Since Avvenire is a logical sequel to Origination, I'd say, watch that first.

This second OVA fixes the biggest fault of the anime so far: the omission of the wonderful final Caith Sith manga chapter. Been waiting for that since the end of Origination.

Art and animation were wonderful again.
One wishes Animation and Natural had this kind of quality animation. I always thought the low budget of the anime was the only thing that kept it from reaching the artistic levels of the manga.

What I liked about them is that they made clear that Akari isn't a normal girl, and that Aria isn't a normal gondola company. Its members are the "chosen ones".

When I first saw the anime (and hadn't read the manga yet), my interpretation of the Galaxy Express episode was that the supernatural element disappeared from Akari's life because she rejected the offer to board the train. As a kind of punishment, or rather affirmation that her place is in the real world, not in the magical world. And I thought the fact that this was the last Cait Sith appearance confirmed this theory.

But after reading the manga, I lean towards the theory that it was just one of the various tests that Cait Sith imposed on her and that ultimately culminated in the goodbye scene (which the anime left out - an unforgivable omission, which was luckily corrected by this second OVA.)

It's all about wisdom and enlightment. I think the power of Aria is that it makes you accept - after a long journey - that Akari is a very special girl, that her natural wisdom exceeds all of her friends', and even Alicia's. That's why Akari eventually became Cait Sith's equal. His representative in the real wold, the most enlightened being that Neo-Venezia has ever known.

tl:dr: Akari is is in the same category as Lain and Haruhi. She's a God.

I almost killed myself after first episode when I realized again I was born too early to visit Akari and ask her for hand so I will pass.

I was reading Dear Akari Sama, in my opinion it does fit with the actual series quite well.
At the same time, it makes me quite sad, lonely even.

I really wish I could somehow get in contact with Akari, she's one of the very few anime characters that I deeply care about personality wise and I am not able to even think about her in a lewd way compared to most other female anime characters.

I'm watching Aria, I'm halfway through Origination, I decided to watch just an episode a day, before going to bed (I generally rush with anime). MY GOD, I cry at almost every episode, this will be easily in my top 3 series.

I remember watching it like that for the first time, around when the Arietta came out. Aria became a part of my life for a while in a way no other show ever has.

I went to Venice a couple of months ago because of it too, and loved it. Wandering around the city listening to the OST is great.

Why do you want more when most of the source is adapted? I believe that you don't want some low quality bullshit sequel or something. The only thing that I could ask for would be complete remakes with better budget and native high-resolution art instead of the upscales. But we all know that those won't happen.
