Yachiru has no memory of any events further back than the day she met Kenpachi. However at some point she became aware of what she is, in fact she already knew when Kenpachi fought Ichigo. This is why she said "we will become stronger together" when Kenpachi said that he wanted to be stronger. Kenpachi is putting two and two together, our boy is using his head for something more than just headbutting people.

As someone who's translated shit before, I can understand the value of localization. Frankly, anyone who demands straight literal translations just doesn't understand how stupid that is, especially with two languages as utterly different as English and Japanese.

But Mangastream takes that shit way too far. Half the characters sound the same, many of their localizations are completely unnecessary and send the wrong message across, and for some reason they seem to have some kinda hard-on for the phrase "skills to pay the bills".

The worst thing a localizer can do is make shit up. Not making up slang is pretty much rule #1. Unfortunately, there's no real standard for localization, and this shit really isn't the kind thing they teach you in any school. So the only thing you can do is keep yourself in check and hope you reach a good equilibrium. The important thing is to keep the translation as accurate as possible while still making sure that you get the meaning across. Sometimes, that means tweaking the translation slightly in order to make eat easier to digest for the intended audience. If you need to write a lengthy TL Note on the side, it means you're doing it wrong. On the other hand, if no one understands your localization or it strays too far from the original intended meaning, then you've fucked up. It's a fine balancing act.

This is just something that came to me, this reveal basically makes every single character in this series with an unnatural hair color some kind of a supernatural being. Zanpakuto, Arrancarized Hollow, mythical dog/cat clam people. Everyone except Ichigo. And if White had orange hair, then that explains that too.

A Shinigami falls in love with a Quincy.

Unable to confess he's gifted by Kubo with the Quincy's phone number. Never minding the strange reiatsu, he immediately call her, and he's overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.

But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a disgusted expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn't exist in the living world at all. She is the girl's Vanderreich counterpart, who has fallen in love with the MC's own Soul Society self, who too is blissfully unaware of her crush.

Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer The Heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of LOVE.

Since learning about Unohana's past we now know that the name Yachiru is written with the kanji 八千流, as in "EightThousand Style(s)" a play on her role as the first Kenpachi:

Interestingly the name Unohana Retsu reads:

Like Zaraki the surname Kusajishi was taken from the district she (more or less) came from, the 79th. Like the 80th district, Zaraki, it was one of the outermost slums of SoulSociety and furtherst from the Seireitei and any semblence of law and order. The names were brought up in conjunction and as we know of Kubo's process of character development, it's entirely likely he designed Zaraki and Yachiru specifically for eachother, and thus the same time. Zaraki is written 更木, as in "New Tree" which actually has very little relevence to him as a character. What it more likely refers to is the slum itself and the nature of it being a slum, that background as a slumrat being the more relevent aspect of the name. "New Tree" is likely a simple metaphor for a housing project: a fresh sappling deliberately planted in a place with no trees and yet incapable of bearing fruit.

That said

Is likely also similarly evokative of the location but more subtly of Yachiru's character. The phrasing itself is synonomous with "wild animal" and a comment on the rabble in it. However in the now somewhat contentious scene where Yachiru scared off the Gotei messenger with a wildcat shaped reiatsu. The prowling hunting tactics of most wildcats point back to the name Kusajishi.
