Non-cam versions of the latest PVs are out
JJL translations soon maybe
Since it was so popular last time:
>find which jojo chapter came out the week you were born
>find your favorite quote/panel from that chapter
Do you have any weird phobias, /a/?
Jotaro is 6'4'', or 195 cm.
Koichi is fucking 5'2'', or 157 cm.
I am a scrub and meant Josuke.
Anon from last night that was asking for drawing criticism. Here's attempt 2:
I can't tell if it was the chapter of the v olume itself, but wikipedia says it came out the day after my birthday.
Being born to a monster being served [justice] is a gureato feeling.
I haven't read dead man's questions, so until I do, I am free to imagine Kira suffering pic related from ugly, unnatractive hands for all eternity.
When should I begin reading "Dead man's question"?
Right now I'm in the middle of part 6, and the storyline is like between in the end of part 4 & part 6.
Imagine him more like this.
According to Dead Man's Questions, he managed to escape the hands, but lost his memories in the process. Now he works as a ghost assassin. But it's not canon anyway, so you don't need to think about it too much.
Whenever you want to. It doesn't really tie into the Jojo manga in any way other than the main character's name. It's probably just like that Jolyne Gucci one-shot in that regard.
Dio's World 12. Right on my birthday March 9, '92.
>implying just because araki writes and draws something under the "jojo" name that it is canon
lol what are you talking about anon? First half of stardust crusaders, let's go to the mangaka's house chapter 3 and all of vento aureo isn't canon either.
Stop trying to copy a certain style until you get the fucking fundamentals down. This shit is full of errors despite there being next to no lines on the paper. Go read up on, and practice, perspective and anatomy. Your lines are okay I guess, could be a bit cleaner.
Was getting punched in the leg really, really hard DIO's only weakness?
>under the "jojo" name
There's no telling either way really, but I do see what those two anons meant because his fate there is awfully mild , plus there's also that one Jolyne one-shot that uses familiar names and character designs but clearly can't be canon.
Did SomeStuffs sub the trailers yet? Steel Ball Jack sucks. In the original PV he subbed "何だこれ?" as "Is this an advertisement or something?".
Chapter 92, Caesars's Lonely Youth (5)/The Crimson Bubble, release date Monday 10th October 1988 (3 days before my birth).
"In other words, you're already dead."
Great for me because I fucking hate Caesar.
YES YES YES
also, oh god you are all babies, what the fuck?
Denial of old detected
it's okay anon, me too
I don't know what I expected from youtube subs.
>No, I'll kick your ass myself
Wow a chapter came out the same day I was born, feels good
"This is a work where I drew a character who longs for the peace of his heart even after death, and who continues to grow mentally. This character is the greatest adversary in "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4", a dead murderer. In the world of life after death, if the spirit lives on, it would not be a world where anything goes, but where there are "rules", just like this world. The ghost should go through the same amount hardships as we do, if not more." t. Araki
Deal with it faggots.
woah no i'm not that old fuck you
Kosaku Kira was revealed the week I was born
Wrong picture, here's the best page from that chapter.
Probably not at all, rather the arc probably would have. I imagine that the Crusaders wouldn't have trust Hol fully despite him fulfilling all the story beats Avdol does in Egypt but him saving Polly and Iggy would have solidified him as a hero to them at the cost of his death, just the same as it happened.
Actually a day after I was born, but still
Emperor would have been a great addition to the Crusaders, it's shit on its own but a great support stand. Like, Hol Horse could have just shot Mariah if he was stuck in the magnet trap like Avdol was.
I am sorry for not treating the japanese cartoon forum on the anonymous imageboard 4chan with the respect and reverance it deserves, anon-dono.
i made a mistake and did not realise that there is only room for fully serious discussion in these threads.
posting the whole page because it's gold and
you need the context
It came out on the same day as I was born
Oh this damn rat....
>you will never cum buckets all over Jotaro
>literally the best page in the entire manga
I was born on a blessed week
The closest chapter was released 3 days after I was born. It is chapter 57, 'The Pillar Man: Santana' (4), originally JoJo vs. the Ultimate Life-Form .
we're soul mates you and I anon
Chapter 465. Anything involving the Sex Pistols is great.
I was also born the day part 5 volume 2 came out. My favorite part of that was all of it because Giorno was still cool then.
>tfw rereading through jojo
>tfw seeing the gradual evolution of araki's artstyle and the gradual craziness that ensues with each part
how does one man come up with this?
from a by-the-numbers hnk homage to something entirely unique and loved for over 20+ years?
Chapter 1 of Stone Ocean
I'm not bothered cropping out the right panel on its own
I'm still reading Stardust Crusaders tho
What's so special about JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and why is it so critically acclaimed?
I've finished watching part 3 and desu I don't see why its such a really well respected show. I mean I understand why people love it, its got manly men doing things and a good sense of honesty in what its trying to achieve but many critics love to consider it "the savior of anime" and hype it to high heavens.
Heck part 4 is already being coined AOTS even before being airing. Not even Boku no Hero Academia is receiving this much hype.
Personally while I found it fun (moreso for the memes), it also has its fair share of problems. In part 3 for example there are a lot of edgy moments throughout (dogs getting impaled through the face anybody?), the humor is downright juvenile (aka the whole episode with Polnareff as a kid), Jotaro is nothing more than a gary stu and the entire final episode is an asspull.
Now I wouldn't have had a problem with the hype if only the fans of the show hadn't bashed other shows by citing criticisms that are actually present in JoJo. What so if another anime shows people getting butchered for no reason its automatically shit but apparently it gets a pass in JoJo? Is there something I'm missing here?
I think it's just a fun series, not necessarily 'critically acclaimed' like it's a storytelling darling. It's meant to be a bit crass, jump the shark (on purpose) quite a bit, characters wield powers that are extremely overpowered or completely broken beyond all logic. It's like a great pro-wrestling show, where nothing makes much sense at times, but it's still top tier entertainment when all the parts come together, the visuals, voice acting, the comedy, the action and the wild, insane, bizarre premise.
'd like to add to this that a reason why many people stick with JoJo so much is because of how diverse it is. Every part is radically different from the last, where parts 1 and 4 aren't even comparable anymore (if you didn't know better you'd say they were 2 different series). Every part has something different going for it, and it keeps the series fresh over time. A new part of JoJo is pretty hype because it won't be just another season, it'll be a whole new plot, setting, characters, everything. There is a reason I stuck with the manga all the way from beginning to end without ever getting bored with the series.
Eh, it had its fair share of problems. Gio was a pretty boring main character (still not as boring as
Jotaro from SDCthough), Diavolo was a pretty generic villain kinda like Dio but without any connection to the other characters and lacking all of his homoerotic charme, and the pacing was really horrible. The stands were great, though.
The reason why Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is so great, to me at least, is that it's a very creative series with a lot of interesting concepts especially when it comes to fights. The plot isn't that stellar, yeah, but I feel like the fun situations and characters more than make up for it.
If you didn't like Parts 1-3, then I'd say it's just best to drop the series.
Chap 413 cheap trick 2 5/29/95
bday is 30th
One of my least favorite fights of part 4
This is what I like about the series too. I love how it feels like an epic story that continues on from generation to generation with different tones that match the current time period. JoJo isn't the story of one main character it's the story of an entire family and their accomplishments and failures which makes it a lot more interesting.
Not only that, the characters all have some flaws as well. They're not picture-perfect goody two shoes (with the notable exception of Jonathan Joestar, the gentle giant and gentleman extraordinaire)
>Joseph knocks up some random Japanese chick and ditches her completely, hiding the fact from his wife
>Jotaro marries and has a child, then realizes he isn't cut out to be either a father or a husband, divorces his wife and hardly ever visits his daughter, even when she's on the brink of dying from a heavy fever
>Josuke and his friends use a fat kid to get rich and cheat the national lottery
The way I always viewed is that the main characters get further and further from the gentleman that is Jonathan, at least the first impression you have. (At least until Part 6)
I can't really put Joseph into words, but Jotaro is generally rather rude, Josuke comes off as a short-tempered delinquent, Giorno wants to be a GangStar, Jolyne starts off in jail for murder.
Here's Jotaro without the face lines.
Also, the general tone of the characters is very different from your usual action manga. They felt unique or genuine without falling into flanderization. They all have quirks, or gestures that strengthen the characters without burying them into routine. Also, the humor is fucking genuine, you don't see that too much in other manga.
I think that is a result of Araki being a big fucking westaboo, he combines the best from both worlds.
i can't believe i share a birthday with a meme
Here's one that gives a better comparison.
>Shit characters ("wtf didya say about mah HAIRR!", a literal retard and the a manlet with more transformation than a dragon ball character)
>Even more "filler" than in Part 3 (at least they advance towards Dio in this one). And no, I mean literally filler in manga form. As a reader, having to withstand shitty Saturday morning cartoon villains after having a great villain like Kira and having to read entire chapters before returning to his new daily live was fucking awful.
>Jotaro was so fucking strong that he had to be nerfed to the ground or otherwise he would have wiped the floor with everyone (bad writing).
It's shit fampai.
Pathetic. Wouldn't expect otherwise from Diamond is Unbearablefags.
(quite possibly a troll)
My favorite part about jojo is when it goes off because it has a really cool song.
My 2nd favorite thing about jojo are three poses.
Anyone got a link that shows all the poses that the jojo characters have struck?
Does anyone have something like this but for Part 3?
Those subs suck though.
That's great, but not the best about Koyasu.
Try watching the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX episodes where Judai fights against a guy called Saoiu. It's the same voice as DIO, but also has a card called "The World" based on the tarot cart. The coincidences are hillarious.
>Shit characters ("rero rero rero", a literal dog and the a magic black man)
>Even more "filler" than in Part 2 (at least they advance towards the Pillar Men in this one). And no, I mean literally filler in manga form. As a reader, having to withstand shitty Saturday morning cartoon villains after having a great villain like Whammu and having to read entire chapters before returning to his rivalry with Joseph was fucking awful.
>Joseph was so fucking strong that he had to be nerfed to the ground or otherwise he would have wiped the floor with everyone (bad writing).
It's like someone looked at the art style of the Part 4 anime and tried to copy it but failed.
Already posted it in the other thread, but anyways. It really sucks to have been born during one of my least favourite fights.
I think so, there's no way it'll be left as it is now for the whole thing considering how many different looks it has in the manga
David is going to pull the exact same thing they did for SC; add a lot of small "references" to the next part.
Koichi hair turning blonde will be a reference to how Giorno went from black to blonde due to his stand.
There are some things we really don't want. This is one of them.
What do you think of the past exploration?I can't think of a term for it but Araki uses one of the last few chapters in a fight to give a background story for the minor villain or crew member. I like it, I think it adds more depth and makes you feel for the characters, especially since they're pretty much all tragic (like Ringo's)
And he's still competent compared to the other villains.
Honest question; should I read the part 3 manga? After the anime ended half a year ago, I read through parts 4-8, and just finished parts 1 & 2 recently. Given that its as long as all the other later parts and I already know whats going to happen, is it still worth it?
Start doing it and keep going as long as you feel like it. But the end is probably the best part with the Dio fight. So you can jump around I suppose. It's fun to see Araki's art evolve.
Speaking of which, I'm really excited to see what the sound effect will be for Kira's bombs. What with them not being heard by non-stand users, erasing people and in general not being very loud, I can imagine it being some sort of reverse explosion sound.
The sound design has been one of my favorite things about the anime so far.
For real, his obsession with few things (Fate and Dio), counting prime numbers, twisting everything he says as something that has to do with fate, and his general asocial tendencies after his sister's death make him one hell of a mentally troubled guy.
The 1st half of the part 3 anime was extremely hard to get through (part 3 as a whole is probably my 2nd least favourite part just judging by the anime) so i'll probably skip towards the end just to see how its handled, and go back to the beginning when they eventually release the Jojonium edition for part 3.
I don't know, the thing is that you kinda need to see how they handle the movement and such things since they are animators.
But if we just look at the art presented in the picture then yeah, Komino is up there. He was also the character designer for Part 3. And yeah, they spelled his name wrong in the picture.
Okay, sorry to bring in vidya trash to a JoJo thread, but I just wanted to say that Nero's devil trigger in DMC4 totally fucking looks like a stand.
>part 2 felt like a chore
What's it like having shit taste?
let me show you how it's done newfag.
What about the Clamp doujinshi?
nice, you sure showed him
Here's hoping they don't use the same song every time someone gets dora'd by Josuke like they did every time Jotaro was about to win.
Then again, Josuke also doesn't rake in as many straight wins in a row so it wouldn't be as annoying if it happens. I just miss battle tendency's soundtrack where there's like half a dozen tracks for shit getting real despite the part being 1/3 of the length of SC. The ambient and suspense stuff was god tier though.
Pls don't fuck it up, David.
After indirectly killing his sister the whole Stand business and DIO must have seemed like a dream to Pucci. The arrow even gave him the power to store Perla's soul. DIO gave his life meaning again and also represented an ideology that let him cope with his loss.
Here's a fun what if, done by one of the animators.
Don't listen to them, it's perfectly fine and pretty much a 1:1 adaption. Issue is that a lot of the fights are too long for one episode, but a bit too short for two episodes, meaning the pace can seem a bit "off" at times, but you can't really blame David for that.
And it might just be me, but personally I found the endless stream of Stand assassins more appetizing in a weekly format than reading through it which felt exhausting at times.
>there are still people who think Pucci is a negro
I was born when Kira was gon' get got but didn't.
I tried editing away most of the face lines in paint with a mouse so it's not good.
I couldn't get over that episode of Sekko Boys when Koyasu and Eisidisi's seiyuu (couldn't recall his name, bear with me) voiced Molière and Brutus, both statue busts.
Guess both DIO and Jotaro somehow became pillar men as well, eh.
Here is a Kira genderbend by the same artist. Spoiler to be safe since it is kinda NSFW.
I'm re-reading the biggining of part 4 and im afraid about the anime adaptations of arcs like Echoes and Surface (which have five chapters). They have a lot more dialogue than I remember.
Maybe you'll like these more.
Here she is with a picture of Jotaro by Clamp.
Well I tried. Here's another but no genderbend.
Would've been cool if he accidentally touched Joseph though.
>Joseph reverts to when he was younger
>He somehow bumps into Avdol
>The two get intertwined into dealing with Mariah
>During the story a pair of clackers ends up in the pile because magnetism
>Joseph somehow manages to hit Mariah with it
>plot turns back over to Jotaro punching the shit out of Alessi
>Joseph turns back to normal
I'd honestly prefer something else. Joseph's clackers were more of a gimmick. I'd love to see a young joseph beat Mariah with schemes and his powerful ability to predict what a person is about to say, say it to their face, and still leave the stupefied enough that they still continue to say the thing they were going to say.
>We will live to hear Echoes act 3 gangsta it up
>In glorious nippon engrish
The only thing that could be better would be if part V was announced. Then we could finally hear LET'S KILL DA HO, BEETCH
there's no way they won't use english for Act 3, right? right?
