dream.
Look man I'm not saying Joseph should have stayed young forever and taken over Stardust Crusaders.
I just think it would have been a really fun way to end the arc. Don't tell me seeing Joseph in his prime one last time wouldn't have been hype as fuck.
Also baby kak would have been adorable.
I'm really looking forward to seeing it animated. It was one of the funniest "fights" of the manga, and given how David handled the Boingo arcs, I'm pretty optimistic they won't fuck it up.
>mfw the "die" starts screaming and vomits
>given how David handled the Boingo arcs, I'm pretty optimistic they won't fuck it up.
And given how they changed the art style for part 4 I'm pretty confident they WILL fuck it up.
You have some nice taste, but the animal I disagree with. Other than that 9.352/10.
And everyone agrees with you which includes me
as well, even if it's only the part where Vladimir sees Fugo flying towards him and gets decked in the face by Purple Haze.
When will we get a card game show where the villain is a gay priest?
So are you guys ready for some anime in about 13 hours?
We get to find out the opening, the ending, we'll probably see the Angelo fight in full, we may get a hint of Okuyasu, more Koichi, more Josuke, and best of all, this will be the first time we get fucking excited at the new opening for the first time in a year! (Less if you count the DIO additions to the Part 3 OP)
It's time for some fucking JoJo Fridays!
Are we doing these now? I made mine for an old thread but never got in in time
Not him but it's the perfect excuse to use this.
It's kind of easy to explain after looking at memes for a few hours just do that and King Crimson will no longer be a mystery
>Asking for full OP
>The episode didn't even air yet
Okay, you know when in FPS Game, when you go to punch a guy who's running into a wall, but then it turns out there was lag and he punched you in the back and you died?
That's King Crimson.
how did you get to know Jojo? when did you start reading Jojo?
how was your experience with the series?
i was a huge fan of Gintama and followed it every week until i watched the Stand arc on 2008, and that made me interested in Jojo
and holy hell i was addicted, i read all the parts from 1 just because i want to know what stands are. i even skipped 4 days of college trying to finish part 4 and 5 because i'm a slow reader
back then SBR was still running and i managed to catch up to the latest chapter..
and i swear waiting every single new chapters of SBR up until 2011 was the hypest thing i've experienced in my life
i actually cried on Gyro's death, it was so sudden and i just finished my college so it was an unforgettable moment to me
It'll be Made In Heaven I'm pretty sure, and they'll definitely make Annasui male from the beginning. He was only shown as a chick for 2 panels and then didn't show up for a while, so it won't be that much to change.
>there are people who like part 3
This I will never understand
First time I got into Jojo was when someone told me one of the characters could turn into a dinosaur.
Being a fan of Jurassic Park, I marathoned the entire series until I got to Scary Monsters, then marathoned it some more.
I experienced JoJo for the first time after reading this one comic, I forget the name. But it had Stands, cool fights and all that shit, and I was excited. So I showed my friend (who was a weeb at the time, he's since moved on to being a huge faggot who thinks protesting against zoos is a job) and he just started calling it a shitty ripoff. So he showed me JoJo, and I gotta admit, it didn't seem too good at first. Phantom Blood seemed nothing like that comic, and it was very dramatic. Good, but not what I expected. But when I got to Battle Tendency, I fucking fell in love with the manga. It was amazing. So I blitz'd through the entire thing, and I've been reading ever since. It's been great.
Also, turns out the comic was a complete ripoff of a Part 3 battle, so I guess my shit friend was right once.
Stands are fucking rad but I wish hamon hadn't been abandoned so hard.
Like Araki decided he didn't wanna do Jojo anymore but he already had a fanbase so he just completely switched gears.
In 2005, a friend of mine had a copy of that VA PS2 game. He showed me some of it and explained what JoJo was basically about.
Took me until about 2009 to actually get around to reading, though.
I remember when I got to VA, I could sorta remember all the stuff he told me about the stands, and I sorta felt a little underwhelmed by the fights due to that, but I think all in all, it was still worth it.
Heritage to the Future for PSX. The local comic providers also started translating the manga in a language I can read around that time.
Actually it was much earlier when I was just 8. Couldn't get myself to get pass the sacrificial ritual at the start of the part 1
Overall, it's an enjoyable read.
I knew Jojo from memes and possibly a streamer.
I started reading Jojo I think sometime after I
watched all of the anime and that was when Jojo
became not a meme to me, but a golden
experience. I read through all the parts in the
summer (even part 5) and stopped at the
beginning of JoJolion. It was a month earlier that
I started to read JoJolion and liked it a lot now,
anxiously waiting for the next chapters to come
and now waiting for the anime adaptation until
PHF OVA, and then watch some more until
I am finished with Jojo. But until then let's make
the good times last.
The face on his forehead lets him see 10 seconds into the future. He can erase up to 10 seconds of time if he sees something he doesn't like. During erased time, everyone else has to do exactly what the face on his forehead predicted except for him, so he can run away or get into a good position to attack (he can't interact with others during erased time because it would alter what was predicted). After the erase is complete, everyone except him will have seemingly teleported from where they were at the beginning to where they were at the end with no memory of the in between. During this confusion is when he launches his attacks.
It's one of the more complex powers in the series but powers in JJBA aren't TOO complicated compared to other series.
I don't like parts 1 or 3, honestly.
Both have their enjoyable parts, namely Dio obviously, but they play the shounen way too straight and don't have enough fun with it.
Everything after, even when it wasn't great, at least felt more self aware.
Best JoJo: Joseph > Josuke > Jo2ke/Josefume> Johnny> Jolyne > Jotaro > Johnatan > Giorno
Best BroJo: Gyro > Okuyasu > Bruno > Ceasar > Speedowagon > Kakyoin > Ermes > Joshu
Best Villain: Kira > Valentine > Dio > Kars > Diavolo > Pucci
Best Part: 2 > 7 > 4 > 6 > 1 > 3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> that one doujin where Kakyoin has an egg>>>>> 5
Hey, that kind of looks like the one. Is that the one with the blind guy who could move water? It's been so long, I don't remember the name, but it probably is Diesel.
Strange name for a comic about Stands, now that I think about it.
>when you wake up tomorrow, there will only be a few hours between you and a new OP and ED
I'm afraid it's not very nostalgic
>Know about the Dio arcade memes since I was very young
>look into it, find JoJo
>never pay it any real mind
>fast forward to 2012, anime comes out
>oh yeah, JoJo, this thing
>follow the anime until the first D'Arby episode
>for some reason decide to start reading the manga from that point
>eventually read the rest
It was mostly because he really wanted to keep doing JoJo but felt that Hamon had run it's course and that if he kept using it then it'd just fall into the generic chi style power that so many other series use. While it could have been dropped more gracefully I'm glad that Araki resolved to keep on coming up with new powers and pushing himself to improve rather than just slip into a pattern and do the same thing over and over again comfortably.
I don't think any anime aside from Jojo has ever gotten me hyped over intros and endings, it's a... bizarre feeling.
Yeah that was it, but Diesel had a blind guy who
controlled blood, didn't it?
Comic with stands, that is the bulls-eye for Diesel
I got no nostalgia for Jojo, sadly. I started with the anime last year, like March and marathoned it. Kept up with SDC until the finale, read part 4, then the rest afterwards.
Haven't started Jojolion yet though
Was kinda a mess for me.
7-8 years ago, I used to really enjoy messing around with MUGEN. I was importing a whole bunch of characters, and seeing how they played, and came across DIO from the Playstation port of JJBA.
At first, I thought he was a joke character, given the weird array of moves, and didn't think much of him beyond that. Later on, however, I came across a second version of DIO, this one from the HftF version of the game, which is of a notably higher quality.
Realising that he probably wasn't a joke character given the multiple versions, I looked into it a bit more, and found the OVA, which I got really hooked on.
After a while, I decided to read SDC, and loved the series all the more, realising that the OVA sucked the flamboyancy and fun out of a lot of scenes, and also realising that I'd been an idiot and started at part 3. I read 1 and 2 shortly thereafter, but I held off on 4 for fucking ages due to stories of bad translations. I eventually gave in an read through Duwang, part 5, and the rest though, and caught up to JoJolion at around the beginning of Shakedown Road.
Fuck, I just realised it took me 5 fucking years to get up to date.
For me it was the WRRYYYYY meme.
Shit like this
plagued my autistic childhood.
Didnt know what jojo was till a long time after when i connected the dots.
For a long time I though DIO's power was the ability to manifest and toss steamrollers.
I was a tad disappointed when i learned the truth.
>Stairway to Heaven
No. It was only called that in the original serialization and corrected in everything since.
>Annasui being a girl upon introduction
As it's just a couple of panels that would translate in a few seconds, maybe they'll leave that as it is.
>Haven't started JoJolion yet
Shit famila, get the fuck out of here and read before you get spoiled.
Right, the fucking blood dude. That shit was so fucking retarded, looking back on it, and not just because it's a localization. It just kinda threw you into the middle of Part 3, but without the rest of Part 3 to provide context.
Although I'd like to see more of that shit, just for kicks. Imagine Part 5, but with the New York Irish mafia, or Part 4 in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, Montana.
It was shit, but it did get me into JoJo, so I'm happy I saw it.
He didn't know Giorno had a Stand. As far as he knew, the only way to get a Stand was from Black Sabbath by getting excepted into Passione. He wasn't a member so he had no reason to believe he had a Stand. The only people in Passione who knew about there being more than one arrow were Diavolo (since he found all six then sold all but one to Enya) and possibly Polpo (since he was the one Diavolo gave the arrow to to make more Stand users).
I know what you mean. For some reason I get the feeling that this will be the first JoJo OP that's drawn rather than animated with those 3D models. Not that I don't enjoy those models, but they come off as pretty serious. That, and the anime designs don't look like they'd translate well into 3D.
>I'm Australian, so when I wake up it'll be subbed and in HD just for me and my shitty connection
I don't need subs since I've read this series so fucking much but it's nice to have them.
>tfw in the right time zone to watch it as it airs on stream
I'm not letting anybody spoil the ED for me.
RIP in peace Bowie, you'll be immortalized forever by your anime counterpart very soon
I have to agree with you on the "cool" fights
department, so here is a trish.
I want Doppio to awooo
I just can't unsee it after seeing this fan art.
>Not even best bunny boy
You slightly disgust me since Doppio is top tier
but Narancia is better.
First heard about it when looking into Shonen Jump history and influential manga. It seemed interesting but it stayed in my ever growing backlog for a while. Eventually read Part 1 but then stopped a bit into part 2 because of little time and other series catching my attention at the time.
Then when the anime came out I watched it and finally was hooked enough to read the whole thing.
I'm not a faggot, I'm just spreading the semi-truth.
That is true senpai.
I like Narancia too I just think Doppio is a tiny bit better
Well I can't argue with 2 dubs so yeah I am inclined to agree with you, but both are top tier.
Basically, power creep.
Going into Part 3, using firearms and explosives would be too reckless and are powerless against Stands. Younger Joseph was a fucking idiot when it came to collateral damage. String's pointless, too, when he has Hermit Purple, which is his rope fetish made manifest, and he has free control over it instead of relying on physics.
Clackers were I believe broken against Wired Beck, and weren't that great at all outside of catching Wamuu off guard and employing physics to his advantage.
Anon, even if you wear the same clothes as
the killer, doesn't mean you are the killer since
you have the same face. People just think you like
that style of clothing
I MEANT DIFFERENT FACE, FUCK.
I tried reading Duwang years ago, but I forgot all about it until ASB came out. I bought it, saw Whitesnake rip a CD out of my face and DIO do the steamroller meme I've seen thousands of times before, turned off my console and read the entire series.
Doppio would be a good BF to have because when you're in a bottom kind of mood he can just turn into Diavolo and rail your asshole
I mean you wouldn't have known that Fugo has
holes in his clothes in order to ventilate his temper, Purple Haze, or both.
>they knew he changed his face because the face changer told them she did it and he changed his face
>so they would specifically looking for elements of Kira in other people
>they found Kira via his clothes the first time
posting my taste as well
Jojo so far: Josuke > Giorno > Johnny > Gappy > Jotaro > Joseph > Jolyne > Jonathan
Pff, tasteless nigger
I didn't really understand what the box meant so i just put le josuke face
i was going to put Eliza from skullgirls with the DIO color palette but i didn't like the images i found
>Fugo that low
>Obviously hasn't read PHF
If you want a better representation of Fugo
go read Purple Haze Feedback. It does Fugo
justice and it's the closest light novel to be
>Least Favorite JoJo
>I have never been more happy at 3am in the morning, and that realization made me very sad and depressed
You do realize most people are asleep at 3am, right?
Why would that be depressing?
It was 3am, I was drunk from bottom-shelf vodka, wearing no clothes, watching somebody else play videogames, and was stupidly happy about my dumb questions regarding a homo manga being answered
What is not pathetic about that?
Not to mention
Pucci wins but also dies
There's more but I'm tired.
>that half assed job they did blending Jotaro's hair in with his had
Fuck you too, David.
The only think that's really pathetic about it is that you allow social standards to weigh you down.
So what's the ending gonna be? The
brazilian crunchyroll twittersaid it's a song released in the second half of the nineties. Post guesses
You have exactly 1 minute to draw your favourite Stand in any program of your choosing.
do you think viz will re-dub phantom blood and battle tendency?
Well they technically all got killed when time was
speeding up as well as their inner clocks so they
died of old age. Only to be replaced by the alternate universe versions of them.
Well he did sever the Joestar bloodline and ended up getting wrecked by an eleven year old boy
Fuck you, anon. I took 5 minutes. What you gonna do about it?
Too tired and depressed to draw right now, how an old Kureji Daiyamondo
Well the original bloodline at least but now that I
thought about the points, Pucci only partially won.
