Out of all the shows this season, I had the most problems with this by far. There are just too many dumb moments in this to just skirt over. In the second train entrance scene, the workers specifically say "It's here! It's the housoyga"(name of the train)
"It's here on time"

The bridge drops so that the train can come in slowly without coming to a full stop, this is how they normally have been doing it for 20 years.

No one expected the zombies to hijack the train and hit the whistle as if they where normal people.

There is no writing flaw here, just you playing dumb and not paying attention when you should have been.

Is it really lazy writing? Shit needs to go wrong for there to be a story. Either it can go intentionally wrong, in which case your story is more of a mental battle, or it can go wrong like this, where (at least for a time) your characters are fighting more of a "force of nature" than a villain.

If they check the train properly, it doesn't get in, and the story doesn't start until they do fuck up and zombies get in. Get it?
