Honestly, the anime is great until the end of Thriller Bark. A lot of twats will say the quality went down way before but it is not that noticeable at all until the Timeskip. Imepl Down was pretty great too. Marineford was arguable.

Skip all fillers except G8 arc, which comes right after Skypiea. You can watch them later, if you want. Only the pre-TS ones though.

Character development. Pic related clearly shows his grudge against Whitebeard, but after realising the war was pirates vs marines in the end he sided with them to save Luffy. Luffy earned his respect in that war from a tsundere. Crocodile realised he didn't lose to "just some kid who came out of no where", he realises he lost to a pirate with a lot of potential and seeing Luffy die would let that go to waste.

It's likely Crocodile will be at the wedding due to his mafia theme and I won't be surprised if he helps Luffy fight Big Moms top dudes.

Toei's idea of epic finale always involves a tug of war style final attack. Honestly, it was done better this time than against Ceaser, whom Luffy really shouldn't have broken a sweat against. The real problem was the inconsistent drawing and animation in this episode. They literally only used about 5 minutes of decent animation interspersed with mediocre stuff or reused assets.

Just finisbed the episode, and I feel very mixed about it.

They made Doffy look like a straight up video game boss with the Holy Bullets or whatever they called it.

They did the Caesar bullshit and made Luffy struggle with the finisher instead of it OPing the shit out of Doffy. But it felt okay since you can argue Luffy is weak ass shit and only needed an energy boost to get through the strings.

The impact was my biggest problem. They needed a SLAMM sound effect when Doffy got his ass grounded instead of that "anime whiz shit" or have both even.

All in all, after 2 years and 3 months *in the anime* it's finally over, and it was pretty damn worth it imo.
