So what do you guys think'll happen next?
Kubo really blows your mind with coming up with a weakness to what seems to be invincible, in a weird way sometimes, but recently if the series wasn't full of these trump cards, people would have actually appreciated his idea sort of like Araki does with some fight in JJBA
Zaraki going Bankai, Miracle getting BTFO'd, trying to do his miracle shit, getting BTFO'd even harder. trying more miracle shit, getting ultra-mega-final BTFO'd because honestly it's Zaraki and people have been drooling for this since forever.

ブリーチ 670話 ネタバレへ続く!!
Yachiru has no memory of any events further back than the day she met Kenpachi. However at some point she became aware of what she is, in fact she already knew when Kenpachi fought Ichigo. This is why she said "we will become stronger together" when Kenpachi said that he wanted to be stronger. Kenpachi is putting two and two together, our boy is using his head for something more than just headbutting people.
Amazing, this makes sense now with why the sword would be screaming as Ichigo's Quincy powers told him. After Kenpachi started trying to talk to his sword, it was Yachiru that heard it, internally and then realized what she was. Brilliant.
Goddammit. Yachiru was a fragment of Kenpachi's overflowing power that took form. She is not his zanpaktou, but a portion of his spiritual pressure.
She gives Kenpachi all her reiatsu and then disappears.
Does this mean that Yachiru was using one of Kenpachi techniques (maybe even bankai) when she used her "shikai"?
No. It could even mean that Kenpachi did not unlock a full shikai. He merely unlocked one part of it, like Yumichika or Rukia.
- full chapter of Yachiru and Ken talking
- she takes him to his inner world or something
- she explains she is his zan and how to learn his bankai's name
- chapter ends with Ken coming back to real world and preparing to release bankai
>She is not his zanpaktou
>"If you would use me properly"
She is not the zanpaktou proper, but she is his power. To put it in simpler terms, she's the OMZ to Ichigo's OMZ and Zangetsu duo. She is and isn't the zanpaktou, if you get my drift.
No, he needs something else, not just more raw power. His sword needs to be able to cut the concept of hope, so that he won't be hit with despair. Kenpachi has always been a mindless beast, but Bankai is suppose to teach you something about yourself, so that you become a better and more whole person.
>cutting the concept of hope
Then we have Yachiru's bankai form right here.
Yeah, she's a subservient entity of the zanpaktou.
Yes he can, if certain conditions are met there may be multiple incarnations of the same zanpaktou. Sogyou no Kotowari and Katen Kyokotsu are examples of such. However Yachiru was seemingly not even that, from her dramatic exit one is lead to believe that she is gone forever.
She says that Kenpachi should know her true name by now. Kenpachi says Yachiru, using the kanji for yoru (night) and chi (scatter), probably her true name.
The name Kenpachi gave her was written in kana, so this is most likely his bankai's name. Chapter ends with Kenpachi powering up, his reiatsu is so strong that it warps space. We do not see his bankai.
>If you would just use me properly
>A sword out of control
>Zaraki is always eluded to being a "beast" "without a heart"
>Zaraki can't use Kido or Shunpo
>Just incredible brute strength
>no blade is said to have cut him
>Zakari is beaten the only time known
His form of Kendo is literally "I WILL NEED TWO HANDS FOR THIS" What happens if he actually is swung and not just swinging himself? Yachiru says bankai, there is Zaraki's sword in her eye's reflection
Kenpachi can't use Kido or Shunpo because he has literally zero control over his spiritual energy. He's even worse than Ichigo, who was at least capable of focusing and somewhat refining his power. Kenpachi can't even do that.
>yfw this is the most purest form of truth
Kenpachi doesn't see a need to do it when he can just win. And keep winning.
Well, the line was in regards to Hirako telling Ichigo to be more proud of himself for helping ward of Yhwach before things could get any worse. Viz translated the line as "Stick your chest out, fool.", which makes much more sense.
>Kenpachi's bankai is a healing one like Captain Mom's shikai
As someone who's translated shit before, I can understand the value of localization. Frankly, anyone who demands straight literal translations just doesn't understand how stupid that is, especially with two languages as utterly different as English and Japanese.
But Mangastream takes that shit way too far. Half the characters sound the same, many of their localizations are completely unnecessary and send the wrong message across, and for some reason they seem to have some kinda hard-on for the phrase "skills to pay the bills".
He doesn't mean butchering the content to fit your political narrative, like SJW cunts do. He means making it more easily accessible to different cultures.
For example, Shinji speaks in Kansai-ben. One alternative here is to have him speak in a Texas dialect.
>Frankly, anyone who demands straight literal translations just doesn't understand how stupid that is, especially with two languages as utterly different as English and Japanese.
>wanting a literal translation for a word that can mean 4 different things.
Its like saying "that stuff is bad" should be directly translated.
Stuff can be anything and bad is sometimes used to mean positive things like, "that shit is bad" or "damn homie that is some bad stuff" or "the pleasure of being cummed inside is bad"
Translation itself is localization. the problem is that Bleach character don't talk like that and it creates an ooc effect. The only people who can pull off the Mangastream dialect is Shinji and Ooetsu.
Most people don't.
The worst thing a localizer can do is make shit up. Not making up slang is pretty much rule #1. Unfortunately, there's no real standard for localization, and this shit really isn't the kind thing they teach you in any school. So the only thing you can do is keep yourself in check and hope you reach a good equilibrium. The important thing is to keep the translation as accurate as possible while still making sure that you get the meaning across. Sometimes, that means tweaking the translation slightly in order to make eat easier to digest for the intended audience. If you need to write a lengthy TL Note on the side, it means you're doing it wrong. On the other hand, if no one understands your localization or it strays too far from the original intended meaning, then you've fucked up. It's a fine balancing act.
It's not bad. The movies have had worse plots. It's entertaining and there's actually good quality animation in it. In the last few years Pierrot actually had gotten really good with fillers. The biggest problem with fillers is that they make the character go really out of character and also rarely fit into the narrative scale of the canon plot. They cut down on that with the zanpakuto filler.
Zanpakutou Materialization and Reigai arcs have interesting stories. The plot kinda dragged on but they ended on good notes. Plus the fight scenes were fucking great.
Oh, man, I remember that scene. He went from scheming to bitching that Ichigo's got power, Ichigo's got friends, right? It was a pretty good show down especially because of how Ichigo cut him down. Too bad the music playing in that scene was never released
>Kenpachi heals the wounds of his enemies just to fight them for a longer period of time
This is just something that came to me, this reveal basically makes every single character in this series with an unnatural hair color some kind of a supernatural being. Zanpakuto, Arrancarized Hollow, mythical dog/cat clam people. Everyone except Ichigo. And if White had orange hair, then that explains that too.
All the Shinigami and human characters have normal hair.
Except Hachi and Ooetsu who probably dye it.
Ichigo dyes his hair orange thou. White having blonde hair is just the byproduct of his transformation. Ichigo has normal black hair, as we have seen when he came out of the passage tunnel. Enough time passed that his hair grew out.
They had to add some sort of quality with all that fucking filler. They invest real quality in filler to make up for shit pacing away from the source material. Which is why Bleach filler is actually worth watching. One of the "top 3" fillers actually worth a damn. They were entertaining.
That is a fucking shoop. It has to be. I'm certain Ichigo mentions he dyes his hair. Even in the anime he has long Black hair. So that is a mistake in the mango, and corrected in the anime.
Yes, he does it subconsciously to replenish himself.
This wait is killing me. Worse than waiting on seeing Urahara's bankai. At least you got to see that weird puppet thing to speculate on. Right now we only have the satisfaction of theorys being correct, but to what purpose?
Can you tell me what your false memory is of the chapter where Ichigo dyes his hair?
Was it Rukia saying "hey you have orange hair" and Ichigo saying "yeah I actually dye my hair", or perhaps something more spectacular?
It's okay, you're in a bleach thread. No need to try to fit in so hard.
A Shinigami falls in love with a Quincy.
Unable to confess he's gifted by Kubo with the Quincy's phone number. Never minding the strange reiatsu, he immediately call her, and he's overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.
But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a disgusted expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn't exist in the living world at all. She is the girl's Vanderreich counterpart, who has fallen in love with the MC's own Soul Society self, who too is blissfully unaware of her crush.
Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer The Heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of LOVE.
Not here yet, just fastfoward time and go to bed.
this page makes sense now
>hey where do you come from?
>taps sword, Meaning "I came from sword"
>Yachiru is sword
>Sword is reflection of soul
>Yachiru appeared as infant
Zaraki's true nature is the inner child he lost when thrown into a life of violence. The core of his being, and thus his power, is to revert things to their true form, prior to corruption. He'll use his bankai to turn Gerard into a disembodied
Get a load of Einstein over here. A week later after all the discussion has happened.
post yfw ywach kills orohime in front of ichigo then revives her using old yama's bankai to fight him.
>yfw Ywach used Yama's bankai to fight Ichigo
fixed, wanna see how Ichigo go up against Yama's bankai, shit's much more interesting.
Should I post Kenpachi vs Nnoitra fight in hype for the chapter? Don't like all the captains in general but that fight was so fucking good.
FunFact: Yachiru's names came from Unohana Retsu's old name and the name of the 79th Rukongai district. Yachiru has been one of a few characters whose Japanese name has never been written in kanji. Zaraki had heard Unohana's name spoken but never knew how to write it, so Yachiru is named phonetically:
Since learning about Unohana's past we now know that the name Yachiru is written with the kanji 八千流, as in "EightThousand Style(s)" a play on her role as the first Kenpachi:
Interestingly the name Unohana Retsu reads:
>卯ノ花: Flower of EarlyMorning
Like Zaraki the surname Kusajishi was taken from the district she (more or less) came from, the 79th. Like the 80th district, Zaraki, it was one of the outermost slums of SoulSociety and furtherst from the Seireitei and any semblence of law and order. The names were brought up in conjunction and as we know of Kubo's process of character development, it's entirely likely he designed Zaraki and Yachiru specifically for eachother, and thus the same time. Zaraki is written 更木, as in "New Tree" which actually has very little relevence to him as a character. What it more likely refers to is the slum itself and the nature of it being a slum, that background as a slumrat being the more relevent aspect of the name. "New Tree" is likely a simple metaphor for a housing project: a fresh sappling deliberately planted in a place with no trees and yet incapable of bearing fruit.
>Kusajishi: 草鹿="Grass Beast"
Is likely also similarly evokative of the location but more subtly of Yachiru's character. The phrasing itself is synonomous with "wild animal" and a comment on the rabble in it. However in the now somewhat contentious scene where Yachiru scared off the Gotei messenger with a wildcat shaped reiatsu. The prowling hunting tactics of most wildcats point back to the name Kusajishi.
We don't really know. The only Shinigami we have seen die is Yamamoto, and his charred blade is on display in the 1s Division HQ.
Tosen merged with his zanpakuto in his resurrection form, Kaien's zanpakuto was disintegrated before he died, and Gin disappeared from the fucking plot entirely after he fell to the ground.
We don't really get cool chapter names like back before.
Actually "Yachiru" as the name of someone Zaraki cared about was always written 八千流, but Yachiru, his Lt., always had her name written in hiragana.
It's also why his Hollow is so fucking broken. Think about it. Ichigo naturally produces so much reiatsu, it flows out of him like crazy. This is on top of the fact that Ywach's shadow was suppressing the vast majority of it, and ON TOP OF THE FACT that the suppressed Hollow was still devouring vast amounts of power himself.
>Ichigo has managed to fight Ywach's shadow decently throughout the manga within his own mind and even when he was trying to learn bankai
>Only reason Ywach's shadow ever won, is because even as a memory fragment, he had way more battle experience than Ichigo--being that he's Quincy. Plus given Ywach himself's statements that he watched Ichigo's growth all along through his own eyes aka via powers that resonate across blood, space and time
>and that Ywach stated that Quincy reiatsu can in fact unlock MEMORIES inside of reiatsu
>this makes this idea full circle
But, when Ichigo wants to learn FGT, Ywach's shadow pulls out the hollow from Ichigo and fuses with it to fight him as both as one. Here, Ichigo even monologues that the difference between the two, despite everything he's accomplished to date, is so great that Zangetsu could have ended the fight in an instant if he really wanted to.
So yeah, Ywach's shadow = strong. Hollow devouring Ichigo's powers while having his own, while having said power subconsciously replenished some bit by the Quincy nature of his blood = broken as fuck; and the two fused together = power so obscene that they de-evolved Aizen from his full hollow state to practically right before he entered metamorphosis.
well technically it doesn't debunk it, Kubo writes it to distinguish the two names apart, but by all rights Zaraki was illiterate at the time he first met Unohana, and at the time he first found Yachiru.
It would make sense for Kenpachi to learn how to read once he entered the Gotei 13 though, wouldn't it. It's still a very strict military organization and requires lots of paperwork. Plus, orders are often being passed on via scrolls.
I CAN TELL THAT YOU'VE NEVER BEEN TRUE TO ME
I CAN SMELL THAT YOU'RE ACTING SO FEARFULLY
I CAN HEAR WHAT YOU'RE HOPING I WANT TO HEAR
I CAN FEEL THE ALARM BELLS ARE RINGING IN ME
I CAN TOUCH BUT I KNOW YOU DON'T FEEL A THING
I CAN PRAY BUT I KNOW YOU COMMIT A SIN
I CAN SENSE, NOW IT'S ALL BECOME CLEAR TO SEE
YOU'RE NO GOOD, AND YOU MEAN NO GOOD, TREACHEROUSLY
>cutting through time
>One of Ywach's real power is being able to see through time; the past, present and future are all the same context to him
>Ichigo finally has the entirety of Zangetsu with him now
>he hasn't used his bankai yet
Does anybody else think Nnoitra would have a good advantage over Shunsui in a shikai fight? Shunsui is as vulnerable to his rules as his enemies and the 5th Espada has way more blades and range to attack and block attacks so the chances of Shunsui getting cut is way higher.
>sword is protecting his master
So good Kubo.
he might have dual mugetsus that are nerfed but can extend as fast as Gin's Shinsō, multiply like Tousen's Benihikō, and be thrown like Cifer's Lanza del Relámpago, because White absorbed their traits during their encounter. It'll be a white mugetsu but he'll be in hollow armor.
It's what immediately came to my mind as well.
I guess that timing was kinda perfect for the page. ....Just as planned.
Honestly, I don't really like how fragile the larger blade looks. Also, the shape of the hilt makes it look like it'd be a little uncomfortable to hold two-handed. I liked the second Zangetsu better.
It seemed like he actually insulted Simmons by implying he was more disturbed by the fact that he is an artist to begin with.
Well his comic was cancelled and his art career is basically over.
>not using two hands to king like kong
This is lost information through attrition. I happen to remember what he said verbatim, "Actually I'm just surprised that Gene Simons's son is a mangaca/comic book artist." And he left the issue to WSJ lawyers and they removed the comic from she shelves. And that was the end of that. Nothing big really happened, it was a one-week drama.
>tis' but a scratch
He's literally retarded.
>TRACES someone's manga
>sells it to the public
now he will look older and lost his shinigami powers
>he turns into ichigo
>HE has no style
>HE has no grace
What did they mean by this?
So he's literally the anti-miracle.
no, he doesn't cut through time, he'll just erase everything in time, BLEACH it clean. It's like if King Crimson cut something.
I have no idea how the fuck any of it works.
is bleach the richest among the big three when it comes to references in japanese literature/lore/myth? every fucking name has a lore behind it and even the things that they do.
It's the most cultured out of the Big Three flat out but Naruto is a bit more heavy on Japanese mythology than Bleach if only because that's the only thing it references ever.
Bleach deals well with German culture at its core, Spaniard and the resulting South-American cultures at their core, Japanese Culture at its core and I assume American/British culture at their cores if the Fullbringer arc got more time
>It would make Yachiru a magnificent bastard
She definitely has the potential
Bleach presents it's lore inspired from different cultures in very veiled and interesting ways rather than being all blatant, ham-fisted, and in your face about it like Naruto was.
Neither of these seem unlikely anymore.
Kenpachi could either be the literal consciousness of the Spirit King in an amnesiac state...
Or some sort of Cubia-equivalent for the Spirit King (It would explain why he and Aizen have, with no training, outright stronger spiritual pressure than anyone else).
>not taking your second hand everywhere you go
Calling it now: Aizen IS the spirit King, only he made himself and everyone else forget as he created a placeholder/split his consciousness and went to walk among the people.
Instead of being benevolent, he turned evil from the nature of everyone in the world, and subconsciously sought to return to where he originally came from, except he had no idea that he was the spirit king originally.
I hope i'm wrong (and odds are I am but this would absolve Aizen of a lot of his past transgressions, and would make him a blatant Spirit Jesus.
Yeah...I mean I honestly really find it interesting how the Quincies have been presented with their powers in this really multifaceted way:
>Use of blood to power-up
>Hellsing-levels of blood metaphor
>Blood is the property of its original owner, all Quincies return their power (and blood) to Ywach
>It is considered impure to mix with Hollows in any capacity.
Then you had the Vizards and spaniard -> early Hispanic culture
>focus on might-makes-right
>Clear separation between old world (hueco Mundo) and new, civilized world (Los Noches).
>Aristocratic hierarchy with god-like figure at the top
>Catholic influence in the form of Aizen and his eventually suicidal-missions.
>tfw kenken's bankai doesn't allow the enemies it cut to heal
>which won't let thor recover the lost limbs
>nor power them up
>and it completely counters unohana's powers
This would make a lot of sense.
It would also be useful in negating the Blut that the quincies and Ywach use to heal or harden themselves. It might even have meta-properties to 'cut' the letter and powers Ywach has away from him
>Aizen and his eventually suicidal-missions.
His theme song had the words
Also Gin's words
>dieing with a hole in your chest. Isn't that what you always wanted?
It must be horrible to want to die and become immortal in the process
he didn't have any attachment to the world probably. People don't turn into hollows because they're evil, they turn into hollows because they're attached to something or someone in the world
yeah, no one had a sentient sword before.
It was previously broken, he shouldn't have been able to release bankai according to Gerard(?), but he did so either way.
Knowing Kenpachi though, that's just the form of his sword. Gerard loses his sword and shield and gets knocked off the palace. He grows wings and flies up again, only to get cleaved in half.
So.. it's a incomplete Bankai?
So that page got me interested again. I stopped reading ages ago though so I had no idea where I was, I figured I'd start over from the beginning. I got two thirds the way through the Hueco Mundo Arc. Good god I forgot how bad it was. It just never fucking ends.
Literally everyone's sword is sentient, and everyone with Bankai can also materialize their sword, they just usually don't (probably because they would be vulnerable).
You know, at least what they said about Bankai being something that cannot be repaired makes the fact that people don't use their bankai all the time make more sense (because it's a risk whenever they do). Except Komamura, who can actually repair it (but also risks damage), and Ichigo who didn't even know. I wonder if Daiguren Hyorinmaru is used so often because it's formless and made up from water gathered in the atmosphere, but I'd think the sword would still be vulnerable.
Possibly. But how do you train something so powerful that causes you to lose all reason?
I can't say that reliably, as he has not turned on the others. But yes, he howls like a beast.
>all those futa doujinshi of Yoruichi ended up predicting Yoruichi's actual bankai
Grew literal horns.
What the fuck is the ability of this dude's zanpakuto?
Looks like Kenpachi twisted the dude's arm rather than cutting it off. So Does the zanpakuto give him beast like strength and speed and appearance?
>He grows wings and flies up again, only to get cleaved in half.
>Starrk and Lilynette will never come back
Of all the Arrancar they were the ones who deserved to live the most.
>The fact that Yachiru is physically his word walking around.
Just feel blown out when you learn she's his sword, and everything will be fine.
Shikai damage impedes the release. Power-types seem to be capable of working their way around it though. Ichigo has never released with a broken shikai so we don't know how he handles it.
Byakuya had a special way of releasing with a broken sword.
Yoruichi was in her Bankai form the first time she appears in the series.
To be honest, it was pretty a vague death, like the other two that actually came back (zombies excluded, and I sure as hell didn't expect Luppi to show up again).
Despite his death being one of the most definite deaths in the series as a whole (tied with Barragan), I wouldn't have been too surprised by Ulquiorra showing up again eventually.
>connecting his two blades together makes a Traditional design for Japanese Longbow
>his bankai is becoming a quincy
>the guy who fought Rukia
>complaining about shark tits getting more screen time
Why do get the feeling that Gerard's gonna be dead not because Kenpachi's bankai has a power to neutralize miracles, but Kenpachi inspires everyone?
If Gerard's miracles rely on the people around and their fears, thoughts, feelings or hopes or whatever it is, then I'm willing to bet that Kenpachi going bankai and beast mode is gonna remove all fears or thoughts of anyone around that Gerard won't die or be defeated, and so because no one fears it or believes otherwise, Gerard can't do a miracle and survive
I cry like a bitch nigga every time.
Kinda want this. Gerald senses the fear from the captains. Zaraki is a beast, we have seen quincy go final form, not even my final form, and final form X2. These were all elite quincy. We're in for another month or two of battles.
This would be perfect IMO.
It would mimic how he defeated Gremmy...Not with outright violence but the psychological effect of that violence.
It would also lead back into the idea that he's a OPM-type being as some aspect of the Soul King
What if Zaraki is a Soul King something, or a Hollow something?
The marks on his face have only been seen in hollow-ish people (Ginjo, Ichigo) and Quincy-ish people (Gerard, Lille, Pernida)
