There has to be some way we can stop them. They originally made some good steps forward with improving the quality of dubs, but they stagnated a long time ago. There's got to be some rich guy out there willing to start a small dubbing company that doesn't fuck with source material inappropriately, has actors who respect the original performances, puts said actors in the same room to record, and is willing to pull a few edits to remove awkward pauses in dialogue.
Guillermo? Guillermo are you there? You're a huge fucking weeb and you're rich. Throw us a bone.
Literally who the fuck cares about dubs?
Fuck off.

Less shitty dubs -> More gateway drugs for latent weebs -> More sales -> More anime we like gets more seasons.

The reason why we have this stigma in the first place is because dubs a shit, but they don't have to be.

What wrongs that they've done are you talking about? How about giving us some examples?
Hey OP, how about you get rich yourself so you can do what you want?

Don't post about them and don't buy their products.
Or host a panel at cons about how Funimation is ruining the anime industry.

Leave this board, cockroach, and take your dubs with you.

Tone, rhythm, grammar structure, culture, and other means by which languages differ ensure that languages are always going to be bad at certain things, anon. For example, French will never be a great language for metal.
English is a bad language for Japanese media, especially anything that's animated or live action. The tones just don't match up with what's happening on screen, even in the hands of the best directors. This is because English speakers express emotions differently, both in terms of culture and in terms of the tone and rhythm that they use. This failure to maintain the original nuances applies to J-E translations in general, as well (J-E translation is an exercise in creative writing), but by keeping the original voice track, you lose as little as you possibly can while still having English as a medium.

It should be the least of their worries. Their translators are trash, they need to hire people who actually knows japanese.
