Let's discuss the MVP of the episode.
Ranta's wasted on this bunch of scrubs.
>there are people who don't agree on Ranta being best boy
She made her ancestor proud.
Compared to the past episodes, this one was much better, not as good as the start though, didn't see that many problems with it, especially since there was so much action. Next episode will be the same too which might be why the past few don't look that great, since they want to focus on the action at the end.
HE DID NOTHING WRONG.
I'm gonna miss watching this show every Sunday.
The elder kobold's face was shown while while they were walking deeper into the mine, then the face retracted into the shadows.
>It's not like they were fighting without making noise.
Ranta is even noisier outside combat than during combat.
>he touched a line with a bell or something
No, it was before even that. Touching that bell just alerts the regular Kobolds on that level.
The fact that Deathspots was there was because the party was spotted even earlier than that.
>mfw we almost got an episode withouth anybody saying "MANATO" until fucking Ranta said it
The LN develops different from the anime.
In LN they fought Merry ex-party member after they save Ranta, Deathspot find them afterwards.
Even the the corpses fight is slightly different (in the LN she doesn't embrace the corpses but cast the spell with her finger and touch the body with her palm).
>Was the Yume grabbing Ranta anime original too?
About 90% of the Yume scenes in the anime are anime original and if they aren't they are heavily modified, same for Mogzo and Shihoru, they are pretty neglected in the LNs and the anime does a much better job establishing characters in general.
Even Ranta has a lot of anime original scenes which improve his character greatly from his really bratty and annoying character in the LNs.
Not this time.
any moonrune fag here? how much is the bounty of the other bounty monsters? because dead spot must be op as fuck to have a reward of 30 gold(that is kinda retarded because i think high level adventurers would try their hand since they would be plow through everything there)
Basically, and yeah, it's anime original, aside from the hug scene, ShihoruxManato and some HaruxMary moments, pretty sure anything that might tingle your shipping senses are totally anime original.
I always shipped Yume with Ranta too though.
>Even Ranta has a lot of anime original scenes which improve his character greatly from his really bratty and annoying character in the LNs.
I can't even begin to imagine what kind of turbo faggot he is in the LN if this is an improvement
I think if they were aiming for S2 to the point of announcing right away, they'd have done some things differently and kept some scenes they cut (which aren't important unless they do S2). It's not like S2 is impossible since it'd be easy to include these scenes at the start of S2 but I doubt they are planning on doing it otherwise they'd not do such a roundabout thing.
Who knows in the future though.
>ShihoruxManato and some HaruxMary moments, pretty sure anything that might tingle your shipping senses are totally anime original.
>ShihoruxManato and some HaruxMary moments, pretty sure anything that might tingle your shipping senses are totally anime original.
HaruxMary scenes were in the LN just different and not so evident.
In the LN they drink togheter and confide their worries to each other.
I think the anime changed a lot, especially in later episodes.
In the LN there was no bounty we heard about for him. In any case, the orc shaman leader of a future arc had a 50 gold bounty, while the orc leader of same place had a 100 gold bounty.
In any case, Deathspot is really strong, way more than any other kobold. Merry party which was stronger than Haruhiro one at the moment had no chance against it.
I really want this anime to become somehow popular and it getting a bigger budget for the next seasons. I like "MMO-Like" animes but I was really tired of the common "Main character is a Sword user and he's so powerfull and strong".
I miss Log Horizon
Yume jumping on Ranta isn't original.
>“G-g-g…” Mogzo shrank back. “G-ghosts…”
>Yume let out a yelp and jumped back, crashing into Ranta and clinging to him. When she realized who it was, she let go just as quickly.
>“Don’t try anything funny!” Yume said to him.
>“You grabbed me first!” Ranta shot back.
Even in this last episode they have changed a lot.
Like the sequence of the events, the embrace of the corpses thing and other things that weren't in the LN.
They have ride this "ex party dead trauma" to much in the anime, in the LN she is more stoic.
Really Yume? Now? You're talking about getting a pet now? Mary hasn't even finished spreading her dead friends ashes and you're already talking stupid.
Shihoru and Moguzo where offering words of respect and encouragement and you want a puppy
LN Merry has a strong willpower. She is the kind that don't show her emotions easily, although Haruhiro is able to notice them here and there.
Anime one is a bit weaker. Both versions are likable, although I like LN one more personality wise.
>not expecting spoilers
Nigga you fucking retarded.
Although they completely ruined the impact of what the entire "just go, leave me!" scene was from the novel, the anime version was "cooler" so whatever.
I'm going to ragequit life if they fuck up his dialog with the demon
she's always wanted a wolf, that's literally why she became a ranger
>Shihoru and Moguzo commenting about how good Merri's dead crew was
>Ranta comments on how he needs to invent a finisher for himself
>Haru: There goes Ranta saying stupid shit again, this fucking guy Jesus Christ what a dickhead!
>Yume: I want a PUPPY!
>Haru: *remains silent*
Fuck you, Haru, you hypocrite.
nah see when Ranta says stupid shit he's intentionally being edgy
Yume might literally be retarded. You don't make fun of actual retards.
She's a very nice girl, Im not trying to be mean. But she's clearly got some thing going on
I love fights with teamwork.
Yeah, but in the LN he have a complete chapter for himself showing his "coolness"... In the anime they give him some (innesesari) cool moments, I would preffer a better adaptation of the battle vs the old party of Mary to show the differences between them and explain that the zombies have less power than the original bodies.
>Team is finally competent
>Have them get shit on by 3 members of another team doing exactly what they were doing
Wow I now feel like they've gone no where and are basically at where any other teams starting point would be
The anime should have started with this fucking arc
yeah that was pretty moving all three times, surprisingly. although I think the best part about this episode was how even when things started to break down their teamwork kept them all alive; I was more moved when Ranta started defending the rear and when Moguzou just straight up lifts shihoru onto his shoulders.
>The anime should have started with this fucking arc
You completely missed the point of this series, congratulations.
I dunno, it could probably work if you skipped the Gobs.
You can outright ignore the whole THEY CAME FROM EARTH THING for all it matters early on and just open with the party down on their luck, without a priest and looking to build their way back up
But what about MANATO, Manato was the tank, dps, healer, and mage of the party. Manato was a leader unsurpassed by all Manato can never be replaced. If Manato was here then Haru wouldn't have to act like Manato because Manato Manato Manato Manato Manato Manato Manato Manato
Iceberg merry > alright merry
they've already written the story into a corner
no orc raidso I don't expect an S2, unfortunately, as even though they completely fucking butchered the story I love the artstyle they went with needs less fucking insert songs, this shit ain't symphogear or macross
At very least Anime mad it so the author could keep writing this story for a longer time and not need to finish it quicker than the story needed because it wasn't popular enough to continue on.
and I'm saying it in a "they fucked up the story to force instances in which an insert song was added" way
kind of like the retarded overused pop song in
Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushiifrom a couplefew seasons back
japan has shit taste as usual, more news at 11
this is a possibility
They're all cute songs though. Plus if I didn't, who'd upload them?
More like some of LNfags really like to use LN as standard, and if anime change it? bad.
That's fucking stupid.
Luckily back at few years ago, the director said he will never ever make a simply follow source material show, because that's pointless.
I'm digging the mine ambiance and the bgm.
How many times did this guy pound Merry's pussy to oblivion?
I'm guessing the next episode they will improve alot in skill to be able to go down again to rescue Ranta then go back up to escape from the place and that battle with the three ex-teammates was like an impromptu training session, they did something right to be able to beat them even though they had higher skill level. And hopefully this raise in perception will make Haru's superabililty less cheesy.
Right now he's writing 4 (with Grimgal), which seems to be what his normal rate is (he has done a lot of other series in the past 5 years, though most are usually 3 or less volumes).
Grimgal is his longest after Bara no Maria (which has 21+ volumes).
Never got an anime before either, I guess people let him write a lot but his stories usually don't get popular enough for him to continue them for very long and he tries to write other stuff from the start again.
I don't understand why cute girls choose to be adventurers instead of selling their bodies for the easy life.
>chill all day and wait for guys like Renji to come back and relieve their grind and raid stress and use you as a cocksleeve and cumdumpster all night
Every week he just needs to be excessively best.
>he's writing 4 (with Grimgal)
>Grimgal is his longest
Yeah, Ranta is cool. But what does >innesesari mean?
Had to assume a new form and chase the soul of its bonded master to another universe.
>No anon, getting carried by Ranta, Mogu and Mary doesn't mean they are good
Haru and Yume are at least at a point where tehy don't drag the party down
Shihoru is complete dead weight though
You can't kill Death's favored servant.
How is a wolf going to navigate ladders or ropes? Why not get a falcon instead?
inb4 Repede from Tales of Vesperia
Took so fucking long for her to go for anyone, even though it wasn't shown that the spell needed a lot of prep or that she was on the outskirts looking for an in.
Grimgar is how it's supposed to be written originally in the novels. It's ironic how you dare to call anyone else a secondary when you're using a second-hand awful mistranslation yourself.
They finally got their shit together.
>that leap teamwork
>holding tank's bigass sword while leaping
>archer finally covering retreat like she should
>ranta holding deathspots back
In review, I would probably secure the next well out, then terrorize the shit out of that level waiting for Ranta to show up.
Of course, it's what Jyumonji wrote in Japanese. He also wrote Deadspot and not Death Patch or whatever the translator felt like localizing it into. Don't even get me started on the attack names.
It matches. We've been through this enough times already, it's anything starting with Me- and definitely not Mary.
A GM would love to flesh out further the fauna of this fuck huge mine.
But they area clearly maintaining the smelter works, so I'm thinking they either cooperate with a larger Kobold empire, or trade them with other demi-humans.
And trusting a translator that fucked up the very name of the series when it was written for him in English in the very first volumes is smarter?
The attack names are correctly translated in the sense that the translator uses the kanji. But in situations like this, where you have something written in kanji+kana, and then katakana furigana on top, then the furigana is how it's supposed to be read, while the kanji is the meaning.
All that rolling and jumping, we dark souls now.
>A wolf can help to detect enemies and can work as an extra party member
Or they can lose their shit, and bark uncontrollably, making stealth go to shit.
Mercifully, p&p RPG's and games don't reflect this common trait amongst canines.
Should've included this shot, too.
>sneaking into orc village
>they have some farms animal and their shit stinks as fuck
>asshole DM says wolves are sensitive to strong smells and makes it start whimpering
That's why you never let people who want to be ranger elves in your team. They are dumb cunts that will fuck up.
>Mercifully, p&p RPG's and games don't reflect this common trait amongst canines.
Yeah, it's not like as if there are specific hunting/stalking breeds or anything
Nice! Nice! Nice!
im gonna miss having these collages to look forward to each sunday
>The attack names are correctly translated in the sense that the translator uses the kanji.
They aren't, though. He messes up the kanji meaning sometimes. He should stick to the English reading in the kana instead of localizing this as if it were a dub script.
Wasn't there a dumb cunt from the previous thread implied that's okay for Yume not to get any development, and that that garbage Merry is not Momonji's favorite.
Imagine how good it could have been if that garbage author addressed Yume's issues instead of shoving her trash wife.
This is my healer.
There are many like it, but this one is mine.
Stretches with Yume!
Gee I wonder if Ranta is going to be alright
It's pretty spoilery (especially if you pay attention to their gear) but it doesn't mean things are actually going to be ok.
Not the first time a PV would be misleading either (if the PV was anything to go by they'd be out of the mines in the first 2 minutes and be spending the rest of the time in town). I do think they didn't want to spoil too much on the next episode so they didn't include anything from the mines, though obviously that shot wasn't that smart either.
Who knows too, episode might not even be finished at all.
Dat bantz afterwards
>Amazing how you knew what I was going to do, Ranta
>Improvising must be hard for scrubs like you, Haru
I would watch a whole episode of sakuga Ranta.
Someone call the Yozakura Quartet staff.
Well, it'd also ruin volume 3 so yeah.
In volume 3 they enter a raid because they each get 1 gold for just being there, if they had 15 (I think it was actually 30) gold they wouldn't do it anymore.
Normally, undead act dumb as shit, especially automatically raised ones
But these guys were tough as shit. I think the adventurers are fucked in this world, if aside from the monsters they also have to fight previously failed raids. Imagine if Renji's party wiped and haunted a dungeon or something
didnt she say it was 1 gold?
also i agree why would you buy something like that you could either steal one or try capturing one of your own? if they exist in this world as wild animals?
The Dread Knight style looks pretty fun as fuck.
>Haru will never hold me in a thigh lock
In the LN the spell is different, she chant the spell with her fingers and touch the body with the palm.
Probably they make it like that in the anime to make it more drammatic but they have changed a lot.
With chapter 10 translated, we can see that whoever talked about how Ranta dealt with his first orc was very exaggerated. The way that anon described it, it was as if Ranta mostly soloed it and after taking the helmet off pounded it.
While here we see it was an effort together with Haru and Yume, with the two doing heavy damage before Ranta went for taking off the helmet. Also he attacked it's face with the blade of the sword.
Well, the idea was that Ranta is pretty quick-witted in battle much to the surprise of Haruhiro.
I don't really know what 殴る looks like in the context of a long sword.
Shit attitude aside, this episode redeemed him.
>“As expected of veterans,” the oafish Warrior said in a manner that could be taken the wrong way depending on the listener. It seemed devoid of sarcasm to Haruhiro though.
Kuzaku's first line.
Well it's kind of what we needed out of him. Yeah he talks shit but people are what they do not what they say. We needed more moments showing that when push comes he's got your back
Why does Haru have such a shit grip?
>Even Ranta has a lot of anime original scenes which improve his character greatly from his really bratty and annoying character in the LNs.
he's even WORSE in the LNs? How is that even possible?
To be fair, you could say the same about Haruhiro.
>he's even WORSE in the LNs?
All of them have shittier attitudes in the LN. The party isn't exactly made up of nice people except Moguzo. Moguzo is cool.
Hell, even Yume started bullying Ranta first, until he got the upperhand by repeatedly insulting her boobs.
>yfw encountering spooky monsters in the spooky hole
pure breds are the retarded ones.
certificate means nothing.
You can be born Aryan dog and be a lazy turd and not pull the sleds.
You can be born half Wolf half dog and pull the sled hardest.
Do they teach your anything about science where you're from?
The better argument would have been something along the lines of:
>needing to see through the fire
>not preparing a spear trap at the other side of the firewall
>Haru about to get sliced into two by the spooky Nito
>Ranta comes right in time to save him with Anger
>Spooky Nito parries Ranta with his left arm and is about to cut down Ranta
>Zodiakkun pushes Ranta out of the way and gets cleaved in two instead, saving him
RIP based Zodiakkun. Demons are best bros.
When Manato died I was really thinking the whole party would wipe and one kid would escape or be rescued somehow, then the rest of the story would be about them. Preferably one of the girls.
Before he disappears, he lets out a cackle and tells Ranta to die.
Ranta gets upset, says he can summon him anytime again, and charges at spooky Nito. Tries to lure him with Exhaust but gets ignored. Nito goes after Kuzaku who got his left armed cut and broken earlier in the fight and was collapsed on the floor.
What, do you think Zodiak is a part of Ranta's soul or something? The more we know Zodiac the more clear it becomes that his personality is basically just Ranta.
He's a total edgy dick and obnoxiously so, but he still manages to do what's needed and be a bro. All while maintaining the same shitty personality throughout.
I think they're probably bound together until the DK's death, and then the demon gets to devour the other soul in payment for what its granted them during their time together. Zodiak, for all its shittalking, is too invested in keeping Ranta in the land of the living for there not to be a big payoff at the end. Of course, this perspective comes from many, many, many D&D campaigns' worth of tropes and bias, we don't know enough about the nature of Grimgar's demons and what all is entailed in getting possessed by one, it's just a hunch that it's not all hunky-dory or even a truly balanced arrangement.
>Zodiak, for all its shittalking, is too invested in keeping Ranta in the land of the living for there not to be a big payoff at the end.
I'm kind of going by what the story says here, and what it says is that demons are a reflection of their summoner in terms of personality. What you described here is a shittalker willing to sacrifice himself when necessary. That's pretty much Ranta.
I don't dispute that at all, it states pretty clearly in the LN that the demon summoned is a close reflection of the summoner. I'm just saying that the actual summoning of the demon probably has a layaway plan for once the summoner dies after a long-term investment. Ranta never talks about the details of what's involved in actually summoning a demon for the initial possession.
the chances of the prescription fitting her own eyes is very slim, and would more than likely make her vision worse.
I dont think people realize just how recent an invention glasses actually are (as we know them).
Glasses aren't that recent, just GOOD glasses are recent. The first recorded instance of spectacles as eyewear dates to the 13th century. They were probably garbage by modern standards but they were there. The real kicker is that her stuff is clearly modern frames with modern lenses, neither of which should be possible by the local tech base unless there's some sort of artificers guild that's managed to reverse-engineer modern stuff and perfect duplication. It still doesn't solve the prescription problem even if that's the case.
Ranta is already worshiping Skullhell, so eating his soul might count as stealing. Zodiak's part of the deal is probably just that he gets Vices devoted to him, from which he takes power.
Now, what happens to him after Skullhell claims his soul is anyone's guess. Maybe he'll become a demon too.
>The first eyeglasses were made in Italy in about 1286, but it is not clear who the inventor was. In a sermon delivered on February 23, 1306, the Dominican friar Giordano da Pisa (ca. 1255–1311) wrote "It is not yet twenty years since there was found the art of making eyeglasses, which make for good vision... And it is so short a time that this new art, never before extant, was discovered.
Grimgar seems like what a 14th century seaside town would look like too desu.
>The real kicker is that her stuff is clearly modern frames with modern lenses,
Let's just say she stole it from a volunteer soldier and leave it at that. It's not hard to explain. She could have a fucking cellphone too and it'd still make perfect sense.
The King of Choices doesn't need scrubs and plebs to "save" him.
This is after they get saved by Souma's group, get invited to the DAYBREAKERS, and accept.
Souma tells the group that if they can take down Nito, they'll have more freedom to move around (I'm assuming the Wonder Hole).
Anyway, the ants they were fighting suddenly ran away in the middle of their battle and it turns out they were scared of Nito. The group decides to challenge and kill it, but turns out Nito is strong as hell. They get rekt pretty hard.
and nero allegedly used some kind of crystal to help view the fighting pits, but you hit my own problem with
>clearly modern frames with modern lenses, neither of which should be possible by the local tech base
if they were clearly some sort of cobbled together frame of some sort, I would have less problem with them.
and yes I am aware im arguing technology and realism in a anime about kids transported to a world where you can buy magic lessons that only take a week for 8 copper, and zombie casters. But to me its even dumber than one of them having a rifle or similar- it doesnt match the rest of the tech level presented.
All good points, again, we don't know the nature of the demons or what the possession entails. If the demons are actually part of Skullhell or are his worker bees with a direct connection, so be it. If they have another boss they're reporting to while subcontracting to Skullhell's followers, then there might be some issues.
and they looked like this. they didnt become more common and anywhere near modern standards till the 17th century.
this is a logical explanation, although doubtful that they would help her vision. and the idea of a thief having bad eyes for years and not dying in a place like Grimgar would be stretching it.
Did she even have glasses in the LN? Her manga design is better.
Still reading the fight. I guess the group is improving. Ranta's definitely the best kite tank ever, though. Haru's starting to get a handle on Ranta's impeccable timings during the fights. Shihoru also learned some lightning magic. Merry learned a big fat heal called Sacramento (can be used 3-5 times, forgot the specific number). Not too much on Yume except she's hitting stuff with her bow and does a good job with handling her own monster when she has to.
As for party interactions, Kuzaku isn't fitting in too well since he isn't fulfilling his role as the tank. Before the Nito fight, Ranta got him pretty mad by calling him a shit tank (something Haruhiro considered telling Kuzaku, but ended up not doing it since Ranta did it for him). Haru's always thinking about whatever happened between Kuzaku and Merry (the aforementioned save-from-rape scene) and also was pretty upset (internally) at Kuzaku for being a poor tank.
Spoil me LNfags,
when Mary dies?
No, because Satan isn't in charge of death, whereas Skullhell is the Grimgar god of death. Grimgar has a pantheon of divergent opposites in the same fashion that D&D does, with each deity having an alignment and domains of responsibility and an opposite number that has their own alignment and domains in contention. Yume's wolf god has an opposing deity as well.
>He doesn't watch for Yume's ass.
>Ranta got him pretty mad by calling him a shit tank (something Haruhiro considered telling Kuzaku, but ended up not doing it since Ranta did it for him)
That's why he needs Ranta. They think a lot of the same things but Ranta is the one who actually says them, saving Haru from having to personally confront and potentially upset the other party members himself.
You must be stupid. Here's a tip, her class has an option to have animal companions that fight with you. She wants a wolf, undoubtedly a boon in combat and heightened senses that would alert them to dangers or track down allies or enemies.
TL;DR don't talk shit about Yume, nigger
Shippers and waifufags are the worst.
I've always thought they were dogmen since I was introduced to them in Ragnarok Online. They also appear as dogmen in Re: Monster
Well anyway in D&D they're reptilian. The dictionary definition is "a spirit that haunts a house or lives in underground caves or mines"
Not to be a stickler but DS2 has the underground level from the starting area with a ton of scaffolding and shit. Also once I learned that boosting agi increases your invincibility frames, you can roll most things unless the mob/boss pump fakes you like Smelter demon does.
>he doesn't know they all start as babies and you have to raise them
>he doesn't know how you raise them determines how effective they are as partners
>implying she's my waifu
Feel like it is a plothole for Renji to have ignored Deathpatch.
Judging from the latest chapter, Renji is eager to grab as much glory as he can when he wasn't suppose to be rushing over the walls of the orc fortress so soon without Bri's orders.
If Renji was that exhilarated over killing an orc captain, makes you wonder why he didn't try seeking out Deathpatch.
Mary's party was Renji tier when it comes to talent.
In 7 days, they all managed to buy their contracts and were already soloing Kobolds while Haru and his party took more than a month to buy their contracts and were still stuck in Goblin town.
That episode was good and the animation was pretty nice.
The insert song was pretty good too but that's to be expected thanks to RON and AIJ.
Now that you have seen some of the different classes fight each other, what class would you choose if you were sent to grimgar?
Glasses have existed since the 11th century, I don't see why a world that takes place in a fantasy setting, which is based heavily off of times and tales of yore, can't have them.
1. She's came from modern world herself the same way.
2. Someone transfered from modern world was wearing them.
Contain your autism.
I wanna be Yume's pet.
>this whole fight
Their teamwork made me moist
>Haru's always thinking about whatever happened between Kuzaku and Merry (the aforementioned save-from-rape scene)
Haru needs to grow some balls.
i've got screenshots 4 daiz son... you just sit yourself down and start sewing baby...
