When we were at 108 in 2013, Nendoroids were still 2900 yen and figma were still 3800. There was a huge boom of new buyfags when the yen suddenly got a burst of strength. You can see how many new US based stores popped up since then.

Now that a single figma is 5200, these prices are currently 30% more than they were in 2013. Due to shipping costs we are paying a little bit more than Japanese are. The Japanese market has been shrinking since 2013 because of rising costs. It suggests that in the future, unless things change, the US and Chinese markets might stop growing.

At this point it is now cheaper to buy from US sellers and shortly their prices will increase. I hope you've saved your Amiami cancellations and are prepared to order from the jews, because their prices are about to be very competitive if the dollar drops any more.

The ride is coming to and end it seems.

I bought Nico Yazawa from Crunchyroll for the same price that it would be to buy from directly from Dengekiya, even though the pound is shit against the yen and the dollar. (though to be fair, you can't actually buy from Dengekiya without a Japanese card).

The worst part is that now figure prices have gone up, they're already as expensive as they were post 2008 (i.e. when the pound hit 120) but that was AFTER the last economic storm. The next one hasn't even kicked off and things are already as shitty.

I don't disagree, the earlier volumes hold up a lot better as a self-parody of dark fantasy, and I think even he admitted the last few volumes were a jumbled, incomprehensible mess. Probably why I like the idea of redraws (I'm also a sucker for reissues of old games I like).
