How do you cure this?
>>
>>139715307
go outside
>>
>>139715307
I cope with it with geimu, and then go back to anime when I burn out from that.
>>
>>139715307
Stop browsing /a/.
>>
does anyone else get depressed and mopey when they finish a series

is that what you mean

because i got that now
>>
>>139715307

Shut up and stop bitching, just power through it. I don't watch anime because I enjoy it.
>>
>>139715307
Taking a break, even if it's just a few days, can work wonders
>>
Take a break
>>
>>139715307
watch anime of different kind subsequently. This season i'll be watching Poker game for good serious plot and Netoge for the girls.
>>
>>139715853
once upon a time that was called shoushitsu syndrome
>>
>>139717030
that pretty much describes it

I really dont watch much anime, i've been watching more recently, and its been hitting harder as a result. About a year ago I watched Gurren Lugann after not watching an anime except DBZ in quite some time and that hit me the worst, it didnt stop for a few days. Today I finally finished KLK and a couple others, as my friend kept suggesting I watch it. I enjoyed it, but now have that feeling again.

Sorry for my shit taste.
>>
>>139715307
Watch series with tons of fanservice and fap to them, like Card Captor Sakura.

Take a few months off from anime. Watch something other then anime. Try to watch fewer shows and ration out the episodes further from time to time.
>>
>>139717276
Ah so your new

that explains the shit taste and the reason why you felt mopey enough to make a thread

let me explain how us more experienced veterans cope with this

___________________________________________________we dont______________________
>>
>>139717734
I didnt make the thread, I was going to make one though.

thanks though
>>
>>139717954
just.....before you start the last episode, pick up a new show and watch that episode first

and never finish a show right before bed or at night

i dont know thats what i do
>>
>>139718108
fuck nigger, i still do that shit and i just dont give a fuck any more
you get used to it
>>
>>139718108
I guess I'll do that. My problem is I binge watch episodes.

Knowing my current shit taste, is there anything you'd recommend?
>>
suck a dick
>>
I watched Welcome to the NHK awhile back and I can remember after finishing it I just wasn't the same after that.
>>
>>139715307
Play some vidya, read a VN/LN, shitpost.
>>
Stop watching anime for a while. Sometimes a long while.

Then I will rewatch a series that will get me back into it. For some reason Denpa Onna is one I go back to a lot.

Then you've got one or more seasons of anime to catch up on.
>>
>>139715307
Take a few months off dude. Eventually you'll see something that sparks your interest again and get back into it. If it feels like a chore to watch anime then what is the point?
>>
>>139718108
>Not finishing a show right before bed
>Not fantisizing about it in your head
>Not having a dream where you fug best girl
guys please
>>
>>139718250
come on man you're already being a faggot don't ask for recs go to the freddit-breddit recboard or something if u have to be a fag
>>
>>139718963
what this guy said

or google /a/ recs

or hell, just look back at the archives and see what shows /a/ was throwing a hissy fit over a few months back, thats usually a good place to start
>>
I've got the exact opposite problem, I'm refreshing leopard-raws every 10 minutes but there's nothing new to watch
>>
>>139718900
i meant finishing a show, as in theres no next episode after

man you must be some sort of masochist if you can get turned on by melancholy
>>
>>139719061
galaxy express 999

candy candy

theres always something to watch
>>
>>139719061
I share a little of your problem. I still need to finish a lot of stuff, but I'm impressed how neither yesterday nor today any good show got released.
We had such a great start and then we get 2 week days of nothing?
This is going to be a hell of a season.

Just checked anichart and noticed the teekyuu spin-off and 2 SoL shows are yet to begin airing in these days.
It might not be so bad after all.
>>
>>139719269
this season doesnt look too bad so far

the thing is, if you ask me if i liked last season I would say definitely.......thing is I dont really remember what shows they were

Is it bad that shows are just becoming shows to me now and not "flavor of the month"?
>>
>>139719440
>.......
Stop posting any time.

And yes, Winter is always a weak season.
>>
>>139719269
I still have a conan movie to watch, but that's all and I want to save it.

Maybe there's some half decent drama I could watch, haven' followed those for some months
>>
>>139719143
what's wrong with enjoying melancholy? Don't you ever listen to old anime ost's on rainy days while looking out the window or lying on the bed?

Just go back and forth between vidya and anime.

Simple.

until you realize that your backlog is so huge you would be burnt out before you could even finish it.

I've watched Kiniro too, if that means anything.

Those are just the examples that first came to mind. Basically, I cant think for myself and watch whatever my friends recommend.

Do this

Or watch live-action dramas if you still want to watch stuff. American TV has been getting better in the past decade.
>>
>>139720977
got any dramas to recommend? Need some stuff I can casually watch while cooking
>>
>>139715307
How does one get a anime burnout? I can understand video games, but anime how?
>>
>>139715307
Find a job that requires you to ACTUALLY work for 8+ hours a day. Seriously. You'll have tons of $$$ BUT very little free time. Trust me, having a lot of stuff to read/watch/play but not having enough time to do so made me appreciate all these little things way more than during my hikkineet years.
>>
>>139715307
visual novels bruh.
>>
>>139715399

>>
>>139721048
Breaking Bad and Sons of Anarchy are good entry level dramas. The latter starts out shitty but gets good later on.
>>
>>139715853
Texhnolyze sent me into an existential crisis when I finished it
>>
>>139720834
maybe just try watching something for yourself, not what your friends want. nobody watches anime to be social lol. maybe read some manga or something like that. watch an anime movie, like grave of the fireflies.
>>
>>139721522
i heard people say its kinda pretentious, but personally I feel like that word kinda has lost its meaning nowadays

is it any good?
>>

>>

no, it's shit, now fuck off.
>>

Its my absolute favorite to this day

It starts a little slow but goddamn is it good
>>
>>139719567
Imposing suffering on yourself is the best.
>>
Spend time reading philosophy and other literature.
>>
>>139720834
I think I get you, anon. You started watching anime a while ago, right? You're in the self-discovery phase, and you're going to feel like shit as you pass through various stuff you can't find enjoyment in, until you hit the right spot sooner or later and manage to pinpoint your favorite genres and characteristics.
>>
>>139722028
That sounds about right. It doesn't help that some of my friends like anime but some spout weaboo at me despite me not knowing a whole lot.

>>139715399
I do this, hard, nearly a cycle of half the season gaming and half anime, or both
>>
>>139715853
>been watching Bakuman
>56 episodes in 2 days
It's gonna be depressing when I finish it, I probably should have made it last.
>>
I got a burnout last season. I'm still kind of burnt out on /a/ but it gave me time to rethink my backlog. I decided to try out some old fantasy OVA's and even marathoned most of Gankutsuou. Now I've been reading some cheesy romance manga for a few days nonstop and it's really sparked my enthusiasm once again.

Just start trying random things. Look at some rec charts or something and just get off whatever routine and rut you've fallen in to.
>>
>>139715307
In 2013 I just stopped watching anime and reading manga as much as I used to. I think I have a problem where I "take a break" near the end of a series that I really like because after that It's over and there's no more. I just watched out for some interesting shows during the start of a season and jumped into it.

>>139715853
Oh man Acchi Kocchi, Seitokai no Ichizon Angel beats, Ano Hana, Hentai Ouji, MM!, Zombie des car, and Medaka Box. Its even worse when there won't be a second season Or in M!'s case. The author dies. I felt content with Gurren Lagaan, Its weird but I was completely satisfied with the ending.
>>
>>139715307
Pick up a creative hobby.
>>
Go home and be a family man
>>
>>139715307
Jack off.
>>
>>139715307
stop watching trash, no really, watch only the decent ones (3 anime per season) and you will be craving more anime.
>>
Try varying genres.
>>
>>139717276
You eventually stop getting so invested in those shows when you watch a lot of seasonal garbage. You'll eventually get jaded and hate everything like everyone else here.
