Why only worst Nishio works get anime? Shit like Pornogatari and other fantasy crap.

His best novels, get either liveactions like Okitegami Kyoko, or not get adaptations at all like Zaregoto.
>>
>>138860811
Because making a live action Bukkakemonogatari would basically be a porno. And they can't have children acting in pornos.
>>
>>138860811
Looks almost like an anime character.

KyoAni made Monogatari-Killer with KnK.

So Nishio, upon watching it quickly finished Monogatari novels and wrote this series instead. And it turned out better too.
>>
Okitegami was garbage though. Nisio is a hack and only bake did well because of Shaft's masterful adaptation.

Noice.
Gonna use that term for future shitposting.

The Bake anime is shit compared to the LNs though. As is the case with most of Gatari in general.

Hell Bake is where the series stands out the least, visuals aside I have no idea why the people who dislike the series as a whole make an exception for it. Generic love story between two awkward teenagers, the same formulaic story structure with each arc with the usually hammy moral shoved into the end of it, and most of the cast is massively underdeveloped (especially in the anime). It's fine to dislike the series as a whole but I can't take the opinions of anyone who says that Bake is the series at it's best (be it LN or the anime) seriously at all.

Memory reset? Uh-oh, that's my interest down the shitter.

I really don't get the Zaregoto thing. The Zerozaki Soushiki manga is the story of a relative of a side character from Zaregoto, right?

Err, I mean pseudo-relative, not that it really matters to the three people who also read it.

it is you faggot. stay in denial
>>
>>138864349
Seems like you're just butthurt about people having better taste than you. KYS.
>>
>>138864349
Despite complaints about high schoolers' romance and harems and so on, most people here actually love that stuff. Bakemono being a simplistic love story with some xxxHolic mixed into it isn't seen as a bad thing by most people here, it's just playing to what people enjoy (regardless of whether they admit this or not)

I'd go as far as to say that the actual quality of it is pretty much meaningless. There's romance and it's aesthetically nice to look at, that'll tick most boxes for the majority of people.
>>

this was a good show.

Sorry, wrong thread. Fuck.
>>
I don't think Zaregoto would work well animated, relies too much on the unreliable narrator, would probably be really hard to pace and has a lot of inner monologue.

>>138865993
Kinda, it's a story in the same world that shares a couple of characters, also, it contains minor spoilers about the novels.
>>
>>138866193
How is it's aesthetic quality not part of it's 'actual' quality?
>>
>>138866463
It is 'part' of actual quality, it by itself doesn't give it actual quality though
>>
>>138866411
>relies too much on the unreliable narrator, would probably be really hard to pace and has a lot of inner monologue.
didn't stop them from animating Monogatari
though you could argue that Monogatari doesn't work well animated too
>>
>>138866510
Nothing alone can give something actual quality
>>
>>138866539
After 7 years of it being out I started watching it this year and was kind of struck remembering all the power point slide memes.

I wondered if half the text flashing on the screen in a split second was vital or negligible or if I was missing out on something.
>>
>>138866578
Half of it is their attempt to cover some of said inner monologue (which lends to the point that both it and Zaregoto might not be suited for anime, because lets be real here, this still frame thing isn't great)
and the other half is actually Shaft straight up signposting that they haven't bothered animating this part of the LN
>>
>>138866659
I was puzzled by that unless I wanted to pause a frame each time they did that I'd be excluding some interesting information.
>>
>>138864349
This. Anime is disappointing if you read the novels. The biggest strength of Nisio is his language, and anime has almost none of it and cuts lot of stuff to.

Best example would be one has to read Nekomonogatari White, since anime adaptation was beyound shit.
>>
>>138864414
Just watch Live action. Its good.
>>
But every time I hear about an anime and read the light novel it's shit
You won't trick me again, anon
>>
>>138867604
Not really, you're just an idiot that doesn't frame-by-frame the powerpoint sequences. The anime almost doesn't skip a single line.
>>
>>138867813
The light novels don't feel like light novels but actual novels.
>>
>>138860811

Definitely a Nisio

Ill boy ill girl has been okay so far.
>>
>>138867682

>>
>>138867813
There are two authors that stand out of the usual LN shit - its Nishio and Narita. Thats it. Both are worth reading in original.
>>
>>138867893
Thats a plain nonsense and lie, and probably a bait.
>>
>>138868051
She is not fluffy at all though. She`s like a cat that hates being held.
>>
>>138860811
What?
>>
>>138868499
Try it yourself. I've literally read the novel and watched the show side by side before.
>>
>>138869541
Good luck - find me a scene of Hanekawa shopping for nessesarities and preparing her homeless stead or the huge ass monologue in end on Neko White?

The fact that Shinbo randomly inserts quotes in still frames, does not mean it translates the novel literraly.
>>
>>138868466
>doesn't know Romeo writes LNs too
>doesn't know that Shuumon does as well
>does know authors in Gagaga Bunko

You're so fucking bound by /a/, only thigs you know is what you saw an anime of. At least don't make absolute statements when it's absolutely clear you know fucking shit. Iy ous just posted that Narita and Nisio are worth reading, I wouldn't tell you shit, but no, you had to play fucking omniscient.
>>
>>138860811
What is this? And should I watch this?
>>
>>138869652
LNs are ONLY worth reading because of attachment to anime media. Without it, Nisio, Narita, and the rest of japanese authors would be irrelevant waste of time - because aside from Japan, other fiction belletristic exists.

So unless you are weaboo, you have better books to read. Only reason to read LNs is specifically if you got interested by some connected anime media in the author - thats it. As media themselves they are shit.

None of them are random, if he puts an entire scene in the anime he includes all of the dialogue left out too. If he skips a scene he has a titlecard like this (this is the scene of Hanekawa shopping)
