Oh. That sounds kinda worse. The manga builds up the fight between them to have it end in quickly with a single attack. Except that attack was the finale of their years long rivalry. To them (and the reader), it was an epic clash and was the perfection of both of their techniques. However, to the audience it was literally a one armed guy killing a blind guy, and they aren't impressed at all.

Which was a great ending, since the manga largely criticizes the idealized image of Samurai and the way legends are built up around them. Ending with the start of the fight is pretty much the safest and most cookie cutter way that they could have done it.

After all the shit they have been through, and Gennosuke deciding to be his own man and live for Mei he is ordered to desecrate Irako's body and become the retainer of Tadanaga. The final duel did end quite fast compared to previous fights. I think the most interesting aspect of the fight is that Fujiki used a dirty trick. He threw the sword toward his opponent's lover so he could get close enough to win through a contest of strength. As the archetypical honorable samurai it was unbecoming of everything he stood for.

What is the point of arguing with some moron who doesn't understand basic shit like what filler is or isn't. Of course the ending of Shigurui would go over your head, the final fight was the best in the series not in terms of how it was choreographed but because it summarised everything shit about Fedual Japan in the space of a few chapters and tied up every loose end in Shigurui perfectly.
