What's the point if it's A-1 doing another shitty thing since they'll just phone it in or miss the point like they always do. They got much of the same staff to handle Asterisk and it's fucking dog shit for it. They just don't get how to make anything fun or enjoyable or god forbid tongue in cheek like Sunrise did with Horizon which is the entire point of why a lot of people don't want A-1 to get certain things. Sorry but as improbable as it is to believe Sunrise Studio 8 did a better job at their 2 runs at light novel series with almost zero experience in the medium beforehand than A-1 has done in it's entire existence with all the popular LN shit they've adapted.

In any case Sunrise's commitment towards originals is the main reason I don't expect any more Horizon out of them. The reason I don't expect much of anything out of them period is that I'm getting the impression something has gone wrong at the studio with just how little it's putting out lately. I mean it's a massive studio with possibly only Toei being bigger and yet almost nothing. A few Gundam OVA and TV series here a Love Live movie there and a Gintama season and upcoming Accel World movie. They teased that Mirai Arise show back in late 2014 and just nothing about it since.

They didn't kill them off, what's actually happened is Bandai Visual and King Records have quietly acquired all the rights to the ones from the 70's-90's period that they didn't already have before and have been releasing box sets for them that have actually been doing pretty well. Macross is even now a shared trademark of Bandai Visual and Big West so technically Gundam and Macross are run by the same company. Also just nobody else is really good at producing mecha/action series besides Bandai and King (Fafner, Symphogear). Aniplex even tried with Valvrave and Aldnoah Zero but we all know how that turned out and they're about the only real possible competition at a big production level.

If there was more demand for super robot stuff I'm sure Bandai would spring for a new Mazinger or god forbid Gunbuster or something. Frankly the only reason I think Macross Delta got greenlit is because it's Macross which is due and because it has idols in it which is their other big draw aside from robots.
