Plus a loooot of asspulls/stands not being utilized well.
>Trish only gets and uses Spice Girl because Araki couldn't think of a way to end the BIG fight
>For that matter, as far as I remember Moody Blues was only used for Soft Machine + that one final thing it does
>Purple Haze is written out because Araki accidentally made an overpowered stand and couldn't deal with it
>Gold Experience doing fucking whatever it wants
>Including the fact Requiem had to be introduced because Araki couldn't think of a way to beat King Crimson
>Green Day is just a Purple Haze clone
Bonus point for Little Feet being a lame stand.
Three new chapters of Vento Aureo are out.
As a side note, Ghiaccio's original rant here concerns a Japanese idiom that has the literal meaning of "digging up roots and leaves." That's why it gets discussed in the afterword of Purple Haze Feedback.
hey /a/, I wanna get into Jojo
I know it's usually better to read the manga instead of watching the anime, but does this also apply to Jojo?
the pastebin says skipping parts is for losers, so I'm sticking with that
I'm aware the anime only covers up to part 3 and is starting part 4 now
The anime for parts 1 and 2 is very faithful, with some saying 2's adaptation is better than the manga.
Part 3's anime can drag its feet, but it's also a very good adaptation. You could read or watch it.
You should definitely check out the manga. Try reading as much of Part 4 as possible before it comes out (assuming you've seen the prior parts, though it doesn't seem like you have), because it'll be fun to compare scenes. If you haven't covered anything before, feel free to watch the anime, as they cover each part well (Phantom Blood cuts out some of the fat but everything relevant is there) and the art is (generally) better anyway.
Also, get the fuck out before someone spoils you.
i literally can't see how they could get two (good) episodes out of either Yukako story.
Sheer Heart Attack certainly has enough material for 3 episodes.
But who knows I'd love it if they threw in a curve ball.
didn't they add white album part 1?
>leave polnareff and joseph to me
I just finished watching the first episode and reading the first couple of manga chapters
I decided to stick with the anime
thanks for the help, guys
now I'll fuck off so I don't get spoiled out of my ass
fuck wrong oingo pic
remember what to do after watching part 3
are jojo threads meta as fuck or just full of newfags?
I'd like Cinderella to be 1 episode but I reread DiU recently and it's 9 chapters long. The most chapters they've done in an episode was 5 and the least 3, and a lot more happens in that arc than I remembered. I guarantee they won't fit it in 1 episode.
It's easier and faster to do the black and white scans. Right now we just want to get a better translation of Vento Aureo out as soon as possible so people don't have to rely on the shitty translation that's been in use for the past decade. Copying the translation onto the color scans can come later.
ive never done cleaning/editing work before so help me understand why it's easier and faster
>rereading the baby face fight
Oh yeah this is much better, actually could follow a bit of what the fuck was going on.
But due to the nature of Gold Experience's "life" fuckaroos I actually got lost on one point.
Part 7 pages 14-19 or so. Did he turn the bike into GE's hand, punch Baby Face, get the fist grabbed, and then turned it into some other "organism" and went sent it inside baby face? Or what happened right there?
I love Araki's ability to hype up anything. The D'Arby arcs in Stardust were great. Then there's the game of catch in Stone Ocean, the beetle fight in JoJolion. I think there's some more.
New Jojorion chapter when? I need more of my Kira suffering.
Came out 3 days ago in Nipland so a few more days. Major spoilers, read at your own risk
Josefumi and Kira escape but not without Damo mortally wounding Kira. Josefumi feeds Kira the second Rokakaka they've grown (one was meant for Holly and the other for Tsurugi since we found out a while ago that Norisuke made a deal with Kira for the second one) and it heals him but takes Killer Queen in exchange, leaving him alive but with no soul. You'll get more suffering anon.
What's in the box, my fellow jojofaggots.
So after JJL 52, this top panel makes a lot more sense and is more evidence to suggest that Araki has actually planned out JJL and isn't just making it up as he goes along. The story so far has been over like 3 weeks total from finding Josuke to Damo showing up despite being 5 years in real time. I feel like people reading it for the first time after it's finished are going to fucking LOVE it.
It's full of newfags. Anyone who started coming here after 2006 is a permanent newfag with shit taste, only oldfags have good taste and shit like JoJo wouldn't be tolerated on old /a/
It was written a few years ago during the Yotsuyu fight, and in the newest chapter
flashback Yotsuyu immediately attacked Karera when she came over and tried to use her to threaten Josefumi and Kira, in the same fashion he used Yasuho against Gappy. He's remembering or at the very least has an inkling of what happened before the equivalent exchange because he already knows what Yotsuyu is likely to do. It seemed like a throwaway line at the time, like if he already kidnapped Yasuho you could probably guess he was going to kill her so it seemed like stating the obvious, but the fact that Araki has kept this level of consistency over like the past 2 years when none of the other Parts (save maybe Phantom Blood since it's so short) have had or even attempted this level of consistency.
Most likely not, he was ejected from space and time and experienced an infinite number of alternate realities where the only difference is how he died, and he only gets to live the 10 seconds before his death before getting shot to a new one immediately. MiH only affected one universe by making it go really fast and basically cycle itself, like a clock ticking over from 12;59 PM back to 0:00 AM, so he was most likely unaffected since he'd already spent 10 years dying in brutal and hilarious ways and any ties he still had with this reality were probably long gone. The point of Diavolo's fate is that it's punishment, and since he used King Crimson to override fate his punishment is ironically a fate where he can be immortal and unknown like he wanted but only for 10 seconds before dying and starting over again. When this universe descends into chaos when entropy maxes out, Diavolo will still be dying an infinite amount of times in an infinite amount of places. It will literally never end under any circumstances. Since he's crazy he probably never stopped thinking like Kars did and is probably still terrified and screaming all the time. Have a good night anon.
Speaking of flashbacks, does anyone else feel like Flashback Guy is actually Yotsuyu? Their hair rests in the same position and shape and Yotsuyu would technically have been the last thing Josefumi saw since he was the one who buried him between two rocks and killed him.
For the retard that has asked for doppio pics 20 times already in this thread.
No that just means that shitposters here will have to accept Damo as the main antagonist sooner so they'll deny it all they can until they're proven wrong and say JJL is shit because MUH MANLY MEN DOIN MANLY THINGS GET THIS PUSSY SLAYING MANLET OUTTA HERE
Why? Diavolo is amazing. Probably one of the best characters in jojo. Faggot giorno had to ruin everything.
Fuck off Giorno, you salty bitch. Atleast he doesn't have assless chaps like your dad.
he looks great in a suit, but where the fuck was he supposed to hide a full suit underneath a sweater?
I'm the guy who you replied to, I'm memeing andI actually like Diavolo quite a bit. He doesn't need brilliant characterisation for his role, he's just a man who's allowed himself to succumb so badly to his paranoia that he's become a force of nature, there's no reasoning with him since his reasons for doing what he does are purely his own and stem from things no one else could possibly know of or hope to understand. He lives in his own little world where he can be a massive NEET and not have to deal with people while also being kingpin of the most powerful and hardcore crime syndicate in the world. Even Kars could be reasoned with, not that you could convince him to change his mind, but Diavolo has reached a point where he is literally incapable of doing anything but hurting people.
He's super entertaining and didn't need a realistic or detailed motivation to be a good villain.
A snazzy suit like we see him in the early chapters + his shitty oreos hair would have been the right amount of bizarre. Or fuck, something like what Bruno or even fucking Fugo wore would've been snazzier and more fitting of an adult mob boss.
The string vest is just hideous.
My man. Though it's an unpopular opinion, Diavolo is my favorite villian, with pucci and kira right behind him.
Diavolo is literally Annasui though.
I genuinely like almost every character design in part 5, except pesci and a few others. Araki really blew his load coming up with weird outfits. My favorite is probably Ghiaccio though.
>You walk up to the printing machine and put a piece of paper on the scanner. Promptly closing the top and pressing the copy button *
>You would hear several scanning noises from within the machine*
>As you are wondering what the hell is going on Dio brando would spontaneously burst out from within the printer and laugh at you while pointing at you, At the same time maintaining a extremely flamboyant and manly pose, Before yelling at you "MUDA MUDA MUDA!" for a amount of time before saying " You thought it was the printer making those noises, But no. It was me. DIO!". *
Hot damn this was one ugly motherfucker. What slag did DIO fuck to produce this and why was Giorno the only normal son?
>your face when David springs for the Bowie license at the last minute and this is the ED for the second half of DiU
He wears pants and some fishnet bullshit. If anything he has one of the more tame outfits.
>implying DIO wouldn't stop time, make a copy of his ass, run off, then resumed time
It's the fact his design completely doesn't fir the character. If it had been for some random mobster that gets killed off in a few chapters, it would just be a shitty forgettable outfit, instead it ended up front and centre.
>ED of Sheer Heart Attack after Kira is nearly identified
>I'M DYING TO
>PUSH THEIR BACKS AGAINST THE GRAIN AND FOOL THEM ALL AGAIN AND AGAIN
>I'M TRYING TO
Blackstar was a fucking excellent album, even disregarding Bowie's death and the bias it forms. The overall tone of the album would fit a lot better with Vento Aureo imo though.
I liked what Blackstar represented and tried to accomplish more and I had some other personal shit going on at the time and it's part of the reason I got through it honestly, so it'll probably stick with me more in the long term. Different strokes.
Honestly, he looks like Dexter.
Go away /co/. Please don't turn Dexter into Ghiaccio with your autism jojo shit.
The Next Day was his first album since the 80s to actually have banging tunes on it and not just be self indulgent weirdness (always Bowie's weakness).
When it comes to said self indulgent stuff, Blackstar was again the best Bowie has done like that since the 80s imo, but no really great memorable tracks over than the title one. It will always be remembered more just because of how he connected it to his death though, regardless of the quality of the music.
Sounds like it could be sung by Joseph, yeah. Good taste in Bowie btw.
Urban/Suburban ennui and paranoia was more Berlin trilogy or early 80s Bowie. Along with David Byrne he helped define that aesthetic.
Based, so glad translators finally see the obvious and have their priorities sorted. Everyone bitches, but finally a group is doing the right thing and getting proper translations out first.
Buddy Waters has been working on it for like 3 years but it's really low priority. for some reason he decided to redo all his subs for SC anime, because apparently that was suuuuuuper pressing
Fuck. I knew this would happen.
Now make melone be dee dee.
Not the same anon you replied to but here
Autism-kun here. Not even mad about it. I just don't want him in a zoot suit.
Hey Guys look XD It's a JOJO character!
Where did they get the idea that zoot suits = JoJo? No JoJo character wears one. The closest we get is Kira, but that's a business suit. Even then, he's a businessman so it fits his character so he's not just wearing it for the hell of it.
I have no fucking idea, I think they saw Kira and thought that flashy suits = obviously a jojo character!
Just think of "t." as "With Regards," or "Sincerely,"
I need more reaction images from the best JoJo
we would probably have a lot more stands named after song lyrics, and a lot fewer named after song/artist/album names directly, since it's the names themselves that have the copyright issues
or we would just have knockoff names like Tumbling Rocks and Plumbum Dirigible
Please. Stop fucking with me. Hes already Dexter, dont ruin him anymore.
>and the language it reads the best in
Eh, I'll give you that fact about Japanese, but if you aren't fluent in Japanese then it can be just as bad as if the scan was not correctly translated to English.
I got a stand for you right here.
>His stand name is [TECHNOLOGIC] and has the appearence of a human with a computer instead of the head or some literal shit like that because that's totally how stand creation works in the original series
I'm from /co/ and to be honest i have no idea either, at first i thought they started it because Daffy's color scheme in A book revew was similar to Kira's but them pretty much anyone whit a zoot suit started appearing in those threads.
there is a popular pic of Johnny standing with the purple gorilla while he mocks him, and people loved to mention how the gorilla looked like Johnny's stand
Im lying if I said I didnt get a fcking laugh at this
I think Kira but also Giant shoulders on many of the characters
Its due to the Looney Tunes short called Book Revue, in it Daffy is playing a parody of Danny Kaye. Said short was already a bit of an in-joke on /co/ due to the "Literally me" thing, but an anon pointed out that a pose Daffy strikes at one point in the short is a bit Jojo-esque, and as someone else pointed out, it snowballed from there. It's less that /co/ thinks zoot suits=JoJo, it's just that they know outrageous fashion=JoJo and attempt to use 'outrageous' fashion that the characters have already worn in their own shows, cartoons just had a habit of making jokes about zoot suits.
It's not just the outfits, characters like JOhnny Bravo, Rolf or anyone who is suitably different from the "norm", as it were are also in this in some fashion.
Also Plank is really bloody [MENACING].
It's far more about being outrageous and flashy than any certain outfit, and most of the characters who get ITS A JOJO'd typically fall under that umbrella. Plank is just ]" ]" ]" ]" ]"
The only thing I found funny was the South Park arc during their version of Stardust Crusaders, since it actually reads like a South Park episode.
Everything else is pretty cringey.
>post yfw the cast of iasip dubs Diamond is unbreakable
Need some help guys. Next Friday a bunch of my friends are getting together to watch the premiere of Part 4. We did something similar for Part 3. We're planning on doing some JoJo trivia, maybe an ASB tourney with just part 4 characters and watching the anime.
Do you guys have any ideas for other activities to do?
>there are people who will die before the steel ball run anime
>5 (five) days to download the 2012 anime with my connection
I wonder how far I can make it through the manga in that time.
nope, he's one of these "you'll get it when it's done and not a peek until then" kinda guys
you can try hitting him up on Twitter, that's the only place I know him to be active
come to the Jojo thread and we'll give you guys poses to do, then judge the results
same as above but we'll give you drawing topics and judge your drawings
create OC stands, post them here, and see who gets the most ridicule
oh yeah that's what I was thinking of, good call
I can't imagine them having a part 5 allusion that isn't really forced. like, would it just show Koichi heading to the airport and a flight to Italy departing soon?
I'm gonna straight up livestream my suicide if child Jolyne gets shoehorned in somehow
@BuddyWaters, icon of a black pimp
Star Platinum - Wild Thing
Hermit Purple - Whip It
or Watch Me Whip/Nae Nae
Heirophant Green - Spiderwebs
Silver Chariot - Heartbreaker
Magician's Red - Ring of Fire
The Fool - The Joker
The World - Holy Diver
I actually kind of enjoyed Clash/Talking Head but I also really thought Aerosmith was sweet so a fight with just them was fun.
There were a few good fights in 5, I guess. It also has it's fair share of low points though (BIG is probably my least favorite stand).
Why BIG when you've got stands like The Sun? I REALLY enjoyed the B.I.G. fight because the stand seemed utterly terrifying, and it's core concept was pretty damn interesting. Not to mention it ended with Trish blowing up a bloody plane too.
Foo Fighters uses her body morphing powers to turn into Jolyne ' "ideal partner", and seduces her. Foo throws Jolyne into a passionate kiss, which is actually a cover for her so she can send the entirety of herself down Jolyne's throat and control her body. Jolyne resists it at first, but over time Foo begins to control her mind too, to the point that when Foo finally leaves she is a truly mindless shell that can do nothing but slowly shuffle towards phallic objects and attempt to dry hump them.
not that anon, but I don't get the hate for The Sun. the fight was a nice lighthearted change of pace from the preceding battles. I think people just got mad that it was made 2 episodes
BIG was alright. imo the single worst enemy stand is Yo Yo Ma, and the worst stand fight is Baby Face (even though VA is my favorite part)
What about it's dumb to you? I mean, compared to other punch ghost stands with single main uses it's far more interesting. Unless you're just talking about the reference or design of it.
I don't hate the fight at all, I enjoyed it quite a bit, but it was literally just a sun. I think part 3 most certainly had the worst stands, Yo-Yo-Ma was at least entertaining and quirky in a pretty bizarre way.
Doppio x narancia. Starts out cutesy vanilla until shy doppio goes to pull off his sweater, at which point he turns into Diavolo and proceeds to fuck a confused and scared narancia. Would be amazing.
I know it was all an act, but to me, yo yo ma was like, so insufferable I seriously considered skipping the entire fight. it was like Patrick from spongebob tier being so aggressively stupid that it hurt to read
The fact that the user has to die in order to trigger it was probably the single most stupid part of that fight, I think. It was just the stupid Temperance stand, an ooze that you can't destroy that gobbles up everything. The rest of it wasn't any better either. I guess Trish getting a stand was cool, but she never really uses it again. Kind of a shame, too.
