Why do people say that Goku was a horrible father and think that Gohan has some deep daddy issues when whenever the guy was alive he was pretty much with him most of the time.

Like, unless he's dead or injured, he's there and usually tells Gohan to stand back while he handles everything.

The only times he voluntarily stayed away from his family was after namek blew up and after he died against Cell. But as a result of the former he learned Instant Transmission, which turned out to be VERY useful in the long run and the earth had 7 years of peace, the longest it had ever had at that point, because Goku wasn't there.

Never happened. Vegeta was simply stronger than goku in the saiyan arc when goku didn't use kaioken. He couldn't keep using it because that was hell on his body. Afterwards vegeta went great ape and goku had to resort to dirty tricks and surprise attacks since vegeta was innately more powerful.

Frieza was always stronger than goku naturally. Then goku went super saiyan and frieza got absolutely destroyed no matter what he did even at full power.

He was a match for cell and figured out gohan had the better chance of taking him down.

Vegeta wasn't betraying Frieza. At that point in the manga, he was weaker than Dodoria and was on par with Cui. He wasn't betraying ANYONE.

He got his largest perfomance increase on Earth when he learned to sense ki since, as Goku and Vegetto said, being able to sense ki gives you a MASSIVE advantage. Plus he learned how to focus his ki better than just throwing it out in a Galick Gun.
