Also did Kubo forget that he specifically made those things the ends of a 5point star? The only way Hitsugaya and Zaraki got from Pernia to Miracle was by going all the way to Yhwach's palace, ignoring it, and then going down a different arm of the star. And in the time it's taken them to run those laps Ichigo hasn't even gotten to the palace once yet.

It's still weird that nothing's been animated in quite literally 4 years. Atleast with Gintama they keep animating it, just with year-long breaks in between. The fact that nothing's been animated since Lost Substitute Shinigami Arc four years ago has me worried. Surely if they start animating the current arc now, they won't catch up until the end. It's a large commitment. They stopped before the Quincy saga began and it's very lengthy and still going as you said.

They may not be confident in it doing well. Bleach has been doing poorly in Jump and it's likely attributed to fatigue from this arc. It would take a long time to animate and it could go over poorly.

They also really enjoyed making their filler. While they don't have to worry about catching up to the manga anymore, it wouldn't be surprising if they wanted to include more filler arcs as a means to break up the monotony of a really long saga. They really seemed to enjoy adding slice of life into it. That's even more time and development money though.

There's not much to do but speculate

As long as they don't pull a Toei and start elongating reactions and adding unnecessary animation then the current arc, up to this point, would easily be condensed to ~60 episodes of material. Which is only about a year. Of course it would take time to animate but still it's risky considering Kubo's track record.

The finale will undoubtedly spike the popularity, but it's still selling well in general particularly in volumes.

It happens with everything. You sell rights to the series to the publishing company so they will publish it and advertise it. Undoubtedly there's a contract involved and whatever is in the contract is between WSJ and Kubo. But Kubo does own a part of the IP, to what extent I cannot say, but I can't imagine he was ever given the rights to the anime and its production.

No, they have powers too. They're just not developed. The Hougyoku pair both aim to copy a single being and both used different methods to achieve that. But both were ultimately imperfect. However when Aizen fed Urahara's hougyoku to his own it became complete.
That being is likely to have been the soul king himself, or Yhwach. Meaning they copied the soul sharing aspect that is present in a single quincy born every 200 years.

Anyone else got the feeling, that whatever Urahara has planned for Ichigo and Rukia will not be a good thing? Rukia was integral in restoring Ichigo's Shinigami powers, something Urahara said is equal to robbing Ichigo of his future. I think Urahara did something to Rukia (wouldn't be the first time), that transformed her into a catalysator that will activate something with Ichigo. Whatever it is will change the tides into Urahara's favor and have bad consequnces for Ichigo and Yhwach. Urahara may become the final enemy.

Aizen's version is going to be a better world, from his point of view, which is probably not going to be particularly good, so let's say, neutral evil.

Urahara wants things to stay the way they are, so, neutral. But consider that things are pretty shitty everywhere in the current bleach world. Everything outside of seireitei is fucked in Soul Society, the human world is no different from the real world version, there's murderers, rapists and shit, and Hueco Mundo is just sand as far as the eye can see. Which is why Aizen wants to change the world and hates that Urahara just pretends that things are fine the way they are.

Also the Shinigami are constantly lying to Ichigo and using him at his puppet. At least Yhwach is honest with him. He even pities Ichigo so much, that he genuiely considers killing him an act of mercy.
