The Saturn game was really neat. I particularly like how, as you progressed through the game, you could read each of the 3 girl's diaries and they'd retell what had just happened from their own perspective.

I recommend playing the game. It's one of the few Sega Saturn RPGs that were officially localized. In fact, it was the very last game ever localized for the system.

It's one of the most expensive games to get for retro consoles, though. Look it up on ebay if you're curious. You can emulate it I guess, but I'd recommend burning a disc and playing on a real Saturn. Those go for real cheap in most places of the world.

Game plays like an ARPG. You switch characters and each of the girls has different powers to use. It's really cute and good looking 2D spritework, too.

I think it looks pretty good. Only did 720p. I own the Jap BD set, and the grain is way too excessive. Like, almost Space Battleship Yamato BD levels of excessive. Degrained it a bit, didn't end up affecting the lineart or making anything blurry. Gave it plenty of time to carefully do it, 10h per ep on a 4670k. You'll see a bit of artifacting, but it's not noticable in motion.

File size is on average between 300 and 400mb.

The only two non CD-R burned games for my Saturn are Sonic R and NiGHTS. Both are NTSC-J and the NiGHTS is the special box set bundled with the 3D controller. Which by the way is the best retro controller to ever grace retro consoles.

I suppose you can read moon? I've tried playing Sakura Taisen using the translation guide but I realized I was jsut reading the .txt file on my computer while pressing buttons on the controller and it wasn't fun at all.

NiGHTS is one of the best Saturn games, I think. Nice graphics, tight addicting arcade gameplay, fantastic music, and a nice story that's told entirely without voice acting. One of the most aesthetically appealing games out there.

I am pretty sure you can make a region switch on your current Saturn. That should make it work properly.

Alternatively, get an action replay. There's currently a method that lets you replace the cart's save function for the modchip function, letting you run CD-R games on it.
