Non-cam versions of the latest PVs are out
>tfw the pacing is going to be slow as fuck again
>tfw its going to take two episodes to get past Anjelo and three episodes to get past Nijimura
I really hope David learned their lesson from last time but it looks like theyre going to milk it for all its worth.
Looks wonderful, david production maybe is cheap, but they have a great love for jojo,
I blame the new director, whoever it is. Part 3 anime had its moments but overall was just way worse than the manga because of animation issues + pacing and directing issues. (Meanwhile, Part 1 and 2 were better than the source material imo.) I expect to be entertained by the new anime but I doubt it will live up to the wonderful manga. Araki is really good at expressive art and tense pacing, he could easily be making thriller manga instead of JoJo.
this better be bullshit and not a spoiler, I was waiting for the scanlation
It's not unlike Araki to do drastic character redesigns tho. Early Part 8 Kira looked way different than he does now.
yo guys what the fuck is up with chapter 698 of stone ocean? the pacing just literally went and fucking committed suicide. Hermes, Emporio, and Jolyne decide to break out and suddenly next chapter they have and so have weather report and anasui? and now it's a new stand fight from fucking nowhere? what happened to stone ocean's pretty slow but consistent pacing?
Why is it that adapting 3-4 chapters in Jojo feels so slow compared to 3-4 chapters in some other manga? Is it just because of the 80s-90s shonen pacing as a whole? I don't remember Yu Yu Hakusho feeling as slow despite adapting the same amount of content per episode. Meanwhile going through the first half of the SC anime is an enormous chore.
SC feels slow beacuse it is slow. There is not plot moving foward, they just get closer to DIO, that's it, Polnareff sub plot was the only thing driving the manga imo.
When you read you can go faster in some parts but when it's animated you have to follow the passing of the story, so something you read very fast ends up feeling longer when you have to wach it.
>When you read you can go faster in some parts but when it's animated you have to follow the passing of the story, so something you read very fast ends up feeling longer when you have to wach it.
IMO my perfect pacing for the first few episodes would be
>1. Up to Grandpa's death
>2. Up to the reveal of The Hand
>3. Up to the reveal of Koichi's Egg
>4. Up to Keicho's death
>5. All of The Lock
>6. All of Surface
>12. Baby + Rohan up to Koichi losing weight
>13. Rest of Rohan
>18. Kira intro/Harvest death
They're probably going to stretch all that to 24 though and then I'm going to be disappointed
I really didn't mind the pacing all that much, and even if you did you can hardly blame them.
You can't really boil down 6 chapters worth of fighting into one episode without it getting rushed as fuck, but it's also a bit little for two episodes, resulting in a bit of slow pacing here and there. But SC in itself is also slow, and somewhat tedious with nothing but stand fights to drive the plot forward, so I won't fault David for that.
There's also the problem of Jojo being a really famous manga with a rabid fanbase, fans will complain if they're favorite pose or iconic dialogue doesn't happen, so they have to almost adapt every fucking panel 1:1
>(Meanwhile, Part 1 and 2 were better than the source material imo.)
I think that the way those parts were set up was a big part of it. They're really short and the plot is constantly moving, since there are fewer filler enemies.
David also used had some brilliant uses of colour, like when Jonathan tossed the torch in the catacombs and the colours switched to cooler pastel shades instead of the warm earthy tones without actually changing the brightness of the image much. The first two parts are chock full of dazzling shit like that: take the famous Mark's death pose for example. They really made the parts more interesting to watch.
Stardust Crusaders usually played it much safer with that stuff, mostly reserving it for the climaxes of fights where they switched the colour palettes. The only uses of colour that really wowed me off the top of my head would be The World's brown note activation effect, or when D'arby nearly had a stroke on the poker table and his face became shaded with radically different colours.
People completely flipping shit that a tower or something wasn't in one of the shots when DIO is standing on a rooftop in one of the last episodes was one of the most ridiculous things I've seen in these threads.
If anything theyre going to go even slower than that and cut it off somewhere around Cinderella

Maybe theyll extend Ratt/Reimi and shorten Lock/Surface because the less time spent on that the better but this should be an accurate prediction
>JoJo Battles are like other battles in manga
The battles in JJBA end pretty fast, there is not much of choreography but rather fast attacks based more on strategy than in pure strenght (even is the strategy is an bullshit asspull).
And that actually ressembles more how an actual fight works than what we see in most of shonen fights. I actually can't enjoy a battle based in unrealistic choreographies and huge powers blast anymore.
They're probably going to want to extend the Duwang reveal because the scene where all the cast are gathered would probably be a good cliffhanger, so it would probably be like this
>1 Beginning turtle scene
>3 Bad Company 1
>4 Bad Company 2
>5 Bad Company 3

the art style in this is still weirdly apart from the source material, it looks pretty bad desu.
The actual fights in jjba are very fast, the characters spend more of the time talking or trying to figure out what exactly is going against them, that make the confrontation last longer than what it would be if they just fight.
The initial character designs looked like pokemon but it looks fine to me now. It does look lower budget than SC but that was to be expected.
This is exactly it. I don't think it's as much the different director as much as it is that Part 1 and 2 are just paced differently. In part 3 onwards you have Setup -> Battle -> Setup -> Battle. Part 1 and 2 have more of an ongoing plot and even many chapters that don't involve fighting.
Remember when Kakyoin also had a manga/drawing power?
Or when Stands were advanced Hamon?
Dio has Purple Hermit.
Josuke was supposed to go back in time to save his own life but the plotline was dropped.
Fugo was supposed to be a mole.
Pucci's stand power inexplicably changes after his first appearance.
Annasui is clearly a woman in his first appearance but a man from then on.
Did I miss anything?
>Josuke was supposed to go back in time to save his own life but the plotline was dropped.
He really wasn't. That was just a random delinquent he decided to copy.
When you can fly, an Indiana Jones whip is pretty useless.
I like that they updated Josuke's SNES to a N64 to accommodate the time period
I would take any DiU arc over SC arcs like Dark Blue Moon, Empress, Wheel of Fortune, etc... to be honest.
But yeah, they are going to kill it with the pacing. Again.
Or when the guy who killed polnareff's sister didn't get wet in rain, or when Pulpo ate his fingers and somehow immediately regenerated them?
Araki is actually a profoundly shitty writer, but he is insanely clever when it comes to fight scenes
I prefer this style so far over the lines lines lines in the part 3 anime. It was ok when it looked like they could spend the appropriate amount of time on it, but when it starts to look even a little rushed or QUALITY it's awful.
I would say it's very unfair to call him a shitty writer, if you've read JoJo then you know he's done some good shit in terms of writing. It's just that his actual plotting is all over the place, he changes his mind constantly or just forgets important details. There's a lot worse shounen manga/anime out there to call on their shit writing.
Also the best and most competent jojo protagonist.
>implying that it doesn't have the best antagonist with the most tragic backstory ever written.
You know what, you're right. I shouldn't dis him when I myself can't get enough motivation to write 5 pages in under a month and change my mind so often you'd think I have a closet full of stlish brains from Einstein's Secret
The only good Jojos are Joseph and Gappy... And Dio I guess if you count him as a Jojo
I'm not implying anything, I'm directly stating that Pucci is not even close to being the best antagonist. The retcon DIO stuff is garbage and heaven is the stupidest villain goal in any of the parts.
Ok /a/. Post your dream fight between non major villains.
Mine is Ringo vs Wham
It has the best JoJo
She does what she could with a shit stand. Jotaro has the so-called "strongest stand" in the whole of JoJo yet still jobs to Pucci twice.
Let me guess, you are a Funny fag aren't you anon?
Pucci's goals seemed stupid at first to me too, but after his backstory was revealed I loved what he was trying to accomplish. He wanted to create a world where no one would have to go through what he did. He was doing it for humanity, and emporio fucked everything up.
>Pucci had complete plot armour for the entirety of the story
>Like 70 different goddamn powers despite Stands supposedly only having 1
>Doesn't have a very strong stand herself in comparison
>Jotaro decided to let himself get killed protecting Jolyne instead of killing Pucci and saving the world
>haha jolyne is so dumb and terrible everything was her fault lmao!!!
She did all she could and she got damn far with it.
>she got damn far with it
She's worthless in the Pucci fight. Would have been killed instantly if not for her comrades sacrificing themselves. All she manages to do is pass the reigns to a fucking child, who luckily turns out to be far more competent than her dumb ass and gets the job done.
You can only have this one. The rest are mine. Get cucked.
Fuck you, anon. Don't you "haha" me.
Reminder that Emporio is an asspull faggot that only won so SO's ending wasn't as bleak. I hope Irene and everyone else got fed up with his cry baby bullshit and dropped him off on the side of the road.
He couldn't speed up time because it'd make... whatever Weather Report was fucking doing (increasing the oxygen or some shit) happen faster.
Emporio was adopted by Irene and Anakiss and had a wonderful life. This is what happened and you can't tell me otherwise.
They had no chance of winning, even if jolyne didn't show up. Gay Priest went pure savage.
So Mountain Tim's stand is basically Stone Free?
No. WR would have killed him for sure. He was completely fucked.
Duke Devlin vs Johngalli A
A ranged battle between the blind.
No, he can only have one rope unlike Jolyne's numerous ones. To compensate, he can move parts of his body along it, so for example he could throw the rope over a ravine and then move a body part at a time to cross it.
I'd like to report that pic related is sweeping /pol/ for some reason tonight
I expect the value of this meme to rise considerably over the next week. Please buy accordingly.
So if Damo does kill Norisuke, who's going to take the disease from Tsurugi? Norisuke said he'd do it so neither Joubin or Mitsuba would have to, so if Damo caps him then I'm expecting Mitsuba to do it, which will lead Joubin to blame Josuke for it since Damo would never have entered the house if he and Norisuke didn't kill Yotsuyu.
Also general JJL theories.
>The problem wasn't pic related
>Literally delaying because "let's relax a bit before killing the enemy"
Yall know that if Jotaro had a son instead of a shitty girl he'd naturally develop a stand more powerful than Star Platinum. He'd have caught White Snake when he tried to nab Jotaro's discs and problem solved.
It's canon that women are inferior stand users in general. There's less of them and very few of them are strong.
I'm already in love with Josuke's comeback theme
I never got how Buccellati
died. Like did his injuries caught up with him?
Will this be the last Jojo anime from David Productions?
If they're this far in they won't drop it nor will they be dropped. VA is super popular in Japan so they will at the very least do Vento Aureo. I could see a new studio doing SBR onwards due to it being a reboot.
Anime of Part 1 and Part 2 cut out some things such as Jonathan's duel with Wang Chung before they go to Windknight's Lot.
The entire training of Joseph got cut into few seconds of slideshow in the anime.
I was half joking, but seriously now.
In my opinion you should read part 1 and 2, skip 3 since you watched the anime already and it's very faithful, and then start from part 4 onwards.
I would start from the beginning of the manga so you don't miss out on the evolution of Araki's god-tier artwork. Especially the DIO fight at the end of Part 3, it's gorgeous.
But if you must, continue on to Part 4 and try to read it before the anime airs. Or just watch the anime then read Part 5, and then be turned off of the JoJo manga forever because your first impression of it was a horrible translation.
Someone uploaded an Ainsley template a few days ago so I just did this out of boredom
POST YFW HIGHWAY STAR WILL BE ANIMATED
How do you guys feel about Gappy? I personally love him.
I want to protect the token Morioh milf.
and go rerorero on her vagina
He's pretty great. Needs to spend more time with his girl though.
It looks like a fucking slideshow right from the start and the artstyle is gay as fuck, and everything has retarded colors all the time now apparently, like a fucking kids cartoon
Are you retarded? Pucci wasn't going to get rid of anything, he was just going to make it so that everyone would know when and how they'd get fucked
Rapes don't stop, the rape victims just know when it's gonna happen
Accidents still go down, the victims just know beforehand
In JoJo where [fate] is almost absolute unless you have the devil's luck, it would be hell
I'm rereading it now and he's the perfect mix of moe, sass, fun, asshole and seriousness. I've also only just now picked up that his "I Won... FULLY' line is actually something he does a lot. He uses fully that way when he speaks in the same way Giorno talks about resolve or Jotaro says yare yare daze. It's his little quirk.
You know that if Kakyoin survived and went to Morioh with Jotaro that Josuke would have a new dad before they even met Akira.
One guy is just typing the word 'fuck' as many times as he can per sentence and just aggressively spouting subjective critique while claiming other people's subjective opinion is wrong.
The other is denying a bad translation because we haven't read it in jap, but you don't need to read the original to see flawed sentence structures or random words. Especially when new translations are coming out to further prove that by actually making sense.
>you don't need to read the original
Stopped reading. If you haven't read the source then anything you say about a translation is baseless. The grammar being bad is another thing entirely. It's just as bad or worse in dwuang.
I'm saying "PART 5 TRANSLATION IS HORRIBLE LMAO" is a parrot meme and nothing more. Obviously it's not a top notch effort, but it's plenty good enough to understand what's going on.
It is absolutely enough to understand. It isn't horrible, just bad. Take Giorno and Mista repeatedly spouting about their 'Concious' during the Ghiaccio. That's just poor translation as we know they should be spouting about their Resolve.
It's like reading the plot synopsis of Sparknotes but it's hilariously inaccurate and there were points where they actually just made shit up. I'm not the anon that started this but 'horrible' wasn't the best choice of words. They were pretty bad, but they got the gist of what was going on across. Unfortunately there's a lot more subtly we missed out on not to mention the made up stuff and how every character feels bland and samey. It's not horrible but it's far from 'good, 'serviceable' is about the highest praise you could give it.
I'd say "serviceable" is a fair assessment, but it's better than dwuang which completely gets a pass because it's so bad it's funny. If Araki wasn't a good artist part 4 would make no sense with the dwuang "translation". It does everything you mention and more.
>Madhouse didn't get it from the start
Death Note, HxH and OPM all have that continuous beat type of soundtrack that doesn't make the most of the situation, save rare exceptions, namely the opening theme which has to be memorable.
And Jojo, for me at least, is like 50% the music and 50% everything else. Maybe because I really got into it when I read the manga and listened to every band that was referenced in it. It's like Araki wanted to add a soundtrack with the references.
For example, in Phantom Blood there's Tarkus, and the track which accompanies his fight is reminiscent of the album Tarkus by Emerson Lake and Palmer. That really helped set the mood and make things more interesting.
I doubt Madhouse could do that, they've always disappointed me on that level.
Jolyne is one of the best Jojos, she went through a lot of shit
Now that I think about it... What are the odds that someone will make a remix of the SC and DiU beatdown themes? They both have a similar beat and a mashup or something would sound top tier.
The designs aren't the only issue. Madhouse, at least in the past 6 years, has been known for modifying and rushing parts of a story as they see fit just to speed up important exposition they deem boring and overglorify the "epic" scenes. That habit is one of the worst fucking things you can do when the point of adapting JoJo is faithfulness to the source material. Anime like OPM and Hunter x Hunter were severely rushed at key moments in the series just so they can get to the good bits, and Kiseiju was straight up neutered in the spirit of modernization.
And that's not even to mention their disgusting reliance on speedlines and dragging character models in place of true inbetweens. I will say that their animation is some of the best in the industry right now, but that's not saying much when we're discussing an indsutry plagued by reliance on CGI and outsourcing to Asia.
tl;dr Fuck Madhouse, I'm glad David is doing it.
I pretty much meant only in the animation, it should go without saying that Madhouse aren't allowed to touch anything else. Unfortunately animation by Madhouse and everything else by someone competent is a pipedream and will never happen.
Also only weebs buy BDs these days anyway and SDC still did well overall. I'm not sure where this idea that it flopped came from. Is this some /v/ mentality where not being number one = failure?
Since part 4 is about the nipnogs i hope they'll spark up some interest again.
Am i the only one that thinks the new design is not that bad?
In part 3, everyone had heads 1/20th the size of their bodies.
You might say part 4 is gonna be a little more cartoony, but part 3 was already very toon in proportions.
Probably. I'm glad I don't post on /v/ anymore, my depression and general lack of motivation has actually improved dramatically. It honestly is the worst board, worse than fucking /b/ since you know everything they're is just bullshit for bullshit's sake unlike /v/.
I like them. That design makes his head way too fucking big and in SC it's way too fucking small. From the PVs they've fixed that quite a bit. I feel like a middle ground between the two styles would be perfect and that the current style would fit Vento Aureo more, but it is what it is.
>gets to SHA with Jotaro doing his one liners
>DiU beatdown theme subtly transforms into the SDC theme
>Davidfags still believing that the SC anime wasn't a blunder of the century
The only good thing David did right was to motivate me to pick up the manga cause their adaptation was so shit
At least PB and BT were tolerable but they totally fucked up SC
Man, I really do love that sequence. It highlights how different from the previous villains Kira's abilities are
Killer Queen is a passable punchghost but ultimately he still gets fucking punked by the top tier ones from the previous part. Gotta rely on the explosions and wit or else it's over, most anyone can outpunch Kira
The reveal has a bit of that too. It's initially summoned and has that swole pose that looks like another punch ghost, then it pulls out the bomb ability on Harvest and shit gets serious.
Yea that was one of the better things about Part 4. Every other part, the protagonists are outgunned by the villain's amazing Stand. In Part 4, Kira is both outnumbered and extremely outgunned by the heroes, he can't beat a single one of them in a 1 on 1 fair fight, so he relies on his wits to survive. Kira is wily and hard to pin down, he likes to keep his distance in fights and would rather never get caught to begin with. But if pinned down, Crazy Diamond absolutely destroys Killer Queen. Shit, so does Star Platinum, Echoes Act 3 and probably The Hand + Heaven's Door. Fatty probably would have never lost either if he knew about KQ's bomb ability.
Also, Kira's a huge bitch
If he fought alongside Sheer Heart Attack, he could do some serious damage. Hell, an automated Sheer Heart Attack almost got Jotaro and Koichi. If Kira ever decided to fight using it as support he could be a formidable opponent. One on one it would have [no weaknesses] unless you're Okuyasu. Then you can just erase Sheer Heart attack, but then you'll get outwitted by Kira anyway. We've seen how Koichi dealt with both Kira and SHA. Jotaro would need to time stop spam to win.
But in the end Kira just will NOT go for the direct confrontation, and that's just how the cookie crumbles. Although the one time he DID try to do it by himself, he got ORA'd, so there. If only he had just released SHA again.
It depends. Most strong punchghosts could just punt SHA the fuck out of there and make it 1 on 1 again. Especially Jotaro with timestop.
And yea, Kira is such a little pussy that he was probably better off not being present.
He sent out SHA to take out the tailor, which was trivial and not something he expected to turn into an actual fight. He never used it again though so I don't know what's up with that. It should have returned to him when his hand did.
most strong punchghost like Star Platinum? Yeah, that worked well.
Can you even imagine how fucking balls to the wall the final fight would have been if Kira had been using both Stray Cat and Sheer Heart Attack as support?
Josuke would need to pull some Joseph level shit to win
I just really wanna see Yukako go full yandere.
>Echoes Act 3
Got BTFO once Kira got there
Destroys SHA but I'm not sure it'd work against Killer Queen since Okayusu is a retard
OP as fuck
Kira got a big power-up with the cat to be fair
Dude, I own volume 47 which is the last part of Part 4. He is alive and well in there.
That might have been how it went down, but couldn't you say that everybody dies with that universe ending?
No because if you're referring to MiH, it doesn't affect any living beings (even small ants, as it shows on one of the pages), it just speeds up the world around them. If you weren't already dead by the universe reset you would be carried along to the new universe.
Looks like we found the color palette
I think it said that he couldn't use other abilities when SHA was active. Like BTD, it's a type of bomb and he can only have 1 bomb active at a time, so having HA active means KQ can't do anything else but be a subpar punchghost at that point in time. I don't remember exactly though.
I think the combination of colorful and crazy SoL + remarkable seiyuus (there's only Kamiya missing, almost) will do fine.
If Kira was anywhere near Jotaro, Jotaro would just THE WORLD his ass. Kira wouldn't even know what was happening. That's why Kira was so fucking deathly paranoid about Jotaro (especially after having his shit punched in by a mostly dead, bleeding out Jotaro), he knew if he got cornered by him again he would be FUCKED.
The Stardust Crusaders anime is objectively better than the OVA
SBR is a mid tier part and Johnny sucks
VA is top 3
SO is the worst part and Pucci is the worst villain
The DiU voice cast for the anime is more fitting than the ASB cast except for Josuke
King Crimson is only hard to understand if you are legitimately retarded
DIO's World is the peak of the franchise
Johnny's great, he seems like a cunt at first and you don't feel that bad for him but he grows over the course of the journey and has an actual character arc. He may not become a good man or even a good person, but it's about how he grows and it accomplishes that incredibly well. That said SBR has a pretty varying level of quality, it can be the most boring shit in some parts and excellent in the next. It's not my favourite but it's pretty good. DIO's World is pretty good and I agree on King Crimson though, stop relying on the shit scans or the wiki, they're both wrong and he's not too difficult once you realise that he fucks with fate and not just time.
>Stardust Crusaders PVs
>Diamond is Unbreakable PVs
Which was more hype?
So, I'll admit I haven't actually consumed Jojo media past the part in the manga where they're in restaurant and the young asshole one meets his grandpa. But I couldn't stop hearing about how crazy the powers are, so I looked them up. And as I understand it, the strongest Stands are in this order.
1. Gold Experience Reqiuem
2. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
3. Made in Heaven
4. King Crimson
5. The World
Is that about right? I do actively read Raildex so I'm no stronger to god powers. But how exactly does the story persist after the introduction of GER?
>Just read it
I know, I know. I'm just looking for a quick understanding of how people with powers like this can possibly be defeated. It seems like Kazuma's way of writing Touma to use his allies and kind of out-think an enemy many magnitudes stronger than him wouldn't apply here.
>They got rid of face lines
Feels odd at first.
GER is "i win" - the stand
Tusk negates D4C and The World
Made In Heaven gets asspulled
King Crimson gets GER'd
The World and Star Plat are practically the same
GER shows up at the end of the story, Giorno wins, the end.
But you need to look at the user's capacity to use their abilities as well. Geb could be considered one of the most powerful non-reality-altering stands, and Mandom, used properly, could rek everyone. Think of this:
Say KC and Mandom meet. Ringo shoots Diavolo, and Diavolo collapses that 10 seconds. Ringo jumps back 6 seconds.
Would Ringo pop into the collapsed time with Diavolo or would he go to before the collapse happened, because the time between doesn't exist anymore?
Would speeding up time count as a 'misfortune' for Valentine? It's just making fate happen quicker so Love Train likely wouldn't change it's effect, though it would protect him from actual attacks. So it's be a stalemate, Pucci can't hit Valentine because dimensional fuckeroni and Valentine can't hit Pucci because gotta go fast.
I'd vote Diavolo on that since Epitaph would show their positions changing because of the time reversal so he'd just delete the period that occurs in, and if it's deleted it's gone, only the results matter and any kind of time stop or reverse is irrelevant since that time no longer exists. If he didn't have Epitaph then he'd have to manually guess when Ringo would shoot or use Mandom and at that point it's fair game and down to reaction speed and argument is futile.
As much as I love nintendo, I gotta say PS1. I'd argue that the N64 had the weakest line up of the nintendo consoles, it's only saving graces being mario 64, smash, and majora's mask.
But would Epitaph even be able to see the jump back in time? For all we know, he could just see Ringo hit his watch, while the rest plays out normally, he might not detect a jump back in time. The real argument comes down to who makes the best use of their stands and how araki decides reality-altering bullshit works at that particular time.
>tfw its going to take two episodes to get past Anjelo and three episodes to get past Nijimura
three episodes for Nijimura bros sounds about right though
>ep one ends with finding the house and koichi getting shot
>ep 2 has Josuke vs The Hand, ends inside the house
>ep 3 Bad Co
I still feel like Epitaph gives Diavolo the edge, if they were standing still for six seconds then he wouldn't tell but if he saw his and Ringo's positions just move back to where they were all of a sudden, he'd be suspicious. Knowing about Diavolo and suspicion, he'd erase time first and foremost to avoid whatever Ringo did, and it doesn't matter in the end since he could begin the erase before Ringo even does the time reverse because Diavolo knew that their positions would change 10 seconds prior.
On paper Diavolo would destroy him, but knowing Araki it could go either way.
I'm saying Diavolo might not be able to see a move backwards in time with Epitaph, he might see events as if there were no jump. He doesn't see his timeskip whith epitaph, so why would he see a time reversal?
He might not be able to detect the jump back, but he could know about the power itself from intel
then let Epitaph keep an eye to Ringo hitting his watch, erase the time he hits his watch and negate the rewind
I love the color palette but holy fuck the terrible noses and shiny faces are pissing me off. Why can't they use the previous character design style and just remove the tire shoulders? Jotaro's face in part 3 for example was perfect.
He sees what's fated to happen, and KC lets him circumvent that fate by deleting that time. He can't see his deletes because they aren't fated until he does them. If Ringo is fated to reverse time, it should show up because their positions will change (remember that Epitaph only shows position without context) if it's fated, he'll see the rewind because everyone's positions change in an instant. That said if they somehow stated completely still for 6 seconds or Ringo tricked him into standing in the same position they were in 6 seconds prior, it wouldn't show up on Epitaph since no one's positions would change at that point and he could get some shots in at Diavolo as he is confused about what happened and why he couldn't detect something happening. Basically Epitaph is a projection of where everyone is fated to be positioned provided he DOESN't delete that time, so his deletes don't show in his predictions since it's basically telling him 'this is what will happen if you don't use KC within the next 10 seconds'.
Diamond is Unbreakable is longer than Stardust Crusaders, but not so much longer that there's a need to increase the number of episodes. I think they'll take more care with pacing because of this.
Well why would he see his own erasing, Epitaph sees the next 10s and diavolo can choose to act or not based on the prediction
If he doesn't act, the prediction plays as he saw, if he does, it gets changed and he needs to re use epitaph to know the "new" next 10s
It doesn't really prove Epitaph cant see time manipulating powers, it just shows that his powers do change the short future he predicted
I wish Jojo was only about videogame races, lottery cheatings or beetle battles, so we could live without retarded discussions about hypothetical stand fights.
Or at least that KC didn't exist.
Finding the house, Koichi getting shot, and Josuke vs Okuyasu all took place within two chapters. Every Stardust Crusaders episode was 4 to 5 chapters. I think they can fit the whole fight into there.
It'll be better once the good translation or anime comes out so the slower fans will finally know what it does. You'll still have to deal with people doing hypothetical battles with it but hopefully the memes die down.
>did not develop a stand naturally
Okay what the hell is this double standards bullshit? You realize that neither did Joseph, Jotaro or Josuke, right? That was literally the WHOLE POINT of SDC for god's sake! In fact the only Jojos that did develop Stands "naturally" were Giorno (probably) and fucking Gappy.
working my way through BT but I have ONE question, do the Joestars go back to being honorable gentlemen (like Jonathan) or keep acting like arses (like Joseph)
Jotaro - Asshole
Josuke - Egocentric jackass with a berserker button
Giorno - Maximum over dick
Jolyne - MAXIMUM CUNT with added daddy issues
Johnny - Literally shit
Gappy - Manipulative, domineering asshole
Sorry, give up now.
Jotaro is edgy but deep down a massive pussy, Josuke is more like Joseph but he's actually interested in other's welfare though he doesn't show it, Giorno wants to be a fucking mob boss to reform the gang so they stop doing shit like selling cocaine to kids (personality wise he's a mix of DIO and Jonathan on account of being conceived by DIO using Jonathan's body), Jolyne is a whiny girl who wisens up and deals with her daddy issues, Johnny is an asshole but he has brilliant character development, and Gappy is a mix of good hearted, sassy, asshole and moe.
They're all wildly different, though Jonathan is the only truly righteous one and his influence is what makes all of them through to Jolyne (7 and 8 are a reboot) the people they are. Chances are if you don't like Joseph you'll enjoy another one later far more.
Sadly, no. I blame it on Stands giving everyone overblown sense of importance.
As I said, it's entirely dependent on how bullshit powers are interpreted, which is why is almost impossible to accurately make a "best stand" list. GER and Hey Ya are about the only ones you can objectively call best due to their "You lose" and "I win" powers.
I like to think he became a cop when he grew up. Honour his grandfather, protect Morioh and all that. When criminals talk shit about his hair he beats them within an inch of their life and then heals them and they never commit a crime again. Now I want a series about Josuke, Okuyasu and Koichi as middle age cops involved in Stand shenanigans.
I'm not bugged by them too much. They look pretty similar to the manga. The noses in DiU are pretty flat.
It's not her fault her dad happened to be the protagonist of a previous arc and super popular so Araki gave him lots of pagetime. If the other protag's dads had showed up as much, it'd be just as bad, hell Josuke and Johnny were already almost on her level as it is.
Also don't act like Jotaro didn't deserve her reactions to him, he was a shit father no matter what his reasons were. He could have handled everything better if he weren't such a sperg.
are you dumb son
They all developed their stands naturally. Sure it took DIO's return to awaken them, but they were there. Jolyne had to go get a babby's artifical stand with the arrow. Literally all arrow stands are shit.
> it took DIO's return to awaken them
Go back and re-fucking-read SDC, it wasn't just Dio that did it you moron. He got a Stand because Enya gave him the fucking arrow, and that made the rest of the Joestars get Stands too, because he was using Jonathan's body. This is spelled out EXPLICITLY in the text.
I didn't imply he wasn't a shit father, sorry for the confusion. There's two sides to the story and both are important. Since 6 said that he actually read the diary and learnt about Heaven before leaving Egypt he should probably have known that starting a family would be a risk and totally unfair on his wife and kid(s) but he did it anyway. It's mostly his fault but I was just trying to point out that Jolyne was pretty upset over it all. That's understandable but as a character she's quite immature and whiny at the beginning which makes sense given the context since she doesn't know shit about Joestars or DIO or Stands since Jotaro selfishly brought her into the world and pretended that it would all go away.
At the beginning of SDC, it was shown that every joestar got a stand for better or for worse because DIO used the arrow on Jonathan's body
Every one else in SDC got stands because they were affiliated with dio and got their stands though being his minion at some point
>Whether he'd make it through medical school is another matter entirely.
Yes because restoring a person around your disposable rubber gloves after delicate surgery is a great way to get yourself a promotion, isn't it.
It never fucking said that. It's just that DIO awoke. That's the only reason given. The stand arrow was never mentioned in the manga before Diamond is Unbreakable.
Was Shigechi the proto-Fugo as far as OP Stands go? Obviously, Harvest is no Purple Haze, but compared to most Part 4 stands, it's really, really good. He says in the "fight" with Kira that he could ez beat Josuke if he tried, and I'm inclined to believe him.
The main reason is that, as we see in Yoshikage Kira's Quiet Life, they're all remotely controlled, despite being really powerful in close quarters. This means that Shigechi is practically invincible against most Punch Ghost stands- he could probably make Harvest armor, while having them sting and slowly kill his opponent.
It feels like he was similar to Fugo in that Araki wrote his abilities, went "wait, shit", and then tried to write him out. Of course, it works, since he's a fucking idiot and it makes sense for him to fall for Kira's tricks, but still.
It's stated that Arrows awaken Stands in the bloodline of their descendants as well. Jolyne didn't get a Stand from DIO since she wasn't born yet, even Giorno was alive at this point. If Stands were inherited there would be a lot more of them. Instead the potential is passed along, and Jolyne needed the Arrow or some other catalyst to activate it. It's highly likely if she'd known about and done some training it wouldn't take long to unlock it whereas those without the potential like Tonio have to train for decades to master a skill just to unlock a weak as fuck Stand that only helps with that skill. The only born Stand user JoJo is Gappy (sort of), and that's an entirely different fucking continuity. The others got their Stands secondhand from an Arrow while Jolyne got one firsthand.
I feel like that might be part of it, but he died not long after he was introduced and Araki felt like introducing an OP Stand user none of them could beat just to have the main antagonist completely destroy them without effort to make him seem super powerful. Then we find out he just got lucky by catching Shigechi off guard and he can't actually fight for shit so he has to rely on cunning instead. Whether Araki planned for Shigechi to be the one Kira killed in his debut from the beginning I don't know though.
They've shown other angles of him where his eyes aren't so fucking high up and he literally looks 1/1 like the manga version, more so than any of the others. I don't know how the one in that poster got through fucking QC it's so bad but he actually looks pretty good.
He'd shoot nails I guess? I don't know if it would ever reach higher Acts without the same experiences Johnny had or the same adversity to overcome, so it'd probably just remain at Act 1 and no nothing but shoot nails.
There's no way to tell objectively, it's fiction. You could make a case that it only works by Spinning nails or that Stands could use different power sources. There isn't much to discuss unless you wanna make stuff up which is fine, I just assumed we were talking objectively.
>very high level of control
>does not transfer damage to user
Yep Harvest was some top shit. This nigga could possibly even beat King Crimson. Limited range and too many opponents is its general weakness. Combine that with their size he could sneak them up on King Crimson. Bait the time skip and survive and keep Harvests secretly in range for over ten seconds and he's checkmated. He's already shown them lil fucks can sneak up yo leg without you noticing.
Let's say Formaggio and his Little Feet was engaged in a beetle battle with Misterioso and his Enigma. Whose beetle would win?
Both Stands could potentially smuggle in some objects and use them as traps or something.
He's not named Misterioso, though, that's the shitty name the ASB localization gave to his stand.
I would guess the main drawback of harvest is the sheer amount of individually remote controlled "mini stands"
We could borrow from real life and use the explanation why more evolved forms of life don't have multiple limbs beyond 4, because the more limbs you have to control, the more of your nervous system needs to be devoted in controlling all limbs, and for social animals like Humans, we need more into being able to socialize than to control our limbs, so keeping it into a minimum of 2 motor ones and 2 handling ones
In a similar fashion, to extract all power from harvest, the user would need to be much more intellectually able so that he could do all the fancy shit Kira was talking about
But similarly to Okuyasu, fatty is dumb, and not smart enough to realize what power he has on his hands an not even smart enough to be able to fully use it
Balance some times in JoJo comes in the form of stupidity
He sure seems to be struggling with yoga
Will david productions get to sbr? Can they even do the art justice?
I read the french translation and then the english one, and I can affirm that the english one is really bad
Most of the character development is skipped or made up and the sentences don't make any sense.
You don't have to read the original to understand that, just read a good official translation in another language (the italian one is good too) and you'll see how bad it is.
Shitty meme anon here again. Made this. Too lazy to go on the webpage, so I just screenshotted the app. Rate out of 10
It's really hard to put my finger on it but he's amazing, and jesus christ he's absolutely fucking brutal in his fights. Reading his fight with Yagiyama the first time, I was so surprised how THOROUGHLY Gappy went to fuck him over.
