While i generally am a lazy bastard, when i get in the zone i can do 5h but the problem is that my current skills suck and i'm not enjoying drawing at all. I'm starting to think that since i only see drawing as a means to an end and hardly get any enjoyment out of it i'll never manage go start practicing seriously. I guess the more appropriate question would be whether it gets any fun later on or how to make practicing the fundamentals fun.

It's not fun.

The beginning stages are hell and you won't see good results for a long time.
The only thing you can do to make it fun is draw things you like (or draw for people).

It's going to be a lot of work and you need lots of will power to go through the shitty parts, once you're good enough to draw all sorts of bodies and poses you'll start to have real fun.

The more time you put into learning, the faster you get good at it. If you put 3 hours a week you honestly won't get anywhere.

One piece of advice I could give you is to draw consistently, at least an hour a day every day, even when you don't feel like it.

Some anons would be happy with ssf levels, and that's very achievable. Reaching professional level would take a lot of time and work but within a 8 year timeline it's very achievable even if you're working full time.

I still suck balls but I look back at all the time I just spent dicking around and not practicing my ass off.
Just takes dedication to improve.

That's always been rough for me too. What's finally started to work is drawing a comic more or less, which gets me to draw environments, different clothes, perspectives and everything. I guess that's what got my imagination running.

Before that I would just do that figure sketching website that most people get referenced to when I felt stale like that.

Alternatively think of something you CANNOT draw. And try to draw it. I have a lot of poses I can think of that I just absolutely cannot, and mentally I try to stay away from them which is a terrible habit.
