Yup anime is dead and so is Stalker. A-1 wins again by literally having a winter show triple it's stalker estimate out of their ass. Stalker is worthless for their shit and nobody else can compete anymore
>>
>>138946020

I've never seen this happen before. It ranked below Haikyuu Vol 3 all week on Oricon and that shows second volume only sold about 6,800 BD's or so in it's first week so unless Haikyuu's 3rd volume sold substantially more something's fucked here.
>>
>inb4 someone accuses aniplex of inflating disc sales
>>
>>138946077

Saekano went from selling 6K in its first week to 13K the last time it ranked. Sometimes A1 just pulls a sales miracle out of its ass.
>>
>>138946112

Try like every season even when it's Toho publishing. For the record for the stalker estimates were something like 2,500 BD, 800 DVD. Question is what does this mean for KonoSuba, does it outstrip it's estimate or does A-1 just pull another seasonal topper out of it's ass at the eleventh hour?
>>
>>138946171

Konosuba is probably underestimated. I'm guessing it'll sell 10K, maybe a little more.
>>
>>138946020
Stalker only tracks amazon plus other stores most likely had better bonuses.
>>
>>138946020
Well that's odd. Was there any significant storefront effect? Animate?
>>
Stalker estimate:

3104 BD
985 DVD

Stalker is useless now.
>>
>>138946209
konosube is overestimated, is going to sell less than grimgar. So much for the DEEN not being shit meme.
>>
>>138946020
>>138946077
>>138946171
Pretty sure this is fake because Oricon weekly ranking always release at Tuesday 5:00pm(Japan time), so 8 minute to go.

I'm feeling OP is Grimgar hater because Grimgar no way getting this numbers, and when the actual numbers are out, it can lead people laugh to Grimgar even it's doing okay.
>>
So is there going to be a drop for Vol 2 without the OVA episode or is it going to remain curiously consistent like all A-1 shows. I still remember that one Aldnoah Vol 2 thing where it's BD went down substantially but DVD increased to make up nearly exactly the difference. Shits always fucked with there shows and they always do way better than the estimate. Either they really are padding there sales or they have some storefront bonuses that other releases just lack.
>>
Didn't Vol.1 have that episode 2.5 shit for the fanservice?
>>
>>138946314

Admittedly I got it from Yaraon but I'm just so used to A-1 shows vastly outselling their estimate I'll believe it for now.
>>
I just want a1 pictures to stop ruining anime.
>>
>>138946354

I do to but the people keep speaking and even the Western community loves them nowadays.
>>
>>138946326
>>138946340
Checking stalker estimate pt volume 2 likely won't have any big drop.
>>
>>138946077
>I've never seen this happen before.

Lurk more

happens all the time. For example, The Gate (Season 1) was mediocre on stalker all season, and it ended up a top 3 seller when it actually went on sale. 'Monogatari as crazy as that franchise sells, is ALWAYS unrepresented on stalker preorders; as the final sales numbers always nuke the stalker projections, sometimes by far more then x3 (though monogatari tends to sell a ton on normal DVD versions for some reason, so BD is a poor projector for how much that series sells). Kyoani usually outperforms it's stalker numbers by a modest amount; probably due to the kyoani store.
>>
>>138946352
It is not A-1 fault that Erased is shit.
>>
>>138946314

It's been below Haikyuu Vol 3 all week and peaked at 6 overall coming nowhere near Haikyuu on other days and Haikyuu Vol 2 sold 6,865 for BD week one. Unless Vol 2 is way higher or somehow Grimgars rankings put it only 100 or less off it which makes no sense statistically I just don't understand.

Grimgars rankings for the week were

8
6
DNC
DNC
DNC
10

and Haikyuu was

4
5
6

5
4
>>
>people still don't realize stalker isn't the number of units sold
>>
>>138946474

I expect that to do like 4-5K now since it's estimated at about 1.5K
>>
>>138946284
3364+871
4235 first week.

DVD overestimated but that's expected for BD mainly show, BD little underestimated is actually good news for many BD mainly shows release this week(=most of them won't have huge overestimate).

I guess Grimgar will end up above 5000 since it still have one more episode to air.

Okay that's what actually exactly what I predicted and not at all far off from the stalker estimate to be an major anomaly. I knew I shouldn't have trusted Yaraon. I lose /a/, the shame is real.

OP you fucking liar, yaraon got the numbers right too.

Yaraon seems to have a lot of Grimgar fanboys posting on it. It should have been pretty obvious it was a troll though why make themselves look stupid I don't know. Konosuba is pretty much this seasons only shot at a 10K seller now. I never thought I'd say this but it's all up to Deen.
>>
>>138946556
This is actually almost the same as its stalker points. Nothing new.

Also looking at Yaraon. Only Haikyuu has 6k+.

Where the hell did you get your info OP.

Mind posting where you got your info from?

>>

They're calling it a great victory. That's what it comes down to, the struggle to reach 5K is a great victory. Last winter that would have been middle of the road. Honestly this season deserves this approaching sales trainwreck.
>>
>>138946702

I already mentioned it. I guess A-1 is mortal after all.
>>
>>138946688
More like Kadokawa employee reverse trolling.

>>138946645
>>138946690
I was afraid Grimgar overestimated, because this show is "recon" for 2016 winter shows.

Comment 11.
>>
>>138946765
I recommend stop caring Yaraon's comment, because at last week these dumbass were laughing Grimgar won't above 2600.
>>
>>138946716
They are laughing actually.

Some are saying the sales are the same as the pts, most likely Konosuba will reach 10k.

Other are laughing at PSO2 as well.
>>
>>138946781
That's totally random, because the news have nothing to do with Grimgar, feels like reverse trolling.
>>
>>138946790

>>
>>138946781

That's the equivalent of citing sales numbers from some random poster on /a/. They didn't actually write an article.

外人様がyaraonのことをご存知でしたはwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
>>
>>138946765

They weren't about 30 minutes ago. That's actually pretty fucking terrible considering the amount of extras, publicity and being adapted by a supposedly premiere studio that styles itself the best team ever assembled. If anything it looks like Japanese buyers are starting to turn on A-1 a little lately or at least not grant them overwhelming support and carte blanche to fuck up time after time.

Konosuba only goes to 8K if you add up the points. It probably won't sell 10K first week, but it could eventually get there by the second or third week.
>>
>>138946823
You must thought Grimgar is some SAO level of popular show, but in reality, it's Rokka level of popular(before anime starts).

4200 is already above Toho's expectation and make it have stock issue.
>>
>>138946823
They don't care. A-1 mostly makes anime for TV stations.

a blog post about the art director of Iron Blood Orphans quitting prior to the final episode, and you quoted some random anonymous "reply" in the comment section as being Grimgar's sale numbers?

Just checked Yararon, are you sure "they" are laughing? most of them saying "about right" or "thought it would 3000 first week", sure a few try to lead the laugh but seems getting ignored.

The estimated final pt of Grimgar vol.2:
BD 3945
DVD 776

So i don't think Grimgar vol.2 will have any big drop even vol.1 have some nice bonus, maybe even higher in first week because vol.2 release after the ending of this show(but still won't higher than vol.1's LTD, because vol.1 will have better legs.)
>>
>>138946934
>So did it sell like shit or not?
right at the line between shit and average. generally anime need to hit 3k sales per volume to make the studio break even, this one will be close to that number. we know the first volume is slightly over that number, however the first volume typically sells more then the others. so we'll have to see if it manages to keep it's per volume average over 3k.

Generally 5-8k is considered above average. Any anime that can manage that much on average per volume for the whole series may get picked up for another season.

8k+ per volume average over the whole series is usually considered a success
>>
My fuck this season is horrible in terms of sales. If it wasn't for Monogatari, which is just a fucking short, there wouldn't be any 10k hitters except maybe a long shot from Konosuba.
>>
This week's winter shows sales:

*2,609 ファンタシースターオンライン2 ジ アニメーション 1 [BD 1,510 +DVD 1,098] PSO2

>>138946823

Aniplex really was absolutely dominating in BD sales for a while at the turn of the decade peaking at over a 50% share of the market in 2011 thanks to a string of big hits like Bakemonogatari, Fate/Zero, Madoka, Guilty Crown, Ano Hana, Durarara etc all happening at the same time and which are largely why the current generation of fans are so obsessed with their key go to people and franchises now. That allowed them to work their formula for quite a while after even as the quality of their shows, especially originals declined.

In recent years they've been coasting on those 2009-2011 smash successes and names like Urobuchi, Kajiura, Sawano and Shinbo and getting arrogant much like Sony did with the PS3 and the stuff they're putting out is nowhere near as good as it was before. They're now relying on and outright milking brand/staff loyalties as well as whales too hard instead of just focusing on making good shows and really haven't had very many new things take off so much as some really high profile flops like Aldnoah.Zero, Punch Line, Charlotte and Mekaku City Actors and the Durarara x2 3 way split cour thing that were very much advertised as being the next big thing. Were it not for Fate and some Monogatari seasons they might actually have had to rethink their approach by now. Like for example they should really stop split couring so many things including with movies like Kizu now as it seems to be undermining them more than anything.

Lately it's been Bandai Visual and King Records with idol, sci-fi and tank shit that have been topping a lot of charts. Even [email protected] CG and Uta no Prince are mostly a result of Bandai and Kings version of the package and brand loyalty and those have been by far A-1's best selling shows in recent years. Really it just looks like the light novel boom is close to over and companies need to start actually making real anime again or get the fuck out of the industry.

Was it Anno that predicted the decline of the current status quo in "the system" that the anime industry subscribes to? It really does seem like save for a few smash hits like GuP, Love Live and Otsomatsu that the market is going into rapid decline, especially LN stuff. And yet they keep making more of them season after season and they keep getting worse and more similar. It feels like watching a lemming march. Like okay it's Winter but if this happens in Spring too it has to be a huge wakeup call.

That's cause the bar is insanely low this season. It's pretty much going to be the worst selling season for BD since they started tracking for it and possibly since Late Night anime became a thing.

>one-trick pony
No lol. He has 3 tricks. His strongest obviously is illustration. Mutherfucker can draw some animation.
>>
>>138947233

Hey I know, lets make more light novel adaptations, game adaptations and adaptations of weird 4Koma instead of real shows again next season.

Curious to see what happens with Phantom World now. Not so much looking forward to the shitstorm that will be /a/ this time next week. Just think, this is just the prelude to what all of those stalker threads were building up to.

>>138947521
Right now the only one that was overestimated in Stalker points is PSO2. Shit flopped hard.

According to the actual sales article on Yaraon the numbers OP posted were taken from No Game No Life's first week sales. Too lazy to confirm this right now.
