Is Palmon subliminally trying to tell us something with her fingers?
The eternal number one.
So are people shipping Mishiro? Looks like Koushiro is just being horny. I don't think they connected before and it doesn't look that way now either, especially since he called her out for being self-centred. Koushiro could definitely ask but I think he'd just be shot down.
>So are people shipping Mishiro?
It's been shipped for a long time, especially in Japan.
>it doesn't look that way now either, especially since he called her out for being self-centred
That's exactly why it wouldn't happen. Mimi is too prideful and domineering for someone as reserved as Koushiro.
>Koushiro could definitely ask but I think he'd just be shot down.
If that happens, I hope she doesn't destroy him.
I wonder what Jeff Nimoy thinks of Tri.
I can get why people would ship Kari and Takeru because at least they have some sort of common ground and seem to get on as friends.
But why Mimi and Koushiro? Both characters are pretty much polar opposites. One is a boistrous extrovert and the other is a thoughtful introvert. I'm actually pretty sure they hated each other when they were stuck together in one episode. Koushiro just ignored Mimi who went off crying.
If Jogress doesn't work anymore how come they still managed to reach Omegamon in the first movie?
Best digivolution sequence.
Omegamon is not a Jogress.
Regardless of that I think they'll ignore the thing about Jogress not working anymore like they are ignoring the chosen not being able to reach Perfect anymore.
>I'm actually pretty sure they hated each other when they were stuck together in one episode. Koushiro just ignored Mimi who went off crying.
Then they put Mimi and Koushiro together again in Diablomon Strikes Back.
The look on his face tells you all he thinks about being stuck with her yet again.
Infected Imperialdramon was a good start. All 02 characters must die!
Does Koushiro want to be a social extrovert though? I think he's happy where he is, just thirsty. I'll concede on Mimi teasing though.
If the writers really wanted to they could find a way for them to date. Still, you don't need the epilogue to know it'd fail.
Regardless of whether or not he truly wants it, Koushiro couldn't even go shopping without letting his spaghetti fall out. He probably appreciates Mimi's ability to function well in public space.
Which is also why Mimi attracts closeted lesbians like Miyako and Mei.
>Not using ClavisAngemon
Anon please, SlashAngemon already has a line and ClavisAngemon matches Shakkomon more.
Hot girls dig guys who don't put them on a pedestal. While the short-term effect of Koushiro calling Mimi out ticked her off, in the long-run it might have actually earned him a few points.
It's one of the most popular couples in Japan along with Takari and Taiora. I don't know why people don't think they aren't going to appeal to the fanbase in this nostalgia trip.
>That's exactly why it wouldn't happen. Mimi is too prideful and domineering for someone as reserved as Koushiro.
No. That's shipper fuel. Him calling her out doesn't mean they are being pushed apart. It means they are being pushed together in the eyes of shippers. He was able to call her out on her flaws which allowed her to analyze herself. It can be interpreted in a ton of ways that spin them together.
Oh cool, I was thinking about Shakkoumon's ultimate the other day since Cyber Sleuth has Silphymon's but not his. ClavisAngemon makes a lost of sense.
I just don't get why people would like it so much though. Must be one of those opposites attract things.
What, no Lampmon?
You non-inductive headcannon faggots make me sick.
It doesn't have to fail. They can easily be written to balance each other out. Mimi makes him more outgoing and Koushiro gets her to settle down. It could be pretty similar to Mimi's parents. Her mom is a firecracker and her dad is more grounded but still bit eccentric
>Her mom is a firecracker and her dad is more grounded but still bit eccentric
I hope we see them in tri.
They're so great.
No idea, I just saved theses from past topics about the first movie.
Why is Taichi such a little bitch?
If it wasn't for that scene in the 1st episode i would say Miyako is Jou girlfriend and all this mess started because Ichijouji is butthurt from being cucked.
>That very slight underboob
Tri is probably making Jeff Nimoy lose his shit
Reasons why Sora would make a better girlfriend than Mimi:
1. You can easily please her with cheap gifts ala hair clips
2. She wouldn't expect as much from you (fashion sense or career wise)
3. She has a nurturing side and would always prioritise you above everything else in the relationship
4. Less immature and winy
5. Isn't Americanized so you wouldn't have to worry about her cheating on you or getting spontaneous tattoos later
6. Is physically active so is unlikely to get fat either
7. Wouldn't try to emasculate you
8. Doesn't know she's best girl so ego wouldn't come to play
9. Isn't tainted because Yamato and her have never gone out in this universe
10. Thoughtful since she's so used to taking on the sisterly role of the group
Wow, he got married young! Is that even legal?
I still don't get what this guy's motivation for anything is. I also assumed he got rocked with the other 02 digidestined.
>1. You can easily please her with cheap gifts ala hair clips
But she spent a whole movie pissed off because of that.
>4. Less immature and winy
Half her character in Adventure was whining.
>9. Isn't tainted because Yamato and her have never gone out in this universe
She's an indecisive two-timer.
>But she spent a whole movie pissed off because of that.
She wasn't pissed because it was cheap. She was pissed because she was going through puberty and took the guy she liked(at least in that movie and Try) giving her a gift to change her appearance as an insult.
For all we know, he just wanted to hug the kitty.
That's pretty much we all we can derive at this point, other than somebody being influenced by DARKNESS or something along those lines.
That's okay, because I'm pretty sure Miyako fucked Mimi's blonde American friend.... and Mimi..... and Hikari.... and Daisuke.... and Takeru..... and Wallace..... and anything else that moves...
Ken really married a class act here....
Creepy psychic Hikari is best Hikari.
If Millenniummon is responsible for the creation of both its components Mugendramon and Chimeramon, are the other Mugendramon and Chimeramon such as Analogman's and the one player can get in Digital Monster Ver. S also the result of it, or are the naturally occurring unrelated ones?
I'm going to have my waifumon and noone can stop me.
Here's my template.
I'm going to fill it now.
Threadly reminder to not sexualize their friendship.
Trust me anon, I have far better things to sexualize.
I wish I actually could read Japanese instead of guessing by the symbols and seeing what happens when trying things. This seems like it would be a really fun game for a person that knows what they are doing.
I need more of this friendship.
>it's epilogue stays canon, except the couples, right?
>except the couples, right?
Are you kidding me? If shippers had had their way, it would've looked something like this.
What's with yellow sticky stuff they're spreading onto their bread?
This picture is so beautiful.
Takeru and Hikari
Sora and Taichi
Mimi and Yamato
These are the couples that has substance. This is how it's supposed to be. I still don't understand to this day how they could ruin it.
Yamato and Mimi barely talked. Hikari and Takeru's interactions consist entirely of one-liners. With the exception of that Dark Ocean episode from 02, none of these characters have ever said a single meaningful word to each other, ever.
Taichi - 2/10, completely fucked up his character without a good reason
Yamato - 6/10, he's got his head on straight, but the staring contests between him and Taichi have to end
Sora - 3/10, boring as shit with no personality
Koshiro - 10/10, he's the fucking best and grew up exactly how he should have
Mimi - 7/10, an extension of her 02 self, but she had some decent character growth and is at least present
Joe - 9/10, I feel for him and his predicament
Takeru - 5/10, hasn't really done anything and has this odd smugness to him
Hikari - 5/10, same as Takeru
Meiko - 3/10, uninteresting character with a generic anime personality
I can't telling whether you're baiting but at least I can respect such an opinion. Some people seem to have it out for dubfags when they themselves use certain trilogy like "digivices", "digital world" and "digivolve" which makes it obvious they've also seen the dub at some point.
Oh you're right. I got confused because most of the time they refer to that place as the Digimon world in the anime. But what I said about "digivolve" still holds true. In the Japanese version they always refer to the process as simply evolution not digivolving.
So basically, only the first half of 02 happened, just after they defeat him with Magnamon Tri happens, since they don't seem to be on friendly terms with him and he never joins their team and the real world stuff never happens
Am I getting this right?
Why aren't Tk and Kari asking where are they then?
>tsundere Mimi Jr
I want this to happen.
Actually I'm kinda hoping if Tri does well enough we get an Adventure 4.0 series about the epilogue kids. Won't happen, but it'd be cool.
kinda, maybe it's just the art style that gets me confused here. I assume theyw ere the same age as 02
>Am I getting this right?
>Why aren't Tk and Kari asking where are they then?
Unexplained as of yet. They're listed as missing. Maybe they were in the digital world when the gate closed, and that's when they were defeated by Alphamon. So the 1 kids outside the digital world wouldn't know about their defeat, just that they're dealing with something in the digital world for a year, like what happened to them in 1. So from the point of view of the adventure kids:
02 group of 4 go to digital world, gate is closed, year passes, infected Digimon appear, partners appear, leomon comes back, then all of a sudden Kaiser.
Takeru's "Aitsu" to him was just a result of his character flaw being his REMOVE DARKNESS persona. Everyone else called him Ichijouji-kun or Ichijouji. Notice how in 02 nobody called him Ichijouji-kun when they knew he was the Kaiser, before he reformed.
>But why didn't they try to talk to him/try to go after him/try to contact ken through normal means to see if this kaiser was him/try to contact the others/discuss this new development/do anything at all?
Because the movie literally ended one minute afterwards and Leomon just died. Also, how are you supposed to contact the digital world with the gate closed.
Not that anon, but I watched Digimon 15 years ago when I was a kid. Remembering the Japanese names for everything is way more effort than I'm willing to put into something that I watch purely for the nostalgia.
Besides, 02 and Tri both made it pretty clear that "Digidestined" is what English-speaking kids call themselves in-universe. That, and "Tai" and "Matt" were established as nicknames in the very first episode.
So basically I consider the names interchangeable. If people prefer the Japanese, fine. I won't stop you. But using dub names isn't THAT big of a deal.
I still the the new "Digikaiser" is the lingering soul of Ken´s older brother. we all know he died when he was a kid, and then stuff happened.
would explain many things.
like, his soul was sent to the digital world and was infecte with the first virus. it evolved and became intelligent.
The 02 Kids were defeated by their own digimon, who were infected too, and ken just couldnt kill his own brother, who he thought he lost.
Now he wants to kill the other Digiknights, starting with a highly infected meicomon.
how does that sound?
The only one you'll be forgiven for not having trouble remembering is Izzy→Koushiro, since Izumi is his last name, and the 02 kids sans Ken.
Also calling her Kairi is an unforgivable sin, as it's neither her dub nor Japanese name, and you just come off as someone trying too hard to hide the fact that you never watched the dub.
Though I'll give you that Tai and Taichi are interchangeable, as are all spellings of Joe.
Krillin was also the first main character to die and get brought back by the dragon balls, and his first death was what changed the tone of the series from dragon ball wacky adventures in a journey to the west, to dbz fights and power levels.
well, Kari is what she was called here in germany.
15 years ago, at the age of 7, i didnt care about japanese, since i couldnt read english or moon at all back then..
She´ll always be Kari,, and i´ll always use the dub names, because fuck you, thats why
I've never watched Digimon before and always just saw it as a poor mans pokemon (which in turn is just a poor mans SMT)
I played Cyber Sleuth a while ago and I loved it which got me interested in Digimon
Is this series a good place to start?
Is it good?
start with adventure, then adventure 02.
Then Data Squad.
Then come back here after you seen everything that matters.
XROS doesnt count, because its a huge pile of bullshitting fuck.
Data Squad had the new Agumon Path, the cute little sister, the native boy raised by digimon, Fking Digimon-punching, a mad scientist,
Humans that could digivolve...
Way better than that crap xros
I sort of want to know the identity of Jou's girlfriend so I'm hoping that the writer don't sweep the subplot under the rug and quietly pretend like she doesn't exist.
I know it's TOEI, but holy shit they went full lazy on the ultra and mega form sequences
There's one series with sequels and stuff (this being the latest installment in that) and a bunch of standalones.
Watch order for this:
Digimon Adventure movie
Digimon Adventure (TV series)
Our War Game
Digimon Adventure 02 (TV Series) episodes 1-21
Hurricane Touchdown/The Golden Digimentals
Digimon Adventure 02 (rest of it)
Diablomon Strikes Back
Digimon Adventure tri
Digimon Tamers (daily life trying to raise a dangerous monster created from network data in a time when the government monitors all network communications and has deemed it a threat)
Digimon Frontier (Power Rangers+Digimon)
Digimon Savers (Everyone in the world has a digital monster, main characters are part of a government body policing crime involving people using said monsters)
Digimon V-Tamer (manga that is pretty cool)
Digimon World series (video games that focus on caring for your pet digimon while also saving the world. Think: Pokemon-amie for the whole game, but you also have to take your nuclear cyborg dinosaur to the potty and tell it to sleep or it gets sick and dies) (Digimon World 1 for PS1, Digimon World Re:Digitize for PSP, and Digimon World New Order for Vita)
Digimon Story series (Video games that include Cyber Sleuth) (I think Digimon World 3 for PS1 counts as one but im not sure. Otherwise its: Digimon Story DS (World DS in english), Digimon Story Dawn/Dusk (World Dawn/Dusk in english), and Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth)
I hear World 2 and World 3 are also worth checking out, though gameplay and storywise they're unrelated to the other World games.
That's great to hear. Downloaded it to my phone the other day but haven't started it yet due to exams.
Is it turn based "evolve forward and back over and over until you get what you want" with multiple lines and multiple Digimon at once like Cyber Sleuth? Because that's all I could ever want in a Digimon game (especially with no grid based system). [spoilers]too poor to justify a vita or ps4, especially since all I'll want for it is one game and getting a new pc is more worth my money
>When defeated it gets deleted/green glass breaking dispersion animation.
So did Angemon in its first appearance.
>There's literally no way at all that they'd kill off V-mon and Wormmon.
They would since it takes them out of Tri.
Angemon was blue bubbles and a digiegg (also devimon was red bubbles and getting recreated in a whirlpool somewhere a few years afterwards)
Taking them out of tri can be achieved in ways that don't involve killing them. They still have to be present in the epilogue, remember?
DW3 is bullshit hard, prepare for rage and potentially restarting the game various times since you can die before you get a chance to save and you can legit walk in a high level are right after leaving the starting town, and it's one of those games that you die and go abck to the main screen
I've started the game several times in my life, and never finished it, last time was on PSP and got stuck in Waru Monzaemon, also only one specific version of the game contains one hard to obtain item to help you grind, I think it's only in the European version
Nah, you got up to 8 rookie digimon that unlock evolutions by increasing the rookie form stats and certain evolution levels.
You do not level/digivolve down, you just keep leveling until you have everything.
>burst digivolution system
>my lvl16 guilmon as a 25 growlmon just burst evolved to Dukemon and wrecked shit
>Frontier spirits as burst DNA evolutions
You might want to google that or get confirmation by some other anon. Since it's what I remember, dunno if It's right, but it really was only one versions that had something to help you.
And seriously look that up if you want to collect other of your favorite Digimon, you get them kinda already advanced in the game and grinding without story progression is unholy boring and slow.
Really the other anon is right, there really isn't a reason to suspect that the Imperialdramon that got its ass kicked and deleted was the real one. It got deleted and will probably find its way back to primary village so keep your panties in a bunch.
Notable: Iori is double missing, and Takeru's initial is an M.
Yup. TOEI fuckup.
I think they added meiko but then realized it would spoil the plot so changed meiko to takeru without fixing the M, then realizing they had two takerus, changed one of them to iori.
This would be amazing. Especially with how the CD drama ended. Them sending a message in a bottle type dealie to the digital world explaining how the government found the tiny gate in guilmon house and enclosed the area for a week before the gate closed, how jianling was gonna get into network research when he grows up to possibly bring their partners back to them.
In case you're not commenting on how much he lacked personality in 02, I mean this guy.
A less Takato centric Tamers in Tri style would be great, especially if they make them fairly older so that Impmon's tamers could actually play a role this time around.
The Perfect's sequences were actually nice because they are callbacks to the original animation.
The Ultimate's in the other hand, I don't think calling them lazy is enough to describe how bad it was.
Anyone find it super adorable when Tentomon or Palmon start talking?
Nope. That's it. Leaving.
>Takeru almost butt-ass naked
>Hikari wearing nothing underneath the yukata
>Takeru and Hikari
>Sora and Taichi
This was the one that had at least a lick of sense, but they don't end together. People really need to let go.
>Mimi and Yamato
Wut? But now that you mentioned it, I just wish her and Yamato had some actual interaction as friends. It getting ridiculous that at this point that hasn't happened.
In retrospecitive, it's actually good that the only ones who married inside of the group were Sora and Yamato (putting aside Miyako and Ken and despite Sorato being lousily plastered almost last minute).
Hikari is also a really common name in Japanese for both males and females. It's also pronounced hee kaa ree so unless you're a EOP reading it written or a dub only fag you wouldn't make that mistake.
That is, until the epilogue, of course.
I think it's actually Hikari and Takeru's son. That kid is wearing a yellow long sleeve polo. But Takeru also wore clothes with bright yellow colors.
>everything can evolve to everything
Oh, then I guess this confirms Shakkoumon's evolution is ZeedMillenniumon, since everything is equally valid!
He just forgot to wear his stupid hat that day.
Digital Monster Ver. S: Digimon Tamers.
I wonder if Segata Sanshiro will kick my ass for emulating it.
Trying to feed Agumon an all-vegetable diet to see what happens.
Not him, its pretty wonky at times due to how messy the saturn board was, but it works pretty well
Its not PS1/2 tier of emulation where everything just works but a few bugs, but its playable
I was curious to see if this would sync up, and it doesn't, at all.
Masaru doesn't even punch anyone in the opening.
The only practical emulator is SFF which is closed source for Windows and doesn't want disk images so you need an extra virtual drive.
If you're coming from Cyber Sleuth I'd say Tamers or Savers would be more up your alley, as they focus more on digimon causing trouble in the human world.
Tamers is a slower series with more focus on characters and probably the most effort in making the digital world and digimon a bit more realistic.
Savers is more over the top and action driven, with fun but somewhat shallow characters ans good villains.
>Besides the fact that it shows that Hackmon was literally projecting everything in the room at the end of the fight?
It didn't. It showed he was watching it and nothing else just like the first movie.
Takeru apparently is the one that shows interest, it's Hikari that seems to be like "nah, let's tease and be a bit snarky".
She blushed there because, c'mon, he was half naked and she was also making fun of herself in the male-only section of the onsen.
>Takeru apparently is the one that shows interest,
Unless you think he saying he was going to Yamato's show with a girl is obviously he trying to make Hikari jeallous, which is really reaching.
Why are the best digimon girls the ones that are massive bitches.
Is it because their personalities are actually memorable.
Attention whores get mad when people don't pay attention to them. Mimi does not and just keeps being herself
Now she was a bit of an attention whore when she was little but I think she grew out of it
>Taichi - 2/10, completely fucked up his character without a good reason
This is just an extension of the Taichi character when he realizes he's over his head. Now he's older and considering the larger possibilities
>uninteresting character with a generic anime personality
What does this even mean? Weren't the others generic anime personalities as well?
>Attention whores get mad when people don't pay attention to them. Mimi does not and just keeps being herself.
That's true. On the other hand, Mimi always wants to stand out and be noticed so I guess that could count as attention seeking.
>Now she was a bit of an attention whore when she was little but I think she grew out of it
She's certainly more considerate of others but just has a tendency to get completely wrapped up in herself and forget about everything going on around her.
Yes, attention seeking is a better way of putting it
It's really reaching, but I've seen shipper coming to that conclusion.
The producer said in an interview that Takeru has interest in Hikari, and she's aware but would rather not act on those feelings and stays oblivious.
>Sora/Mimi cheerleader tag team
Fuck, I want to see that now.
>I'm talking about Mimi being best though
Sorry, I completely misread the post number. I thought you were quoting >>138788751.
In that case, have a Mimi in way of apology.
>Anybody who thinks Sora is the best is deluded as hell
Ain't that the truth.
She could rule over me any day of the week.
And what a strange and wonderful episode that was.
And that's the episode that made me realize the real reason all the kids had cool outfits with lots of accessories. It's because
that art style does terrible non-clothed body parts. Their feet are so weird looking, and so are their hands. Wouldn't mind a flashback using the new art style in tri.
Ph'nglui mglw'nafh B'est Gi'rl wgah'nagl fhtagn
yea the old art style sucked ass just like the rest of the series did (but nostalgiafags are just too blind to see either or grew up with the dub so they think its good). Really love what Tri is doing so far.
ph'nglui mgfhtag̢n͝ Ć̶͜thul̴̴͘h̵̀͠u̶̧͏ sh̖̮͕͇̤͍̣ò̩̪̥̹̠͉g̺̺̮̙̹̲̀g̜̘̟̥͉ w̭͔̻̤͚g̪̹͟a͔̫̟h̙'̩̺̜͓̝̲ͅn̴̩̮̩̘̩̺a͖̠̼̤͓g̺̣͕͕̮l͍͍̟̩̀ f̴̠͕̥̙̲͞h҉̯̠̘̠̭͎͟͡t̴̼̪̣͉̱͘a̳̰̠͟g̵̛̲͜n͔̠͍̱̬̻͢͢͡
And it was great
We need more of this
Then you'll come to realization that Ryo's importance has been grossly exaggerated.
Is this any good? Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball reboots made me not even consider this one. And since I haven't even seen all of the Digimon seasons and this looks like a sequel I'm even more reluctant to do so. Does it hold up compared to both other modern anime and its original one?
2/6 movies so far, each movie is cut into 4 episodes
What are inside the digivices anyways? I haven't seen any chosen children to be pressing the buttons, is just a charm to make digimon evolve
The Digivices could also detect the Crests and other nearby Digivices, I think.
But, yeah, don't remember seeing the kids press the buttons on the device itself. I guess they were there for show.
>Then you'll come to realization that Ryo's importance has been grossly exaggerated.
not just that but now reading it leaves more questions about it. I don't know if the show or the game is ignoring the other because now im more confused
It's been confirmed it's the same Ryo in the anime and games, but because they are such different pieces of media released at different times you're sort of just left to fill some gaps in yourself, sadly.
Like how metalgreymon is a corpse running on its cybernetic enhancements (the blue one was supposed to be the original design but was toned down for the anime and then became the virus version). Its said that the blue skin is discoloration/cyanosis
It's why I like Digimon so much. It has so many different pieces of media and each are so different, there is some really cool stuff in there.
Apparently OmegaShoutmon is considered Adult level in Next 0rder. I was wondering what they would do with him.
Now his power level varies as much as Magnamon's!
I'm not entirely sure if it's canon or not but can you download it from WtW.
Huh, I can't see OmegaShoutmon as being anything other then Perfect/Ultimate. Oh well, is it just the two Shoutmon that are in the game or do any of it's other forms appear?
>There will never be any sort of major animation or game about Digimon lore because kids don't care about it and only a small niche of the fanbase even knows about it
>The only thing that was close to this was X-Evolution and it was a shitshow
>Reading Milleniumon and the weird paradox it caused
>reading Examon and how it was hard to be rendered
>The mystery behind Gaiamon and appearance still not revealed
>UltimateKhaosmon body origin
I get hard, but a special kind of way when reading digimon lore, there is just too much, i don't think I ever read something like this before
Stupid sexy nurse Angewomon.
>his film was supposed to be a Mimi and Joe focus film. It was going to be great. The two characters with the least development in the original series would finally get the spotlight. Instead, the film “focuses” on our new character, Mei. Okay, that could have worked. We use her reactions to the team to learn more about them as she befriends Mimi. But no, the film is way too concerned with making her fuckable.
There are so many points wrong with just this extract I don't even know where to start.
What a batshit insane review.
Just needs a Perfect level version to complete the trifecta.
What a load of bullshit. Omegashoutmon wasn't bad at all even if weaker than Zeke Greymon and is the fucking inheritor of omegamon's power, being anything less than perfect is insulting.
Chosen Children all bullied him, Tamers all fawn over him or act tsundere towards him. It's gonna be pretty hard.
Just wait until Saban blocks overseas sales due to not being appropriate for children.
