I was both disappointed and happy with the Accelerator/Mikoto encounter. It WAS too rushed and left much to be desired but it, the implications of their part in NT9 as well as Will-chan's exsistence planted a seed for an arc about those two, which will also likely involve he clones. But just because the seeds for a serious Accelerator/Mikoto/clones arc doesn't mean Kamachi will do anything with it.

It's just that at the moment, accelerator has a somewhat of a sense of closure with the clones, with that fight in NT6 where mugino talked some sense into him.

The clones in general haven't been relevant for a long while. But takitsubo has shown progress recently and kamachi seems intent on shoving ITEM into stories they don't really belong, like in NT12. Might as well get her stuff over with.

As for beetle, he's in a strange spot because he's clearly not the same as kakine. His story just feels incomplete to me, not to mention his character (old kakine was significantly better than revived kakine and beetle). Maybe the next time kamachi has a hard on for fremea he'll get some more depth.

Accelerator's sense of closure for the clones is essentially "I'll stick with them and step up to protect them when the time comes." They are at a comfortable "on hold" place.

The clones will always hold some general relevance because they are a part of Aleister's plan, and Will-chan existing clearly means there's more. But as I said, they are at a perfect "let's hold it here for a bit" but by no means done.

I agree about Takitsubou. She has shown growth and there's a potential villian interested in her, not to mention possible Level 5. I could actually see Beetle involved in this. I don't know what will happen with original Kakine but I'm sure he'll show up when Beetle does.

But as I said, we aren't promised any of these arcs. It might be that all of these stories get left where they are in favor of Touma, Kamisato and Girl of the Volume. But as I also said, I think Kamachi's love of writing will prevent him from never going back to these plot points
