Newly posted interview with Nami Sano, Hikaru Midorikawa, and Shinji Takamatsu. There are also new images from the anime which I will post.
Some of the salient points were
>Midorikawa had not heard of the manga until he read it for the audition. "This is weird" was his first impression. He meant it in a good way though since he found it quite funny.
>Making scenes in the manga look cool/stylish is easy because a lot of the motion is left to the imagination; making Sakamoto's Levitation Sidestep, for instance, look cool in motion was one major challenge
>What makes Sakamoto so unusual as a gag manga is that the reader is the tsukkomi. Sano noticed this when Wide Shoulders short became popular and ran with the idea; there's no shortage of tsukkomi characters anyway.
>Many people on the internet thought Midorikawa was the perfect fit for the role and the confirmation of his casting was considered by many to be a "slam dunk." Midorikawa himself admitted he felt he was meant for the role
>They were worried about making Sakamoto's stylish scenes too sparkly, but in the end kept them that way
>Apparently the sumo match between Sakamoto and 8823 is something "super cool" and resembles something out of Dragon Ball
>Much emphasis was placed on making every member of the cast was as top-notch as Midorikawa. Even characters who didn't have names in the manga were given famous seiyuu
>The staff humorously noticed that Sakamoto doesn't have that many lines compared to the other characters, especially when other characters are the focus of the chapter. Sometimes, Sakamoto will only have spoken a single line. This is another unusual aspect of the series
>In closing, Sano reminded viewers to pay close attention to the time Sakamoto finds the slug in the lettuce, as it showcases a certain kindness that he doesn't usually show.
So cool! Sakamoto is super cool.
I just hope the animation isn't TOO shitty.

>>139681862
Thanks for samefagging so much I guess.
>>139682019
I want to keep this thread alive, senpai.
>>139681793
It should be fine as long as it doesn't go full QUALITY. I don't imagine it's demanding at all in terms of having a lot of motion all the time, so it's a fit for DEEN.
The real thing that matters is the comedic timing.
>>139682520
This is the director who did Nichibros, Gintama, and Ixion Saga. I don't think they could have picked someone better for a comedy.

>The real thing that matters is the comedic timing.
Which we know will be good considering the director we got.
This is gonna be a solid adaption. And if this thread is any telling of what's to come, with minimal shitposting.
>>139682717
>with minimal shitposting
That's because it's ass o'clock in the US. When daytime comes around we'll get the people claiming Sakamoto is fujoshit or whatever label they think of next.
>>139681680
>one day
I can't fucking wait.
>>139684224
Just fall asleep for 24 hours or forever
There's a somewhat new PV, mostly identical to the previous one but with a couple different scenes.

What the hell happened to batoto? Do I need to register now to be able to read comics?
>>139684424
Basically yes. Newly-posted chapters can be read without an account for a certain amount of time. Otherwise you need to log in.
>>139684475
Thank you.
Will they adapt all the material?
>>139685073
Hopefully. There's not a whole ton of source material in the first place
While we're on the topic of new anime, anybody else hyped for Bundou Stray Dogs? Manga is cool if not a bit rushed, and the PV looks pretty nice with a kick-ass soundtrack.
>>139682019
>you'll never be even 1/100th of cool Sakamoto is
>>139685073
I don't see them adapting the important parts of the 4th volume unless some chapters get skipped.
>>139685291
I am a 100% lesbian little girl, but I'd go straight for Sakamoto.
will DEEN save anime?
>>139685511
>Implying they didn't save it since Sakura Trick.
hah.
>>139685511
They're working at it.
>>139683800
>those inevitable posts complaining about Sakamoto being a gary stu, ironic or not
I'd rather have Mary Poppins jokes
>>139685511
DEEN is becoming the best studio very rapidly.
>>139686435
>>139681680
>Sakamoto will only have spoken a single line. This is another unusual aspect of the series
Quality over quantity. No problem with this because Midorikawa's voice is earsex.
>>139686502
Kyoani is rapidly declining

Fuck off and kill yourself, mentally ill retard.

Kill yourself.

Do you have any peers? Nyaa doesn't count.
>>139686976
Yes butmost of them make fun of me behind my back or just use me
>>139686888
Yes.
