Yuya needs a new extra deck monster of the same type as his opponent to best them. Kaito is the boss of this arc and Edo is the mini boss. Therefore, to best Kaito, Yuya needs to get his own xyz and use that in tandum with Odd Eyes Rebellion and Dark Rebellion and his pendulum to get him to listen. With Edo he could probably defeat him by using all of his extra deck methods

I am from Konami JP and here's what's going to happen during Kaito and Yuuya's duel: Kaito will summon Garbage Eyes Garakutta Dragon and will Xyz evolve into Galaxy Eyes Cipher Dragon. Cipher Dragon's whole gimmick is that it is a Rank 8 that can be summoned by using a "Eyes" Xyz monster as Xyz Material. He will dominate the duel and OERD will job as usual. But then Yuuya will summon Nirvana High Paladin and halve Kaito's LP by destroying Cipher Dragon.
Kaito will declare the activation of Cipher Dragon's effect once it is destroyed but they interrupted by Academia.
