Here's a strange thought about rec threads. 4chan has had at least 190 million unique page views in its history (that was 2011, but it still works as a lower bound). /a/ is the third most popular board, so lets assume that at least 2 million people have visited /a/. This may be a bit low, but let's run with it. Assuming that each new person made a recommendation thread when they first got here, distributed evenly throughout 4chan's history, that would come to ~25 threads an hour, or a thread every 2 minutes. That would mean that this board would pretty much b e half recommendation threads, none of which actually contributing toward any productive discussion and just being some idiot who can't use google, or better yet, just figure out what he wants to watch himself. Continuing on, logic would dictate that that person would need to make another recommendation thread after having watched the series he was recommended, meaning that this cycle of making these useless threads would continue ad infinitum until any actual discussion was left to take a backseat to indecisive mongrels such as OP. Therefore, it is not just that you failed to lurk long enough to figure out how things work around here(or god forbid just look at which anime people are saying are good on the board and watch those), you have failed to use basic logic to deduce why making a thread such as this is so moronic.
