Tomo blew it. She should of kept her hair low.

Does Fumita read our threads? We started complaining that the manga is pointless and over after Jun's "character development" and the immediate next page was almost an exact image response.

>>138871225
At this point it's pretty obvious Jun's interested in her, but he's worried about losing his best friend since his trial run dating Mizu ended in disaster. It's uncertain the extent that he understands Tomo's feelings for him though.
>>
>>138871362
Doesn't that make him not interested in her? That's what the friendzone is. Popping a boner in the friendzone isn't uncommon.
>>
>>138871498
They both think they're in the other's friendzone.
>>
>>138871528
Problem is that Jun wants to be in the friendzone. He'd probably want to be secksu friendu but that practice hasn't spread to non-h yet.
>>
>>138871604
Jun wants to be in the friendzone out of fear of what would happen if he tried to leave the friendzone. Even though dating would clearly be superior he's content with how things already are so he doesn't want to rock the boat.

I'm pretty sure dating would be clearly inferior to Jun. Dating is rather formulaic. Even his dates with Mizusu were just doing sports together. It sounds like Jun wants a friend he can bone, not a girlfriend that he needs to do queer romance shit with.
>>
>>138871800
Jun mentions when Tomo takes him out to do Karaoke that he agreed to go because ever since they were kids she was the one dragging him into things that he found fun. Don't forget that Jun was a bit of a nerd before meeting Tomo.

Besides, they're practically already dating. Just because they start officially dating doesn't mean Tomo would turn into a valley girl and force him to do a bunch of gay shit.
>>
>>138871968
Jun wants his current relationship + sex. That's literally it and there's nothing wrong with that.
>>

Its sad that it's considered to have to happen. Dating doesn't have to mean doing cliché shit.

That's what we call a headcanon buddy boy. All we know for sure is that he's sexually attracted to her and wants to be her BFF.

Casual sex in manga would fix Japan's birthrate problems but politicians secretly undermine authors that attempt this because many of them bank on birthrate issues to win elections.

Because he's incorrectly under the assumption that sex = dating and he doesn't want to date her so he can't have sex with her.

You can only have sex with people you're dating?
>>
All these people in denial about how Jun is in denial. You'd have to be socially inept in order to not see how clear it is that he's afraid of ruining what they have now, so he tries his best to not think about it and keep the current standard.

You have the scene where she confessed to him and he blew it off with a 'misunderstanding' and then you have the scene where their friend taunted him and he pushed her into the rain. There are only two possibilities. Either he's very dense, or he's avoiding moving their relation to the next stage. And guess what, he's not dense.
>>
>>138873010
>Potential sex with Jun is coercion enough
Because someone in love would totally accept a shitty casual fuck situation where the other person practically says "I don't love you but I want to fuck you." Why would she accept a situation where her love will never be requited just for the chance to fuck him.

being fuck buddies only works when both parties aren't exactly in love with each other.

>Because someone in love would totally accept a shitty casual fuck situation where the other person practically says "I don't love you but I want to fuck you."

That's not how fuck buddies work. A lot of times that love shit just goes unsaid in a relationship until fuck buddies evolve into love buddies.

You guys are missing the point.

When normies in japan start dating they're pretty much locked into a marriage immediately.

So basically asking someone out on a date is the same as asking them to marry you.

The only exception are celebrities and voice actresses that can fuck many different people and so on...
>>
>>138873366
Jun/Mizusu ending a lock? Was it a Seo Kouji breakup all along?

Looks like I can't get any deeper in this argument without bringing out my charts and explaining why casual sex is bad for the next hour. So I'm done.

Well of course.
This is a case of will they/won't they which can be dragged for thousands of pages until they confess and marry finally, as per japanese customs.

the only curveball that can happen is if a big titted stoic girl shows up mid-way and we have a love triangle going then, but then it's just a worse case of will they/won't they and the more humble girl always wins those.

>ive never been on a date
>ive never dated someone

Sorry to break it to you guys, but to be "dating" means spending time together in a romantic way. That's why it's called something other than "hanging out". So it almost certainly means things like going out to eat, going shopping, going to date spots like parks or amusement parks or the movies, because that's the difference between dating as a couple and hanging out as friends. You can do your regular stuff you've always done, but to make it a date you have to make it more romantically involved by doing those things alone in the right kind of atmosphere and cuddling or necking or something. Otherwise you're just hanging out and not going on dates, and neither of you will feel like you've been on a date in a long time.

Has any of her "plans" produced something positive and not a rift in their relationship? The date was the only good thing she helped with, and even then that was half Carol too.

Think about it, if what some people are saying is true, and Jun doesn't want to date Tomo because his relationship with Mizusu soured, then why is Mizusu still being an unfriendly asswipe and confirming his thesis?

She's clearly got a chip on her shoulder and a weird obsession with Jun bordering on the sadomasochistic.
>>
>>138873923
I don't think it's an either or thing. She can genuinely want them to get together and yet still mess around with them for her own sadistic satisfaction.

Yeah, no. The whole "opposites attract" thing is a meme. 99.9% of everyone just wants someone attractive and preferably better than themselves.

>>138874211
Maybe philosophically but not practically. Dating almost never unfurls that way in real life.
>>
>>138874403
Opposite personalities attract. Not disparent levels of attractiveness. Better then themselves also fits too. Since a sporty genki person can go for the top student since they're so much smarter and mature. And vice versa.

Yes, but the bond you're attempting to strengthen is a romantic one and you do that by being romantic together. Dating necessarily involves physical and emotional intimacy and cultural traditions of courting.

I never even said that stupid idiom stop using language as an argument. Dating yourself is annoying and you should find someone who can complement your own shortcomings and you in turn theirs. The fact you're relying on wordplay to make a point shows how disconnected you are from reality.

Here's how it works.

Tomo is the mangaka's idealized woman. It's the kind of person he wishes existed in his life.

But Mizusu is the attainable girl he has a crush on irl.

So he'll write it so Jun for whatever reason is not able to hook up with Tomo and he'll get Mizusu.

The whole manga is about him playing around with the concept of yearning over a woman that can't exist for him before he settles with an ordinary jap wife.
