I'VE JUST BEEN IN THIS PLACE BEFORE!
SPEEDY SPEED BOY GASOLINE'S BURNIN' IN
NIGHT OF FIRE
BUT YOU'RE KILLING MY LOVE
AND IT WILL DESTROY ME
>Boris, a young kid that delivers meat from his dads slaughterhouse to a two star restaurant across the Siberian tundra with his Lada shitbox.
I'd watch that
I actually came up with a setup for a slav racing movie, like they drift on frozen rivers in winter. Also Russian roads are very dangerous in a funny way (someone post drifting webms) so you can have a lot of hilarious scenes. Would watch if made with genuine effort.
Picrelated, Lada with some ghetto tuning.
I've also started watching the series this week. I'm currently watching the third stage movie.
So far, it's been great. The Eurobeat definitely hypes the races to the max. My favorites so far have been the Nakazato and Sayuki races.
One thing I like about initial D is that there are no sore losers. Even the most douche racers accept their defeat like a man.
I wish I could see an episode where Bunta gets serious. That scene where he tests the new 86 is awesome.
Mogi a shit.
Since Initial D is over, there needs to be a new series.
This season they have an anime with cute girls and motorcycles.
When are they going to make a cute girls and cars anime?
The girl driving the first-gen Miata will be the best.
I wanted to spend this spring-summer by getting a driver's license. But for that I would need to ask my grandma for autoschool money. But then I thought that I would never be able to afford a car, so fuck it.
There's always one upset fujoshit.
Maybe in the future, as a project.
They're genuinely good and fun cars, but overpriced for what they are. Don't make owning one your priority.
Also, Levins/Booters or a combination of both tend to be cheaper than hatchback Sprinters.
>Since Initial D is over, there needs to be a new series.
I'd suggest they make a new series about Bunta's days as a racer. As long as the animation studio for it was respectable, it'd be awesome to see a modern anime set in 1970's Japan.
I just finished it a few days ago.
What a ride this was. I got hooked on Eurobeat and cars. And I was never really interested in damn cars. I'm considering to rewatch all of it again just for the music.
NIGHT FEVER NIGHT FEVER
Have you praised your Lord and Savior today?
Just a friendly reminder to all the plebs that Levin > Trueno
>Itsuki, you're telling me people like going on websites and shitposting about cars all day
Good thing Initial D wasn't set in the 2010's. The Speed Stars would be posting about racing more than actually doing it
I like MR2s too.
This desu, but they're good meme cars.
I already own an AW11 which is close enough for me desu
AW11 literally is a mid-engined AE86.
It's exciting, the tunes are bangin, pacing is good, Slice of life stuff is well incorporated, every race is unique in most of the aspects.
I'll give you that it goes downhill after 3rd Stage, but up until then Initial D is a masterpiece.
If the rest of the stages were half as good as 1st then yeah. But no so it's still Keion.
>you will never walk into the Toyota show room and order a brand new AE86
>Oh no mom will be so mad I crashed her Civic
Shoulda bought FR
So what are the Legend movies about and are they good? MAL description only mentions the races with the Takahashi brothers. Are they like a recap?
I'm asking since I'm currently watching this and would like to know if I should watch them after the final stage. I'm on stage 4 and it's so far nothing too exciting. I feel like the Eurobeat quantity has significantly decreased. I'm probably just biased, but it also pisses me off how irrelevant Keisuke is. I was looking forward to seeing him race and develop after the team formed but it's just been Takumiwinslol for the first 6 episodes.
Though the race with Tomoyuki was really enjoyable. It actually didn't feel one-sided.
Who the fuck needs pop-ups when you can have this
They're like a remake, with no Eurobeat, changed voice casts, better CGI, no cool atmosphere-building SoL stuff from first stage, half the characters missing and no Impact Blue at all.
The cool kids, obviously.
There's not a single car out there that looks better when they remove pop ups. Fucking look at what they did to NSX chan or MR2 chan. Should be a fucking crime against humanity.
>hating on the classic Irish™ my twin-cam is well fast innit mate® boy-racer look
Go fuck yourself.
HEARD YOU TALKING SHIT LIKE I WOULDN'T FIND OUT
Some webms I had here, the last one is a bonus
>actually talking about good anime
Holy shit am I in a parallel universe?
You mean talking about cars right.
I always try to make sure this song is on when I do ~75mph on this on/off ramp.
Cute girls driving cars, guy driving cars, eurobeat, just give me something (and they could at least finish the translation of all car mangas there were dropped)
>no pop ups
Put it in the fucking garbage
We drive actual cars here, beyond the Urals
Honda Accord. At least it's a V6, right? Planning on getting a Porsche 928 soon.
2 door or 3 door?
I'm more of a Toyota guy, myself
Sadly they're not as cheap as they were in 90's/early 00's. It's just not the same anymore.
Have an A E S T H E T I C pic
Why Bubble Era cars are so cool?
I want everything that is in that vid
All of it
You can't listen eurobeat and read manga
A '76 Datsun 280z.
I used to post in the /o/ datsun threads.
True Partrician right here.
>not genuinely enjoying cheesy outdated CGI and special effects
It's like you can't into camp.
I was about to, but it's not an cheap car to maintain outside of Japan. I ended up with a first gen miata instead which ended up being quite the change of pace after i sold my SW20 turbo, i enjoy the lack of certain death on every interstate offramp.
That race between Ryosuke and Rin. I think it's probably my favorite race after Takumi vs Tachi.
HIGHER ON THE STREET
AND I KNOW IT'S MY TIME TO GO
End me please
Dagumi tax has overpriced the fuck of the AE86
Its also a JDM exclusive car, the American equivalent, the Toyota Corola GTS, is the AE88, and it makes less power because emissions
Get a NA miata, cheaper, safer and faster.
And if you have 500 bucks and an afternoon, you can LS swap it and make it into a sleeper
Volvo C30 T5
Shit at the bendys, great at the straights, superior Swedish comfort
Its like the sweeds took an American muscle soul and put on a FF hatch
Disposable income to do crazy shit and fund things every one in the board knew it would fail at some point
Also the Japanese Horse Power Cold War, where they all said they had around 240 or 280hp but they were all doing 300+ at their wheels
T5? Is that the manual 200-something hp variant?
Seems like a fun car, wanted to try driving one. But since I live in Sweden, everyone is required by law to drive a V70 or an old 740 before that.
Why is there no Over Rev adaption?
It's not even fully scanlated?
The were only 70 something manuals imported to my country, making them rare as fuck and over priced
Mine is an auto, both the manual and auto version of the T5 have around 230HP (its usually 228 or 229), the newer versions of the T5 (post facelift) have 240hp
They are fun in the straights, because they are so fucking heavy, they understeer a lot on tight turning, but since the steering is so boosted due to the hydro electric wheel, you can just point at where yo want to go and use those 230hp to pull you out of a bad turn
Great torque too, you almost don't need to downshift to over take some one
If you are gonna buy one, GET A SKID PLATE, the oil pan in this car is sensitive as fuck, mine is at the shop right now because of a busted oil pan
Getting rwd for the next one preferably a m2/m3
ONE FOR THE MONEY
TWO FOR THE SHOW
I WON'T TAKE NO PRISONERS
Don't quote me on this, But I'm pretty sure its the same body and suspension, but ou get the 1.8 NA instead of the 1.8T or the 2.0T
If its gonna be a project car, get it and remove the 1.8NA for the USDM 2.4T or just say fuck it and put a LS V8 in it for dem MURICA POWER
First Stage is one of my favorite series of all time, and the soundtrack is one of my favorite albums ever.
Why even bother importing one? Assuming you're in North America, shipping and paperwork will cost more than the car, it's gonna be RHD and i'm not even sure it'll have limited slip or other good bits.
Would be fine for ice practice, though
It's a manual 1992 325i. I put a "Powered by Super Eurobeat" sticker on it a few weeks ago.
Honestly, you're better off just importing one at this point. Every S13 on Craigslist either has 200k miles on it, is modded to shit, or both. If you're willing to a pay a premium, you get a JDM one in nearly flawless condition.
>Why even bother importing one? Assuming you're in North America, shipping and paperwork will cost more than the car, it's gonna be RHD and i'm not even sure it'll have limited slip or other good bits.
I'm in the UK, and those Silvias were only ever sold in Japan anyway.
I've looked into all the costs involved, it's really not that bad.
you'll be pretty cool guy.
And a douchebag, every honda driver is an asshole.
>tfw you will never be a qt anime girl's nii-san
>tfw you will never be a qt anime gril's nissan.
Get an S2000 so you can be GOD HAND
For that price, i'd rather get a Silvia, or a Skyline.
But for now, i can only afford some cheap as fuck shitbox.
Extreme Stage is actually really fun. It's only $20 on Amazon.
No, it goes downhill after Stage 3.
Not even kidding.
Grid 1 is pretty fun for tougay. Grid 2 a little bit less.
BABY YOU'LL BE MY
It's fine, Tsuchiya-san is Initial D related.
That looks pretty damn nice. How much did it run you?
It was around 4500 euros. Had to be imported from germany, because everyone is consumed in rally where I'm from
Damn, that's only about $5k. I feel like these things aren't as supremely rare and expensive as people make them out to be. You just have to be really serious about going out of your way to find one.
This thread needs more eurobeat
>that tsundere bromance between Shingo and Nakazato
That one looks pretty tame and could be functional.
>tfw the headlight switch broke and can't go out after dark until the new one comes in
Is there even a point in driving when the sun is still up?
Yep, all day every day for the summer
The rust is lot better than what it should be for having been in Minnesota its entire life. The previous owner bought it from a dealership that specialized in body work, which fixed up a lot though it could use a rear driver's side quarter panel. But I'll work on getting the engine and electrics just right before I worry about the cosmetic stuff
>not being a bad ass celibate street racer whom women want, but cannot have because you're already married to the streets
your secret is safe with me, anon
Some Bangle designs are actually pretty good looking.
Blame pedestrian safety regulations.
Don't sweat it, plenty AW11s around.
I'm in UK, the seller lived really close to me and I'm friends with a couple of his friends and I got to ride in it today, it really is an incredible little car, part of me wants to outbid the other guy but I haven't got that much money.
>I'm in the UK
So am I, there's a ton of AW11s around and even more SW20s.
I've noticed that recently some scummy dealers and delusional private sellers have started asking ridiculous prices on some of them, and the cars go unsold for months. Most of them are still decently priced though.
Post the ebay link mate, and I'll find you something wrong with the car so you don't feel as bad.
It did need some work, which was why I didn't try to outbid the other buyer, as I'd need money for that.
Actually looks alright.
MOT check shows some corrosion as advisory and you'd be looking at replacing the front springs.
Does seem really nice apart from that, and all AW11s have some rust anyway, shame you didn't win it.
Yeah there was a rust spot in one of the arches by the back wheels and some dings in the metal. Some convenient things he didn't photograph that I got to see in person myself. Atleast I got to experience the AW11.
Nah, but same as you I'm considering one as a next car and have been doing research.
I'm ripped between an AW11, SW20 or some older Celicas though.
>he can't feel the A E S T H E T I C S
>oh, anon-kun, please give me love & money
>sorry, baby, I'm running in the 90's, and I don't think you can keep pace with me
I love their interiors.
The felt lining on the doors and shape of the seats, how low you sit, and position of the shift knob feels like some kind of warm cocoon where you're free to worry about the road ahead and only the road ahead
Also it's gorgeous. I especially like the look of the early two-tone seats
It's the future and nostalgia woven together, you look forward to the next, but you know that no matter where you go, you'll always have something to come back to.
Goddamnit I WANT THAT CAR.
I have 5000 bucks, live in Germany,
which car should I buy?
I need at least 4 seats, and it needs that certain kind of 'initial d' flair.
I have been thinking toyota supra 3.0 turbo, but are there any alternatives?
Maybe something cheaper?
I drive a Volvo 240. It's a fucking joy to take for a spin.
Michele Mouton would like a word with you.
Don't worry lad, there will be another one. Do some further research, lurk some forums and study the mechanics of the car to kill time. Don't let it get to your head. When it comes to buying a car patience is almost always rewarded.
Have you thought about a Subaru?
AWD can be useful for both hitting the touge and making it through a harsh winter.
I have not seen a subaru yet that I really like the looks of,
but I may consider something.
seems generally rather expensive from just looking, I'd have to make a good deal,
but then the above still stands, that I rather don't like the looks of it.
Very rare here.
Yeah, I guessed so.
Seems like something pretty harsh to decide in general.
I may have to lurk /o/ for quite a bit more.
>seems generally rather expensive from just looking, I'd have to make a good deal,
>but then the above still stands, that I rather don't like the looks of it.
Early Imprezas are cheap.
Don't like these ones either?
That's also a true fact
>yfw you realize that without /a/, /o/ would just be tripfag dudebro's and minorities flexing their bench racer knowledge and shitposting about vette vs gtr.
ONE OF US
ONE OF US
Only one of my friends has a "nice" car, he drives a convertible cooper S, he was all gas happy when the most "nice" car I had was a 70's dart with a 318LA V8
But ever since I got a car faster than his' he wont even drive near me anymore
To top it all he aint even a weeb
It depends from car to car.
Impreza seems decent, but I still favor the supra.
If the +2 seats in the back are really useless I'll have to decide If I'll go for a different 4 seater, or maybe even just go for a 2-seater.
Maybe a miata or mr2, We'll see.
Anon, supras are expensive as fuck depending of the gen, and the way you are talking, I think you want a Mk4 one
Lets be real, they are really expensive
If all you want is a Initial D featured car, get a 240SX, its the S13 with pop up head lights and a bigger engine
If you are in the UK and don't care about power, Get a Cappuchino
If you just want good handling a miata will do you good
But if you really need a car to be your only car and do car stuff besides being fun, you need a hatch
Last gen Subaru's looked really nice with hatchbacks, and besides WRXs, the only other non FF hatchback is the BMW 130i
If you don't care about being FF, now you have the entire Hot Hatch market to pick
Focus ST and GTi are usually the to go hot hatchs nowadays
>Lets be real, they are really expensive
No they're not.
The only expensive Supra is the MK4 in manual and with Twin-tarbos.
The rest are cheap, but the MK3 will cost you a lot to maintain.
>If you are in the UK and don't care about power, Get a Cappuchino
If he's in the UK, why wouldn't he just get the UK spec S13 with the correct engine as opposed to the truck engine they put in the 240?
