Absolutely perfect mother material.
Get in before she's gone, lads.
Jesus Christ, lads. My heart.
That feeling you'll never eat with Koito and sit next to her.
I think she and Kurumi are the only ones that changed their characters and abilities. Leina and Mai hardly changed, and Haru probably developed his powers the most. Maybe his relationship with Mai also took off since the second episode too.
You will never sleep over at Mai's.
Just end it now, lads.
Degraded version of Shinka.
Bug Loli is the only character worth remembering.
Cthulhu is cute and a top persona.
Wow a dick that small might actually fit in Ruru. Man, this is the third Phantom World doujin so far. Comic Ket is going to be filled with them, here's hoping to Big Ruru or Witch or Drama getting some as well.
this cockroach is pretty cute sometimes
She looks more like a floppy bunny
Simple grey hoodie works wonders on Koito. Best girl, that encouragement, that smile, that everything.
God damn is Haru's mum hot.
Yes. I need this.
It's over, poor Leina is all but forgotten now.
Would have been better if Haruhiko actually remembered his time as a kid though. The character development feels very one-sided. Only two more episodes to go and Haruhiko's development has been pretty underwhelming so far in comparison to the others.
Oh god, they did give us the full shot of Koito in hoodie and blue skirt.
Missed opportunity right there.
Get in line.
>the staggering amount of shouta-djs this episode will produce
We will never get a family anime made by KyoAni with the same vibes this episode has.
Young mothers are heartwarming not dick tingling, which is much more emotional and close to all the viewers.
Don't worry, KyoAni mothers are as young and as cute as they can get, you won't be feeling empty for long
>loli isn't actually part of the harem
For what purpose.
Perhaps this cheerful one is more to your liking?
Can't wait to see how they'll handle Nishimom
What is Boito looking at there?
No, I'm telling them not to reply to the guy that's trying to start a discussion about the loli being "irrelevant" when she's not at all.
Anyway, why was Mai unable to fight this episode? What happened to her powers at the end and why was she getting those shock things?
I guess you're one of the very few who's never had the misfortune to be dead tired and sleepy as fuck
These things can fuck with your heart beat
Lots of character development going on in this single scene.
Either don't reply, or reply on how am I wrong exactly.
But screw that, you just want to be a cool kid jumping out on the "hurr LRD troll" wagon.
On the other hand, KyoAni makes sure not to care about their loli, or give anything to lolicon.
Nigger, I never said she was irrelevant, I was just asking why she isn't part of the harem. You need to keep your shitposter paranoia in check.
>Nobody is part of any fucking harem you idiot.
Oh so you're one of those people who can't stand to enjoy an anime just because there's a harem aspect to it so they just parrot "lalala it's not a harem!".
Fucking kill yourself.
There's two possibilities here:
You can either define harem as "a show with a male MC surrounded by girls" in which case Kurumi would be part of the harem because she's a girl that's always around the MC.
The other option is to define harem as "a show with a male MC where all the girls crave his dick" in which case this isn't a harem because no girl in the show is romantically involved with Haruhiko.
So either Kurumi is part of the harem or there's no harem.
Now you're either rusing me, haven't actually watched the show, or are one of those autistically dense harem MCs yourself. It might not be as pronounced as all of those ZnT clones where the girls forces the guy to get married after he saw them naked but the romantic aspect of it is subtly there with all of the girls except Kurumi.
Okay show me how.
>Koito blushed once!
>Mai looked up to him in admiration!
>Reina denied meeting up with him on purpose!
More like one was swallowing her pride, the other had just been rescued from a pervert monkey, and the other is a decent lady. Moving on.
No. You only need at the least two girls who have romantic interests. The other girls in the harem don't need romantic feelings, but interests in the harem MC will suffice. That's how Tenchi Muyo did it.
In the LN, it's very clear that Reina and Koito have romantic feelings. Mai too at one point until she friendzoned herself. The anime's adaptation of the LN is poor, but the girls' interests in the MC is there, although it is watered down.
Mai has been warming up to him over time but now probably just thinks of him more like a brother. I haven't seen any development from Reina aside from throwing Haru against walls when he hugs her. Ruru definitely wants him though.
>what are flags
Now I know the current seasons have been filled with nothing but haremshit of the like but being a harem doesn't only mean the girls wanting to fuck the MC from the get-go.
>being a harem doesn't only mean the girls wanting to fuck the MC from the get-go.
and I never denied that, I only said that if that's the way you define a harem, then Kurumi is part of it
Anyone would be better than wallpaper Reina. Please KyoAni!
Different guy, but what the hell are you taking? Koito is counted among the main heroines as a love interest, and she has enough characterization and growth to give her something to lean on. She also had more development that the other two, that is until Mai surpasssed her in the latest episode.
She certainly had a pretty engaging character development, literally and metaphorically.
Though based on her backstory does this means that certain phantoms are agglomerations of strong human emotions? I remember she was made from a decade of failures.
Koito probably will take the lead back if KyoAni decided to adapt the chapter near the end of volume 1 that focused on her moving in Haru's house. The interactions from the following situation is adorable abd shows new side to her personality, to say the least.
All the phantoms have rather interesting plot.
>and she has enough characterization and growth to give her something to lean on
what? and I'm the one's that's high on something? we only know she resented her powers, she's aloof as fuck, and she blushed once. Kurumi's episode showed us much more of her than the whole series has shown us about Koito. If you erased Koito's dialog or actions, only her episode would be affected.
Reminder not to fall for HERESY
Are catgirls heretical, Lord Commissar?
Mai - Khorne, aggression and fighting
Leina - Slaanesh, always never enough
Kurumi - Tzeentch, embrace change!
Koito - Nurgle, nihilist yet secretly friendly
>only her episode would be affected
Somebody needs to rewatch the whole show.
OVA should be about Mai and Koito bonding. Preferably including a training fight.
>nursing handjob and Maizuri never
Yeah, I also noticed. Koito changed through the episodes without any further development. You just can suppose they actually went through a lot things but the author simply omitted them. Maybe between each episode there is weeks or months of time.
I find it incredible how Kyoani managed to deliver less story progression than your average SOL in a show that's actually supposed to have a story. Honestly, it feels like it's going backwards at some point
I hope everybody just dies at the end so we guaranteed never get another season of this shit
but the anime is based on the novel
Holy fuck this episode
KyoAni is thanking you, have you thanked KyoAni back?
It really sucks how they gave us the bare minimum in terms of details for the characters. Kyoani just needed to give the characters a little more love and this would have been one of their best shows in ages.
Fucking weekly monsters.
>Show finally stops being mediocre
>It's virtually over
I was hoping for some Kurumi Onee-chan /ss/ this episode, shame we just got mai.
Jesus, this episode was adorable.
It's that time again.
Pick your KyoAni background waifu.
This is what you call a "good change".
Apparently Koito only gave a shit about Haru in the LN and was rivals with Mai.
Seriously, I love this show. Don't understand the hate it gets at all. It's really entertaining, but most of all really comfy. Looking forward to it every week. I love all the characters, even Ruru is good now even though she used to be really annoying.
It pains me knowing I will never see anything related to it animated ever again after this season is over.
>Mai will never be your mom
KyoAni makes a "poorfag single mom tries to make ends meet and do her best for her family" anime when? Basically, combine the best parts of Toradora and Clannad AS.
When shitposters don't find a legit way to critize a KyoAni show for what it is, they criticize it for what it isn't.
>Hurr PW is shit because it's not a battle harem
>Hurr Hibike is shit because it's not a SoL or Whiplash
>Hurr Free is shit because it's not for me
>Hurr Chuu2Ren is shit because it's not a porno
>Hurr KnK is shit because it's not a shounen
>Hurr Tamako Market is shit because it's not K-on!
>Hurr Hyouka is shit because it's not a murder mystery series
etc etc etc
They always avoid the things that they're actually trying to do, because they do those things right.
I have to say this weeks episode was by far the best episode of the show. There is no way this episode can be topped. Solid 9/10
This anime has the best expressions of the season.
I don't think you'd get irrationally mad when a boy you only feel friendly towards hangs out with another girl instead of you for like several hours. Are you baiting me
and people say KyoAni is gonna butcher KnK's designs
This show was amazing, what a shame that it'll be over in a couple of episodes. They really don't make anime like this anymore. And the ones that come close are really brought down by poor budget, so it's really great to see something like this in a Kyoani level of quality.
They're were all really enjoyable though. I wish I could put the hot spring episode higher, since it was honestly pretty funny.
Do it faggot
Holy shit, what a brat.
They're cute little shits. Haru wasn't exactly dumb.
I wonder how long he was a shota and if his classmates are gonna miss him.
I think its implied even before he caught her. When she pouted and asked "Do you not even care what happens to me?" Meaning to imply, do you not care if I get raped by this monkey, dont you want to protect me?
Mai will never be your girlfriend. ;_;
How much shit taste do you need to actually like this show as a whole? This episode was the first non shitty episode. If you like this entire show you're beyond fucking saving.
How would you allievate her financial problems?
Mai will never excitedly tell you when she's free for sex.
Phantom World was a deconstruction of the battle harem genre and is one of the greatest anime produced in the past decade.
It turned a shonen into an SoL through masterfully woven themes and imagery. Clearly Phantom World has a lot to say and few anime or all of visual entertainment have dared to be so ambitious and for that alone, it deserves to be commended.
Phantom World does have its critics and there are a good number of them. Some of these critiques point to the characters that do not develop over the course of the series and the negative traits that Haruhiko possesses. To them, Phantom World
is one of the most overrated anime of all time. I think these critics miss the point however. I disagree in that the characters do not have any development. In fact, they are developed so well that there is so much to analyze as many have done already,
Mai being a great example of this. No doubt they cite that the characters are all still messed up by the final act and they have not improved themselves. But they fail to pay attention to the journey in between. Each of the characters do develop. Kurumi
becomes less of an introvert and opens up to her classmates; a change from the girl who was so unsure of herself from the start. Koito also slowly becomes less introvert and starts closing the distance between herself and others. These are flawed
characters whom we can see some aspect of ourselves in. We go through up and downs in our lives never staying forever happy or sad. We live through good times and bad times.
It needs to be stressed, Haruhiko is not the typical protagonist in that we do not aspire to be him. He is flawed and human and perhaps that is why people hate him so much.
One of the big critique is that Haruhiko is too much of a whiny wimp and not to mention he almost brings the world to an end by summoning a not-so-Lovecraftian Cthulhu.
But Haruhiko is just a boy who has been forced into an extraordinary situation. How many of us could truly say went through the things he have and not come away harmed in some way.
When all is said and done, Phantom World will forever be one of the more unique shows out there. How many who have seen it can actually walk away and say that it was a show like so many other.
In conclusion, Phantom World is an absolute masterpiece that will forever go down in history as one of the finest pieces of visual entertainment.that you owe it to yourself to watch.
Thanks you for your time and I hope this can shift your opinion on Phantom World.
Horse-fucker made a vid about this showm so obviously his tumblr friends are coming to shit in here
>as if this place is any less shitty without them
I want to exploit a sleep deprived Mai into sexual favours to ease her financial burden.
What does Koito's face convey?
I think those most plates on the table were Reina's plates. Koito was just mentioning how good was Reina appetite which wouldn't make sense if Koito was the one who ate the most.
> Mai will never help you to calm down when youre afraid of thunder
Even Cthulhu is embarrassed for his master.
Haru should go nuclear more often.
She just wanted friends. It must have been so hard.
Friendly Koito is a miracle of the universe.
This episode proved that she can take responsibility entirely by herself, unlike some certain other character
Highlights that fit with the rest of the iris vs. contrasting highlights, often orange or yellow.
She can for a time but she'll overwork herself. Why would you want that?
Oh, wait, now I see it. At the bottom.
how do people even notice shit like that god damn
Quite a swirl of confusion from people who's outside of the loop >>138788545 so I've redid all those charts and made it easier to understand. Gonna be waiting next week for whoever that red spiralled witch is.
