MS is out. Better than the reddit translations.
Yeah it's actually good this time. Looking at Eto's page, it seems like she expected Shiono's death but what took her by surprised (the "..." bubble) was how Furuta knew the recording.
Welp you got trolled.
I think she was more confused about why Furuta didn't fuck with her plans and mad because he BTFO her.
Since when /a/ became this childish?
Praising a manchild that killed a man just to mess with the I hate my daddy woman just because she remembered him that daddy doesn't love him.
Pretty sure that V also ordered him to get rid of Shiono. CCG and V are certainly pissed with the books and how Shiono snucked it under their nose. Furuta is just creative in "dealing with him".
Seriously week ago some people were hating Eto because "she knows everything",
"everything what is happening is part of her plan"
But Furuta is basically doing same shit even at greater scale and nobody is questioning him.
Really interesting actually.
There was a red line around Haise's neck on the volume 5.
I guess that volume DID have Haise's death in it, so Eto death is seeming more likely now, especially since she had a hand in why that string was around Haise's neck.
It's because Eto is female and has an ass.
Most people here are beta fags that cannot see scum like Eto for what she is.
As Furuta already said ghouls are just fucking monsters that eat humans
He is a manchild. Look I have daddy issues as well, but I don't rage like Furura did after Eto talked about his family situation. I bet he has grudges against V for making him a weapon, he could had never received affection as a child, he grew up knowing he was just part of V's conspiracy and he would end as a ghoul investigator and maybe he would die fighting. That's why he acts like this, this is his way of rebeling against the lonely life V forced into him. Heck he despite his birthday, despite celebrating it and his birthday card shows him smiling with a rope around his neck. Furuta is a manchild in his rebel and edge phrase.
I think it's more like Eto knows everything, even Kaneki's plan so she acted like Kaneki must follow her order because of her wisdom. Furuta just knows everything but he doesn't try to alter or act like a god, he just goes with the flow.
Sounds good but put yourself in his situation, you will behave the same. People that have never been taught of morality can't comprehend what is childish and what is not, their morality and perceptions are screwed. We who have experienced what is good and what is bad know the difference between it and how to act accordingly, not to him because he has never been taught so.
You better appreciate it you lazy little shit.
Easier to see on the bonus art though.
Not having any parents can really fuck someone up. An orphan without a family to cling to can become a really messed up individual. Wise words a therapist once told me.
And besides, I keep thinking of his line in 66 "Do you also give birth?". It's just speculative, but his body might also be completely messed up.
Furuta hates ghoul so he thinks himself as human. Kaneki used to deny his ghoul part as well.
> bastard child
We don't know how he is made but Furuta's bloodline is more legitimate than Matsuri. He inherited the "yoshi" part (mura=fuku=good fortune=yoshi). Matsuri's name doesn't have it, unlike Furuta, Yoshitoki, Tsuneyoshi, and Yoshiu. Only the main family has that "fortune/blessing" trick.
It's becoming pretty apparent by now this whole Matsuri versus Furuta dispute for the Washuu legacy is going to mirror to Kaneki and Amon fighting as first king versus second king.
Just watch it happen.
I can get that the Shiono part was overreactd but the recording part, Eto really got trolled. She thought she could tricked him but it was Furuta's plan to use her to deliver the message to Kaneki.
I really have to praise him for that, thinking ahead of Eto.
Facts are that Eto threw a weak as fuck insult at him and that was enough to make him go apeshit and go as far as to turn a human close to her into her food. Furutafags are simply trying to deny to themselves that he got wrecked so fucking hard by Eto that he went to the extreme cause he got so butthurt over such a puny insult by screaming "ETO BTFO'D" despite that Furuta got wrecked beyond belief showing she was actually right with him being trash considering what he's done this chapter.
I thought it was just showing Kaneki is nowhere near as composed as we think. I imagine he's constantly napping his fingers in private because he realizes how out of control his life is.
Shame that unless he's wearing it underneath his jacket that Ayato's battle armor will not make an appearance this arc, I had quite liked it. Really the only thing I like about him.
> being vulnerable/ having flaws makes a character worse
same goes for furuta in my opinion, it'd suck to see him get back into genius puppeteer lvl character after the reveal about his issues
I swear, /a/ thinks literally fucking everything is deathflag just like reddit. That "line" is just one of her bandages which are always wrapped around her neck. Really?
Those were red strings of fate choking Kaneki (likely to symbolize their intertwined fates and Eto's "strangulating" love for him, much to Kaneki's detriment.) Ishida drew them gain as normal bandages in the vol 5. illustration card, and another time in the calendar. It's less about "Haise's death" and more about "Eto trying to control Kaneki."
Well Eto certainly got him at that father part. He still doesn't the OEK is after all those years and dedication of spying.
He is not really a genius god like level. But not at the level of a fool who knows nothing and being tricked easily.
>Ishida drew them gain as normal bandages in the vol 5. illustration card
No, it's more like that illustration card is the base of the volume cover that's been touched up a little bit.
It's the exact same post and idea, but with less color and more detail on Eto.
You can see that Niggerstream is angry because they're not the only group translating :re anymore.
Otherwise they wouldn't have pointed out that Helveticascans fucked up at this panel.
>No, it's more like that illustration card is the base of the volume cover that's been touched up a little bit.
I admit I do not know which came first, and I ultimately agree with what you're saying. My main point was "Haise's death" isn't what the vol. 5 art was highlighting.
>T/N There is no pun here
BLOWN THE FUCK OUT
You're desparate Etofag. If Furuta was so mad he would have killed Eto on the spot. Eto thought she was being all smart with the recorder but it was actually what Furuta wanted. She got BTFO and you have to accept it.
Better scan of the volume.
Is Sunlit garden the "Eden" of Tokyo Ghoul?
Foreshadowing? String in volume 5, death in volume 6. So if Eto has strings in volume 6, death in volume 7?
She's seventeen, officially.
Ewww. Craving for her oni-chan is a no no.
How the fuck did she even win this competition?
What the fuck with these deathflags those retards talking about? Hardly people even want her dead besides you. All your fucking live depened on her death. Get a fucking grip, jezz
>see you on the other side, Eto
Is this just being retarded or baiting?
At the last Special class meeting they said it was 13 years since they started fighting Aogiri and the Original series took place 10 years after the owl battle.
Kaneki was 19 at the end of the first series if 3 years have passed he would be 22.
At least that was how I got his age.
Hinami was 14 in TG she should be 17 at least maybe 18.
During the Aogiri arc he turned 19, Anteiku raid he was 19 1/2, then 2 years passed and :re started, meaning he was 21 then. Now after two 1/2 year time skips another year has passed and thus he's 22 now, almost 23.
Eto is only alive so she can be Arima's sex slave at this point so.
Maybe he can convice Kaneki to dress up as a woman? Cause Rize is nowhere to be found.
>It's just some random words this thing said, nothing else
Kaneki is currently a lot more stronger than he was at the end of TG, but that isn't saying much since he was only able to scratch him when using all of his strength.
Kaneki is either going to escape or he's going to get btfo by Autisma.
Arima must pay for what he has done. His days are numbered. Only one true man deserves the Akira.
The problem with most of you is that you are so fixated on tropes and finding the most asinine reasons for "deathflags." You are not thinking from a writing standpoint or seeing how Ishida is developing characters; a lot of you just want to find any reason for Eto to die. Which is fine, whatever, but a lot the "flags" are reaching.
>ETO HAD A FLASHBACK SHE GONE DIE.
Yes. That is called exposition. On a character we know little to nothing about who is just receiving attention for the first time ever.
And she has obvious plot armor, and you would have to be deluding yourself to think otherwise. Ishida is finally building her up and she is only just now receiving central relevance in the story. Why was she not immediately arrested? Why was she allowed to have a press conference (which Urie pointed out?) Why the fuck was an "in depth investigation" needed to determine if she were a ghoul when she publicly outed herself as a ghoul and exposed her kakugan on live television? Why has Kaiko not had this bitch offed yet? The Tsukiyama family and other ghouls have had no such luxuries. And Furuta's dialogue with her this latest chapter all but confirms she will escape when she recoups with Kaneki. Any objective reader who isn't retarded or not too busy fapping to the fantasy of Eto dying can see this.
"I'll be going first, Eto" is more accurate. Even so, the most this is highlighting is the idea that Eto may be similar to Kaneki in the idea she also wants to die. It doesn't mean she actually will, just like Kaneki.
>Who can defeat Kishou Arima?
A shame Kaneki didn't have the balls, maybe the knowledge, to release the SSS class levels that are dormant in Cochelea.
Then again, flesh eating monsters that eat ghouls and men alike may not be a good idea.
SSS Level is closed. Easy to get in, impossible to get out. It's the heart and brain of the prison. No, it was their very inability to exterminate the specimens in the SSS area that was the reason Cochlea exists.
That's where the breeding and VIP rooms are located too. That's where they rape the female ghouls too.
Would be cool to see Donato get released.
It's a SCP container. The specimens are used, rather their parts are used for very specific quinques and for study. They are either "dead" or put in a motion similar to Kaneki was, brain dead but with the flesh continuing to move, like a snake with its head cut off
Was that guy really baiting or he was really retarded to not know Furuta dropped the beams on Rize not to kill her but to incapacitate her and to bring back to the lab?
He was Kanou's assistant, having the job to collect guinea pigs, not to go around killing them.
I doubt they're actually angry considering they still receive the majority of the traffic.
People who don't follow TG as religiously as some people on here and on leddit only check Niggerstream, while most people who read tumblrscans will still read Niggerstream when they release.
I get the feeling he surely must be. Nobody would pull this much shit without the anticipation that one day an ass kicking is heading their way, I don't mean to say he's going to be even on the level of Seidowl but I would expect him to be as good as Matsumae.
All I know is that the Washuu clan makes convenience marriages but also have indulges with ghoul mistresses to produce offspring. Give or take. Arima and Furuta are products of this and are raised in the "Garden".
Rize is also the daughter of a washuu.
Ghouls are foreign to japan. The very first introduction to ghoul began when the japanese had contact with them in 1543, which ironically concides with the official start of relations in the XIX century, when the washuu started to thrive.
The belief that the portuguese were behind this infestation further grows suspicious due to several pieces of decoration Ishida has put in his manga, the mention of foreign relations and that the main trader of Coffe and spices were also the portuguese.
With enough said, the washu are directly involved with an overseas organization that is far older than them and is controlled by either high ranking "ghouls".
Ayato is best boi, though. He won't die, anon.
>how would he know she won't end up being dead
Because he knew her from the Garden since young? Like he even knew about her being the "breeder" so Furuta got her because of her extraordinary healing capacity. It's not like they are strangers.
In the case of Eto, she is on RC suppressants behind layers of fortified quinque steel. She can't do shit to him besides trigger muh daddy issues via trolling.
As far as Kaneki goes, all he needed to do was play along with his investigations and just report his findings to V. The only way he would "get caught" is if he straight up told Kaneki he was spying on him because why not. Which is practically what he did by allowing himself to be recorded.
Kaneki doesn't care if other ghouls kill humans, and so, he just releases some of them. But he himself would never dare kill a human directly. He's a massive hypocrite.
Kaneki is an incredibly hypocrite, indeed.
>Decides to be determined and efficient after causing the death of two innocents in Yamori's room, still unable to make decisions when it matters
>Furuta is not a good fighter
Etofags tears are delicious
That fighting without quinque reminds me of how Washuu people thought ghouls in the past with their "special technique". Since there was no quinque at that time, I guess blinding ghoul with sharp objects or even hands and then tear out their kagune seem like the way to handle them.
>You are right but I don't think he is that weak. He was trained in the Garden since young, he should be at least Hairu's level.
I don't think he's weak either. I have no doubt he is competent. But I don't believe Kaiko gave Furuta those instructions with the intent of having him fight them if necessary. His job was just to shadow and gather intel on the OEK. And Furuta doesn't seem to be concerned about Kaneki doing anything to him directly. Kaneki doesn't even have any logical reasons to fight him. At most, he would just want answers on Rize and V.
Hahaha, mad Etofag pretending to not be an Etofag to talk as a "neutral outsider".
Go cry, because your favorite little obnoxious, green-haired slut got BTFO, and is going to die soon.
I don't think he is against Kaneki because there is literally no reason why. He even said send his best regards to him.
The reason why he killed Shiono because Eto mocked his family relationship, it was basically a shit talking contest. However, Kaneki didn't even do anything to him, why he should really kill Hinami?
If ghouls in prison can use their kagune, they would have broken out of Cochlea since forever.
>If ghouls in prison can use their kagune, they would have broken out of Cochlea since forever.
That's what you're saying, but the cells could be strong enough to repress them, we know neither.
No. I read this manga quite thoroughly. Kaneki reserves no logical basis of fighting him whatsoever outside of your headcanon. Confront? Question? Of course. Fight? What for? Kaneki wouldn't do that unless the situation demanded it.
I doubt SSS and SS ghouls' kagune can't destroy those walls. The door because Eto and Fururta was that thin, enough to slide the food in. Even so, the glass when Hinami talked to Kaneki seemed not that strong.
I swear to god none of you actually read this manga and simply come here to shitpost.
She'll be to busy slurping on Rio's dick.
>I keep thinking of his line in 66 "Do you also give birth?"
Furuta and Rize were little kids in that flashback, it's impossible for any of them to produce kids, anon.
I'm starting to think Rize and Furuta were supposed to produce kids together for V.
This is why I am convinced the average /a/utist is 13. How does is that comment even remotely tantamount to fujoshi? Just meaningless buzzwords instead of actual discussion. Every time.
Exactly "what" did Furuta "do" to Kaneki? Drop steel beams on Rize and save him from certain death? Kaneki's subsequent ghoulification was merely collateral damage and ultimately saved his life in either case. Then again, I doubt you have the critical thinking capacity to understand something so simple.
Yes. He dropped those steel beams on Rize because he was looking out for him. He really thought about Kaneki's safety back then.
And of course, Kanou's very guard would have nothing to do with the kid that got a kakuhou transplanted into him by Kanou after said guard basically made the kakuhou available in the first place.
Please kill yourself. Your utter retardation is actually painful to read.
How the fuck do people like you function in real life dealing with actual people? It's a goddamned simple question.
Do you guys think that we will get at least one sex scene (even if it is just implied, we obviously won't see tits and stuff) in this manga involving Kaneki?
What are the chances?
Depends on how he wants KAneki to develop.
If Ishida wants Kaneki to grow into a whole person, then sexual catharsis/exploration will be necessary to become an adult.
On the other hand, lack of sexual activity might further solidify his stunted development.
Point out the delusions, genius.
Oh look, another brainless retard posting out of his ass. Where was it implied I said Furuta did ANYTHING out of Kaneki's best interest? Furuta outright said the matter with Rize was personal between Kanou and him, Furuta didn't even recognize Kaneki at the ghoul restaurant. It was collateral damage, pure and simple. You mean to tell me he knew Rize was going to be dating a 19 year old test subject, and did all of this for the sake of ghoulifying him? Idiot. Rize was the primary target.
No, I enjoy living. But I do advise you take your own advice and rid your abject retardation from the human gene pool. Then again, you will never reproduce so it doesn't matter.
>we obviously won't see tits and stuff
Eto and Rize have been naked before. Not super detailed, but there were definitely tits.
I agree with >>138642004
Sex would be part of the healing, whichever girl wins. Would be sad as fuck to die in style as a virgin.
I just watched Chibi's latest live reaction and he pointed out that when Kaneki is looking for Hinami on the computer his eyesight starts to fade. Kaneki's eyesight is degrading at a fast pace, first the glasses and now a partial loss of vision.
>Furuta works for Kanou
>Furuta drops steel beams on Rize to subdue her
>The guy who was with Rize that night just coincidentally happens to be the test-subject for Kanou's experiments
>B-but muh angel Furuta dindu nuffin
You're an embarrassment.
Those were good days.
The embarrassment is your reading comprehension. I just said Kaneki was collateral damage and pointed out that Furuta had no clue who Kaneki was at the restaurant, which you are ignoring. But you're still trying to "debate" (read: shitpost) I fully realize Furuta doesn't give a fuck about Kaneki one way or the other. But capturing Rize was Kanou and Furuta's main goal that night. Kaneki was a convenient bonus.
Considering how much of a hard on ishida has for Touka I think we'll see them together at least once.
It'll be when Touka realizes she doesn't love Kaneki anymore, and he can truly die
>Urie and the Quinx' find Mutsuki
>she's raping Torso
Of course we don't know his motive. He already said it was personal and that he wasn't going to talk about it to Eto. This retard>>138642340 just keeps trying to argue Furuta had this grand masterplan to ghoulify Kaneki and targeted him specifically.
Kawa deleted some of their chapters, for low quality I think. Stealth is still up though.
Didn't even post it here themselves, futilely deleted it. Hilarious.
Shame I missed this. You wouldn't happen to have any saved?
Honestly Touka is the only option for the 'healthy catharsis' route. kaneki has strong tiesto other female characters but sex would REALLY fuck him up, He sees Akira as a mother figure, and he himself is a mother figure to yonebayashi and Hinami. Not saying he won't bang any of them or that it wouldn't be pottery but it wouldn't be healthy
>Sex with Eto would make him all the more fucked up.
Nah. Looks good to me.
>Nobody gives a shit whether it was nothing personal. Furuta is still a big reason why Kaneki ended up ghoulified. Face it.
Face what? That he would have been killed if Furuta did nothing and ghoulified if he did? That was my entire point. Furuta unwittingly saved his life despite not giving a fuck one way or the other.
The sex would be easy. All of them want the Pede.
For healing my vote is Hinami. Touka or someone from the CCG would work too, I guess.
I was going to disagree that Eto would fuck him up further, but she's insane and he can never fully trust her.
All good points. I never liked that Touka rejected new Kaneki, but maybe he needs someone who will challenge him. The whole creating a place for him at :re also jives with him losing all his places to be.
I just wish I liked Touka more.
>Dropping steel beams on a bitch who was about to kill and eat him, thus saving his life, warrants a Kaneki having a reason to fight Furuta.
Do you realize how stupid and contrived this sounds? There is no reason to attack Furuta and every reason to probe him on info regarding V and Rize. I'm tired of repeating myself.
I do not even like Furuta that much after his temper tantrum this chapter. I am just calling it how I see. Are you retarded enough to think I am defending his actions? The only thing I said was that he never targeted Kaneki specifically for ghoul experimentation. Seriously, these buzzwords need to stop.
They've become the cancer infesting Tokyo Ghoul threads.
The new 'Wow!', the new Mutsukifags, the new Arimafags, Hidefags and Etofags combined into one shitty, try-hard group of edgelord children who missed the memo that "lol I trole u" hasn't been entertaining for years now.
Tell me, what is "delusional?" You refuted anything besides repeated shit slinging. Go on. Point out to me what Furuta personally did to Kaneki. You can't. Kaneki was collateral, and Furuta had no idea who he was. He seriously thought Kaneki was the OEK at first.
I was tired of repeating myself because you were too retarded to process basic information and decided to play hopscotch around my points.
The manga. Which retards like
who keep spamming "hurdurr Furutafag" have apparently never read.
Eto in >>138642334. A few times during Re, I think. The scenes with her torturing Karren. Several times during the roof fight, barely covered by a bandage.
Rize here and one of the cover illustrations, and the Rize analog in the first chapter of Re.
Tits aren't the focus of the scene, but they're there.
I am not a Furutafag, stop with your braind dead buzzwords. He's a fucking manchild. But hey, insults work better than making real arguments, right?
And there is nothing to "dismiss"; you have manga panels directly refuting your bullshit and are desperately clinging to headcanon. Kaneki has no desire for revenge. Period. He just wants answers, which is the very first thing I said:
No. It actually does. Your source comes into question because you can't compare the same Kaneki that didn't even want to hurt Yamori to the Kaneki now, who was happy enough to shove a metal pipe through Karren's eyes.
Your sources is an outdated, wonky and unreliable one from a Kaneki that was unwilling to hurt anyone, because it was still smack dab in the time when he was the one who would get hurt instead. This has long changed, as has his perspective on violence and revenge.
>wants to die already, is tired, can't keep going anymore
>ends up like the One-Eyed King as he has been depicted: a skeleton, wasting away, a symbol for ghouls and nothing more, trapped inside his own body for all eternity.
During his second talk with Itori (chapter 86 and 87), Kaneki is extremely vengeful against Aogiri. He only says he wants to talk to Kanou.
When he meets Kanou, he is not happy with Kanou's reasoning and blames Kanou for fucking up his life. Kanou also says he's joining Aogiri. Kaneki tries to attack Kanou before being smacked down by Shachi.
Kaneki now knows Furuta is working with Kanou. It's possible he blames Furuta as well. Kanou has continued his experiments and Furuta has continued to fuck with Kaneki, which has probably worsened his previous feelings. Plus, Kaneki is getting less and less patient about being fucked with, such as >>138643935
I knew Touka was related to gas masks somehow. It would make sense for her to be ghoul 33, I would find it strange for fodder to save Ayato like that.
Wow. An eloquent and well written response. You raise valid points, anon. But at present, given his apparent vapid indifference while listening to the recording, "revenge" is not on his priority list. I do not think he would ever outright attack Furuta without talking first. He plans to die in style during this prison break anyway.
The thing about Touka is her rejection of Haise is itself mirroring Kaneki's rejection of herself. After Aogiri Kaneki refused to let Touka join him so she could continue her life as a hidden ghoul. Whether Touka realizes that or thinks he simply doesn't want to be around her is hard to tell. However, we know Touka is still very much ingrained in the Ghoul business and if she finds Kaneki severely fucked up it's possible they can reconnect.
I just realized I never put my opinion in there. I agree with you, I don't think he'll seek Furuta out for revenge before "dying." Sort of like in V14 when he realized Souta dropped the beams and it was a neat fact he couldn't do anything about.
Afterwards, however, I think it will be a sticking point if V is Kaneki's new Aogiri. Especially if Furuta is as smug as he's been to Eto.
That's an interesting perspective that I didn't consider. If she has accepted herself, maybe she can accept him now too.
He's gotten worse since pic related. I wonder if Touka will be the one to snap him out of it. Hopefully she's more successful this time.
I'd forgotten she called him trash. Maybe he was thinking of this when he called Eto trash.
>Afterwards, however, I think it will be a sticking point if V is Kaneki's new Aogiri. Especially if Furuta is as smug as he's been to Eto.
I agree wholeheartedly. Furuta will be on the chopping block due to his affliation with V if he gets in Kaneki's way. But the irony is that Furuta's allegiance with V is also a front and is directly opposing them by assisting Kanou (and witholding info from the tape recorder from his superiors.) His personal interest supersedes anyone else's. He may actually want Kaneki to succeed is some capacity, but I have difficulty imagining them as allies after this. Kaneki would not (and should not) trust him.
>Hopefully she's more successful this time.
I doubt there is anything more she can say after the bridge event. Kaneki has resigned himself to his objective with full knowledge of Touka's ire towards how he is handling things. It would just be more of the same.
The only real person who can save Kaneki is Hide or a combination of his allies (Touka included, of course.) But Touka alone can't contribute anything more than she already has. Kaneki also needs to learn from experience (like when he realized he was going about singlemindedly gaining power the wrong way and ended up near killing Banjou and hurting the rest of his group.)
Yeah, I think furuta will eventually devolve into a shiono washuu kakaku half human, considering kaneki is implied to be half clown and half Vashukawachingchong. Considering Jack from BioShock is kanekis dad most likely, ishidro will most definitely develop a kakaku cocklea like arata. It's simple, really, I know this is just theorizing but panel 24 from chapter 107, page 23, basically affirms this with its mention of pizza casseroles.
Honestly Haise was the happiest Kaneki ever was. He was successful, he had subordinates that loved and respected him (albeit not all at first) and he had a mother and father who cared for him. I think Touka could see that, and felt it would be selfish to take that from him and forcing him back into the world of ghouls.
I know I'm in the minority, but I think 'Haise' is still somewhere in Kaneki's subconscious. There were too many experiences, too many connections 'Haise' had that Kaneki didn't. As far as I'm concerned, the only 'good' end is Kaneki dying for Haise's sake, letting him take over and save the Qs.
>snap him out of it
Suicidal tendencies which stem from an abusive childhood and continuous suffering can't just be snapped out of by some speech from ghoul chick you knew for a month a couple of years back.
Not him, but I am as well due to how utterly forced and contrived it would be. I doubt Ishida will ever go this route.
On the otherhand, I find it reasonable if all the people of :re, the Qs, Akira, Banjou's group, etc can pull him out of this together. But the only "sole" character who can do it is Hide. Period. Touka lacks even an iota of the influence Hide had on his life, they have only known each other for canonically 1 month before Kaneki left, which is why this role of her "saving" him alone is completely unsuitable.
I sort of agree, because I dislike Touka and think it will take more than her to help him. However, Touka herself could do more. She went about it the worst possible way: insulting him, beating him, denying his motivations. But she wasn't entirely wrong. It's something he really needed to hear and take to heart, but he hasn't. His complexes, past abuse, and her method all contribute to that failure.
The method is really the only thing that can change. The first time, she said he was trash who should stay out of Anteiku. This time, she created re and waited for him. To recover, he needs to know he's wanted and loved. Re is part of that.
It feels weird to be taking Touka's side in an argument.
>To recover, he needs to know he's wanted and loved. Re is part of that.
Obviously he doesn't clue in because he's ready to kill himself. I don't know why but I would find the series quite lame if he simply goes back to working at a cafe again.
This is the thing though. While volatile and childish, she actually got through to him. It worked, as it was the first time he was seriously challenged on his ideals. The problem is that it didn't "actually" work, because he immediately placed the burden on himself once more to protect everyone once he heard Anteiku was in danger. And in his introspection he outright admits Touka was right. Kaneki confesses to himsself that he is a coward afraid of solitude. He should change, right? Nope.
Fastfoward to the present. He is now consciously aware he is a coward afraid of solitude. He is also now aware of his desire for death: and remembers all of Touka's criticisms. He just flat out no longer cares.
>Obviously he doesn't clue in because he's ready to kill himself.
Well yeah, that's the point. He can't see it himself. He doesn't believe anyone can love him until he sacrifices himself for them. Except Hide, but Kaneki ate him.
>I would find the series quite lame if he simply goes back to working at a cafe again.
I would be pissed. I'd prefer re didn't exist. The options for its relevance are limited.
What was it with the blur when Kaneki was searching the database for Hinami's cell location?
It seemed like his eyesight was giving away.
There was a black circle around that image when he looked at the screen, similar to how Ishida showed Arima's eyesight back at the Theater.
Is Kaneki going blind as well?
So kaneki was double agent all along?
It seems that the more Kaneki uses his ghoul abilities the worse his eyesight gets. Since Kaneki isn't a full half ghoul his body could be breaking down under the mutation of his RC cells. Either way the longer thus continues the worse Kaneki's vision will get.
I think it would help for someone to remind him. The Kaneki after Haise has had no time for catharsis or change. Just increasing tensions between his CCG and ghoul loyalties. He's pushed through one shitty situation to another, reacting to what others are doing. Even this most recent suicide attempt is because of Hinami's impending execution.
That's why I'm hopeful that if Touka (and others) tries again, it will work a little better.
>He can't see it himself.
It's pretty fuckin hilarious. The reason Touka worked her ass off to create :re was mainly for him but in the end, he didn't realize it.
It's like she had to literally spell it out for him to understand.
I am hopeful as well and agree he needs to be reminded. But as I mentioned earlier, I also believe he needs a moment of intense self reflection and reach some sort of enlightenment. There comes a point where simply being told by others what you should and should not do will no longer be effective. Even a "Haise" tulpa convincing him that he has the right to a decent life would suffice.
But overall, I completely agree. I am just against Touka being some magical "cure" to Kaneki's problems despite barely knowing him and being outright irrelevant from after the 1st part of TG up to present.
Furuta likes to fuck around a lot but he's quite clearly on V's side if the birdcage is actually being threatened.
Furuta likes to see how much shit he can get away with but he's one of the biggest supporters of the birdcage.
Okay so I guess the last line of dialogue at the end of part1 was complete irrelevant shit.
>I am just against Touka being some magical "cure" to Kaneki's problems despite barely knowing him and being outright irrelevant from after the 1st part of TG up to present.
Absolutely. This is my biggest problem with the situation. The only scene in TG where I thought she made a difference was the bridge. It was more her projection onto him than her understanding him, but she was a great counter to his thinking. That could actually help him if done in the right way.
She talks like she understands him better than he himself, but she hardly knows anything about him. Many other characters, including the fucking CCG, have taken his background into consideration when dealing with him. Showing up to suddenly spew out insight, as on the bridge and to Tsukiyama, is ridiculous. It feels cheap.
Then why is he Kanou's assistant and aiding him in tearing that very birdcage apart? He is not even bothering telling V about the conversation Kaneki and Eto recorded because of personal interest in where it will lead. The guy is a free agent and uses everyone equally to achieve whatever obscure endgame he has in mind. I really don't know what the hell is after.
wew Furutafags. I beg you think he's on the OEK side and the reason he's after him is so he can pledge his loyalty to him
So how did Furuta end up being the leader of the clowns?
Was he the leader from the start? He's not that old and most of his clown subordinates are older than him.
Since the other clowns know who he is, why are they letting him lead them? They would surely know he works for the CCG and maybe even know about V as well.
Is Furuta's true allegiance to the clowns or V? Since recent developments indicate he lead the clowns merely to be able to interact with the ghoul community, then how do his fellow clown members feel about that?
And surely V knows about his clown persona, so that means all his clown actions are sanctioned. That means all the clown members are tools and they even know it too.
Yes, I know. How does that help Kaneki know that Furuta would stand aside? From the conversation he heard, Furuta belongs to V. He pursued some outside goals that may or may not connect to V. I guess that could indicate that he's flexible in his loyalties.
Kaneki also hates Kanou for ghoulifying him, so that's not really a point in Furuta's favor.
>he's ready to kill himself
This is important.
One of my assumptions, which I realize now I left out, is that Furuta will become a target for information, regardless of revenge or whatever. He's known and he's connected to Kanou, V, and the clowns. On top of that, he's been fucking with Kaneki for half a year. Kaneki has little reason to treat him nicely. Hell, Furuta was also part of the ghoul restaurant debacle. Madam A was less connected than him and Kaneki went after her.
Well with all the bird hints that Ishida has been throwing, it's hard to think that he likes to obey orders. I really don't blame people for not thinking so but you are arguing a topic that goes against with his character. He is childish, chaotic, and uncontrolled, not a puppet like Arima.
Can we not start this
> -you are X fag-
shitposting and discuss the manga again, please? We have had some quality posts and actual discussion going on.
It pretty clear Furuta is a snake with questionable loyalty to all sides he plays on. You do not need to be a Furutafag to realize something Ishida spells out in his story.
That's a good point. If Kanou and half-ghoul experiments were part of his efforts against V, someone like Kaneki might be exactly what he's after. He wants to be free of the cage or on top, after all.
I think his complacent behavior will backfire, but it makes sense he wants Kaneki to know about V and about Furuta's position.
>Kaneki is losing his eyesight
>most centipedes are blind or have very bad vision
Fuck you Ishida.
Furuta is the same type of character as Eto, which is why both character fans are so against each other. Remember how stubbornly against Etofags were on Eto not being the OEK and god forbid, there being someone above her giving her orders?
They are both the smug edgy manipulative le keikaku villain types with the only major difference being that Furuta is a lot more childish and petty while Eto plays the more cool poker face role never showing weakness.
Its no surprise that the fans have such an annoying rivalry.
>She talks like she understands him better than he himself, but she hardly knows anything about him.
Seriously, she even had to "interview" Hide on the subject.
I do remember that he said " Revolution is good" but Eto's method leaves too many deaths and sadness. Not that Kanou's method is less insane but I wonder if it's the structural change in the balance between ghouls and human. Eto tends to use half ghouls as a powerful army but not so for Kaneki, I wonder what he thinks about half ghouls and why he keeps helping Kanou to make more. Maybe not the power of them that he is after, maybe a perfected half ghoul.
Speaking of that, all artificial half ghouls can't eat human food right?
That's one of the scenes I thought of.
She didn't know his parents were dead while she boohooed about hers. She didn't seem to consider how that would affect his behavior, either. Jesus.
>arima and furuta sharing black joker card
Some said they are V agents and powerhouse.
>5 of hearts
5 is V, 5 of hearts represent 5 of cups in the tarot card.
>The Five of Cups represents a lack of fulfilment or non-attainment of expected results. You are feeling disappointed that a situation has not turned out as you had hoped, and instead of moving on to greener pastures, you are wallowing in self-pity and regret about what has been lost. The water spilled from the cups shows that the cause for regret is more emotional than financial. You are quickly becoming disillusioned with life and increasingly pessimistic about your future.
So even if he smiles outside, he is not ok inside. Pretty fitting for Furuta character and his moon card.
Furuta doesn't seem the type to care about casualties. He slaughtered his own allies. If Kanou is trying to break the cage, I can see Furuta helping just for the lulz. He hasn't really risked himself for Kanou's goals. I think he's playing multiple angles so he can side with the winner. I find Furuta inscrutable, honestly. The only time he seems sincere is when he's childish.
>all artificial half ghouls can't eat human food right?
I'm not sure. Kaneki definitely can't. Aogiri probably wouldn't allow Takizawa. The CCG seemed sure the Qs wouldn't be able to past a certain RC level.
Speaking of parents, with these new developments in Cochlea, while everyone's talking about Donato, but what are the chances we see or get an update on Arata?
Now's the time, if ever.
Poor bastard must be mindbroken by now.
the results of reaching Mutsuki
good ending 1: they save mutsuki, the quinx are all ok .Urie get the promotion he wanted and fall in love with mutasuki and made her his bride and pair the other members in the quinx become couple, everyone gets their girl and men
good ending 2: mutasuki is save ,but the two male members are unfortunately die in battle.Mustasuki and the other two girls fall for urie and become his harem
bad ending 1: Urie become cocky and is kill by torso along with the other two members. Torso get another two pretty girls that has scare on them as well and lustfuly use the same way to make them his concubines, take his three brides escaped the island.
bad ending 2: Mutsuki become the carzy and brtual sexual deviant like many think2 she is secretly is
Bad End 3: Mutsuki is dead, and Urie has to deal with the fact he has now lost the only person he felt some sort of connection too, and becomes the new Black Reaper in kaneki's place.
Best dad. I know this is a morally grey series, and while I genuinely like Shinohara, it is very difficult for me to feel sympathy towards him after Eto made him a vegetable. Especially since Arata could be in a similar state. But I smile knowing that Touka is the one who killed Mado, even if I do not care for her that much.
In Ishida's draft (and the anime) Ayato recognizes Arata's kakuja, and since Amon is still apparently donning it in :re, I would like to think he knows his dad is still alive (in some form, at least.) But he is in complete "muh Hinami" mode, so I don't think Arata is on his mind, sadly.
My favorite theory is becoming real. Hide is sleeping with the fishes.
>Mado "killed" Arata
>Touka killed Mado
>Arima killed Hikari
Hmm. I don't think the emotional aspect of this fight has been set up properly. I don't really give a shit aside from Ayato getting rekt. No way he can kill Arima.
Perhaps Kaneki will release him. At least to halt Arata production. He has no way to know Arata is Touka/Ayato's father, right? They have no way of knowing he's even alive, I think.
It will actually become real when we have a body or a full flashback to see what became of him. Until then, it's bait for an obvious red-herring. The CCG did not even recover his corpse and has him listed as "missing" whereas they just flatout listed Investigators like Amon and Takizawa "Dead." And I doubt any reader with a brain thinks Kaneki did pic related to Hide.
>implying Kaneki could eat an entire person in such a short time without looking like the Michelin Man afterwards
There would've been some remains right? Like bones, clothes etc.
It's obvious that he probably only took an arm or something.
>>implying Kaneki could eat an entire person in such a short time without looking like the Michelin Man afterwards
>in a universe where specific cells in ones body can erupt and grow to the size of an elephant or larger
>He has no way to know Arata is Touka/Ayato's father, right?
Yeah, I don't think Kaneki knows at anything at all. Do we even know Arata's rate? Capturing him was one of Shinohara's greatest feats, so I am assuming he was SS rate. I do not know if Kaneki has any plans of releasing the ghouls on the lower floors now that he has Hinami and Arima is coming. Then again, this chapter hinted at Eto's escape so they might opened somehow. I'm prepared to not see anything from him at all, though.
Ayato recognizes Arata's Kakuja that Amon is wearing, Ayato joins Batamon's team, he develops daddy issues over Amon.
>Ayato will manage to break away from Arima long enough to get forcefucked by the ultimate autist
>based Banjo will stick Arima to the wall with his kagune giving Ayato time to escape
>he rushes to Hinami's cell to find her macking on Nii-chan
>NTR'd out of his mind, he'll just run through the prison releasing every ghoul he can
>Donato smirks his way to freedom
That's my point. Amon and Takizawa are not dead, but were listed as dead because they could not be found. Yet in Hide's case, he is just listed as "missing" and they also never recovered a body from the battle site. Meaning just like Amon and Takizawa, there is no real reason to actually think he's dead. And at this point, it's safe to assume he lost some flesh just like Amon and Takizawa before his "disappearance" as well.
I am a Furutafag so I don't have that in depth knowledge of Kaneki's character. However, the Ace of Heart card he has symbolizes happiness, love, and the start of a relationship. Pretty good for Haise but not for Kaneki. His Joker card is a parallel to Juuzo but I am not sure what it is. Possibly how they used to live in both human and ghoul worlds. However, what I like about the card is that the Dove is descending to a cup in which 5 streams of water coming out, considering the V and CCG relationship.
>implying Hinami is going to keep the ship after she got rescued
>implying her head ain't filled with Harlequin romance tier sex scenes right now
>And at this point, it's safe to assume he lost some flesh just like Amon and Takizawa before his "disappearance" as well.
True. Amon lost an arm and Takizawa lost arm and a chunk of torso. They both lived long enough to be transported and ghoulified. Hide has a similar build to Takizawa. He should survive losing an arm or two.
>both were abused by 'mothers'
>Kaneki became reclusive, juuzo lost his personal filter
>Kaneki is raised by a human and becomes a ghoul, juuzo is raised by a ghoul and becomes a ghoul hunter
>Kaneki's link to humanity was a young ghoul, Juuzo's was an older investigator
>Both gained strength from Jason
>both led specialized squads in the CCG
there's quite a few parallels between the two although for the most part I think they dissipate in :re.
You ARE an idiot.
The fact of the matter is, Urie was blaming Haise for Shirazu's death. The lesson is that he can't blame anyone for the death of people close to him, but if he absolutely has to, it has to be himself.
probobly after the breakout. kaneki tries to lay down his life for hinami but she tells him to 'live' like her mother did for her. banjo, hinami and kenaki leave, ayato escapes but holds a grudge against keneki for taking hinami. during the night hinami holds on to kaneki saying she wanted to see him alot. he asks her age, she says 18 (which is proboble given the time skips). she says she was scared and isnt anymore with kaneki with her. asks him to live with her, she gets more and more attached and before kaneki knows it.
BOW CHIKA BOW WOW!
