Yes, matter fact, a timeline where Ushio and Nagisa died but Tomoya lived, and she could help him recover since she lived near him.
This scans maked me think that anyway
If it wasn't for the retarded Dragon Ball ending she would have become Ushio mother, I still remember the first time I watched this show without a single spoiler, I really thought that's how things were going to end.
>that scene where she's begging Clannad man in tears that if he'll love her she'll grow her hair out and take up sports and he can call her by her sister's name
That hurt my soul
Please do note Kyou belongs to me.
Have a nice day, faggots.
Maeda didn't write Kyou's route though. Kai did.
You'll notice that, with the exception of Kappei's route, both Kyou and Ryou's routes were terrible.
Yuichi did the best work with Kyou, in Kotomi's route.
You have been locked in the gym shed with this tsundere
What do you do?
Unlock the shed, go grab the sister and Tomoya, and then lock us all inside again
Do you think Ryou would have minded if you banged Kyou on the side so long as you married her?
I haven't played the VN in 8 years, but I recall neither being willing to share.
Kyou was okay giving up on Tomoya to make Ryou happy, but even she didn't bring up the idea of sharing him.
Kyou could fuck for 3 hours straight, pop out five healthy kids who don't die playing in the snow, and she'd live to see dozens of great grandchildren.
Tsunderes are healthy. Unlike this other girl.
>Honestly they don't make girls like her anymore
But they do
So many of them in fact it is considered a trope
They're getting worse with each new version, really.
What is it with KyoAni and feet? Pic related.
Up to this day I still believe in that other time line she hook up with Tomoya somehow after Nagisa's death.
Is there no good end in Tomoyo After? I was going to start reading it. I knew there'd be bad ends like everything pre-miracle in AS, but is there no happy end?
That scene where they play cards really made her endearing. Fuuko really is one of the best girls, shame she doesn't get the recognition she deserves.
I wish there were more episodes like this to show Nagisa's life without Tomoya. Sometimes it feels like she stick with him too much.
I wish more was shown of the other girls and Sunohara after Tomoya and Nagisa got married. I know there is a little more in the VN with Ryou becoming a nurse after being inspired by her boyfriend, but it makes me sad not much else is shown. It's like they've all grown apart, and it reminds me too much of real life.
>draw a boy
>call it a girl
She does in my head canon.
Not that I mind Nagisa, but what a great story this would have been.
Then someone will tell him that if he keeps thinking that way he will be unhappy for the rest of his life, and that is not what Nagisa would have wanted for him nor for Ushio. Something something character development, and he ends being happy with Kyou. It could even have worked as another Arc, alternate ending for After Story. It fits pretty well with the "learn from your mistakes/your father's mistakes and grow up" tone.
Kyou would've been the only one to come around to slap his shit and call Tomoyo a faggot after Cockroach died and she ended up meeting him again as Cockroach Junior's sensei.
but dragonballs happened because you're not allowed to move on if your waifu is deaaaaaaaaad! Gurren Lagann taught me that.
She would've been the next hottest Key girl after Akiko if she did won in the end, the idea of turning a cake to an milf is too good.
Damn now I want Mitarashi do do a Kyou After doujin.
The only thing that I really didn't like of Mitsuki was the fact she got naked to catch MC's attention before saying she loved him. Felt like she was asking for a pity to me- Other than that I still liked her more than Haruka.
I don't know why scenes like this even exist in the anime because she is literally made out to be a wholesome loner in the visual novel only ever interacting with others through Tomoya.
No one would have really told him that. No one DID tell him that. Not Sanae and Akio, not any of his friends. No one. They all knew that shit was sensitive territory. Who the fuck says "Move past your loved one and give me the dick instead"
>we will never get an arc where Kyou saves Ushio from her terminal forcedramatitis and marries Clannadman
>Kyou and Clannadman will never take Ushio to pray at her mommy's grave
>Nagisa will never give the couple her blessing through some weird unexplained alternate-world bullshit.
Admit it, that's what we all wanted.
I can honestly say that would have been one of the least optimal ways they could have gone about it for me. Especially considering how extremely insignificant interaction with Kyou is in Nagisa's, aka the true route, in the visual novel. She does her spunky girl thing a little bit, abuses Sunohara, and then fucks off towards the end of Nagisa's route in Clannad and then is gone almost the whole entire duration of After Story. Being friends for a year beforehand doesn't really warrant much else between them after how much time Tomoya spent away from Kyou and with Nagisa at that point.
>Start playing this recently
>really like kyou
>want to go out with her
>her sister asks me out
>say no because I want her sister
>get forever alone ending
>find out you have to go out with her sister before her route
What the fuck is this shit? Why do I have to spend half a girls route dating someone I don't like? No wonder so many japs are single.
The emotional impact of her route is kinda based on how much you actually give a shit about Ryou. You kinda miss out on a lot if you didn't care about Ryou at all. Probably why a lot of people feel like that route tree is shit.
I think what people fail to understand, regardless of how they felt about her, is that Nagisa is one of the few characters to actually have any impact an influence on Tomoya's character and development. Being only equaled in importance to character development by Tomoyo. Hence why Tomoyo got her own after story.
Unfortunately, Kyou isn't that deep and never was. Tomoya and Kyou were perfect for each other, and from a storytelling perspective, that's the problem.
>finished watching Clannad
>enjoyed the single OVA with Tomoyo more than any of the actual show
Is this normal or just another instance of my shit taste?
>5 replies and 404s
>Hundreds of replies
Best girl confirmed.
Nah, the way they handled the anime was kinda shit because they have to cram so much into so few episodes. Altering other character arcs to include Nagisa since she's the main girl.
Even that OVA is kinda shit when compared to the VN. The animation is nice as fuck, but again, lots of detail is left out to cram it into 20 minutes.
So the OVA was based on Tomoyo After and not on any part of her story in the original VN?
I was always interested in reading Clannad but I always remembered people talking about how the English translation was a bit of a mess, so I settled for just watching it.
I didn't play the game or read the novels. Can anyone give me a brief rundown of what happened to his friends?
I'm mostly curious about Sunohara. Tomoya and Sunohara were more or less best friends and I understand when you get married and start a family, friends just aren't the important anymore, but I want to know what happened. The anime didn't do him justice and I was hoping for him to get a girl rather than continuing to be a loser in After Story.
Sunohara really isn't drawn out in the VN's After Story either. He's still just as not present as he was in the anime. In fact, I'd say he was more present in the anime adaption of After Story than he was in the VN.
To this day, I'm still bothered that Sunohara for some reason wasn't there for Tomoya during his 5 year rut.
Has anyone seen this? How similar it is to After Story?
>To this day, I'm still bothered that Sunohara for some reason wasn't there for Tomoya during his 5 year rut
I thought the same.
Well, but he actually started working somewhere distant, right?
It really is scary how life turns out sometimes. One day you are doing this and that with a small circle and you think this will last forever.
The next day everyone is gone and that's it, you know, life just move on.
>One day you are doing this and that with a small circle and you think this will last forever.
>The next day everyone is gone and that's it, you know, life just move on.
Oldered Kyou would always be there at the end of the day like a good waifu, with Older Tomoyo you don't even know she might end up having to stay at the office to fuck a fat old japanese politician as she lobbies for something
I came to shitpost, not feel. Stop.
Can see shit like this happening. I had bad experiences with a girl that was a lot like Tomoyo. That's why Kyou became my favorite.
Haven't rewatched it on a while, guess I need to do it to see what happens.
Basically there is a bad ending where
Tomoya discovers he is gay and starts hitting on Sunohara. He isn't exactly happy about it.
Play the game buddy. The Kyou/Ryou route has 2 endings, but you don't get a magical light orb if you choose Ryou. You live happily ever after though.
I don't know why, but I really liked her. They were adorable together. I wasn't really sad when she died for some reason, guess I expected it. As for when Ushio died, I literally lost my shit.
Kyou is still best girl in my eyes.
Yes, it's Kyou/Ryou route, not just Kyou, that's the problem, it's Tomoya dating Ryou first before Kyou and than switching after the fact, not having a normal/single route, which I was hoping for, because that way it doesn't make it equal to other routes.
Nagisa is literally a doormat much like Ryou, most boring choice possible. Kyou is obviously best girl.
It really should have ended like this, no dragon ball ending. Ushio lives, Kyou and Clannadman slowly but surely start falling for each other. It would have been amazing.
Ignore her and make it look like I'm trying to get out and that I'm disappointed it was her I was stuck with. Unless she asks if I did this on purpose, then I'd pause, make eye contact, then go back to truing to kick the door out.
>you've been in a coma for... quite some time.
Probably not. If she didn't catch Clannaids, or he didn't develop a brain tumor, then one of them probably would have suffered from some other contrived tragedy. Maybe they get NICE BOATed by her sister.
Clannad should of ended with Kyou step-mom. Fuuka is baby sitter/mistress and Ushio doesn't die.
Nagisa stays dead forever.
I have no idea what you're referring to.
>but dragonballs happened because you're not allowed to move on if your waifu is deaaaaaaaaad!
>i never paid attention to the show
Why is /a/ so monumentally retarded? The whole dragon balls thing was actually pretty fucking central to the plot the entire time, were you all just asleep when you watched it? I mean christ it's not that deep, nor is it even subtle
Dragon ball end HAD to happen otherwise the previous 47 episodes would have been wasted an the whole parallel world stuff would have been completely irrelevant
I get that you all want tragedy because it makes it more impactful but that's not what the story is about
