Episode 11 today
Rakugo manga that I bought after glorious episode 9 arrived yesterday.
The last 2 episodes were nothing short of amazing, here's hoping it'll stay like that until the end.
>only 3 episodes left
There's nothing wrong with it necessarily, in fact I love that it's been in the past for so long.
But I was also really interested in the initial characters and their struggles. I'd like to see what happened to them, and hear their stories too
I almost cried.
It was beautiful seeing them do rakugo together.
If only Kiku was a woman they could have been a happy Rakugo family.
What a broken whore.
This episode was so damn gay but I couldn't help enjoying it.
Miyoslut falls off the balcony after trying to murder-suicide with Kiku and Shin tries to catch her.
It's revealed in later volumes that Miyo actually stabbed Shin and loli Konatsu then shoved Miyo off the balcony when Miyo tried to say sorry. Kiku lies about the truth to spare Konatsu the trauma of remembering.
What are you talking about, there is going to be a 2nd season. Why wouldn't there be one? A 2nd season is the only thing that makes sense.
A bitch that fucked herself over by not trying after getting a second chance and getting obsessed with a guy that stopped being interested a long while back blames him for everything. What a cunt.
>Sukeroku instantly responding to Kiku's domestic nagging
>Kiku bullying and then being motherly to Konatsu
>That fucking gay as fuck doubles rakugo
This episode was too much for my heart, I was smiling so much during their performance

We still don't know if this really happened in the real death version, but I wouldn't put it past her.
>kiku-san's cheeky smile and tickly noises
I can't handle this
Can we conclude Shin-chan and Miyo are shit-tier parents? I feel bad for their daughter.
This episode is way too sweet for the tragedy that is to come next week.
Shin really is just a broken man, who Miyo clearly lowered even more down with her constant downplay of what he devoted his whole life to. At least he clearly still loves his daughter, and taught her well enough.
I wish we got a Shin and Kiku two dads end, the mangaka usually draws homoshit.
>mother is a whore
>father is a piece of shit
How did Konatsu turn out so perfect?
I like it when he turns psycho.
>tfw no one loved Sukeroku more than Kiku, not even Sukeroku's own daughter
Definitely a contender.
>making your little daughter do the brunt of the work around the household
Sukeroku's really something
Hell has no fury like a woman scorned.
>when you realize Konatsu's son is named after her father
Even Konatsu thought it was lewd.
Main reason why I stopped at like episode 3. I was turned off by the fujo pandering and thought this show was about the acting. Then it got wierd with relationships and shit which turned me off.
Now I see people saying this show peddling this hard with this flashback.
I love Kumota Haruko's art. Her manga are all incredibly well written, which is an extreme rarity for BL, most of which are generic and filled with terrible cliches.
Tfw this will be ignored and people will argue that a light novel harem anime is AOTY.
It's the only show this season where I really can't wait for the next episode to air. The other stuff I'm watching is good, but it doesn't make me want more like this show does.
I'd disagree. The relationship that Kiku and Sukeroku share is both compelling and complex, whether the viewer wants to take it as romantic is up to them. But if they do, there is still obviously so much more to their relationship and it's honestly kind of insulting for it to be reduced down to mere 'fujo pandering'. But let's be real here, Osomatsu is pandering. Since it's so genre-savvy it knows what the viewers want to see, it's been doing it since day one.
Not even remotely comparable.
It's the exact same brotherly relationship with baths and tickling, the only difference is that one is a drama and the other is a comedy. Just because the latter is 'genre-savvy' as a necessity for some of its bits doesn't mean that the characters are written to pander to fujoshits. They don't need to be, fujoshi will eat it up regardless.
I still can't get that scene of Kiku performing Shinigami yesterweek out of my head. Seeing him and Shin acting together only made it worse.
Had the same feeling.
Male friends are close but not that close. Lets not excuse the pandering they are feeding us.
At least someone can admit it.
No but I am disappointed it went this route. You can be friends without having all that sexual tension.
There really isn't much sexual tension at all. Even in bath scenes both of them seems completely at ease. You can still definitely read a romantic edge to their relationship but there's really no sexual tension.
That needs actual translation, doing BDs for the show just needs someone to do the OP (which you can steal from youtube subs) and then encoding, timing and typesetting if you don't edit CR subs.
As do I. As a result of Rakugo I read a bit of Itoshi recently and towards the beginning there were a few interesting parallels, such as the protagonist defying societal expectations and being called out for it. Didn't expect what is perhaps Rakugo's most pervasive theme to pop up like that.
Daiz is long gone, you can stop trying to suck up to him.
I also enjoyed the relationship feeling moderately real. There wasn't chapters of drama when it turned out one of them had had sex whilst they were separated. Most other authors would have caused a shitpit of forced drama over that kind of thing.
>Miura's original novel revolves around Mitsuya Majime and Masashi Nishioka. Mitsuya is a serious man who is a poor talker, and Masashi is a sociable man. The novels follow their friendship, determination, and passion as they work together to publish a new dictionary titled "The Great Passage" (Daitokai).
>The novel originally shipped in 2011, and it inspired an award-winning live-action film directed by Yuya Ishii that opened in Japan in 2013. The film won the Japan Academy Prize for Picture of the Year in 2013.
Yeah, it was nice. I don't read much BL anymore for obvious reasons so it's a relief to see one free of the cliches you mentioned while still remaining grounded. I can see why the mangaka is held in such high regard.
A fucking dictionary. Out of all the things they could base a show around they do a dictionary.
Even her smut one shots are cute and fun
The difference is Rakugo is a form of entertainment it's like going to a play back then except the actors don't really dress up. So it wasn't that hard to get into. As for a dictionary I am not sure how they will try to make it interesting. Maybe the guy will go very autistic with the words making forms of art. Of course hopefully they won't just focus on that part too much.
Only the later episodes had a few moments for that shit. People tend to forget it's more then just that. Of course Fujo will clamp on to anything that catches their eye regardless if it's homo or not.
I don't know, but I'd probably blame this picture.
Good thing I don't care to compare the objective quality of the two shows or whether or not the jokes are good. The amount of purposeful fujo pandering is the only thing they have in common, of which there is very little, despite what baseless shitters like to say or what the fanbase would have you believe
People make porn regardless if you think it's catering just to fuel people to make porn. Only difference some shows generate more porn then others. I am still pissed their is hardly any porn of Shokugeki despite the blatant shit they have done.
>rewatching the first episode and fully realizing just how much Yotaro must remind Kiku and Konatsu of Sukeroku
I pray for season 2 every day
Oh god there's going to be a high amount of suffering next week, I'm not ready.
My computer is a bit slow so I will be slowly uploading these.
Here is one.
>tfw the show didn't end with Sukeroku and Kikuhiko raising their daughteru while Miyokicchi fucks off forever
Magaka had one job and failed to do it.
I just caught up on the last three episodes, the scene where they did rakugo together was great. I'm not ready for next week.
I am not sure how things would have turned out any better if Kiku did get with the whore. I feel like he would wide up dead as well.
It's mine at the very least. Like others said, I can't wait for it to air, and its the only anime I'm currently watching that I actually look forward to each week. It also had me hooked from episode 1 and anime rarely does that to me and it's stayed consistently good throughout.
Now imagine if each episode was 44 minutes, that would be insane.
3k is usually used as a baseline for ok sales. So it's pretty poor.
Have to hope the manga got a big sales boost instead, adaptations can do well by boosting sales of the original material. In fact most josei bombs in BD/DVD sales and relies on manga boosts, similar to shoujo anime.
After today's episode, go back to Episode 2 and watch from 3:23
It will make you smile a lot more than when you watched it the first time.
Oh, how have they grown.
Her nose is her mouth. You can not unsee it.
Yeah I just noticed it while taking screenshots of exact frame to make webms.
I find the little nose thing on Sukeroku more annoying.
What is the meaning of Konatsu's name?
How was Bon able to tell she was Shin's daughter from just hearing her name?

Anons here is all the art I have collected so far from this series.
Trust me when I tell you that these were the best ones.
There are some stitches in there too.
Some of it is a little homo.
>tfw they could have gone back to Tokyo and done collaborative rakugo together for decades if that cunt was dead
Remember kids, NEVER, and I mean, NEVER trust 3DPD. Not even your own mothers or sisters.
You're right anon. I didn't even have one dad.
Did you think he married a virgin or something?
Its in her genes. Fuck sluts.
Mangaka must hate heterosexual couples. She does draw homoshit.
I hope anyone who tries to turn Rakugo threads into Boku Dake style NTR shitposting dies a slow and painful death. It's too good for that bullshit, if you can't handle flawed relationships and characters just drop it now and go back to your haremshit where you can live in a fantasy land of the MC having every girl on earth dedicated to him alone.
It happened to Ojisan to Marshmallow, but it only got two threads that day. Since no one watches this show we might not get NTR threads.
Now that I'm thinking about it, I'd probably put it around my favourite shows of the decade so far. Like top 10 or so, this has been really fantastic. Easily my favourite this season, I dunno about year though since there's some other cool stuff coming out that I'm interested in.
Best Boy was in rakugo school and not with her when she got knocked up. It's an Oops baby from before they got together. You have to understand that years pass between when this story starts and when Yotarou and her get together.
I haven't read the manga so I don't know how it is for this series specifically, but the entire 'cuck' thing is fucking ridiculous in fiction that isn't NTR fetish porn. Cheating, swapping partners, getting left for someone else, even raising someone elses kid, etc is a staple of any sort of serious romance drama. It's an inherent part of the genre, the only reason /a/ loses their shit over it is because they're so used to harems and series with all female casts that exist solely for escapism.
Honestly, how Yotaro and Konatsu end up as adults (even when one is an ex-convict and the other lived through parental deaths) is still pretty up above how fucked up Kiku, Shin-san, and Miyokichi's relationships were.
That's what he gets for choosing hoes before bros.
>being in denial
Whatever helps you sleep at night.
Kiku knew better than to waste his time with a hoe and broke that shit off. Shin's a fucking retard who discarded his bro, master and his chosen profession for some used up pussy that later discards him like he discards the others. Kiku's too good of a friend for that waste of a human being.
Seems both Konatsu and Yotarou got the best and worst from Shin.
There are a lot of reasons to hate her, but that's not one of them.
In fact one of the few reasons I enjoy her in the show is she makes shippingfaggots like you upset
>the only reason /a/ loses their shit over it is because they're so used to harems and series with all female casts that exist solely for escapism.
Other boards shitpost about it too, just so you know.
Last one. It takes forever to make webms towards the end of the video file. Miht upload the sound versions at another day. I already have them made.
I cant stop laughing.Great episode as always, never really joined in the threads seeing the series doesnt need crazy explanation and shit.
The best, I have 58MB worth of screenshots for this episode. I used them to make webms since they provide the exact frame on the file name and useful to compare frames to make looping easy.
I use ffmpeg, my computer is from 2006 so it takes a long time to make clips towards the end of the file. Webm for retards is just ffmpeg and AviSynth with a wrapper. Its also seems to be for Windows only.
>mfw dual rakugo
>hello, little girl, I'm going to be your new daddy
You think we'll be able to hold back the tears when they flash forward back to present day?
I'm mostly gonna be crying at a lack of s2 and/or manga translations.
And now that I look at old Kiku again, he may be the first ossan I've ever been attracted to. He's so classy at all ages.
>Yuu Kobayashi voice again.
>The part where all three of them are taking part in the Rakugo.
