The Inciting Incident for the entire series was his mothers murder. He wen't back in time to save his MOTHER, not Kayo. Kayo and the other girls were simply means to that end.
In turn, his mother took care of the son, who she didn't know saved her life, for 15 years on FAITH that he would wake up.

The story came full circle. She is Best Girl.
Kayo became pointless to the story once he saved her, so the author, as any smart writer would, he benched her. Her story arc was done.

Ask yourself, what would Satoru trying to wife/fuck Kayo actually accomplish for the Characters main goals? How is that gonna stop the bad guy? How is that gonna save his mother life and his own freedom from prison?

If there's one thing I think literature does better than a lot of other story-telling media, it's that it leaves a lot more ambiguous, and/or a lot more is given to the reader to interpret and understand themselves. Other kinds of media seems to revel in explaining every little fucking thing, and maybe that's just because it has to pander to a wider audience or something
