Urobutcher is worst at this.
>Let's shoehorn in some entry level mythology that can be liberally applied to every character or motif/science/politics/socialist individual happiness vs the collective/chuuni 2deep4u dialogue that could be expressed in a much simpler way.
Show don't tell. If this is 'smart' anime writing then my motivation to trawl for gems is waning.
And pretty much all of Butcher's stuff.
Do you even heard about Schrodinger's thought experiment? I feel smarter after this episode.
Sword Art Online Is the Smartest Anime I’ve Seen in Years (And It’s Only Half-Done)
Doesn't help that as much as I enjoyed Madoka, Psycho-Pass, Expelled From Paradise, most of modern 'Butcher's works are only ever socialist mahou shoujo, seinen, shoujo, shounen, ect. He's too self assured of his own edgelord status and anime with him at the helm has stagnated because of it.
Too much exposition makes me drop so hard.
>He's too self assured of his own edgelord status
>Too much exposition
Not written by Butcher.
He set a theme of oppression in PP and abandoned it for flashy action...
Most of Butcher's works are the exact same stories with the serial numbers filed off. Heck, even Kamen Rider Gaim is actually Madoka if you think about it.
He's not terrible, but if you see his work, you might as well seen it all.
For a show about little girls, it has a lot of character depth and mature themes. One of my favorite intellectual anime.
>He set a theme of oppression in PP
You obviously haven't seen PP.
I do agree his writing is usually quite similar. But there are important differences. Its those differences that make his works interesting and engaging.
Wait, what? The hell have you been smoking?
This is a representation of the shows intelligence. Her boobs are clearly "phantoms", this is purposefully done to add another layer of complexity to the show. This adds credibility to the idea of the "Phantom World".
Smart people actually tend to like stupid shit recreationally.
Thinking heavily is part of their job - so why in God's name do you think they do 'more' of that to unwind? If anime/video games are where you showcase your 'intelligence' that should be a massive freaking red flag to consider a career change.
Oh stop it. The "no tripfags" thing is as old as the hills, and it has done fuck-all to stop people from adding a hashtag and random text flotsam to the name field.
Then again, people are still talking about dubs vs. subs 30-some years when the debate was relevant, so whatever. Keep beating dead horses, I guess.
was clearly referencing the Kotaku article.
I rarely post here anyway, so I don't know if I can say that I am doing his to get people on /a/ to notice me, respect me, hate me, give me attention, or anything of that sort. I also don't know if I could give you a reason that wouldn't sound like a gigantic insult to everything Anonymous.
So, I'll just say "because I like it". Pussy answer, but it is what I got.
And why, exactly, do you think you like it?
Again, I'm not sure how to say anything without sound like I'm projecting hard onto Anonymous. It would come off pretentious as hell, but I'm not sure I know how to word it that would make sense.
Don't worry, I haven't posted with this trip in over a year, and I probably wont again for another. If ever. I understand the board culture and respect it.
Leave redditfags or better yet kill yourselves
>in the year of our lord and saviour Yeezus
Yui got a booty there
I know this was meant to be a joke, but it's honestly astounding to me how many people just don't even notice the more subtle character development and the huge amount of other details in the show. People seem to legitimately think K-on has no story or point, when it obviously does.
The McDonald's anime is pretty smart
I don't consider myself a smart guy but I do no physical labor in my job (office shit) and I enjoyed Symphogear as lot as I enjoy phantom world for the reasons stated here.
My mind wanders off during the plot here and there, and I can't focus on a bunch of sci-fi babble in a row so Lain wasnt for me. I still find her cute.
>anime for smart people.
Smart people don't watch anime.
