Sailor Moon fans are older and more demanding than the little girls watching Precure.

The merchandise is more expensive, also.

It was great, love the new transformations.

Shit this actually looks like effort was put in. The character model look like an update of the 1992 anime with a bit of Precure thrown in. And the writing is a bit better with the comedy being back. It's not ultra serious and dramatic as it was but a good balance of what a magical girl story is.

Everyone knows Toei quickly made a Sailor Moon anime so they could keep the rights to a Sailor Moon anime adaption which is a similar contract Sony has with the Spider Man property.

If Sony doesn't do anything with Spider Man for a significant number of years, the rights to Spider Man go back to Marvel.

Her work on the 2nd and 3rd seasons of Nodame Cantabile where mediocre. She got fired from directing Hanasakeru Seishounen cause she was doing such a bad job it pissed off all the fans of the manga. Did anyone like how Higurashi or Umineko series turned out? Junjou Romantica is a fucking joke.

The one series I can honestly say I loved the anime for was Otome Youkai Zakuro (Season 2 fucking never). Golden Time was OKAY, not sure if Kon was to blame or just the source material there though.

It's not even nostalgia goggles for me since I never grew up on it, and I only watched it for the first time around 5 years ago.
It's about 200 eps which is pretty intimidating, but the characters, and their interactions, and great direction by many talented people on the crew doesn't make each ep feel like a chore.

It's up to you, if you enjoy slice of life, mostly character driven shows you may enjoy sailor moon.

In all honesty, the 90s anime didn't flesh them out that much. They had like one or two substantial episodes every season. But are you surprised that a series named Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon is mainly about said character?
