If Zaraki turned red and got the weird markings on the face plus white eyes, does that mean he is 'undead' now?

I mean, drawing parallels with the Shinigami that were turned 'undead' by Giselle, skin was reddish, eyes were white, and there were markings on the face.

Also Zaraki's sword got a bit smaller and lost the hilt-thing it had on the top. Its lower corner (that makes it resemble an axe or scythe) looks pointier, and the blade itself looks very worn down.

Tousen's bankai is pretty damn powerful, the problem is that it's a a gimmicky de-buff bankai. I mean, if you can deprive your enemy of both their ability to see and hear, it would usually be GG. But it doesn't actually make Tousen any stronger. And Tousen's biggest problem is that he didn't have enough strength to kill Zaraki, and inside that little debuff bubble of his bankai, all Tousen has is his normal shinigami skills and a sealed zanpakuto.

So it's biggest weakness is that if anyone defence is great enough to resist a cut from Tousen using a sealed Zanpakuto (or any Kido he might use), it's a useless bankai. But if he could feasibly kill them with a sealed sword, then its incredibly powerful

Also if one Bankai is really developed in the series, that must be Byakuya's. It has a plethora of powers, and Byakuya controls it pretty well.

The reason why Renji got an upgrade it was because he was not completely familiar with it, didn't know its whole name (which the monk teached him what it was really like). So in a sense Renji didn't got upgraded, just got to know the real bankai. Rukia got straight to learning the name and mastering it fast.

Byakuya is already really familiar and has mastered it, so there's no help he can get from monk.

Ichigo was surely planned to be a Quincy, at least as a possibility, from early on, his hollow powers were largely unexplained, and it appears VERY early that his father and Uryuu's father went way back, other than being both doctors (exactly, from when his father sends people to Ishida's hospital and tells them to say that he sent them, and they will make room).

Bankai is characterized by a great expansion in reiatsu and/or a great effect of some sort on one's surroundings, or weapon. Ichigo went against that because his reiatsu did not expand, it compressed and his sword did grow, it shrank. After seeing how it worked first hand even Byakuya had to admit that it was a bankai.
Kenpachi's reiatsu soared, his blade changed and he gained immense strength, great enough to even grab a giant and push him off a hovering city on a plate in the sky. It may not be complete, but neither are the bankai of any bankai user who hasn't had theirs for at least a decade. Renji, Ichigo, Rukia and now Kenpachi, none of their bankai are perfected yet.

Next chapter : Gerard is not dead. Zaraki will be to tired to fight after his Bankai stopped. Hirako and the rest of te captains will protect Zaraki's unconcious body and fight Gerard.
