Last thread hit bump limit, is this real life.
Time for assholes with jobs to get on the bandwagon of the new AOTS.
BnHA fags on suicide watch
It's possible because it's daytime show. Brave beats in that timeslot was airing for 2 coures, with new season it switched into Gintama's timeslot and Sousei was put in it's old
I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting to. Generic shounen isn't usually my thing, but this has a lot of elements that suit my personal shit taste. Benio is like a conglomeration of all my favorite generic heroine traits:
-Long black hair with straight bangs
-Old-fashioned, Shouwa period looking black serafuku
-High black stockings with ZR only visible under long skirt (pic related)
I like the Shinto/Nip folklore based setting too. I'll definitely stick with it unless it completely turns to shit, but the first episode was pretty good. Animation was not great looking, but it wasn't completely horrible and was fairly fluid. I like how the sketchy artstyle of the exorcist world and enemies contrasts with the super clean, stylized character designs and normal world backgrounds. Music and sound were decent.
Don't mind me. Just posting best girl's legs.
She's cute as fuck and she has a nice dynamic with the MC.
Pleasantly surprised the adaptation has some actual distinction to it with Magano being a total contrast with their normal world and the fights having some artistic flair to them.
Someone baited me with a picture from the same chapter last thread. I got up to pic related and I'm not even mad.
I tried to like it since the MCs have some decent interactions but the non stop "sudden emotional charged powerup!" shit got on my nerves. For fucks sake they don't even wait for the fight to end to add another one.
As someone reading the manga, you shouldn't. It's generic, but fun. Even has the standard MC walking in on the heroine while she's in the bath. It does look pretty, though. Watch the first episode and decide for yourself.
This so much.
I liked the animation very much, designs, soundtrack, colors and direction, but still I somehow cannot get me to like it.
The characters and plot feel incredibly bland and the first half bored me to death. I hate the concept, but the execution was well made.
I'll probably drop it, pretty visuals doesn't make up for a lack of overall interest. I guess it's just not my cup of tea.
So far I've liked Kuma Miko, Bakuon, Joker Game and Hero Academia (I don't read the manga btw).
What I meant by concept is the over used "boy meet girl and suddenly a fantastical adventure starts". The MC being the loser "chosen one" with an incredibly tragic backstory also bores me, the emotionless tryhard girl doesn't really appeal to me. I can see why people would like it, but personally I can't give a shit about anything happening to the characters or the story at all.
Not agreeing with that anon, but Deku isn't a chosen or talented loser. He's a just a loser that doesn't quit. Rokuro is a quitter. Once you find out why he decided to quit being an exorcist, though, you kind of understand.
Both MCs (for this and Hero Academia) get better and more determined as their series go on. My only issue with Twin Star is that it visits and then revisits some genre cliches more than it needs to.
The power ups can be a little ridiculous at times (childhood friend), but awesome at others (Benio's legs). They also reuse the "I'll just walk into the bath because I doubt she's in there".
Benio uses her legs a lot
Well she needs to break them in
Mayura didn't come in until chapter 6. most of what she said was said by the guys living at his house.
Benio doesn'y have a cowardly fire fox/choker thing. Her fight in Magano before meeting Rokuro was never shown, she just falls out of the sky, though it said later she was fighting in Magano. When Rokuro tried to save her he ended almost drowning and he need to be saved, which might still be in the show given Rokuro thanked her. Her fight with the big impurity at the end was a lot more onesided, with the dent being all she could do.
Other than that though it was pretty spot on, oh and Roku was buying soy sauce when he met Benio, it's a small joke because he needed to buy it twice since the first bottle ended up in the river
I meant that the series doesn't start with him being the chosen one or anything. My bad. Rokuro is special from the start. Even more so if you're up to date with the manga.
I really love Hero Academia, but I'd drop the manga in an instant if Horikoshi tries to give Deku bullshit power ups equal to whatever the hell is going on with Rokuro in Twin Star right now.
That time skip did some wonders to Benio
I thought you didn't read the mana? Liar.
30 chapters later, I still can't tell who are the main characters besides Rokuro and Benio.
Can I expect Mayura to be around during the entire course of the series? Will Shimon stick with Rokuro or will he leave after the current arc?
The only reason to watch.
is for CUTE.
Normal Shounen bonding, Shimon and Rokuro as well as Benio and Mayura have their y/u moments.
No, his abilities as an exorcist are always good, and he is the more level headed one in most interactions.
>Roku and Beni vs. Yuuto will probably end up being the BIG fight
And a few laughs. I still can't get enough of how Benio's new power randomly stops working after ten seconds of use and Yuuto kicks her ass all over again. It was hilarious.
>She sees your dick
I'm not saying she did no damage at all. But he was holding back. He had the power to stop her whenever he wanted, but he did not because he knew her powerup would stop working pretty soon. He just wanted to humiliate her more, since he thinks she's a piece of trash who isn't worthy of fighting seriously.
>Is this battle harem?
It is if you watched more than 20 anime, but the kids in these threads think harem is a bad word and treat the manga like if it were special and different, same shit that happened in rakudai the old people see clearly all the harem antics but the newfags doesn't want to accept it.
Anime was weak and it started to give to much info early. In the manga there was more of a build up. The art and animation are meh. Really wished they did not fuck this up but they did. I hope the pacing gets better. In the end you should all read the manga before watching this
Wow, I can smell the Smug. Anyway though it mostly depends on what one considers a battle harem. I usually use Negima as my base.
Way more girls then men/ no
All or majority of females in love with MC/ yes
Fights to romance at a 1-3 chapter ratio/ no
Male MC frequently saves the girls/ yes
>Character yells the name of the technique
>Everything stops and the name appears dramatically in the screen
>Character then goes "YEEEARRTT" and does technique
This is not as bothering as i thought it would be
>Male MC frequently saves the girls/ yes
Sort of but at the same time no. The MC does end up saving each of the other characters (both male and female) from different circumstances but this usually only happens once and it's teamwork from thereon after.
>Time for assholes with jobs to get on the bandwagon of the new AOTS.
>BnHA fags on suicide watch
Is the anime really that good? I read the manga and while I like it, I think it's thoroughly average. The first chapter is literally Ao no Exorcist rehashed. At least Benio is the type of tsundere that goes dere really quickly.
That was kind of annoying because they were suppose to be equal and it took a shit ton of chapters for her to get there only to be knocked out and easylly and have big tits do a much better job fighting.
I'm guessing Miko sounds feminine, since it means shrine maiden, so the Miko is usually treated as female by the translator.
But miko can also mean chosen one, right? That's how miko is used in Tales of Symphonia.
Can anyone confirm if they use gender neutral to talk about the Miko in Japanese?
They have never been equals. From the star he was considerably more powerful. Then when she got the impurity legs and thought she levelled up, Rokuro got the guardian powerup and left her behind all over again.
Now Benio finally gets the guarding powerup herself but Rokuro is going to get yet another powerup and leave her behind all over again.
She'll never catch up to him.
I'm not so sure.
Damn you, fuccbois.
She's pretty much the only girl worth considering.
Tits is about as stock as it gets, and the new chick won't live longer than 10 more chapters.
Honestly pretty good summary of the series overall. The main two characters are solid, everyone else is... snooze city.
Does MC have a harem or is he a one girl kind of guy?
>The main two characters are solid, everyone else is... snooze city
I wish the tone was lighter in this manga so there could be goofy side characters like in Binbougami Ga! Right now it's just the canon couple growing and maybe the underwear guy that's interesting.
What do people think of the antagonist? Has he shown a compelling motive yet? So far he seems like a runty Aizen.
>What do people think of the antagonist? Has he shown a compelling motive yet? So far he seems like a runty Aizen.
Is Aizen's plan to use all of Japan as a human sacrifice to give himself so much power he would be master of Humans and Kagare?
Is he a sociopathic little shit?
As for my opinion he's pretty generic dooms-day villain, but the petty sociopath stuff makes it easy to hate him as a person but like him as a villain
>Is Aizen's plan to use all of Japan as a human sacrifice to give himself so much power he would be master of Humans and Kagare?
I was talking more about the kid's attitude and callousness but pretty sure Aizen had something similar in mind with the King's Key plan.
I just hope he doesn't have a redemption moment later on so he helps the MC against the final enemy. Binbougami went a little overboard with that.
>virtually every previous antagonist supporting Tittyko
When is Benio gonna do something useful? She keeps getting hyped up as being as strong as Rokuro, and then jobs hard when it matters. She literally pulled a "last-minute savior" move and immediately got her neck broken or something against that lightning basara. I enjoy suffering and bullying as much as the next guy, but enough is enough.
>Hurr durr anime of the season
>Durr Hurr start fight with random Fandom of other show from similar genre implying they even give a shit
I liked this premiere but this shit is so fucking stupid. Anime isn't a zero sum game compartmentalized into seasonal fake fanbase wars bullshit after one episode has aired
Nanatsu no Taizai is better than both MHA and Sousei. Because while it does have cliches/tropes, it's actually got a pretty deep and intriguing story under the surface (most casuals wouldn't catch on since they know nothing about Arthurian Legends and British mythology. They also pay no attention to detail and foreshadowing). Nanatsu is like Gintama in a way, it hides underneath shounen tropes and can come off as generic on surface and if you're just casual. Gintama hides a deep and intriguing story under comedy and silliness.
MHA and Sousei has nothing underneath their surface. What you see is what you get with these two series, and that's average shounens.
The author doesn't seem to know how to balance them. He keeps hyping Benio up but then makes her job so that Rokuro can stand out as the special snow flake main character.
He should try to find a way to make Rokuro stand out without dragging Benio down. Or better yet, make them actually equals.
Aren't you guys being harsh as fuck on Benio? It's not like Rokuro's that much stronger than her except for the whole Seimei keeps whispering into his ears, while whoever the fuck Benio's supposed to be (Douman?) is being rejected by Benio most likely.
Even against Onii-sama Rokuro has been using his arms since forever, and Benio just got her legs.
Also, who's talking here? Rokuro or the loli?
>It's not like Rokuro's that much stronger than her
He is, though.
Just think about it. Using her guarding powerup Benio barely managed to fight back Gigano. She only destroyed one of his legs and passed out. Gigano could have killed her then but decided to spare her.
Now Rokuro is about to solo Hijirimaru, who is far stronger than Gigano according to the Basara power scale. And on that top of that Hijjirimaru just got a powerup of his own, so right now he's like 5x as strong as Gigano if not more. If Rokuro can keep up with him, and he will, that shows that he's a lot stronger than Benio. He's on a whole different level that she is.
>Now Rokuro is about to solo Hijirimaru
This is pure speculation and last time people though Rokuro with "Seimei'ed"-up would take on Onii-sama but didn't. Onii-sama could've killed them right there too. Same shit's gonna happen this time around.
Also, it's exactly like I said, Benio hasn't even accepted whoever the shit that she's supposed to be yet. Her power is "yin", if you don't accept it how are you supposed to fight at full strength.
Also, Hijirimaru's still trying to completely fuse his power with Gigano's.
Back of volume 5's cover says that's a loli.
That's the main point.
People THOUGHT it's gonna be Seimei that's gonna come from these two, they didn't even know he's still alive. The loli is not Seimei, and is supposed to be the new supreme ultimate child that is gonna wreck everyone's shit.
At least that's how I reconcile the information.
>This is pure speculation and last time people though Rokuro with "Seimei'ed"-up would take on Onii-sama but didn't. Onii-sama could've killed them right there too. Same shit's gonna happen this time around.
Rokuro took Yuuto's arm, just like Benio took Gigano's leg. But Hijirimaru is far stronger, and if Rokuro manages to keep up with him, that means he's way stronger than Benio right now.
>Also, Hijirimaru's still trying to completely fuse his power with Gigano's.
He'll get it done during the fight. This is going to be the climax of the arc. Both will fight full power.
>Back of volume 5's cover says that's a loli.
I don't have the cover. Can you post it to see for myself what it says.
>monster battle anime
>MC is a shark
>FeMC has a himecut
>Japanese as fuck OST
>move names show up on the screen
>usual Pierrot QUALITY for a never-ending amount of unintended amusement
Picked the fuck right up.
But Higano literally said the corrupted form of Benio's like a new born child only. Higano lost his leg, and Benio just feinted.
Also, we still aren't sure how the fight between Hijirimaru and Rokuro go down. For all we know, Rokuro would LOOK like he's on par with Hijirimaru, and then in the end it's revealed that Hijirimaru's still not 100% his power.
That's literally how this story has always been with the fights.
>But Higano literally said the corrupted form of Benio's like a new born child only. Higano lost his leg, and Benio just feinted.
Oh, no doubt she'll get stronger. But right now she's weaker than Rokuro, and as she gets stronger, Rokuro does too. She's always a step behind, and I don't think she'll ever catch up.
>Also, we still aren't sure how the fight between Hijirimaru and Rokuro go down. For all we know, Rokuro would LOOK like he's on par with Hijirimaru, and then in the end it's revealed that Hijirimaru's still not 100% his power.
We'll have to wait and see, but I think Rokuro will give Hijirimaru a run for his money. They hyping this too much, with Rokuro admitting that he's fighting mainly to impress Benio and all that.
>But right now she's weaker than Rokuro
There's no doubt about that. It's just that people in this thread keeps on making her to be completely useless. If anything, I feel Shimon jobbed harder than Benio.
What was the old logo intro again? This one freaks me out for some reason
That's exactly what I said anon.
Sayo herself never directly said he's 100% seimei when confronted by Seigen, just that the feeling of Kuzunoha for her son is real, to which I propose Seimei has a brother, which I do admit is a huge ass stretch.
It's pretty obvious is Seimei. The Basara know Seimei is alive which means he's probably in Magano. And Rokuro was found as a baby in Magano. And Seimei says that Rokuro is his son.
It makes sense.
I read this last year, had to drop it because FeMC was an absolute cunt.
I just couldn't stand her, she was so annoying and so hamfisted into the story so that MC could have muh Yamato Nadeshiko
>Girl falls out of the sky
Bretty good show. Lot better than Boku no Hero Academy first ep.
She is a huge jobber as you could already see in this episode. She's always thought to be za besto but she's just shit tier compared to Shark.
Honestly it's not even funny, they're supposed to be kinda on par with each other but Shark is just so much strong than her since the beginning.
Though of course the author will make her strong enough to match him somewhere along the line, or not.
Yeah, and this also seems like Abe no Seimei.
Yamato Nadeshiko is more like MUH STRONG IRON-WILLED YET DELICATE APPEARING JAPANESE WAIFU! or as I've heard some people call the trope, passive aggressive bitch.
Not really, she has the looks but also good manners and housework skills. That's what a Yamato Nadeshiko is. Benio only has the looks and manners, to an extent because she is autistic. Her housework skills are below average.
Stop acting like a retard waifufags, pls.
LMAO this is what waifufags really believe? Now, this is pure gold.
Just NEETS, Otakus, hikikomori, Losers and waifufags are sexually attracted to waifu 2D like you.
fuck off go back to AnimeSuki
Whoa, this was way better than I ever expected. Great music, nice art, and surprisingly good animation from Pierrot. The animation quality probably won't last, but as it is this was the best first episode of the season.
Also who Tokyo Ravens here?
it has the potential of becoming good but i dislike the "arm gauntlet" weapon, was hoping for a katana and what the fuck with the mc? why not just make me really silent and cool?
anyway so far so good especially with the facial expression
Opposite for me here. I enjoyed the manga quite a bit, but I felt like the first episode of the anime let me down. They removed the introduction scene where Ryougo exorcised the impurity from the loli, and they didn't make the shots nearly as intense as the manga.
